McCormack - 4 goals In 10 games on different positions if he was to keep this average he's looking at 18-19 goals in 46 games play him up front every game 20+ goal man in a season :) jobs a good un. Dodgy prediction but why not! MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree! And mayby more if he brushes up on his pens! ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats what I like to see. Glass half full posts!
What do people think mcd best starting 11 is?

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely there's no reason why he can't get us that amount of goals, and I can't say ausman not seen enough games unfortunately but I would still without a doubt have diouf in there him McCormack and varney

Agree0 Disagree0

Have said it before, if played in the right position he is out 20 goal striker. The others just need to contribute with 10+ each (Varney and Poleon)

We have been asking for another striker, I just think we need the right players to provide. 2 wingers needed, no striker. Maybe and AMC to fit the space he vacates, but we have Mowatt and Diouf in that position.

Bring on Derby

Agree0 Disagree0

Ausman, if we are still using the diamond formation my team would be: G - Kenny, LB - Warnock, RB - Byram, CBs - Wooton & Lees/Pearce, DM - Green, RM - Austin, LM - Mowatt, CAM - Diouf, Str - McCormack & Varney/Poleon

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah agree and if smith can et a couple end of game goals to throw in aswell there shouldn't be a problem because we aren't conceding many at all, now mccormackd made that comment promising goals if he is up front I think we will definitely see him given a chance there. Like you say couple of wingers is all we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenny (GK), Byram (RB), Wooton (CB), Pearce (CB), Warnock (LB), Austin (DM), Mowatt (CM), Tonge (CM), Diouf (AMC), Mccormack (CF), Poleon (ST).

TeejLUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Notts. don't see many games but, don't think austin good enough and not sure diouf fit or hungry enough anymore

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with ausman, Austin can ave games where a passing ratio seem to be 0% a it usually mean he's giving it away on the half way line to stop any sort of attack and puts us on the backfoot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ausman, if you don't see too many games then why say you think Austin isn't good enough?

He's been brilliant all season. He covers more ground than anyone else and makes a lot of vital interceptions and tackles. I just wish he'd stop shooting from 30yds for no reason.

He's our captain and our only bit of bite in midfield. unless you count Brown.and I'd rather not count Brown.

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

Ausman, based on the current squad I would select Austin in the RM because I think he is better than Green, Tonge or Norris in this position. Ideally Rudy is better in the DM role however I think Green is not as affective as Rudy in RM and therefore should play DM. Diouf is slow however BMcD played Tonge in this role against Bournemouth and I would rate them as being similar pace wise. Ideally if BMcD continues with this formation then we should be looking for better quality in CAM and RM as well as a partner for Ross. Not asking for too much eh?

Warnock and mowatt brilliant last night wish all the leeds team would fight as hard as they did Austin Aswell class as always!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What the chairman said is pathetic. The championship is no great shakes. You do not coach a team not to have ambition. Of course Leeds should be aiming for promotion. This talk can not be tolerated by Leeds fans. In Ireland amateur Gaelic football players aim to win every game. They are not paid a wage but look up the all Ireland hurling final and you will see the skill and pans ion. I can not accept that professional players will not go out and aim to reach for the stars. If that type of talk is accepted by Leeds fans well we are accepting defeat for this year. This is disgusting talk. Enough is enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

There making a rod for there own back. any sort of owners come out and say we want promotion now . not next year.not the year after but now how do they expect all this talk aif it taking 2 or 3 years goes down with fans whove been s**t on too long. you have to give us a crumb of hope . they've no idea.get out now gfh.hopeless

Stop talking garbage! Remember Bates and his lies? Claiming "This square should be battling for promotion" when he would sell our best players and replace with journeyman free transfers. I prefer the honesty and for me GFH are already a major tick in the box by keeping Byram and McCormack who Bates and Co would have definitely sold. Keep up the good work GFH not all of us are impatient dreamers who miss the fact that rebuilding will take time. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

When you was a kid did you scream and shout when you didn't get what you wanted when you wanted! Be patient for crying out loud! We haven't sold our best players which is already an improvement!

Leeds chairman just been on tv, don't expect promotion this season OR next season. He says there is a long term plan in place but not in the next two years. No players coming to push for promotion then!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why does this guy come out and say things like this (evidently it is true though) but its a stupid thing to say good way to keep players and fans away

what a load of rubbish the moaning is getting boring now

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair as we know this leage can see anyone beat anyone, a plan is probably irrelevant as anything can happen. Come on boys stay faithful we have every chance despite our last few games.

Let's just support the mighty Leeds on Saturday at Derby. There won't be any signings coming in before hand so let's get behind who we have.

The board and McD have said there is money to spend to bring someone in. McD has said he's looking to get the right type of player rather than just bring someone who is available just for the sake of it.

The international break is coming up so no new players will come in until after that. Why waste 2 weeks of a loan period by not being able to use them and waste money paying for them? Common sense says wait a fortnight. The loan window doesn't close until the end of November. Let's be patient.

Too many people talking s*** on here and making up nonsense or spouting off rubbish that doesn't make any sense. Talking about getting rid of McD because we are on a bad run! What better manager is available to take his place? I can't think of any except Gus Poyet and I'd rather have McD. We would have to spend good money to buy someone out of a contract which wouldn't be viable at the minute.

Tony pulis

Tony Pulis? Are you serious? Got Stoke out of the championship fair enough but it's like bringing Warnock back

By pass the midfield with more high balls over their head.

Top post, applying sense and logic, which as you point out, is all too often lobbed out of the window in some posts.

McD is the man, and will prove it. What can't be forgotten additionally is that virtually the same squad is trying to play a different brand of football which takes time to come together. Pre season doesn't really make everything click when drastic changes in style of play are implemented. I'm confident all will be good under Brian!

Agree0 Disagree0

No need to look anywhere else for a manager. I believe Brian will get this club where it wants to be. it just might not happen this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no one better than Brian for this club. I liked him very much at Reading, and I think we've been extremely lucky to get him. He's a proper, serious and honest football man. I think once he's got going with Leeds we'll be fighting other clubs off. And, such will be his success here, he'll want to stay. Could be the beginning of a fine era for both club and manager. Patience. PK

Agree0 Disagree0

Save a couple of weeks wages here and there haha I bet abramovich had the same vision :p

Pulis might of made stoke play like that but it worked and they was a tough team to beat

Agree0 Disagree0

Abramovic never had to use the loan market! If we got somebody in then he can't play over a busy period because his loan has expired then you will be complaining! #neverhappy

How's mowatt looking in the first team then lads?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

From what I've seen he's got the potential to be our next big academy produced "star" like Byram was but I don't think I've seen enough to make a proper judgement on that

F92

Agree0 Disagree0

Very Solid. Adds a bit of flair to the center of midfield, gets around the park and is fearless for a young player just breaking into the team. looks a better player than Murphy also thus far.

TeejLUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality looking forward to how he develops then as long as no moneybags come along and buy him just to bench him

Man City already looking

He gave the ball away a few times in the first half last night but improved massively in the second

Main plus is his work rate (youth) and his being willing to actually take a player on. An area that a lot of our team lack the confidence or pace to attempt.

If memory serves we only got to the byline about 2 or 3 times last night. On the whole down the wings both Warnock and Pelts would run forward and just when I was hoping they would go for the byline and turn the bournemouth defence, they would stop turn back and pass back or square

I was well frustrated

Poor game all in all but relieved to have left the groung having seen us scrape 3 points. I was embarrassed to see Rudi running to the corner to eat time up near the end against a relatively poor team with 10 men?

Agree0 Disagree0

Great I hate city so much, we need to ensure these lads stay fr any success in the future. He will make a few mistakes being so young but if his confidenc is as good as you say he could be so dangerous. And cheers for the insight into the game so wish I could afford. Does anyone know anything about Lenighan or any other of our young players like killock? Sorry to keep asking but know nothing about these lads. Thank god for you lot as our site is so biased it would make me think we are caged animals waiting to hold the champions league trophy in 3 seasons!

so bmd did not fancy matt fryatt went to watch him at hull matt went on loan to sheff weds and guess what last night he scored for wednesday are you sure you used to be a scout brian maybe you are a little rusty belly the white

Believable0 Unbelievable0

One goal makes a season dose it? His injury record it v bad as well

Agree0 Disagree0

And prior to his solitary goal last night, Fryatt hasn't scored for 17 months. A fully fit Matty Fryatt from three years ago, minus his debilitating injuries would have been a good choice, but not in his current condition.

Agree0 Disagree0

Belly the white not fully fit and still scored in the championship I rest my case

Agree0 Disagree0

Only a short term loan which is what BMD was avoiding

think we just need to say a win is a win.
end of really.
nothing has changed the fact we need players in and it does look like a few players have been sanctioned.
its just getting the right ones.bmd is right, we are all desperate but if a club won't let a player go what do u do?
id rather get a decent prem loan than rush into another hunt type player. shrew leeds

You are correct, we need a few new players. And sometimes when a game isn't going quite to plan we need to change things using what we have on the bench

Last night he had diouf and Sam about to come on, which was good as we needed to change something. Then we nicked that goal and they promptly sat back down again?

WE then reverted to the poor stuff we had been churning out for the 15 minutes previous.

Goal or no goal we still needed to change what we were doing imo

More spin out of ER . Investment close to coming in . Is this the same investment that David Haigh told us very close to happening back in May?

I for one will feel happy when we have a quality winger and striker . Common Brian, let's spend the money they tell us is available to you . This will give everybody a real lift

Unfortunately I couldn't get to the game tonight but from what I've heard and read although we might not have been great we did ok and most importantly won. Reading the stats we had 17 shots on goal. if we can keep creating that amount of chances AND get a proven goalscorer in it will make a huge difference and give us a shot of at least the playoffs surely. Have faith, its going to be a tough season and as much aswe want immediate ssuccess, I think it may be next year that BM and GFH sees us making a serious push, especially if we can secure funding/investment

On the positives. we won, we scored more than one goal, the team did not panic when Bournemouth equalised, the substitution of Poleon made an impact, Green and Mowatt played well. The negatives. Bournemouth were a poor side, we were playing the majority of the game against 10 men, we failed to react tactically when Bournemouth changed their shape, Tom Lees keeps switching off in games, McCormack spent the first half sulking, Tonge was running on empty for the last 30 mins and was not replaced and finally, apart from winning the penalty, Noel Hunt stank the place out. We clearly need additions to the squad and Mr Noodles said there was finances available however on the radio after the game BMcD got quite annoyed about the notion that we needed additional players. Is there money available or is BMcD reluctant to spend it? I hope it is not the latter because on this performance we are hardly ripping up trees

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post mate, and what you forgot to add was that BMD's million pound man didn't even get on the pitch!

Crap game & performance, at least we won I suppose!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought the game was good Leeds played some good football. How we did not score 3 goals first half I do not know. Mowatt looks a gem another SPEEDO

Agree0 Disagree0

I was glad for the 3 points but please BM get a player on the pitch who is willing to take on the fullback and get to the byline

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes crossing was poor
