I hope not if reports from my old man are correct. He went yesterday and said he was no way as good as Green.

Didn't have much to do, I still prefer Green

Neither can be that poor. we know green, but to be a constant bundesliga 1 goalkeeper you can be totally useless.

Looks like Felix the cat is shaping up to be first choice. Sounds like he was deployed as a 'sweeper keeper' a bit like Nauer for Bayern and Germany. If this is the case and TC wants to play with a sweeper keeper it may be that Green wouldn't be much cop in that kind of role.

Could it be that CT needed to prioritise attack and knew we not be able to get decent cb as well until Jan, there fore it's cheaper to get a decent sweeper keeper to cover mistakes e. g. Backpasses than it is to replace cooper?

I saw the Oxford game. Saiz, did well; Alioski didn't get much of the ball but has done well; Dallas scored; Sacko looked good on the ball but his final delivery and football brain seemed out of sync. ; Wood seems all at sea (scoring that is) now that he's getting more than one chance in the game. His all round play has improved though. Roofe seems to be finding his feet. The Pennington/ Cooper combination might feel pressurised once the season starts. OK for the most part against Oxford but there were a couple of interesting moments. Full backs were ok but again a couple of 'iffy' moments. The young striker looked pretty mobile for his 12 minute spell. Phillips was the one that disappointed me the most. Following on from his earlier games I was expecting an improvement but there wasn't one. He did ok but not enough to make a difference in the championship. It was a reasonable work out and will be interesting to see the starting line up . If fit, Saiz would be a definite starter for me instead of Hernandez. Otherwise take your pick with the other mid fielders . O'Kane was the pick of the bunch on Saturday but then there is Klich, Vierra, Bridcutt. Bridcutt not for me at the moment.

I was at the game too Hess and pretty much agree with your view, thought O'Kane and Ayling were the pick of the bunch plus Roofe looked very lively, I think he will have a good season. The keeper was playing as a sweeper a lot off the game and looked very comfortable on the ball, think we will be playing out from the back a lot this season rather then Greens wild kicks up field, that seems to be TC's way. Saiz looked good in spells as did Alioski but the ball was played through Roofe most of the time so he was left out. Think Wood is still half a yard off full fitness, probably because he came back late after confederation cup. I seen enough to think it will be an interesting and exciting season for us. Thought Pennington looked OK and Cooper was better than usual. Sacko made a couple of crosses but half the time he makes the wrong decision, if TC can teach him to make the right decision he will be a great asset.

For first match would like to see Wiedwald, Ayling Cooper Pennington Berardi, Klich, O'Kane, Roofe Saiz Alioski, Wood, assuming all fit. Bench would be Green Anita Vieira Phillips Dallas Sacko Ekuban.

No! not copper! just no! Anita, ayling, Pennington, berardi Why do people still think he'll come good? ! he's been at the club longer than bellusci was/has been and is still playing at the same level as he was when he came! people called for bellusci to leave because of his mistakes! Anita won the league as a constant last year, Ayling was a great player last year as was berardi and
As for Pennington, give him a chance. hell be ok I'm sure! just for christs sake not cooper! If he plays we might as well save the risk of any injuries and give the 3 points away now! Why are people still prepared to give him a chance?

Del, he's 25! Wow a good game in a pre season friendly against Lower division opponents. When was the last time he had a good game when it really mattered?

Cooper had a good game against Oxfors, not just his own play but the way he was marshaling the defence. It will depend on whether we bring in other options this week, how match ready they are and if they can fit in quickly. If not i think he deserves the game against Bolton and i think he will get it. Also surprised by some of the comments about Phillips, i thought he looked good and worked well with Okane. I would also still give Hernadez a chance, knowing that he doesn't need to play the full game and bring Saiz on later in the game. We can use Saiz more and more as the season progresses. The good thing is there are already good options and with a couple more in defence, i think we will have a play off capable squad.

Just seen that Kun kid we signed from Barcelona is eligible for England. That'll push his price tag up by a further £30m then! 😅
