442 have tipped us to come 11th and Norwich and the Wendies as top two. Not sure how either has improved their team to understand that. Interested to know why everyone is tipping us to fall down the table. If it's all because the messiah left, then why couldn't he finish in the top 6 with an 11 point gap?

Don't think it's because of who has gone. Probably more to do with TC being new to the league and unproven- as yet. Can't wait for kick off to see what we can do and how we will set up and change up - if required. No more one trick ponies. MOT

That's funny because I am tipping 442 to come 11th out of 11 of important revenue producing football magazines.

Does anyone else think that the money being paid for fees for players and wages. Neymar reportedly being paid £515k a week with a £180m fee. Is completely obscene. Should UEFA and FIFA step in and set a cap on this stupidity for the sake off the smaller clubs. Example off smaller clubs I mean bottom half off prem lge and lower. Anywer less than top 4 la liga. Top 2/3 ligue 1. And top 3 seri A. ? These clubs are pulling further away from the rest off their leagues. And creating a mini league off their own. Is it going to only get worse. ? Or is it, the quicker we get up the better to get a share off the spoils. ? Lol. 👍⚽️😃

Totally agree batty. i heard 650k a week tax free. they can't though can they? its business, you can as a PLC pay employees what you want I believe

Someone get a Leeds fan to go back in time to when Neymar was a toddler and get Publicity to put in a cheeky loan bid for like 30 years in a 3 decade contract. He can mortgage the fish and not buy Seth Johnson. Only the least human looking fan could survive the radioactivity of the machine. Ausman, we'll beam you up once mission complete .

Great interview with Rads, he is here for the long term and has invested £100m, he also realises it might take a few years to get promoted . Will we have strengthened enough to achieve top 2 from a seventh place finish last time ? Just need those last few pieces for the jigsaw. Think the squad is lots stronger this season, we are edging closer and closer .

I'm hoping the bids rejected by Bristol City are from wheeler dealer 'Arry at Brum and that they're that p**sed off with him that they refuse to do business with the old cock spappa. Then in comes Radz flashing the big bucks and four year contracts and signs both Flint and Bryan. UTW DTP MM

Flint is worse than Cooper. Really don't get the obsession some fans have with him.

02 Aug 2017 19:15:59
Have to disagree SG, living in Bristol I've been to a fair few games and he looks very solid, very few mistakes and is very similar to Captain Magic Hat, although I would argue a better temperament (less suspensions) I really think that flint could definitely be the answer.

02 Aug 2017 19:24:42
I've not seen him play personally SG so I can't argue, although you're probably the first person I've heard say he is bobbins. MM

02 Aug 2017 19:53:11
Being club captain and has been a few years when ayling was in team and other decent enough players. I'd find it hard to understand to make him captain if he was worse than cooper. Only seen him a couple off times when on telly. But gitbthe impression he was decent enough. Won most headers he jumps for and scores a few goals. So in y opinion would be a good squad member or back up. but I'd say he would definitely be pushing for a starting place. That's if we are even in for him. ? 👍⚽️😃

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 19:58:06
His passing percentage is something like 55%, he's slow, he's not going to get any better and Bristol City conceded 66 goals, so he's hardly a colossus. He scores a few headers from corners, so fans are desperate to sign him.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 20:33:05
Teams defend from the front nowadays. There is a keeper and 3/4 other defenders if using wing backs plus your defensive midfielders. So surely the 66 goals leaked wasn't all his doing. ? Just think he would be a good squad member. My opinion. 👍👍⚽️😂😂

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 21:45:38
A lot to pay for a squad member matty. A player that's established as a regular and a captain isn't going to settle for a bit part role in my opinion.

02 Aug 2017 22:36:52
Yes slough. In my first post I said I think he'd be pushing for starting place. But with jansson and Pennington who I think under his loan agreement is too start when fit he will ha e to start in squad and push for starting place. Are we even in for him ? Lol. 😂😂⚽️👍

Ouasim Bouy formerly of Juve has been signed on a free and immediately loaned out to Cultural Leonesa. 24 years of age and once highly rated but failed to fulfil the potential. i guess we will see if he can rediscover the magic and if not ta ta. interesting that we signed him for 4 years though - if he turns out to be pants we will probably be stuck paying his wages. I'm not a big fan of this Cultural Leonesa feeder thing - not sure who benefits apart from Bravo at the moment.

Does anyone know why he had a medical at City anyway? usually the medicals for Leeds are done at Thorpe Arch aren't they?

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 14:06:43
Yes, it's a canny new trick from Radz and 'Gus. Get the player to go to City, have a look around the stadium, show him the facilities, the trophies etc and then when he's sold on the idea of playing European football, give him a medical, sign him up followed by a clip around the ear and tell him to get down the M62 for 45 miles to Leeds and stop whinging. I've seen it done on deadline day if a player can't make it to the club on time alf however it seems strange in the middle of the window. Two potential reasons for it though 1. We could be doing up the medical facilities at thorpe arch as part of the refurb so ours are out of order 2. City have a state of the art facility, could Rad be sending our team there to see if it is worth upgrading ours to a higher standard?

So ladies and gents. time for end of season predictions I think. we've seen pre season, seen the signings. time to put it all together and predict the season! I'm going for top 6, just. I think we will have an indifferent start while everyone gets used to each other etc, then gradually pick up speed. well play some exciting, attacking football and think we will have some 3/4-0 wins for a change. We may replicate Fulham last season. That's me, would love to be proved wrong and do a Brighton, but don't see it just yet. Either way, good luck lads. youll do us proud I'm sure! MOT

Its diff as not seen us play yet. Think we have a better team. Only real loss is bartley and we have that covered. Worried about wood. Midfield should be heaps better. So should be top 6.

02 Aug 2017 10:21:39
I see it differently Aus. i don't think we have covered Bartley. i think that is our real missing link and a big worry.

02 Aug 2017 10:58:49
I think top 6 should be our target this year. Review that in the New year to see if any more is possible. I agree, the team is better than last year, less dependent on Wood, more attacking options and I am sure we will still reinforce the defensive options before the window closes . We also have a much better board, with a clear plan and structure. it will be interesting to see the side against Port Vale. A quick chance for some of those not picked for the Bolton game to lay down a claim. Can't wait for Sunday!

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 12:08:29
Right this second I don't think we are top 6 sadly. Our attack should be lot better this year but our defense feels really weak. Pennington looks good but not promotion material and Cooper is Lg1, a bit worried for the Bolton game TBH. We conceded 7 goals from set plays all last season, we have conceded what 3 or 4 from set play situations over preseason? If we get a quality CB and a natural LB before the window shuts then top 6, if we dont.

02 Aug 2017 13:22:05
depends on how the new boys do in an unfamiliar league really. can't really determine anything from a preseason devoid of any real quality opposition and almost impossible to judge players who i'd never heard of before they arrived. I'm going top 10 with the potential to improve if the majority of the players plus TC fulfil their potential.

I put 50 quid on Leeds for the outright win, a few months ago (just after Monk left) . First time I've ever bet on Leeds to win any league and odds were 35 to 1. They're a lot shorter, now. You can all laugh as much as you like but, Champions. I genuinely believe it's possible, this season. if we sign another centre-half even on loan. Boro won't get going until Sept. Sunderland will get relegated (I genuinely believe that) . Villa still being rebuilt. Derby sold their most creative player. could well be our season.

02 Aug 2017 00:09:25
Martyn you should know by now that Monk will transform Assombalonga into a 30+ goal a season striker, after all he was fully responsible for Wood's transformation! It's a joke mate an absolute joke, I can't believe all the talk about Boro and Villa, I mean Villa they were not good last season and they have added a 36 year old defender who will find it hard to keep up and yet they are favourites! Aitor Karanka reckons we will finish no higher than tenth, then in the paper on Sunday we will be lucky to finish eighth! Blah blah blah, can't wait for us to prove them wrong! MOT

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I get some of the lack of positivity around us from the outside. We do have an unknown coach and lots of new young players, so know one really knows. Villa and bori have money to burn with coaches people know and players they know, so I understand why people think they're favourites. The teams who got relegated the season before will always be strong favourites then next year. From the outside monk did a great job with us last year. People will think with that bit extra cash he's got a great chnace. It's only when you look at what he did carefully, like when you're a fan of the club, that you realise his floors. So I do get why the odds are the way they are. I'm not expected us to mount a top two challenge this year, perhaps because of the reasons above. I'd love it obviously, but I'd be happy with the playoffs. As I always say though. Get the 50 points ASAP, then focus on more than that!

Good posts, with the loss of really only Barts from the best of last years squad, which should have been top 6 ( Think the Rads purchase was dependent on not getting promo, could it have been a factor ? ) The real question boils down to how good is TC and the new players recruited, this is the unknown quantity. Based on last season and what we have seen so far we should be a far far better team . If we can get it right and with those couple more recruits we have reason to be optimistic . Look at how close Reading came

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 08:23:28
I don't get why TC has to "prove himself" in the Championship when he managed at a far higher standard in the Europa League and knocked out Barcelona's new manager's team. I think he will be a very shrewd appointment like Pochettino was at Southampton.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 08:25:54
The one I don't get is Norwich. They've not bought anyone and sold Murphy and Howson and they have an ageing team. Their manager has never managed at first team level and it seems like a punt to try and replicate Wagner, who struggled in his first season. Yet despite all that, they're one of the favourites to go up.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 08:32:27
Agree PA. we have a really opportunity. What I like about TC is that he appears to want to change things. if it's true that he tore our last 10 games to pieces during his interview then formme that's a very positive sign. it shows he knows what he's talking about about. it then boils down to if he can transfer his ideas to the field. this as you say is a relatively unknown quantity. A massive positive in this area has to be what he did with his previous club. waa it the 1/4 finals of the europa league?

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 09:25:11
I never said he has to prove himself

Unproven in the Championship I imagine. Not every manager can be effective in one league and then successfully transfer that to another league, particularly one as competitive as The Championship. I do hope he proves the doubters wrong. Time will tell.
