got a funny feeling mills wont be joining i think he is waiting for someone else to come in i would say if you dont decide by tonight then dont bother we move on he will not ever play for a bigger club so it will be a money factor

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Totoaly agee with you mate dont think warnock will be messed about by him

Agree3 Disagree7

If there's nobody else though we've nothing to lose by waiting for him.

Agree7 Disagree2

Pearsons not there ATM he's recovering from a back injury {Ed013's Note - News reports says that Pearson will be back at work tomorrow}

Ken Bates quotes to YEP...

"all they are not making any impact at all, except for in their own minds. The way they are behaving is most peculiar and frankly, they are making no impression on the club.
"The only impression they are making is a bad one and that is externally from would be sponsors and maybe investors so who would want to get involved in a mob like that.
"They make these open statements to the world and then promptly send them to all major newspaper columns that basically have a laugh and spite them.

"Martin Samuel from the Daily Mail took their claims, analysed them and pointed out that according to them, without justification or substantiation, 120 people voted for a march and 80% didn`t, well so what. We had observers at the last march who were mostly kids. When they were asked why they were there, they said, 'for a lark,` well that sums it up. It doesn`t make any impression on the management and it doesn`t make any impression on the directors of the club. They just make themselves a nuisance.

as much as Bates makes me cringe sometimes, i couldnt agree more with what he is saying! how can people (LUST) want the club to be taken over and invested in when they are doing pointless and pittyful marches form the city centre.
i would love to see somebody buy Ken Bates out but to go about it like that is ridicoulus, let alone what effect it has on players like snodgrass, clayton etc. why would they wanna sign new contracts with patheticness like that going on outside ER?!

Believable9 Unbelievable6

Agreed but don't you think that the pathetic wages that will be offered to snodgrass ,clayton will have more to do with it than the fans which are in there right to voice an opinion ,which Bates does all the time .

Agree7 Disagree1

Some real drivel here...

Bates is driving away investors with his own ridiculous valuation of the club (£90m - that's £20m more than Liverpool who own their ground).

He's also caused serious concerns with the opaque ownership issues and the rather bizarre and sudden acquisition of the club last year.

The mystery of the ground ownership is also a major worry.

LUST hasn't got everything right but their concerns are not really about the team, they're about the club and how it's being run.

How many clubs are being constantly investigated by parliamentary watchdogs, the BBC and a relatively reputable broadsheet newspaper? They're only after a story but they clearly smell a good one at Leeds United - just as they did with the News of The World. Why? Answers on a postcode please...

Our club has been brought into disrepute by Bates and all you people swallowing his bullish*t and propaganda will realise one day that he has no interest in the club - only in what he can make from it.

Do you want a good team or a museum? A good team for me please. Bates lovers - hope you enjoy your museum and your second honeymoons in the luxury hotel in sunny Beeston...

He's bad news.

Agree8 Disagree4

Nice post mate - I also remember the march from the Liverpool fans "spirit of shankley" in protest over the running of the club by Gillette and Hicks, it clearly worked for them - the passion and belief of most Leeds fans and supporters of LUST must never be questioned but in reality supported..! Bates is not the answer MOT

Agree5 Disagree1

Am i the only one getting sick of all this? Let's just turn up saturday, sing our hearts out for leeds for ninety minutes! Let's see if you print this ed. We are LEEDS!! {Ed020's Note - why would'nt i? lol.}

Agree3 Disagree2

Thats right Ken, its the fans showing support for their club thats putting off these potential investors and not the chairman who continuously attacks anyone and everyone who dares to dissagree with him

Agree5 Disagree1

Cos you didn't show the one about the badge mate! Thought it was banter not propaganda. So let's have a bit of a laugh and then show theworld how tosupport your team. We areLEEDS!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Cheers. Organizing a march from the peacock to the chip shop before the game saturday to force the board to show their handon why the club badge has nit changed for years. We leeds fans used to coins on the badge changing, why do they seem reluctant to say whats happening? We are LEEDS!!

Agree1 Disagree0

We want clarity on just who owns the club badge and why there has been no significant investment in the design. We ask every leeds fan to drink one pint for every year the badge has not changed. We are LEEDS!!

Agree4 Disagree0

I posted the long anti-Bates post and yes, on Saturday, I will be there singing my heart out for the club, as I have been at most home games since I was a 9 year old in February 1970. That's a very time.

I never chant Bates Out at the games. I don't even sing the Chelsea Scums songs and I don't 'stand up' to hate Man U because I don't care about other clubs.

The assumption that those of us who are anti-Bates are not true supporters is not only wrong, it's offensive. We're anti-Bates BECAUSE we love our club.

For what it's worth I'm a company director and can read a balance sheet in 10 minutes. There are BIG questions going unanswered in relation to our club's accounts, especially in relation to large amounts of money going to mysterious offshore companies, and I want them answered. It's my money and I have a right to know why it's going to offshore companies by the million whilst other clubs are building their teams.

Agree4 Disagree2

And there not protecting or investing in the badge! Its a disgrace!! Bet billy painter would be better than messi if he knew all the uncertainty about the badge was sorted out. We are LEEDS!!

Agree2 Disagree0

To be honest, I can actually see Bates' point of view - the marches, chants, protests are doing us any good - the team WILL be affected, potential investors and sponsors WILL think twice (said this before but I used to work in the commercial dept which sells sponsorship - from player sponsors right upto stadium and shirt sponsorship deals and can vouch for how touchy sponsors can be so any negativity around the club will jeopardise current deals and any potentially new ones).

I don't like Bates by any means but any speculation about the asking price Bates has for us is just that....speculation as being truthful to ourselves, we have no idea and it's only what people on here have posted - unless any of us approach him directly and ask how much he wants then we'll never know. I want him to go as much as anyone but 99% of the things posted on here are based on what a lot of people want to believe NOT on facts, we all know that everything Bates does is on the downlow so how does anyone truly know what valuation he has of the club (to be fair I do actually believe he is most likely asking over the odds but that is not based on anything other than guess work)

We all need to get behind the club and team - yes I appreciate it's hard sometimes but matches and protests against Bates mean nothing to him, if anything he loves it. The sooner people realise it really makes no difference other than making themselves feel like they are standing up for a cause the better. MOT {Ed013's Note - Very good post}

Agree3 Disagree2

I guess that the marches and the protests are to let bates know that he's not fooling anyone and we are watching him, fair enough we might not be able to stop him but think it makes some of us feel better,we all love the club just we all can't agree on the actions if any to take.one day bates will be gone, lets hope soon hey,lol

Agree3 Disagree0

No it isn't speculation - his 90m valuation is on record

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately Bates put the money up for our club to keep it going, none of you did?

When you have the money to buy Bates out, you have my blessing, I am gratefull to still have my team to support, in spite and despite the idiots (with no money to invest) that think they know how to run the club... {Ed001's Note - only because all other offers were blocked by Bates. You do realise that right? You know before you go casting abuse at others, there were plenty of people willing to buy the club, none were able to because of a dodgy deal struck by Bates. Still, not as dodgy as giving Elland Road and Thorp Arch to himself and then charging the club rent to use it.}

im a leeds fan in london, had two fellow yorkshire men doing some building work on my house, so talking to them and they told me they stopped supporting leeds when we went down to league 1 and that they now support liverpool! wtf is going on!

Believable5 Unbelievable2

They were never true leeds fans then a real leeds fan would support them if they went in the ryman league

Agree9 Disagree2

I think you'll find they are called 'glory hunters' not 'supporters'.....

Agree5 Disagree0

{Ed020's Note - would rather they did'nt say that, its embarrising when people switch teams, yeah we all might follow another team and wish them on, but when you support a club, its for life, through the good times and bad!! i was fortunate enough to see leeds at the height through there champions league run!! and then i've been there when we lost to histon, but never would i say i'd stop supporting them. fndbgkjrndfg the original post has angered me a little. a true leeds fan would never turn his back on our club!}

Agree7 Disagree0

Not true Leeds fans - remember the tune ' weve been through it all together'

you know the rest - shame on them

Agree8 Disagree0

Im the person that made this post, and ed im with you it really angers me too! i mean support a team dont go swapping about ffs, just wish i didnt need the work doing to my house or id tell them to jog on!! {Ed013's Note - You should have thrown them out of your house mate, and checked their pockets before they left!}

Agree4 Disagree0

Tbh if they were glory hunters why support liverpool? lol

Anyone heard anymore about the earlier rumour about leeds businessman chris millers interest in investment in LUFC?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Well if you believe Ken, the fans wanting to know whats going on with the club and dareing to dissagree with him (naughty LUST) have put this guy off

Agree0 Disagree2

29 Feb 2012 13:29:47
I think Danny Webber might have the wrong idea about why we are called "Dirty Leeds"

"I played under Neil Warnock at Sheffield United and am looking forward to playing under him again "

"It's a case of sticking together "

"there's some good youth to crack on "

"I'll put it in, though, I'll go through the pain barrier "

"I can play in numerous positions and I can come in and get stuck in very quickly."

"everyone wants to come and beat you "

The boy is clearly out of control! {Ed020's Note - haha this made me laugh}

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Yeah, I can see the label of dirty leeds coming well back into the equation judging by the targets he`s got plus the trialist. Personally I think its what we need in the team.

29 Feb 2012 13:09:01
I think it's to late in the season for Warnock to get Leeds in the play off's but he will give it his best shot! Next season will be completly different with the likes of O'Brien, Vayrynen, Brown, Forsell all with contracts up soon can all leave as none of them have done anything for us. These 4 must be costing a small fortune in wages and are a complete waste of money!

To all you grayson lovers.. Typical tactics lastnight 2-0 up sat back and ended up drawing!

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Were you there so you can talk from a position of knowledge? If so then you're on the wrong board. Why are you still harping on about grayson? We have a new manager if you hadnt noticed and we'll see where we are in18 months before you can start to work out whether sacking grayson was a good move.

Agree3 Disagree6

Comment purely for banter purposes.. Ha

Agree4 Disagree0

29 Feb 2012 12:26:05
now i know all of you are gonna banter away off this but i'd like to see paynter back in the fold look the man is scoring goals again another 2 for reserves during the week i hope us fans would stop with the barn door billy laugh and get off his back now cos i think he may well be in with a shout with NW and why not the man was scoring for fun with swindon b4 who's not to say the man can hit form for us again but who knows the barn door billy stuff may just give him the incentive to prove us all wrong and start scoring for the 1st team i hope im right! irish leeds fan! MOT
p.s paynter SHOOTS and the crowd ducks lol!

Believable6 Unbelievable9

I think you've hit the St Patrick's Day drink a bit early mate!

All Paynter's done is score a couple in a behind-closed-doors meaningless friendly. He's not good enough for this league and never has been. When Simon Grayson signed him he was only 4th choice, we ended up with him thanks to Bates.

Agree8 Disagree2

When we signed paynter he was 1st choice along side mccormack .paynter got injured in pre season and was out for some time with a shin problem or something. thats the partnership that grayson was planning on anyway {Ed020's Note - i was so excited to start to watch paynter in the new season!! then his injury messed it up, along with his confidence!! hopefully if he's gets used we'll see a differant billy.}

Agree1 Disagree8

I remember his goal away at PNE pure class - he even had a chat with me after game when the players warmed down, really nice guy, him and Gradel stayed for photographs with me and the little one..! really hope he continues his form and has another shot under Warnock

Agree2 Disagree8

You misunderstand my friend. Paynter was Grayson's 4th choice TARGET, we only finished up with him because Bates wouldn't finance moves for better strikers.

Can anyone see BECCHIO with us next season ? I like the guy but he's slowed down to the point that I worry he's heading out. Done really well for us but I think his time has come

Believable8 Unbelievable15

He is improving, So hopefully warnock will keep him on

Agree12 Disagree4

Becchio was injured at the start of the season so has been playing catch-up fitness wise ever since. With a full summer, he'll be fine next season.

Can't believe how many Leeds "fans" have slagged him this season. I've never seen a striker work as hard for any Leeds team as Becchio.

Agree15 Disagree4

Becchio work hard? having watched him all season I would beg to differ. Never blessed with pace, he now seems even slower and he constantly falls over at the first hint of any contact.
Somma is an all round better player and will be like a new signing next season.
Sell Becchio for as much as we can get for him.

Agree4 Disagree11

Absolute tosh mate, if you can't see how hard Becchio works I think a trip to Specsavers should be in order.

As for Somma, he looked good coming off the bench but didn't do much when he started games.

Agree11 Disagree2

I disagree, becchio has looked sloppy and weak. I agree that he isnt himself but isnt that what reserve games are for? Grayson put him back in the 1st team too soon. Plus we were playing better before he came back, not much better mind. MOT.

Agree1 Disagree9

Its alright for someone to work hard for the team if they are any good!It seems that Becchio has lost his way and hopefully under a new manager he will find his form again.

Agree1 Disagree10

Becchio as just always got the injury in the back of his mind its just a matter of gaining confidence and forgetting about the injury he had then his game will pick up .

Agree7 Disagree1

I've really seen it all on here today! People bigging-up Billy "one goal" Paynter and slagging off a striker who's scored goals consistently for us for a few years now. Ridiculous!

Agree9 Disagree0

Becchio Is a joke. He has no pace can't hold it up and has no movement to run any if the channels. He is an ineffective target man and the poster who said that we were playing better football before he came back into the side was right. He was meant to be 3rd choice striker last season and only scored 20 goals because of the service he had from howson, snodgrass and gradel. He has been found out this season and I agree we should find someone who can do the job in this league and the pl. Can you see becchio being our top goal scorer or leading the line if we were promoted? {Ed013's Note - Your opinion, however I strongly disagree. Becchio is a very good player that wins balls, scores goals and grafts for his team. OK he isn't as good this season, but neither has the rest of the team. He came back from injury at a bad time and low on confidence}

Agree0 Disagree2

Becchio a joke? I think we know who the real joke is!

look im all for mills coming if it happens.ill support any player warnock brings him to give the bloke a chance.only worry with mills is he comes,plays great then leicester recall him if theres a clause.after all with still the remote possibility of play offs would a team with same thoughts want to help us..
i think he was a quality player at reading but lost his way at leicester.webber prob wasnt what i was expecting but lets give him the chance..shrew leeds

Believable3 Unbelievable8

According to reports Mills wants to stay and fight for his place with Fester now anyway. i think he would be a cracking signing tbh but i just dont think we will pull it off.
