Does anyone know if Paynter played today for Brighton? Or was it too soon?

Just wondering who Bates will sell for peanuts this transfer window any thoughts ?

He resisted good money for Snoddy in the summer so I think you're being unfair.

Those we let go free were being greedy and we had no control at the end of their contracts. They weren't that good anyway.

Schmeichel was a liability. A decent stopper which looks great on Sky but flapped at crosses and didn't command his box at all intelligently. That's what the real fans at the games saw. Leicester's offer was a godsend. His dad he was not.

Losing Max was a bit disappointing in some ways because he'd become a bit of a cult hero and we all loved him but, truth be told, he nearly cost us promotion, played with his head down most of the time, made a lot of bad decisions on the ball by holding on to it way too long and was reckless when defending. Nearly always deserved the cards he got - the first card at the Boro game excepted.

We actually look a lot stronger on the left with Pugh & Aidy White.

First reply was spot on. To answer the original question though the people who may be sold for peanuts in the next window are likely to be the likes of bruce, o'brian, bromby and others who don't make the first team and get branded as 'league 1 at best' by people on this site.

I think the first reply massively understates the importance of Max to us..... lets be realistic, the promotion sending off was season before last. 18 goals last season and great on the break and at unlocking a defence. To lose him was a massive blow, especially with no like for like replacement.

Disagree with the last poster and think subsequent events have proved my point. Max scored plenty, yes, but we shipped goals on the left and ultimately that cost us a play off place. As a team we'd have had more goals if he'd made better passing decisions and we'd have conceded fewer without the red mist that descended over him. He conceded free kicks in dangerous areas, gave the ball away a lot and always looked like a red card waiting to happen. I'd have kept him but I always saw him as an impact player. In any case, he asked to leave which left the board and manager no option. And he didn't go for peanuts either - which was the impression the original poster wanted to imply. We got good money for the in-contract players we sold.
