I'd like to inform every Leeds united fan that AEG operate the galatasaray stadium Turk telekom arena, how would us supporters feel about this if they were to take over knowing they are in partnership with our enemies regarded higher than scumchester? Opinions please

Ive lost count of how many names have been thrown into the hat for the supposed takeover. I'm as excited as everyone else but I wish we had some hard evidence. Is anyone else bemused why Clayton is on the transfer list, I thought he was one of our best last season and it will be a shame to see him go. A friend of mine I know but I'd like to see Simon Walton back at Leeds, he's free scored 10 last season and doesn't shy away from a tackle. Hopefully something comes up soon regarding take over. Mot Northampton white

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Says it all why we dont want him mrs walton. he is free, released by a division 2 club. a journeyman at best.

Agree5 Disagree0

Adam clayton is on the list as he has asked for more money for a contract extension than the club thinks he is worth - simple economics pay what you can afford and stay in business. so in Essence sell while you can get some money good business strategy - Melki Jonny

No wonder the so called new owners want to stay silent with all this childish talk of billionaires. Question, what happens if they're not as affluent as what most people are saying so. I think we're jumping the gun. Let's just step back and be thankful to them for helping this club from the last 7.5 years and let's move forward into what is a brand new era. Nico.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

I've said it before and I'll say it again- 'there is no takeover'. The OS is full of absolute waffle. We're getting a new catering company and that's it. The team for our first game next season will be a weaker one than finished last season. We all had faith in Warnaock , but , I bet, he has never encountered a fox as sly as pappa smurf!!

Agree2 Disagree7

Lust horses**t! There is a takeover/investment deal with it if you don't like it go support Huddersfield!

I bet your house is a right place to be, a laugh a Second I bet. Let me get this right though you think this is all a cover up for bates to do watt ? sell more season tickets ? I can't think watt he would have to gain by lying. He would be a laughing stock ! By the way laughing is a thing u do when something funny happens.relax mate Bates will be gone soon enough.

Agree3 Disagree0

Not sure why this has been described as LUST horseshoe*t. LUST stated before anyone that there was a bid on the table and are clearly in the know. They have also stated that the current bidders will release full details of the bid if it falls through so it should be obvious they have been informed by the buyers themselves and are probably subject to an NDA.

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys , I have nothing to do with LUST. Lets all come back to my post about 'no takeover' on the 1st day of the season. Remember the phrase on the official site 'due diligence' . Well how much due diligence do you need to carry out to ascertain if a guy is a Billionaire ( as the crap on this site would have you believe). Answer -None. Papa smurf is still playing with us .

Agree1 Disagree1

The due diligence is carried out by the buyer not the seller. The buyer has the accounts examined to check for hidden nasties such as undisclosed debts, undeclared mortgages, possible frauds and so on. That takes time and the expertise of skilled forensic accountants. I hate Bates, insofar as I can really hate someone I've never met, but I don't think this is BS for the reasons that LUST has pointed out.

The 'good businessman' stuff is the real bullish*t, the club is losing money every year and making up for it with player sales. That can't go on forever and Bates has realised that he's running out of time. The East Stand development has clearly stretched the club's finances to breaking point and he needs to sell. Good riddance.

Ed, are these all your pals, you have just lost a season ticket holder at ER for last 20 years viewing this site, I made relevant comments and you have not even posted, this site is a joke. Oh by the way I also work for the same paper that lead to most of the posts on here, you're loss {Ed013's Note - Grow up, I post everything that comes through as long as it isn't offensive towards anyone or utter rubbish. Like I said to the other bloke that is whining, check all the pages, otherwise they aren't coming through to me unless another ed is deleting them which is his/hers right to do so}

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Agree.....I posted on banter the other night, nothing offensive etc just banter, nothin posted. Posted questioning why, no response. Not sure why {Ed013's Note - I assure you, as a fan myself I try and get all of your posts on. It doesn't matter where you think you post it, they can end up on either of the pages}

Got to stick up for Ed here, i for one have had all my posts posted on here, maybe its because i talk sense and dont just moan or post dribble..... good on you Ed love this site and a couple of moaners wont be missed.... Dave {Ed013's Note - Cheers}

Hi Ed, I think this comment was totally uncalled for. I have had more comments posted than not, but I am not going to burn the teddys if one is not posted, Eds perogative to post, I say to original poster, build a bridge, get over it.

tRip {Ed013's Note - Someone spat their dummy out and I don't recall ever seeing their IP address or email before. At least the majority are supportive, cheers guys}

Agree5 Disagree0

I have to say 9 out of 10 of my posts are never posted on either page. I have tried looking at different times in case it posts when it is reviewed. I have never. Even offensive. I doubt this post will get through either. I wonder if it is because I post from an iPhone? Ed you could search for a post where I pledged £1000 to a fan takeover if this failed before the latest OS announcement. I do not to suggest anyone is at fault, but it is true that my posts do not get through. I expect the original poster doesn't work for a paper but penting his frustration. {Ed013's Note - It may have something to do with that. I let most on, even silly stuff as they still generate a reaction!}

Thanks ed, must've bin one of those nights.....or the rouge clouded my judgment

You work for a paper? Doing what? Not a journalist with the grammar you use. Most my posts don't get on but i don't cry about it as i am a man.

All this talk of billionaires is wonderful and very exciting. It'll be amazing if it happens!
Is it just me though who is a little scepical of the finacial clout we may have?
Apparently Paddy Kenny is joining for 500k. He's a good keeper, but he's old and 500K isn't all that much if you have millions and millions to spend.
If we do have that much money then I hope that we are looking to spend a little more on younger players!
Just my thoughts, but why if we were going to have millions would our first four signings be a 450k, a 500k and two frees?!
I'd be interested in your thoughts.
As I say just what I'm wondering.

Ben - telford

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Cos the money from the takeover will not be fully available to NW (or the new owners) chosen one errr manager (No lets not start that rumour lol) to spend until January these things take time have patience

Agree0 Disagree1

Because believe it or not so much money is poured into wages and this is way higher than the transfer budget trust me.

Agree0 Disagree1

Spending millions does not guarantee success. Hopefully the club will back the managers decision and allow him to bring in players he feels are right for the club and if these are free, £500k or more then so be it; that is up to the manager to bring in players he feels are right for the club and not simply to appease fans who want to see millions spent.

I have to say that reading some of the "suggestions" on here are fun, but if we are indeed being taken over by multi-gazillionaires (slight exaggeration) then why would we want to look at bringing Beckford back and keeping Becchio?

Yes they are decent enough players, but Becchio has struggled with injury and form (but still scored) and Beckford is hardly proven above League One level. He doesn't have the greatest record since leaving The Mighty Whites.

Why would we not look at a couple of strikers who could put the ball in the net regularly and pay a bit more on their wages and transfer fees?

I'm just saying if we are getting all this money to spend, by circumvention of the fair play rules, why would we want second rate players...?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Because we have neil warnock as our manager and not sven goran erikson. paying above rate fees and wages does not bring u success but warnock will on a shoestring.

my oldest brother used to say to me when i was little don't expect anything for Christmas or birthdays and then then you wont be disappointed.
so many rumours lead us to believe we will soon be following a multi riches club. what if its some sort of Ken bates clone? same *hit different face!?

very slim link but the company who have just been awarded the catering at ER Compass group UK have a US based company under the same name. its based in Carolina, not far from Florida. Compass group US bought up a massive chain of restaurant's some years back from the guy that founded and owns the Carolina Panthers.
i'm not digging any further because its a weak link but a US based NFL team owner who has connections to the company who will now provide our pies?!

i'm just saying i dont want to see any disappointed faces if our new owner turns up holding Unkl Kens hand in friendship and holding a cheque in the other hand for 250 quid.

here's to hoping i am still an person and some wealthy oil magnate with more money than Ken Bates turns up soon.

im guessing that its the new owners putting things in place with the partnerships, batesy neved id anything like this and the new investors must have some connections. just my guess. and i know according to all sources DD is still ongoing but we dont know if that is actually the case. it may all be completed and they may just have a specific date in mind for the announcement. as i have already stated days ago i think it will be july 2nd. just because july 1st is a sunday and is also euro final day. neil will come back from his hol next week with a new owner and the means to carry on his job.

deakko7

Believable4 Unbelievable3

On what do you base your calculations that it will be the beginning of July?

Agree2 Disagree0

From YP comments it could well be sometime next week. I think that funds are needed to purchase players that have been approached.

Agree2 Disagree0

Bosmans joining on the first and its generally the time when transfers start happening alot, players back on the 11th and warnock taken extra holiday for 1 week(whilst everything is completed) he has obviously been told whats going on. it just makes sense. he would have walked otherwise as he prev stated alot of times

Agree2 Disagree1

Original poster ere. also that they have a set time to complete their DD process and if they are rich then there top lawyers/accountants will be working night and day on the accounts to push it through. warnock will be in the know. he is still at the club and pushing deals through, he just came back off his hols and straight back on to another instead of setting transfers up. its not rocket science. and disagreeing with no argument is a bit childish as i said this was a guess by looking at the facts

i'm just going to throw this one in as a teaser, not a rumour.
would it be possible that this al hasawi bloke has actually meant in his initial interview, "i will purchase the club which neil warnock is managing. bates got warnock cos this al hasawi blokes only condition would be, he would buy the club where warnock was manager(warnock not at leeds at the time). bates had to get warnock in, so his part was complete. i will buy leeds united/nffc only if warnock is the manager.

Still got all my fingers and toes crossed that this takeover / investment thingy is going to go through (and soon) but what's with all the new "commercial partnership" announcements on the OS.

Yesterday there was "CLUB ANNOUNCES COMPASS PARTNERSHIP" basically new caterers. Then today "New partnership with InterContintental Hotels" i.e. exclusive team advertising and fan discounts.

A. How is this happening when the club is reported to be in a transition of ownership?
B. Is Ken taking the p1ss with these headlines trying to wind up the already stressed / eagerly awaiting fans. I cant think of many worse ways to say we have new caterers without briefly building up and dashing hopes of fans.

Rant over.

Ed,

Please can we stop the idi*ts on here calling Mr Warnock "Colin". It is not his name and is disrespectful. Can you either blank the word out or simply not put up that persons post?!

Thanks

Mark14 {Ed013's Note - I have had a lot of complaints regarding that, so when I am on I will change it to Neil or not post it. I am sure that no one means no harm and is just a little banter, but I can change it}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I'm sorry, but this is the banter section. I'll be honest I didn' like the guy before he became our manager. Now he is I think he is one Top Man. Colin is an affectionate name Leeds fans have for him. OK it's origins aren't exactly the best, but do you think Grayson liked his nickname? Oh I bet he loved being named after an 80's Camp game show host. C'mon, just enjoy the banter and get off your PC horse. Personally if he gets us promotion, I will be calling him GOD!

Agree0 Disagree0

What's so wrong calling Neil ~ Colin, doesnt mean we dislike him, were not calling him by the last name, it's just a funny name and he has always been known by it, just laugh about it get a sense of humour, bah bah rainbow sheep political correctness.

Agree1 Disagree1

People called Grayson Larry and there was no complaints, get off your high-horse

Agree2 Disagree1

How come it's ok to call Bates "Master" & much worse then?
Let's be honest It's tongue in cheek and meant in humour.
If NW ever says that he is offended by the name then it should be banned (I expect he finds it funny, to be honest) otherwise it should be allowed. It's a banter site after all.
What's next? We can't say dirty Leeds because some people don't like it or we can't vent any frustration on this site @ players not pulling their weight.
One of the things that makes this site great is the diversity of opinions, the fans humour & the fact they are allowed the freedom to speak their mind.
Having said that people been deliberately offensive should never be tolerated under any circumstances.

No idea why everyone is so obsessed with beckford coming back there is no real evidence for it, and look what he has gone on to do, nothing... he played well for us but is old news look to thefuture not past

MR.B/LUFC

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Hes done enough to be fair . top scorer for Everton then sold to Leicester due to a big profit had they not of come in for beckford he would of been scoring for everton most games. 15 goals last season not too bad for a team that underperformed . he doesn't work hard to get the ball back but he does his job and puts it in the net.

Agree5 Disagree3

I thought jermaine did very well in the premiership given the time on the pitch netting 10 goals, (more than a fair few bigger name strikers) and scored some belters, not given a long run in the Leicester team either, he is probably the most likely ex player to return given the chance and we all know he pairs well with becciho, he is a goal scorer and I don't really think you would find much better realisically at this level, if Leicester would be willing to lose a bit of cash they paid for him I'd definitely would have him back, with Ross likely to leave it wouldnt hurt having around 4 competitive strikers,

Agree5 Disagree1

I would love to have him back in a Leeds shirt, he did well in his one and only season in the prem, he did well last year at Leicester. I dont care how hard/or not he works (Henry was lazy but possibly the best striker seen in this country) that is not his job his job is to put the ball in the net which is something he is good at.

Agree2 Disagree1

I would have Beckford back anytime

Agree3 Disagree1

There is no doubt that given good service that Beckford would put the ball in the net. However, it usually meant he needed a hatful of chances to eventully succeed. A very frustrating forward with a lazy approach which doesn't always go down well with fans or other players. Personally I think we can do better. Somebody young and hungry and a Team player. Depending on cost I would like to see Rhodes. Also if we are looking at scoring ration why look past Ross Mc?

Agree2 Disagree0

Rate him or don't rate him.
If Beckford is playing regular football next season, with good service, there won't be many strikers above him in the championship top scorers no matter who he's playing for.
Having said that he is lazy and frustrating too.

Someone mentioned something in a lower post that has just got my alarm bells ringing a bit.

They mentioned Portsmouth and the situation they had there where unknown owners came in screwed the club up a bit then moved on leaving the next person to balls it up a bit more etc etc until they got to the point there in now.

I'm hoping that KB doesn't just sell for a quick buck (wouldn't surprise me though) and that him and his team are looking out for Leeds best interests in the future.

And before you say it I know the rules on who can own a football club have got tighter so there is less chance of this happening but there is still than nagging doubt in my head

Believable1 Unbelievable2

You can only look at his track record, chelsea sold to a billionaire and look what they have done o.w

Agree1 Disagree0

Ken will make sure its a very rich person as he likes to see the money before even talking about selling. Also a very rich person doesn't mind parting with more, whereas a consortium that is struggling to get funds is going to try and haggle for a better price.

That's the great thing about speculation no matter what anyone says you can't get shot for it. The thing about DD or due diligence and also NDAs (non disclosure agreement) is it works both ways so both sides have to keep their mouths shut about the deal while they look into each other, or they will get shot, or at least be in serious trouble. This means no one will really know who the interested party is other than those involved in the agreement. Leeds have done their DD on the interested party and are satisfied, it's now down to the potential buyers. Despite what others may say Leeds United the brand with it's world wide support in addition the multi sports arena that we will have plus the casinos and other money making opportunities appeal to a buyer. May take time but I have a good feeling that Leeds United are on their way back. PhilBramley
