well reasons to be cheerful. been really busy with work so lost track of highltights and seeing the team recently but had a catch up and things are looking good cup quaters (after coming back with ten men) . Good youth coming through, good squad with options and a manager who looks to be really good. always loved silvstri and think he has to come back, his shot stopping is world class and is green better commanding the box? also still back wood he scores and that is good enough for me. always loved MC and believed he will bring the back the good times. still some way to go but how much have we improved, not been that happy and confident since about 2002 MOT.

Bermondsey you and I have been defenders of Massimo from the start and I call on all posters on this site and Leeds United fans everywhere to show their appreciation for all he has done for our club. He is a crazy Italian but he's our crazy Italian. I have said it before and will say it again if we show Massimo our appreciation that crazy Italian will become infatuated with Leeds United and will no longer see a business opportunity, he will find a devotion that he can not resist and give us his heart.

agree there have been a few of us but only a few, he found a club that had been rapped for year and in a huge hole and it will take time (still bit more time I think) but he had good track record and his own arrogence will not allow him to fail. made a lot of mistakes and wish he said less to the media and kept away from hock but overall I am very pleased with how things are shaping if we keep on this upward curve and keep progressing we should be decent prem team in a few years. that is a bit if mind.

Wex, one swallow don't make a summer bro. Where I came from on ttgm and I said this at the time was I wanted him to spend. I was entitled to take that view. Spend and you get my vote. Eventually he did so he's got it but before then he was kinda tight and clueless. If he spends well in January especially on a striker we have a very decent side.

Not been a fan of a few of his player selections but always a huge fan of mc. He did save us and has learnt and improved each season. Crazy he maybe but I bet he won't be giving any refunds out this season. It is the first time in a long long while I have eagerly anticipated games and hopeful of three points rather than hope we don't lose by too many! 👍.

It's been tough being a Leeds fan over the years, especially more recently. But we are fans and care about our club. Football will never be what it used to be due to the money that's involved and subsequently some of those who get involved. Our passion, pride and drive is about our team putting in a performance and being the best (we hope) . Others use it as a 'Player farm' or to strip the club as soon as we have a few quid. We are in a better place and the business man in MC made some serious cut backs whilst the passionate football fan in him wants us to do well. Yes it's still early days and yes we still need to strengthen. One thing is true WE are more united than I have seen in years, boardroom, back room, squad and fans, there is a great buzz (even on here) . We need our ground back and we need one or two players and if that's all we need then that's not a bad place to be. Happy days😜.

Owner keeping in the background and no embarrassing the club. Tick. Owner investing in the team. Tick. Owner giving Manager/Head Coach time to implement his own football style on the team. Tick. That is all I have asked for. The club is bigger than the owner.

for me, the jury is still out on MC. i'm not a convert but then again I am not one saying he should get out - credit where credit is due. a lot of people have been saying he has invested in the team and yes, he has brought in new players and spent more than the last 2 lots have but if you look at outgoings and incomings overall it is breaking even at best and actually we are not getting as much put back in as we are making from player sales. Fair enough i'm not asking for crazy spending but to me this still looks like we should be putting more in, particularly when sales of McFlytipperbadgekisser and Cookie have brought so much money into the club. let's see what happens in January.

Still want a new owner, but Cellino has clearly learned from the mistakes he made first year. It's boring seeing some fans drag up old stories and complaining when he does nothing bad. MOT.

Alf mate. U need to support arsenal or Liverpool
Jeez. The man has done more for Leeds than anyone since Wilko or revie. Playoffs this year. Promotion next year.

I have been on the fence regarding MC but this year he does seem to have learnt from past mistakes . First point is we really have not seen much of him no silly interviews and he has given time to Monk . Quality of players coming in has improved Sign Pilot and Bark . Try to get Barton on loan in Jan, yes I would and someone like Crouch then I believe we could be in the mix for top six.

Some great performers and great results but who are your first eleven pick for Burton?

Simples. Whoever Monky chooses. In him I have total faith after Tuesday!

My first name on teamsheet is Silvestri. Emotional decision but how can you drop a guy who pulls off a great save inside 30 seconds then 3 pens after 120 minutes the last one being utterly world class?

Green
Berradi. Johnson Bartley Taylor
Phillips. O'Kane
Sakho Hernandez roofs

Same team that played Wolves but Hernandez in for Vieira and maybe Silvestri in for Green.

27 Oct 2016 20:27:04
has to be silvestri, green ain't been great and no point playing someone letting them play well and not putting them in 1st team, it is meant to be an insentive with a goal of being put in team, if douk played a blinder and got a hat-trick everyone would be saying put him in same applys for keeper in my book, although again have to agree with speedy in monk I trust so who he goes for I am behind.

Is that not the best back four in the league Ben?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Oct 2016 09:20:11
I did not see the game on Tuesday and gather Silvestri did well but I have seen all home league games this season and 2 away, I struggle to see what Green has done wrong to justify being dropped, apart from the QPR game. Yes, it is easier playing behind Pontus and Bartley but he still contributes to the defence through organising and commanding his box whilst still making good saves. Still Green for me but Silvestri is now strong competition.

Notts, you probably right but there can't be many games in the history of any club where an uninjured goalkeeper doesn't play the next match with 3 penalty saves previous game.

Has to be well up there ausman. will feel a whole let better when we own more than 50% of the defence though!

Heres a curious question. do think Greens presence is having the desired effect on Silvestri. let's face it, Silvestri was expected to leave pre-season when he was told to train with the reserves. I think green has provided experience and competition which has made him better. can't see Green being our No1 next season. could we argue he was brought in to be a mentor of sorts to Silvestri who could well be our no1 next year?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Oct 2016 13:42:54
Plum, there's probably a connection. If Green can teach Silvestri command of box we have close to a world class goalkeeper.

We simply have to play our best players against Liverpool, otherwise we have no chance. Hopefully Mowatt and Grimes are nowhere near the starting line up.

28 Oct 2016 12:44:50
When we go to Anfield we need to keep things tight at the back. Speedy and Berm don't forget to call Garry to provide him with your pearls because each of you have expert experience in that area. By doing this we'll get a good grip on proceedings. Again, Speedy and Berm don't forget to call Garry or Pep.
