Cellinio - Love him? Hate him?

Whatever your thoughts on the man are, I think the media are out to throw any S#!t they can Leeds way.

We read Cellinio has sacked Redfearn!
Way I see it is he chose not to renew/extend his contract

We read Cellinio has sacked Steve Head after 5 Days!
Way I see it is he had not signed his contract so how could he sack him if he hadn't been employed

We read Cellinio has sacked 5 managers!
McDermott, Shockerday & Darko - Yes
Who else has he sacked?

Rossler is appointed and the first thing we read is his odds to make it till Christmas - positive not

The press write what suits them and don't show much other than contempt for this club, they certainly don't create positivity reading

I say stuff the doom merchants and wish for a good season ahead!

Well said mate. We are the archetypical pantomime villains of football, or so the press would like everybody to believe. I'm surprised they haven't printed pictures of Cellinio with a cape and a top hat fiddling with his moustache whilst Redfern is strapped to a railway line. I've learnt to live with it, we're all thick skinned at Leeds, because we have no choice.

Great article on Sheridan Dictates today. Michael Duberry. Not my all time fav player, but a superb interview. Kind of think he was unlucky in his whole Leeds career, on and off the pitch. Read through News Now.

Makes you wonder George what could of been with that squad. That court case, book and general miss-management from the top down were the sinking of our great club. They just tried to move too fast. The infrastructure was there. Just too bloody impatient. MOT.

Said it at time there were several errors management committed.

1. Over investment in strikers.

2. Under investment in midfield playmaker.

3. Purchase of S Johnson.

4. Failure to rest players for Cardiff cup game who kicked us for 90 minutes. We weren't same rest of season. Oleary should have seen that coming.

5. Loss to Newcastle at home.

These events gone other way we would've won the league and consolidated. Instead meltdown and admin followed. We still feeling effects.

There was one other thing that happened that season. Our mate Gary McAllister scored a winner for liverpool against Everton which kept us out of Europe. Funny thing was it should have been disallowed as he took the free kick which he scored from about ten yards from where it should have been from. He couldn't have scored from where it should have been taken from. Gary Mac's 44-yard winner against Everton in the fourth minute of injury time back in April 2001. youtube it. it was a decisive moment in our downfall.

MOT. This year is our year

If only the top 4 went into champions league that season. Things could of been so different?!

Been away for a week and back to a new crisis lol. Cellino has not sacked him just not give him the job. I can see his point, scout who is on holiday during a transfer window, not the best of times. I don't know where he is or how long he is away but two weeks is a long time when its limited. I know its school break but there is lots of them throughout the year. If you played Father Christmas you would not have holiday in december. Cellino wants to put right people in there and if he is not impressed then its his right to say no.

I agree. I wouldn't get away with it if I was starting a new job, so why should he? It doesn't show the right level of dedication to your new employers. Bye!

It's a well known fact that the end of the season members of a football club from the manager, players and members of staff take there leave, so get your facts right it's been that way for many a year.

In what sectors do you guys actually work? If I were going for a job interview, I would be telling them I had a holiday arranged and would like to maintain the leave. If they decided to then not hire me on that basis then its up to them.

It shouldn't question my dedication or commitment. What if the guy was getting married and had a honey moon organised. Or his missus was expecting and had to take paternity then . Its quite clear that MC doesn't live in the real world. But then again, Football isn't the real world, where notice periods, annual leave, sick days etc etc are a law unto them selves.

I think some people are missing the point here. If Pearson (fruit loops' right hand man) handled the terms etc of employment and all it was waiting was for the loon to authorise it, don't you all think it undermines Pearson? Until we here more, for me, all this does it make Pearson look like a clown. I'm sure Head would have told Pearson he was going on holiday. Perhaps it's an early message from Cellino to Pearson to say "look here, I'm in charge". Whatever the reason behind this ludicrous decision, it completely undermines Pearson and makes him look a mug, who must be wondering what the hell he left a stable club for to join Billy Smart's Circus.

The fact is we do not know why he did not get the job. He maybe just one on a shortlist. Most scouts have done their work and handed a list in before they go on holiday, they would not last long otherwise. We need a scout asap, he is not available, and you are right ds it is up to the employer if they want to set you on. Bet no one has heard of this guy till he gets connected with Leeds, he certainly was not in my thoughts. And if Pearson put him forward and Cellino thinks he is not good enough then get some one else, simples

BIGE, I think Pearson will know a lot more about people in the English game than Cellino will ever will.

In answer to your simples post BIGE and according to The Reflection (rag), your hero Cellino didn't hire Head because he wanted to go on holiday this week and he needs someone yesterday. But wait, who have we got? Nobody. How many players have we signed? None. Are most of the players and their agents on holiday? Yes, probably. The only reason Cellino is working '20 hour days' (yeah right) is because he was banned for being a crook and he is now back at the helm after his extended sabbatical. Everyone else and his dog are on their jollys, so back in the real world it would be acceptable to wait a week for their man. Not many doing business this week is there?

MC will look like a complete muppet if Head is back from his holiday and we still haven't appointed anyone.

So we all believe what we read on some web site now, has Head said anything, Pearson, Cellino, no so as I said we do not know what the full story is but let's villify Cellino anyway easy target.

28 May 2015 19:09:48
Or maybe he just has not signed it because he is on holiday so no rush and seeing if any one better applies. Could be still on his desk for all we know.

BIGE mate I enjoy lot's of your posts but your unwavering loyalty to MC is getting a bit tiresome. How you can defend a man who continuously treats people like they are beneath him is beyond me. I understand business, but Cellino seems to think he is a law unto himself. What goes around comes around my friend and one day soon Cellino will find this out, hopefully not at any cost to LUFC. It is not what decisions he has made but how he has gone about them which disappoints myself and countless others. And it looks like he will never learn.

What's going on lads with the transfer targets? Why are so many so keen on bringing back old faces? I would not entertain Rio Ferdinand nor Joey Barton, we get to much bad press as it is so we really don't want anymore with Barton. Beckford, Becchio and Robinson, would they be a move forward? When we were last in this division under Sgt Wilko he mixed brawn, brains and skill to get us back up and maybe that is what is needed again. We need a good sort out and I believe Uwe Rosler could be good for us. What we do need is a strong presence in Midfield like when we had Vinnie (brawn) Strachan and Speedy (brains and skill) we can build a solid defence around Bamba and two additional wide men and a good twenty goal striker, and an additional Keeper but I do think we shouldn't be going backwards, best foot forward and let's build for the future not just a quick fix! I agree 100% Mike. We need to look forward. We need to build a team around our new starlets Cook, Taylor, Byram and Mowatt. Get the right players in to accommodate these lads and then hopefully we'll drag ourselves out of the past.
