I understand the performances haven't been good enough, and I'm just as frustrated as everyone else involved with this football club. Brian McDermott has made some mistakes along the way, but I still feel deeply that he is the man to take us forward. He is clearly being cheated and lied to by the club's hierarchy. You could see the raw emotion in his post match interview today and the passion he has for the club. We all know there's something going dreadfully wrong behind the scenes at our great club, and I for one am dreading the imminent arrival of this Italian person. He has pending investigations into embezzlement and was twice convicted for fraud. STABILITY is what we need in order to lay the foundations for a future promotion push, and this is the last man united want at a club for stability. I am all for expressing personal opinion freely, but if you believe Brian is responsible for this mess you are deluded and quite frankly mistaken. Anyway, on wards we march. I'll be at the Brighton game, so I'll see you all then. God Bless. MOT

Feel very sorry for BM. What a way to treat the best manager we've had for years.
Atmosphere at ER was worst I've experienced . Think we are all in limbo land.
Re Kebe, he's clearly a confidence player; we all need to listen to BM and support the lad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Best manager we have had in years? I'm sorry, but what do you base those facts on?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes a muppett like the owners, let's pack it all in and wantch the Rhino's

supporting leeds is like riding the scariest roller-coaster. just when i thought the club was stabilising and moving forward, this debacle of a take-over saga ruins all the forward momentum and progress in one fell swoop.
if gfh have the best interests of our club at heart, they will not get into bed with massimo cellino. he will cause more disruption and unrest.
at least the british consortium appear to want the best for lufc and don't want to rock the boat any more.
please gfh do what is best for lufc, sell to andy flower etc and let this club march on with as little disruption as possible.
mot ron.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry to disappoint you but GFH do not care about LUFC other than to get as much money out of it as quickly as they can! They may as well just have an auction, sell to highest bidder and then see if FL approve! Don't forget they are an Arab Investment Bank!

Anyone who questions McDermott being manager of this club can do. Brilliant manager in a dire situation, I really do feel sorry for the man. If the whole 'good things come to those who those who wait' is true we're due to be taken over by Sheikh Mansour any day now.
The manager and the fans deserve so much more. It's becoming a joke now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Jan 2014 23:08:41
Who ever takes over us, because it will happen as GFH have told the stock ex it's happening.it will sooner rather than later. first GFH are using cellinio as a tool ( because he is ) never pass the fit proper person test and he knows that.so should Haig and co. But Brian in his interview was talking like he has been hard done by. u have not Kebe signed by u legs gone Hunt signed by u done zero Murphy 1 million pound not played why Watton not played Stewart looks ok smith on a free ok. Playing Diouf tonite poor. If it goes sports capitals way then Brian u need to show your quality . Tin hat on I will get s*it for this but other managers have had less and done same if not better. And for me Kebe did u scout him not 6 years ago the hear and now?

Just leaving the ground, KENNY well what can you say, half hit shot goes in, switched off in my opinion, the team itself look like they're going nowhere, poor effort throughout the team, upfront totally clueless, the wingers? Midfield heartless, Tom Lees came out with a bit of credit but the rest were rubbish. As a team we need to be in other teams faces for 90 mins, each player had flashes for a min or 2 but apart from that
it was average, no enthusiasm throughout the team slow at throw ins, free kicks, corners, it was painfull to watch.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hardly surprising with all the turmoil going on thanks a lot GFH!

Agree0 Disagree0

Kebe lost the ball in midfield again, that led to Kenny completely screwing up. Still he pulled off a fantastic double save in the first half, which our defence totally switched off for. Kebe, Stewart & Diouff were the worst players by far. I can't but help to start doubting Brian McD. He has brought it Murphy (Bench Warmer), Smith (Still learning), Wooton (Bench warmer) Zaliukus (Bench Warmer), Kebe (Shocking, but at least he will be gone at the end of the season), Stewart (A winger that doesn't like to bomb on). Apart from the last two, that was Warnocks team and as much as it pains me to say it I think Warnock would get better out of them.

Just seen
this on a headline stating flowers has accused GFH of reneging on the deal

Flowers said in a statement: "We are convinced this will not be in the interests of the club, the manager, the players or the fans.

"We must ask the question whether the prospective preferred bidder understands anything about the culture of Leeds United, its fans, its heritage or British football.

"We were fully justified in revising our bid because a number of things have come to light which were not as originally described.

"However, as lifelong fans we believe our offer and plans were in the best interests of the club and its loyal supporters.

"This boils down to much more than money but GFH have chosen to ignore that.

"We believe the owners have breached their covenant with us but, much more importantly, they have breached their covenant with the fans."

Bahrain-based investment firm GFH took control of the club from former Leeds chairman Ken Bates 12 months ago and have made no secret of their intention to attract further investors.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Jan 2014 22:07:04
OMG need to get rid of the Italian cannot believe what has happened to our club-GFH suck- we need to start a petition ASAP!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All the lies GFH told us a year ago about being here for the long term and investment in the team? We want our club run by people who don't just want to make a fast buck! MOT without GFH

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 22:00:31
Would I be correct in saying that GFH has to sell one way or another otherwise surely they have increased their share price unlawfully. Food for thought what goes around comes around. We don't want to lose haigh and flowers as from what I'm seeing is they have the clubs best interests at heart. We also don't need someone who has a trial hanging over them and potentially lose BMC who I think is the right man for the job if given the funds to sign his targets. Whatever happens will always support the mighty whites. Mot

Meh, another bad mistake from Kenny. Let's get in Sam Slocombe from Scunthorpe. Kenny needs some competition for his spot.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Kenny made a mistake, but makes a lot more saves than he does mistakes}

28 Jan 2014 22:07:47
agree totally with ed kenny has saved us a lot of points one mistake?

Agree0 Disagree0

@Ed013, that may be, but he still needs competition - OP

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Yes he does}

Kenny also pulled off a fantastic double save when our defence went missing. I couldn't see the shot from the NE stand, but it did look soft. Still I think Kenny will be getting more practice over the next few weeks :(

No sympathy with the Leeds consortium at all. That's what happens when you deal with a private equity business.

No passion, no goals, no defence, no midfield, no takeover thanks to David haigh playing both parties of against each other! No hope! If I was mccormack I'd be gone!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Glad your not McCormack then! Mot.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 21:40:10
Ok, so the inevitable has happened! The takeover on the rocks due to GFH refusing to accept a revised offer, because not everything was as it seemed of course! Erm, isn't David Haigh the current MD! Shouldn't he know the ins and outs of it all? After all, he did have some involvement with GFH!

Why can't anything ever be simple in the life of a Leeds UTD supporter! Luckily enough I am old enough to remember wining the old 1st division, but not so old to remember the days of Bremner ect! Still doesn't make me any less of a supporter or diminish the frustration that every Leeds fan is feeling, not just myself! That we keep getting told will be over and that the days of slumber are over!

I just wish that the days of the sleeping giant to be gone, in the hope that the beast will awaken and rise like we all know WE can! Who's with me?

We are a lot like them.

I'm trying my best to bring back Yorkshire Radio and want you all involved as much as possible.
Money is tight as we all know and I brought Massimo into Leeds United and hope and pray all is well just like you all do.
It's a roller coaster and I'm frightened of falling off but let's march on together for the sake of Billy etc and especially Don Revie. We must keep our faith.

After seeing flowers statement tonight then the takeover is not near. Things are up in the air.
No chance of transfers in by the looks but we are willing to let varney go who I thought put in a great effort v leicester.
No win tonight and seasons finished. Not been negative but its a fact. Shrew leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am desperate to see Poyet back at Leeds next season where he belongs.
Just the man to make us great again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Only way Poyet will be back at Leeds next season is if Sunderland get relegated or we meet them in the cup. Why the hell would you want a new manager anyway, BMcD is the man for the job he has just been unfortunately held back from moving us forwards due to issues behind the scenes

Agree0 Disagree0

Who in their right mind would come to this club as manager. Any prospective manager will be aware of the mess we are in and give us a very wide berth.

deals will be in place if they know things will be complete . if the takeover gets announced before window closes and no signings on the same day then they didn't expect to spend. I am thinking we may just see some decent players brought in on loan with a view to permanent move

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 17:58:43
Did anyone see corrientes last night? Apparently the deal between Dev and the fitness coach is for the purchase of LUFC. It's also been rumoured that David Wix and Max Beanning are tabling a counter offer. A deal is set to be announces in one of Thursdays episodes.

Of course this is a load of fictional rubbish, but I think as fans we need to find the funny side of this takeover saga, without it I think I might go crazy.

28 Jan 2014 17:13:50
Just a thought.

Read the YEP carefully and it states Flowers is involved and is trying to sell his shares in Enterprise Insurance.

I firmly believe this is the hold up. Mr Flowers hasn't sold his shares to raise the cash for Mr Haigh and LUFC yet.

He either wants GFH to transfer shares on a promise or hasn't the funds to press the go button yet

What's your thoughts Ed

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - It is a possibility and he wouldn't want this to be common knowledge so that he didn't look desperate to sell, therefore letting his shares go for less. Something just doesn't add up for me, a takeover that gets submitted to the football league before Xmas, is still not completed. I think one of the 4 members has been held up by the football league}

Hi Ed. Just my opinion this. But I think you ought to consider putting the banter page back on. By all means be more discerning about what you allow through. But its just not the same without it. And some of the more light hearted stuff we used to have on there. Probably the reason we don't seem to be getting nearly half as many posts

Firstly I should point out that I can't ACTUALLY see into the future, if I could I would make a shed load of money and buy Leeds United, but I can't predict the future, so I'm NOT going to buy Leeds United.

However, my ability to see into the future tells me that Leeds are going to lose 1-2 tonight, the board are going to react over-react and sack Brian.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well I'm going tonight (finally got some cash in) and I have worked out that from the last 50 games I have been to Leeds have won 41 drawn 5 and lost 4. I have very rarely see bad result even when we were in the premiership, championship last time or league 1.

Unfortunatly however good or bad Varney is, he is one of our better forwards. He certainly made a difference against Leicester. He has difficulty scoring, however, which is common at Elland Road. Even though McCormack scores a lot over a season he does it in patches. In his barren spells he misses sitters by the bucket load.
As far as Varney is concerned if we sell him we don't know how much we will get and where the money will go.I don't think there is much chance of us getting in anyone better. We will be just one player less on the books with a lot worse still there.

Deadline day will be just that, its fate, this takeover has been planned for deadline day to maximise publicity, and as for transfers they have already been lined up ready to go, then come saturday we can party, I'm telling you its going to happen, I've got no inside info at all, but with everything that's gone on you wouldn't put it past david haigh and co to do it, like McDermott said its a bog week so you would think its going to happen sometime this week, why not friday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would be nice but really are David Haigh & Co going to take all the flack they are taking and cause their manager so much grief?! If they have then they really are Public Relations junkies and we will have to take everything they say in future with a pinch of salt!
