Well pleased with the list of outs...cant wait to see the new look team next season, leeds have had so many players in the last 10 years its madness but the players going are defo not good enough, even clayton imo. He had a good start with us but lost interest and if we get anything over a million i think its good business. Hope we get adomah....other than that i hope we get players who can handle big crowds. Reading have released 13 players Neil has said Clayton want too much money on official site and ken bates says it's around 15000 a week. No wonder he wants to sign for us again!

Really can't get my head around putting clayts on the transfer list and giving brown another year? Surely this should be the other way around? Like 99.9% of Leeds fans I'm hoping clayton doesn't leave and accepts a lower contract offer MOT FOREVER

Why should he accept less than he's worth? Would you work for less than another employer would offer? A lot of fans just don't understand the difference between being a football fan and a professional footballer.

We need to keep players of his quality if we're going to progress and Bates clearly isn't serious about promotion.

Offered him less money to get better deals elsewhere he's not Grayson hed rather av 15 on 20 k than 30 on 10k like Grayson did quality rather than quantity!

Anyone with even half a brain watching football can decide who is not good enough for ER. The names of those who are being released have been touted on these pages for months. Easy bit done Neil. Now convince me you can do the hard bit and buy in the quality we need to build a decent team. Poor start by Uncle Ken with Clayton. Says it all IMO. Anyone getting excited about next season better take a reality check. This is about downsizing not building a team.

Excellent news today! Clayton was an under-achieving mainstay of an under-achieving team. Say no more. We must, can and will sign far better players than him this summer.

Just heard the kb interview about the players this was recorded before the list came out he said one players agent wanted 15k a week obviously turns out to be clayton for the championship especially a club that aims to be in the premiership I'd give him it yes it's a lot of money but compared to what teams like Southampton west ham Leicester west ham all are paying out I just can't see us getting up anytime soon with comments like that by
Bates hope I'm wrong but he is young English talent can't see the likes of white snodgrass staying much longer when there listing players like clayton

Get real! Clayton's not worth anywhere near that sort of money! When did he last have a good game?

Why the hell is every1 sulking over Clayton, he had a few good games but he wasn't great full season, problem is with our squad is it's easy for someone to shine, snoddy was poor this season as much as he was good, Aidy white is over rated, good prospect for future but to be fair all he has is pace and who knows if he will gain more to his game,I watch the game home and away, ok sorry I sound a twit but it's truth, they are all replaceable the thing was Grayson didn't replace the past players but it's NW now so Pull the bottom lip in and watch what happens

Clayton was the best player over the course of the season by a mile. The problem with him going doesn't just come down to that though - it says we lack ambition and won't pay for good young players. It sends out all the wrong messages to other young players at the club and to potential targets at other clubs. It's a disaster.

Morons? I watched Clayton a year ago playing in the League One play-offs for MK Dons on loan from us. He was anonymous, lightweight, and frankly didn't look anything like good enough for the Championship. He did well in the first few games of this season, but since then I have come to the conclusion that my opinion of him this time last year was spot-on. Apparently Neil Warnock agrees. I'm happy to trust his judgement rather than some keyboard warrior on here. How many promotions have you won?

Agree with the list other than clayton! In my opinion he is a good young player that will only get better! warnock what the hell!

When was the last time Clayton had a good game?

Clayton is lightweight. He doesn't have the ability to dominate midfield against the better teams in the Championship

I dont know why we dont look at players outside the box other than the players that obviously stand out such as relegation teams. Aluko from rangers, mulgrew from celtic have been amazing this season, yes they would cost but its not bates would hold back the money from matey NW. Jarvis, goodwillie, scott dann. and most of all beckford......... {Ed001's Note - Aluko's contract expires at the end of the season.}

Gimpel has just finished his 1st year of a 2 year scholarship

Thought we might give him a few preseason games, was excited to see him. IMO he's not old enough. Doubt it is that someone is interested, despite the Chelsea and barca rumours, as I think we would sign him first and make a profit.

Clayton transfer listed and Brown offered a new deal I'm in absolute shock. Well done Warnock wasn't enough to ruin 1 season for us now you decide to ruin another one thanks can't wait till next January when unfortunately we're languishing around mid-table to the relegation zone but finally you will be sacked and people will finally admit he's destroying the club and we can start all over.

A surprise, but if his sale will fund an improvement in centre mid i'm not unhappy.

Brown offered a reduced contract good senior pro to have round the youngsters,clayton greedy agents again i am afraid. i for 1 dont want to see our club in debt again because of greedy players,after all he has been average all season.

What a stupid, senseless post. Clayton was vastly overrated both by the fans and himself. Brown will be there to provide nothing more than cover - maybe coming off the bench from time to time.

Warnock hasn't even made any signings yet ffs! I'm very happy to leave these decisions to a manager who's been there and done it on several occasions. Moaning ***** like you, hopefully, won't be at Elland Road, next season.

We get compensation for White, meant to be around 1.5m, and we sell Snoddy for 3.5-4.5m, 5-6m is enough to buy 3 or 4 top quality players in our league

The important thing now is that Leeds find all the Transfer Listed players new clubs, it's one thing having them on the list, it's quite another getting the sale.

We could still end up having all those guys still on the wage book next season.

Clayton could be a tough one- If he is under contract and no-one comes in for him then he will be a decent player warming the bench with little motivation to play for the club and we will still have to pay his wage. Other than that, and possibly Bruce who I don't think has ever let the team down when called upon- a decent start to pre-season!

They will have had an offer for him already and rather than lose him cheap, let the world know, cost us nowt so 2 or 3 million is good business buys us 3 good players

I suppose transfer listing clayton could be just to try make him play better for the shirt and to try get a new contract for himself . its up to him to get himself off that list .maybe he wants too much money for a new contract who knows

I think you'll find Clayton is Transfer listed for funds as Bates has probably told NW he'll have to produce money from the current Squad as well. Only players worth decent money are McCormack, Snodgrass & Clayton. Lots of reasonable players in midfield available on a free like Clingan, Paul Green & Robert Koren to name a few. Not a bad move really.
Sad to see Nunez & Bruce go though - at least they really wanted to play for the shirt (whether good enough or not is a different matter)

Anyone know when 'The List' is going to be published?

From interviews it said afternoon, but ive heard no official time. I suppose he will have to tell each player their fate before hand. Im imagineing all players lined up and numbers called out for them to step forward, then being split in to 2 groups in two rooms (xfactor style)... I can just see the look on the players faces as they turn around to see Paynter on the right and ruchubka on the left, shortly followed by the sound of celebration from the room next door!

Read the "I thank the fans for 4 years support etc" statement on the OS made by Snods after receiving his awards and then tell me he is not leaving....come on people wake up, Best player or not he's off for more money just like Beckford did and we all know deep down and if we were being honest with ourselves and to our famillies if we were offered better prospects and more money in a job we all would do the same in his position

I rate McCormack and Clayton higher - McCormack has everything except for pace, or he'd be a top player IMO, Clayton keeps the ball and sees the easy pass.

Mccormack has good pace im not sure what you are on about. hes not electric but reasonably quick.

Behave,he is slow,lost count of the times he has been caught by defenders this season,original poster was spot on

I think a lot of Leeds fans are in for a shock this season and not in a good way, Ken Bates will always be a tight wad....A few cheapies and thats about it again...Dont get your hopes up.

Never underestimate a signing that isn't a big name player, eg. snoddy, gradel, beckford, Becchio etc, plenty more trout in the sea, thought I'd like to add that, and also midrib Meg says Robbie Rogers will become a fans favourite next season

Espn used to show highlights of mls i used to watch it every monday i was delighted when we signed him his feet are lightning quick and tbh i think hes better than snoddy as much as i love snoddy his lack of pace is an issue if snoddy got quicker slimmed down him on the right and rogers on the left wing we would honestly scare the livin bejesus out of defences just need ta sell becchio for a bitta cash ta buy beckford if we could or a pacey attacker like him
