Tried to post earlier but for some reason it was not put on the sight, why is it that nearly every player we have tried to sign has turned us down flat it is totally out of order whats going on at Leeds, we have been loyal fans with an average of over 28000 per match at home over the last two seasons and we were one of only two teams in the championship to make a clear profit last year and we are expected to be one of four that will make a profit this year, we give our cash willingly and loyally every week in the hope our club and team will move forward once again and take there place in the top level of English football once again, I know it is important to live within your means but this is taking the p*ss, the board of directors are taking there slice every year and they are improving the ground for even bigger gains in the future but whats the use of being a well off club if we don't give ourselves a descent chance of winning something on the pitch, quickest way to make 60 mill is to get promoted so come on at least give us something worth watching every week and a glimmer of hope of seeing our great club do well once again.

Guys, let's all take stock here.....the transfer window doesn't close until end of august so stop panicking Also look at some of the teams who were struggling by mid season last year, reading being a prime example so even if we have a slow start, every team will drop points this season as I see it and I don't think we'll be far away if not well in the mix again. Let's have some positivity leading up to Saturday and for the season, let's only worry if by Christmas we're in a delegation fight which I'm confident we won't be MOT always

Rumours around elland rd today acc to workmen the east stand will not be ready and passed by health and safety by next tues, therefore forcing them to postpone the carling cup and been hit with a big fine or even expulsion from the comp.

Don't talk out of your ar$e. If it isn't ready, it doesn't open.. SIMPLE really. Do you really expect to sell more than 20,000 tickets for that on a Tuesday night when it is on the box too... Go give your head a shake.. :@)

Why the obsession with our squad being thin? " midfielders left 2x goalkeepers left and 1x centre half. 2 x goalkeepers signed, 1x midfielder signed. 1x centre half back from long term injury. 1x left bacvk back from long term injury, and 4x players in various positions back from loan spells. We have quality, not just in the first team but also in reserve, how many clubs will have players like nunez, sam and possibly mendy sat out because of the quality in front of them. Lets at least get a couple of games in before we all start worrying about relegation. I can see promotion this year for us and not through the playoffs but through automatic. Forget numbers of signings take a look at the other squads in that league then tell me player for player who is better off than us, cos it'll be a short list.

Here's an independent view of who is more likly to get promotion ahead of us. Taken from all the bookies you could think off.

with ipswich and blackpool at the same odds as us.

There's at least 9 that have got bigger and better than us, let's face it west ham are home and hosed believe me there squad and leicesters has 15 16 players who could change a game we have say 12 13 players who are good enough and a couple who are unproven, there is a difference between proven in that league and unproven, we need 3 more quality players, if you think mendy and sam are the answer you wrong.

Yeah and boro were massive favourites last year and look how that ended up. Get yourself off paddy power and actually look at some of their squads. Non stands out as quality.

The bookies are always more right than wrong genius, how do you think they make their money lol. Its an independent view of how the season will pan out, just because your deluded dont blame the bookie. We finished 7th last season, largely due to a dodgy as f**k defence. Who have we brought in to sort that defence nobody. We have paddy back from injury thats the only IMPROVEMENT and no sign of lichi returning. Our main striker out for god knows how long. If you want to bet on us getting automatic promo go for it im sure they will happy take your money.

The bookies can think what they want. It's obvious our squad isn't complete yet so no-one knows how strong or otherwise our regular first team will be.

By the way, what were the odds on Leeds beating the filth on January 3rd 2010? They're not always right

Exactly our squad isn't complete. News flash the season starts on saturday. You would imagine the bookies see a solid defence as a must have to give yourself a shot at promo. We had one of the worst defences in the championship last year qpr conceded less than half the goals we conceded last year. As for the odds on us beating the scum well anyone can win the lottery mate and thats what we have at the moment a lottery ticket.

Newsflash mate, we've still got until the end of August to build the squad so why don't you wait until we know exactly who's in and who's not? It's really not rocket science.

Oh and by the way, Kisnorbo's back - one of the reasons we beat scum. Now that's what I call PADDY POWER.

Why wait the original post was about this current squad being good enough for auto promotion as it stands im saying its not so what are you on about? just browsing the first team squad on the official site and notice we have 6 midfielders 7 if you include snodgrass im 50/50 weather or not if this is enough beleivable for yes unbelievable for no... by the way im nt slating larry or the club its just somethinng im unsure about

7 Midfield players is not enough when taking into consideration we play with 5 only leaving us with 2 players as cover, I'm sure someone will becoming in for this area most likely Mendy and a central midfielder.

Season kicks off on Saturday and we have a thin squad. Can't believe we haven't even brought in cover strikers after injuries to Becchio and Somma.......... I really hope that Bates realises that you can't win a title running on fumes man

In my opinion andrews not signing has cheered me up he obviously doesn't think he will get as many games at leeds showing that the midfield isn't as bad as thought

Would however like to see a solid left back and center mid player that is a definite starting 11 player so we are not so reliant on 11 players

I can see a lot riding on how good aidy white clayton and lees

People are saying the squad we have is good enough no prob 13 of our 25 man squad are the rest no, some have potential but are a bit young like, turner twins, cairns, lees but bessone , grella, paynter, bruce and probably truth be told aidy white who I don't think is in graysons plans.so take them out of your squad that leaves 15 what I would call 1st team squad and that includes somma and becchio so that leaves 13 for 1st game where can Simon improve things through a game he can't, also let's hope no injuries I'm been realistic lets not raise the expectancy levels to high, midtable at best unless we get 3 or 4 in by sat

Best post for a long time .....unless we sign 3 or 4 quality players our threadbear squad is in real trouble. Don't be fooled by Sunday they are as much up sh*t creek as we are at the moment. 2 injuries in centre midfield and we would be screwed

The team we have are more than capable of competing in the league this season, but I do think its time to start panicking about the way we are loosing every playing were linked with to other clubs far too easy. the wage capping has got us secure but we neva gunna get promotion at this rate, it appears no one will play for the money were offering.....M.O.T.

Fella's, think we all need to calm down, short of Leicester and the recent surge from Ipswich not many of the clubs have had lots of activity going on. All teams are being careful due to the new FIFA Fair play rules next year. I think unless massive investment comes into any team it is pretty quiet until agents realise there players are not worth what they think. Alot of clubs will be doing business beyond the start of the season and then moving onto loans. That aside I still feel we have what it takes to be in and around the top 6 come the end of the season, because if you look atour team we need squad players to keep 1st XI on there toes Improvements will come at a price and I think we not see much money spent until January, I think the board and management want to see how the current squad preforms now

No they dont we are missing out on signings because we wont pay the going rate end of story. PPl can make up lies in their heads to justify the weakness of the squad with statements like we are giving youth a chance, gimme a break. Are squad is paper thin but dont worry we will bulk it up with the leftovers no-one else wants.

It's becoming painful reading so many rumours and then seeing them all going to other clubs... I do think that Leeds' best team this season is 'on paper' stronger than last season but we have no strength in depth which really is a concern. If we had a bad run of injuries ie. Gradel, Snograss, Howson out then the Leeds team really would be in trouble. We do need to make a few more signings (especially in defence) but I think that Bates is tighter than a ducks arse in water... but you never know MOT

I have supported Leeds since 1967 and have never wavered and never will but that doesn't mean I can't be pi**ed off that KB has not reinvested any of the delph money, the compensation for numerous kids and income from TV and football leagues biggest crowds back in to the team.

I'm not one of the fans that will moan about the lack of signings, however I'm extremely worried that given our negligible improvement on last seasons squad, we won't get promoted, then next summer I fear we'll lose all our top players, then we have to start again.

Something isn't right at Elland Road. Why are players chosing other teams over Leeds, which have one of the best stadiums, THE BEST FANS, and some of the best training facilities in the country. For Keith Andrews to chose Ipswich over Leeds is rediculous. I can only imaging it is down to money, and if we cannot afford to get players like Andrews and many many others that have chosen other Championship teams over Leeds, then we are in a poor state.
I have great confidence in the team that we currently have, but no-one can dispute that we need more cover in certain areas, without which could leave us struggling..

Yea i agree something doesnt seem right, we have some great players in gradel, howson, snoddy, kisnorbo and becchio. and everyday im thinking if some are going to leave and we aren't bringing in named players quite worrying i think

Maybe Grayson is confident in his squad already. maybe a few short term loans are all that's required to provide cover for the players here already.
