Anyone have any idea how much it will cost to keep Bartley, pontus, Hernandez and Sakai? Also we must tie monk down!

About £8m total is my understanding - £3.6m Pontus, £1.5m Sacko, Just shy of £1m Hernandez and around the £2m mark for Bartley. These are just numbers I've seen thrown about on sites for them so maybe not totally accurate apart from the Pontus one which has been made public, numbers sound about right to me though.

Thanks. bit to one pricey to keep them all then I'm guessing.

I think the idea was to split the signings over two window, Pontus and Hernandez are pretty much in place for Jan if reports are to be believed, then Sacko and Bartley looked at for the summer. Could see us splashing £10m if we are still in the playoffs come January, a bit more if Taylor leaves but then we would need a replacement.

Bartley is out of contract in the summer.

Think Pontus and Hernandez are more important. Not convinced about the other two. Not 100% sure sacko and Bartley are def nec!

agree aus apart from bartley he has been a rock and needed (and I say that even though I rate and love cooper) not sold on sacko though potentail maybe but should have a bit more than that at his age.

Bartley is every bit as important as Jannson. Pontus may be the fans favourite but Bartley alongside Ayling are every bit as quality signings as Pontus and Pablo. Not too sure about Sacko too - poor end product. MM.

Thing about sacko is he has searing pace . This is something that you need and no amount of coaching can produce. End product can come with good coaching, for that reason I'd keep him.

Agree 100% with you lanky about Sacko, he's got the potential to make him a class player. We need to keep them all, they are all pieces in a jigsaw of a potentially great LU team.

Scoops, said this last time you posted the same thing, Bartley signed a contract extension in july till 2018, won't be available on a free mate.

Fear not lads we will stuff Villa. My message to all Leeds United fans "Dare to dream" this is our season Leeds are definitely going to the playoffs. Villa are not in our league never have been.

Wex, last time someone in power at our club used the word "dream" it ended with a nightmare. You might want to select new words to describe our movement upward.

Ridsdale was a bluffer though. Have faith in the great man that is called Massimo our saviour the king of cornis our wise man following the star.

Also George expect proper investment in January transfers 2 players in the 5 million range and a bit of dead weight shifted.

02 Dec 2016 22:20:17
That would do it Wex. Striker and an attacking goalscoring midfielder. May I suggest Rhodes and Adam. Acquire them and Brighton will feel threatened.

Genuinely love your optimism Wex, I always do. Having watched Villa at Brighton 1-1 they were far and away the best side to have played Brighton at home this season. Sure we will win but I believe it's going to be a narrow hard fought win. Also talking to some Brighton fans about our impending visit they are they said very nervous for the first time ever, of playing us. Brighton have excellent defence, but stop Knockhart and Glen Murray and they are VERY beatable, honestly believe this is our year!

A bit late but here are my views on the Liverpool match a half decent performance overall and a good defensive performance to be honest Sakho should of scored in 4 minutes IMO and that would probably made it a lot different game. Roofe effort was a great shot and deserved for just putting that on target and was unlucky not score he was the MOTM for me. This game for me was more about performance than anything and the performance we put on was good enough for me now on to face the Villa in a tough game but a game we need to win. Heart says 2 1 win head says 2 2 draw hopefully my heart is right! MOT!

In Fact I think that I was a bit harsh on the lads and I think we played pretty well against Liverpool the more I think about it.

32000 tickets sold already for the game against Villa - ER will be boucing again and that might be vital for the result of the game. I'm secretly worried about this one and will be very impressed at our progress if we come away with the win. Sadly, as I feared, Bruce has sorted Villa out and they are on a charge for the playoffs - it will be like trying to stop a charging bull but will be great if we can do it. Pilot should be available again so that will help.

Yeah Pilots back, but I think your right . Maybe O'Kane and Brid if fit.

Would keep the faith Alf, I'm cautiously optimistic about the game after looking at Villas results. Bruce has done a really good job of turning them round but take away the loss to Newcastle and we would have the better form going in. They haven't kept a clean sheet in ten games and though unbeaten under Bruce they have only managed draws against teams in the business end with the exception of Reading. If we go at them like we did Pool with a packed stadium behind the lads I could see us putting a couple past them.

Hopefully the extra crowd will prove to MC and any potential suitors that we are a sleeping giant. Once we get a settled team, playing well then we've got a massive potential fan base. Average 10K extra per home match, at £25 average per ticket means £250k extra per game. With a little investment in the playing staff then anything is possible.

Thank you for your show of appreciation for my efforts speedy and in advance to george. Also, just because we're on sly or bt doesn't mean low crowds, get the team playing well. P. S. I'll try your reverse theory out tomorrow and bet on villa to win, 2/1. If I win I'll be spending xmas in miami and mrs lucas will be a very happy lady, if I lose I'll be a very happy man.

Lucas. Love it . Now you are learning! I'm the worst ever tipster so I'm going 3-1 to Villa.

03 Dec 2016 10:24:08
Agreed. Reverse psychology is the way forward. We are going to play terribly and lose 6-1. Wood is going to have a stinker and roofe is still going to continue his goal drought.

TOMA update: everythig agreed and takeover inevitable y all accounts. 50% this season with buy out option in January but the new guy to run everything as MC takes a back seat. looks like time to go get their wish but will it be a case of better the devil we know? maybe this means more funding in the Jan window?

Had a good look at Sacko over last couple of games and think that we need better. he's quick but sadly lacks quality. If we can get someone on the right with pace and finesse our goals and assists ratio will increase. He doesn't seem to know what his legs are doing!

were linked with Marc Pugh of Bournemouth - does he play on the right?

Believe I have read that he is a right winger! Don't know much else about him, but at least he has played in championship .

Pugh is predominantly a left winger but he can play on the right, could see him replacing Dallas over Sacko though.

I hope the Villa game will be a tight affair as I don't see us running away with it or dominating for long periods. Our defence is pretty sound but without Bridcutt and Hernandez I think we will lack a bit of creativity and we could be under severe pressure in midfield. If this is the case we will have to do a lot of defending. I am not too optimistic because the game might hinge on the respective scoring powers of Wood and McCormack. In terms of quality there is no contest McCormack is much better. Our hope is that McCormack is in one of his goal shy phases (He is a feast or famine player) and that he continues his run of no goals against his old club. Another hope is that Roofe breaks his duck. He is improving and is due a goal. I think a draw is possible but if McCormack is on his game we might have to score two or three to get a result. Going to the game hoping for the win. It will be great if we do.

McCormack is apparently out with an ankle injury Hess. We can talk about our defence midfield and attack, but they are all just a part of the whole, the big thing we have is a group of players who play for each other have belief and play with passion. That has been missing a long long time and is why we have a great shot at promotion.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Dec 2016 11:42:48
Agreed. Team spirit is important but quality also counts. No amount of team spirit can consistently overcome too big a gap skill and organisation If McCormack is out and one or more defenders are also out then it evens things up viz a viz our injury list. Could be in with a good shout.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2016 12:12:38
Sorry Hess, have to disagree there. This group of players is a good blend of quality, solid grafters and emeging talent. You need spirit to come back from going a goal down, bouncing back from a defeat or snapping a losing run. Quality is not constant, team spirit and passion can be, it compensates for a dip in form from a player or two, it drives performances.

Ok. Hope we win tomorrow but we did struggle against Rotherham and some others. The point where I think you are right is that previous Leeds teams would have lost where we've hung on for draws and occasionally stolen it at the end. We need to be doing that against the top clubs in the division. I think we can but we have a small squad and injuries and suspensions affect us more than the other 'big' clubs. I hope team spirit can see us through tomorrow given the absences and players having to go through the pain barrier to get on he pitch.
