Did True Grit at the weekend so didn't watch game until yesterday evening.
Gotta day I was happy with the intent and attacking play. We def deserved to win.
Finishing was once again poor. Defence is giving me the jitters every corner. Forest were pretty poor but defended well.
Thought Forshaw Klich and Pearce all played well. We don't ever give up and forest were being battered last 25 min.

Fair view, we didn’t create lots of clear cut chances but a few that with a bit of luck, could have gone in, Hernadez just too early to get the ball the goalie fumbled, Hernandez again with his cheeky flip and Clarke’s shot amongst others. 1 of those go in and we win the match . that's the difference at the moment.

What a year. What a season. You could make an good argument for at least 10 teams, to gain promotion. Each one, us included, goes on a run then inexplicably drops silly points. The team that gains that elusive "consistency" will gain a winning margin then just hope that no one catches up. Let's hope the start of our run begins with Wigan.

Good assessment Leo! This is the most exciting league there is. It’s so open.

I’d rather it be boring league and us slaughter everybody and win by 30 points.

If anything the word is he is doing a little better than expected. Might see him getting some under 23 time in dec.

At the time, kp substitution seemed crazy, he was heading for another mom performance. thinking about it later tho. realised we didn't really need him, forest were no real threat going forward.
So was sacrificed, had to keep 2 best headers on in lc and pj. it worked out, has we attacked and got the goal. forshaw good game but a bit too deep. clarke gets my mom. crafty, quick and fearless. Deserves a start ahead of allioffski, swap the 2 if clarke fades in 2nd half. will say it again allioffski wing back or sub. really need a sniffer in the box, someone who
Is available in the correct position to finish our dominant, posession and build up play. sorry but roofe is not that player, never will be.
Cheers lads.

With you on that Giles, Clarke done enough to get a start over Alioski and then if he tires bring on Alioski. Offers a lot with his style of play. Would also consider Edmondson for coming on in games like Forest. We struggling to score and half hour will do him world of good.

Clarke showed his intent, and potential, with just about his first touch. A cheeky attempt at the far top corner when a safe pass was always on; and so it continued. He took defenders on and looked threatening whenever he got the ball. Surely MB cannot ignore him any further. He is worth either a start or if not, at least a couple of half time sustitutions first. With this level of character in the reserves our panic at squad depth is not too great.

Clarke gives us an option we didn’t have at the start of the season, a fast, tricky winger, prepared to take people on and who can score. I’ve seen him play at under 23 level and he struggles to keep that up for a whole game and doesn’t always track back. He is only 17 and not a man mountain like Edmonson. I think building up his minutes on the pitch is the way to go. Each time he’s got the incentive to show us what he can do to create and take a goal.

I’m really pleased for the lad, well done on Bielsa putting him in on the bench and then on the pitch. He’s another reminder that if we buy loads of squad players then these young lads don’t get a chance.

Not a happy bunny, points dropped at home again. Can not fault our play as we are dominating teams and look great going forward, just getting the goals is the hard bit. Said before Ipswich game we needed 7 points from the next three games we got four so far so beat Wigan and we doing well. Good thing is teams around us are dropping points as well so shows what kind of league it is when SU are top, damn you Billy Sharp. Must say though expected problems when Dallas was playing full back, hope Bubs gets a grip and sorts back four out. For me its either Pearce or Alioski left back. Shacks only one left for right with Coyle away.

Dallas lost his man on the corner and he scores.
Great to see us fight back to equalize but need to defend set pieces better.

BPF was also at fault. Had a defender on one post and was nearer to his post than the other.
Poor positioning.
We were better at set pieces when Pontus was not marking anyone and was free to attack the ball.

I think BPF was more at fault, there was no pace on the ball but he didn't seem to have been watching it.

Style of play and our effort to me hasn't dropped off . Think we are struggling with squad depth due to injuries . The injuries are killing us at moment . can't knock us though it's a cracking season so far .

Believable2 Unbelievable0

28 Oct 2018 11:31:27
I think the positive side of the injuries is that Bielsa is really having to understand what the championship is like and how good his squad options really are. Don’t think there is anybody apart from Blackman from his identified 18 plus players that hadn’t been used in the league at some point.

Might influence what we do in the Jan window.

Lots of problems yesterday and sorry to say MB created a few of them.
Last week at Blackburn we saw that Dallas is not a right back or a left back but MB gave him a go because he deserved it . sorry but play a left back at left back. Once Ayling got injured bring on Shackleton not Pearce, keep a balance to the back 4. To then sub Pearce was again poor in my opinion, Pearce was not getting as far forward as Dallas was on the right but he looked far more solid defensively.
KP and Forshaw were competing for the same space and that also affected Klich who started to have some influence once KP was subbed, so MB needs to sort out a formation that suits all three.
Alioski has had his chance as far as I am concerned delivery is poor so is his decision making he needs some time on the bench. Same for Saiz whose reaction to being dropped was very disappointing, ambling about, he even got a rollicking from Cooper which must be a first.
Clarke must start a game, he is positive, direct and skilful and did more in his cameo than Saiz, Alioski and Dallas put together.
Pablo out on the left is a waist too, he needs to be more central.
4141 works if the players are available and on form but without Ayling and Douglas and no Bamford for a while maybe 433 is the way to go with a solid 4 protected by KP, Forshaw and Klich further forward with Clarke and Pablo given licence to roam.
All is not lost, teams are coming to stop us playing which is a compliment as they know we are a good side. Like Roofe said we need that first goal and we need to learn to defend penalty spot corners. Over to you MB.

With Wigan and West Brom to come before the next break, we're in a really intriguing position.

2nd in the league, best goal difference in the league by 4.

We have spells where we defend like schoolboys but we've never really looked like we were going to be hammered and we've only ever lost by one goal in the league.

We never give up and it always seems that we can get at least one goal by that determination and effort.

We are building something that's got lots going for it, and Bielsa has done a great job with the resources available to him.

We aren't missing much, but particularly with the injuries, we are just missing a killer instinct, goal poacher, that little something that would turn the possession and opportunities into more points.

I honestly don't think anyone should give up, with the inconsistency of other teams, neither of those two automatic places has definite names on them yet.

I think Bielsa will love this challenge, he knows we're not a million miles away, just got to find that X factor!

I agree Spanish about Bielsa, he is doing brilliant with what he has got because the majority of the players he is having to work with were there last season and we all know how bad that was. I just hope the powers that be can see how a lack of strength in depth could be our downfall and invest in some real quality in the next transfer window. With nobody at this stage running away with it, it really is the season to get promoted.
