Adam Pearson was involved when "we lived the dream" I wouldn't want him anywhere near the club

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Apr 2014 09:17:07
I'm sure he left the club before we went on the spending spree because he didn't agree with how the then owners were structuring the finances against champions league qualification and could see the writing on the wall if it went wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he was not . Adam Pearson passed the club on in a great state to peter live the dream risdale. Then Adam Pearson took hull from the bottom all the way up to the premiership. Get him back in ASAP .Mot.

I don't know if anyone else has raised this as I don't read every post (sorry Ed) but, as a season ticket holder, I haven't been asked for any money yet. In previous years the forms were out in Feb and if you didn't get them back pronto you lost the discount. So by the end of March in previous years, assuming 10,000 people signed up at £500 a ticket, that would have been £5 million in the bank. This year, unless mine and my mate's letters got lost in the post, the club have had nothing. No wonder the cash flow is poor and we can't pay the players!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Cellino stopped the renewal forms coming out as he didn't agree with taking money off of the fans so early}

According to social media from Phil Hay & Adam Pope, Together Leeds & Cellino are in discussions about joining forces. This has been confirmed by mike Farnan.

I wonder why Survivor Jeff didn't let us know about this. Cellino and Farnan in discussions for 48hrs

Frankly speaking, I really don't give a poop any more. GFH, The FL, The Players, The Manager, The Perspective Buyers, Cellino have all mad a complete joke of the season.

Rack (a hint of classic Neighbours coming out there) off the lot of you. Bring on next season. and hopefully a new book, not chapter of Leeds United can come to light.

I've just watched BMcD's interview on the web site and he's moaning about not having a settled site to pick from!
He chops and changes his side for fun, introducing poor loan players into a team that wasn't doing too bad, probably over achieving, up until Christmas, then moans about his self inflicted situation. Granted we needed more quality but he's ripped the side apart. Personally I think he's lost the dressing room, there's only a couple of his players who appear to want to stand up and be counted.
Where's the fire, the blood and guts, the 'us against the world' attitude. A message to McD - Stop moaning, do what you get paid to do and motivate that lack lustre bunch into something credible that your proud to manage.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate it's all very well saying that but the truth plain and simple is HE CAN'T!

What happens when MC gets peed off with putting in millions and the others can't match his commitment and that on top of the fact that MC is an autocrat and will want to call the shots!

A recipe for disaster it will be more friction in the club. It really does need to be MC on his own

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see a problem. MC will be far and away the highest share holde. any one else who joins will have to bend the knee. This will probably help get around the FL nonsense with some form of new board that will satisfy them and save us from our nightmare.

Take over by stealth! Cellino is not stupid and if the others can't do their bit and come up with the goods then he will force em out! In the meantime, I will take anything that provides stability for the club. Only word of caution would be too many chefs and all that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Merv. There's some decent businessmen in this consortium without mega bucks and there's MC who knows how to run a footie club, is a shrewd businessman no doubt and loadsamoney. If they really call on the sum of the parts of such a consortium it might for once be a recipe for success at LUFC.

ED I think you need cheering up again.

A WOMAN'S WISHFUL POEM:

Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man who's not a creep,
One who's handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who'll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he's rich and self-employed,
And when I spend, won't be annoyed.
Pull out my chair and hold my hand.
Massage my feet and help me stand.
Oh send a king to make me queen.
A man who loves to cook and clean.
I pray this man will love no other.
And relish visits with my mother.

A MAN'S REBUTTAL :

I pray for a deaf-mute gymnast nymphomaniac with
big BOOBS who owns a bar on a golf course,
and loves to send me fishing and drinking. This
doesn't rhyme and I don't give a s++te. MOT

why do people seem to think footballers are over paid?
They have worked very hard to get where they are
yrs and yrs of training most days every week . they have been on strict diets .you wouldn't be moaning the wages were too much if you had the skill that they have

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How old are you. 3?
overpaid with no more skill than some sunday pub players
years of training would ensure you actually score from the easiest spot on the pitch. the penalty spot!

As a life long Leeds supporter, I can only look at the ongoing farce and wonder was Bates the monster he was painted out to be.He turned the club around and still was not wanted, hounded to sell his majority share to these real monsters Gulf finance whose only interest was to make money off the name of Leeds United "a sleeping giant"
I ask the question if Bates was in charge today would the club be looking down the barrel of a loaded shotgun today. I myself doubt it, I agree that we would not be in the PL but we would be a stable club with the hope that we may someday return to the former glory we had. Instead we are waiting on a judge in London to decide if he should pull the trigger, which I firmly believe he will and send us to league one and administration, exactly what these greedy Gulf finance people deserve.

Ok thanks Ed013. It must be a nightmare trying to keep up! Anyway while i'm on, this potential collaboration between Cellino and Farnan, do you think it could get round the FL even if he is turned down in his own right?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - It appears he owns 75% regardless, if he fails he is entitled to sell to who he wants and therefore could sell 45% to Together Leeds and still be involved with Leeds, just not as a majority investor. He could also sell the whole 75% to Together Leeds and attempt to get the last 25% remaining. There are so may scenarios that could happen, but it does seem that he wants a piece of Leeds if he fails the owners test}

For gods sake save our club, our city and allow Massimo Cellino the privilege of owning Leeds United.
I will never ask for anything else from you.
We are a great northern city and we need a top class Premiership football club and the country needs us as well.
If he is refused permission then administration is on the cards so please consider the possible affect on local businesses, employment etc and give the bloke a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im afraid if the law is strictly applied he's doomed to fail, neither divine intervention, sentiment, nor any other mitigating circumstance wil be taken into account, and as its Leeds United the letter of the law will be applied, the media have made this into a test case and no leniency will apply, our saving grace may lay in him not being proved guilty in Italian courts unti lafter appeal, will the QC allow the takeover until after appeal?, I hope so, or another buyer waiting in the wings to save us from admin, however, I don't suppose a few prayers will hurt, whatever the outcome, Leeds forever.

We need Cellino. This man is telling it how it is, he's not lieing. Someone of Mr Cellino's stature will whip this club in to shape and sort out the lazy ones on the pitch. Last few games we have just looked so lost. Cellino will put money in to this club & get us back to where we belong, good business and this has to be good for the FL, SO COME ON FL LET HIM TAKE CHARGE

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, to all those who question or don't want Cellino, what would you prefer. Squabbling consortiums that have no real funding, sewer rats after a pension fund, liars cheats and mischief makers. OK he is eccentric, wears his heart on his sleeve and has a "past". I guarantee you he is not as bad as some who have been in power and still are. The simple fact is, we need a major transfusion and he is the only proper donar. Well, that's what I think anyway!

I am prepared to accept that players would be slightly affected in motivation and concentration through not having their wages or the uncertainty of the future (irrelevant of how we all feel about footballers being paid too much money), however I do not accept it as the sole reason for the abysmal performances of the team. It is quite clear that the manager has no ability to motivate, select the correct personnel in the correct places or communicate understandable tactics to the team. Last night the team in the first half tried to retain the ball however did not have the quality to play that killer pass in the final third. However our illustrious manager decided that a straight swop for Smith and Hunt was in order (eybrows raised by all), but then the team continued to smack high balls as if the 6ft 6in striker was still on the park. The introduction of Poleon to add some pace to attack was the next substitution as we were chasing the game. Ah! I thought, he is taking off Wooton to play three at the back to commit more bodies to midfield and attack, but no. Instead Brian decides to retain a 4-4-2 and to top it off puts White on the right (no right foot) and Poleon on the left (no Left foot). Listening to this person on the radio during my journey home made me scream blue murder, apparently it is not fair to suggest that he should be sacked because what he has had to put up with and then he started getting snippy with Popey for daring to ask such soft questions. You should get sacked for your appaling results, the team's crap performances, the waste of resources i.e. Hunt 25K, the decision to ship out players to reduce the wage bill (or remove them who dare question your authority) yet still leave Jimmy Kebe at the club whilst "injured".

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said mate, my sentiments exactly.

Agree0 Disagree0

He also said Leeds United are a joke, both on and off the field, that's about the only thing you got right, all you should be concerned with is how we perform on the pitch, everything else is nothing to do with you, its no joke your dragging us to a relegation battle, nor the team nor tactics your using, he says we must go to Wigan looking to win, in your dreams Brian, honestly can't see where the next win is coming from, no fight, no guile, no passion and no hope, put him on gardening leave and put ANYBODY else in charge, can't do any worse, without doubt the worst manager we've ever had, even makes Warnock look good, get your spade out Bri.

I'm not as clued up as some with regard to the 'Fit and Proper Persons Test' and although I think it's a good thing in principle I can't for the life of me see how GFH can get around deliberately putting us into administration if they have the funds available to avoid this scenario. If, they don't have the funds, this should have been identified when they were tested, if they do, they shouldn't be allowed to put us into administration as it's not in the best interests of the club?!

I can't get my head around this. Maybe this won't happen but there's a lot of people think we are heading for admin under these chancers. What do others think?

Cheers.

I have now reached the end after the last two performances you don't mind as much if you loose and the players at least tried or show they do care. Even back in the 80's you did like going to watch them they might have been crap but they loved playing for Leeds. This now must be the worse team what has gone wrong since December and it can not be all put on the take over I just hope the takeover goes through and in the summer a big clear out is done.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said - What we need is a team of Andy Hughes' - now there was a player who didn't have much skill, but he had pride hard work and commitment along with a passion for the club and was very successful.

After watching that load of garbage again last night I fear the worst for us I really do.

We are 12pts above relegation zone, there are only 21pts still to play for.

We have 7 games left, Birmingham, Barnsley and Blackpool who are all fighting for survival.

Derby, Watford, Wigan and Forest who are all still in with playoff chances.

We have taken 4pts from our last 10 games (relegation form)

I personally can see us going down without us going into administration. I just hope that Massimo Cellino gets to own Leeds and still wants us as a League 1 side.

All I can see for us at the minute is the following.

Cellino gets approved, we get relegated to League 1.

I would hope that if cellino gets approved performances would improve and brian would be sacked. Look how we played last time he got sacked.

This great club is teetering on the brink . I was there to watch another terrible performance. Hunt even had the nerve to gee the fans up when the penalty was awarded. There manager contested every decision gave instructions . looked interested, McDonut just littered the technical area with half empty water bottles. What does he write on his paper? it is all becoming too much to bare for the fans, we know we have been taken for a ride as everybody gets rich from the toil of our everyday working fans .There were many there straight from work others changed shifts, most explained to there other half that the season would be over soon and the holiday pot would be topped up. I was one of the unlucky few who went tonight. Well done to all the fans at the game for waiting until the last few minutes before venting their anger on GFH and David Haigh. Well done also for not getting on the players' backs.
We then drove home, me and my long suffering mate, and heard the woeful Mr McDermott. I have been in posts where I have had to turn around a struggling business with no extra cash and a disinterested bunch of 'professionals'. It's not nice but you need to crack on and get the best out of them and make it work.
I hasten to add I have never received the sort of salary our great manager is paid but then as someone in football he has probably forgotten the value of a pound.
But Brian, you need to see that your haphazard team selections and poor man management are costing the club dear. You had Aidy White on the right wing and Dom Poleon on the left wing. Young Dom is still finding his way as a striker at this level, give him a break! You took off big Smithy and replaced him with a little ball of energy (25,000 volts worth apparently) and then continued to pump the long ball up the park!
By the end of it no one knew what was going on or where. We threw every thing at them, but only in the last seven minutes.
You know you're there this weekend, it's inevitable. Think about stability, think about who plays where. Think about who plays which position. Think about the style of play. Pick a team in their proper positions. Give them some roles that they understand. Give them options. Have a plan for when things don't work. Make sure your alternatives know their roles and so do the rest of the team. Good luck Brian but I would reserve the best of luck to Massimo.

Agreed and good post. Basics that we should not have to be posting to a so called coach who just seemd clueless since his arrival! No poor team selection, no tactics lack of match awareness with no understanding how to counter other teams.
