Sadly I can't believe the Howson Post - it is fantasy to think Premiership Clubs would want him but If true I will also pay his taxi fare - he's the most overated player (because he's a local boy) ever to wear the white shirt - looks the part covers a lot of ground around the park (but so does my dog) - positional inept can't tackle, close down, mark, and the few times he has the ball is increasingly looking technically flawed particularily compared to Clayton's midfield contribution.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

In contrast, he works hard, has a good touch, picks out through balls and scores vital goals. all you ask for from an ATTACKING midfielder.

Agree4 Disagree1

Hes a good solid player give him a break he is only 22. he wont go he knows where his prioties lie. he captain at leeds. got good group of lads. look what he has done last seasonm scoring a good amount of goals.. give him a break.

Agree2 Disagree4

There's nowt wrong with our Jonny,it's the 4 playing behind him that's the problem.

Agree2 Disagree5

It's a dream for fans to have a Leeds lad as captain playing for his home town club - but to all Howson supporters - take your rose tinted specs off for a minute, pretend he was born elsewhere and realise he is not good enough to be in the team let alone wear the armband - he is lightweight and ineffective, goes missing most games, - watch on Saturday how many times he is involved in play either defending or with the ball compared to Clayton.

Agree3 Disagree1

It's rose tinted man again. take your blinkers off, gloom merchant.

Agree1 Disagree0

I know it's difficult to just watch 1 player when a game is on but lets spend 15 minutes of the game just watching Johnny Howson against Pompey and then give a considered and informed opinion sfter. Most people are just going by their impression like with Michael Doyle who seemed to do nothing - until he wasn't there and we realised whatever he was doing we were missing it the season after.

Agree2 Disagree0

Thing is, who would you prefer to play? Vayrynen? Who's completely untested, who's to say he's any better? Jonny might not hold a candle to Clayton at the moment but Song didn't to Fabregas at arsenal, doesn't mean that he's not okay for the league we're in.

Agree1 Disagree0

Most over rated player to wear a white shirt? anyone else see Darren Huckerby?

On 28th September 2011, Leeds manager Simon Grayson revealed that Parnaby was on trial with the Yorkshire club. Stuart is one of many options we are looking at , some like Stuart are free agents, others are loans, obviously the defence is an area we are looking to strengthen, Parnaby is an experienced pro with proven quality and if he can prove his fitness he is an option we will seriously consider

Delighted With The New Layout To Elland Rd Leeds Fans Behind Both Sets Of Goals Will Make Elland Rd Very Difficult To Play At, Leeds Have Always Looked Livlier This Season Playin Into The Kop Also Given The Dearest Tickets To The Away Fans A Masterstroke We Might Have A Shot At Playoffs If We Get A Decent Run At Home Anything Gained Away Will Be A Bonus

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Won't improve our defence though.

To all those people who want howson to go,I can guarantee one thing,Mr leeds utd will be here a lot longer than you.people make me sick just because players ie howson snodgrass are goin through a rough patch people want them out, let me tell you one thing, our club would be a lot worse off without them so let's lay off and let them find there form if you can't get behindall the team go support someone else.

Nice to see we wait until there is less than 12 months to run on a players contract before offering a new deal...yet again. Howson is clearly an asset, regular, captain and England under 21 cap. 10+ goals last season. Cheers Leeds. You CANT keep delaying new deals. We keep losing players.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

What on earth is this club I've supported for over 40 years doing !
All the players you expect to grow and develop together are just cast aside, and now there is the potential of yet another (Howson) leaving .The support for the club is unrivalled and yet all Leeds fans must wonder in desperation of when we will ever return to the 'top table' of football in this country if this policy continues !

Agree2 Disagree1

The squad had a nucleus of young promising players. our midfield from last year was second to none in the division, and would have only improved (with an average age of around 23). it's disheartening to see what has happened.

whats everyones thoughts on johnny howson signing a new contract? with some of the stick on here, would some of us be really bothered if we got a good price for him?

personally, i have faith in him, & i think true leeds fans all do too, he's had a shaky start to a shaky season for leeds, but, when criticism shows through, he proves his worth as captain. i want him to sign, others who call for his sale, i honestly don't feel your true white and blue fans. M.O.T bring on the rest of the season.

SIGN A NEW CONTRACT JOHNNY!

Just because someone disagrees with your opinion you say their not a true Leeds fan - What's that aLL about!!

Lees Bruce? O'Dea? Pugh

Vayrynen Clayton

Keogh Howson White

McCormack

Just out of interest, why have we not tried this sort of formation yet? We all know we are struggling at the back, so now that we have an abundance of midfielders, why not try 2 holding players rather than just the 1? It would give valuable cover to the defence, which is obviously short on confidence, and it would allow the full backs to advance, as there would be cover on either side when teams try to counter. If we're struggling at any point, Becchio / Forsell can come on, and McCormack can drop into the Howson role quite comfortably, and White and Keogh can easily be replaced by Snodgrass, Nunez or Sam.

I've popped the question marks next to the centre backs', as I really don't know what our strongest pairing is, but then again, nobody else really does either. Like to know what you guys think......

MOT! wms

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Ok but for me the attacking set could be better :

snodgrass howson mccormak

becchio

Agree2 Disagree1

McCormack is playing well ( and he said it himself) because he has a strike partner (keogh) so why change the frontline. McCormack is top scorer in the championship at the minute so we shouldn't mess with the frontline, we need to sort out the back 4

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes, we don't have a problem scoring, having the 2 holding players would give better cover to the defence, which is where the issues are. Can't play 442, One holding player isn't enough for me, especially away from home (should have stated in my original post, that this would primarily be my setup away from home).

Agree2 Disagree1

Fair point mate, I see where your coming from now!

Agree2 Disagree1

Can have ross on his own, always best to have a bigger guy up there who can hold the ball up for others to join the attack, kinda what luciano did last season, keep it as 4-4-2

Away fans will have to dig deep in there pockets to attend Elland Road from now on, £36 adult £25 junior for saturdays game v Pompey,£25 for a kid to watch 2nd tier football is a disgrace.

It is Munya Mbanje and posted in the Herald Online.

"Munya Mbanje lights up Leeds
Monday, 26 September 2011 02:00
From Phillip Zulu in LEEDS, England
ON Tuesday September 20 at Thorpe Arch, young Zimbabwe-born player Munyaradzi Mbanje scored a gem of a goal as he volleyed an unstoppable shot from about 35 yards.
It was a goal that oozed all the qualities, talent, imagination and sublime skills of a would-be great football player.
That goal alone sent the whole of Leeds United Football Club Academy into nostalgia, rekindling memories of the once great Leeds United when they reached the semi-finals of the Uefa Champions League."
Everybody started talking about one of the greatest goals ever at Elland Road when Leeds played against Liverpool in the '90s when Ghanaian striker Tony Yeboah blasted a volley from about 35 yards out.
It's a goal that was being compared by all the mesmerised Leeds United members who saw that goal a reminder of the true silky skills of Munyaradzi Mbanje, a Zimbabwean youth aged 15 who was having his first trial game against Middlesborough Under-16. Leeds United were trailing by a single goal before half-time and they were outplayed during the first 45 minutes and everything looked gloomy until the emergence of Munya as a second half substitute.

I hope he is good.....

Agree0 Disagree1

I live in Spain and it's out here already! Not to sure why, I was unde the impression that it was out on Friday but walked into the shop last night and there it was! I have tried to transfer both players but they are not at there previous clubs or on free agents so it looks like they are not on the game. On a good note, Leeds player ratings are quite good with Becchio prob being the best one. The new kits look awesome, every detail on it including the ohs
