Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

30 Jul 2018 20:17:00
If we are not very careful, this could actually slip into a positive transfer window! I believe Bielsa has not been convinced about Vydra’s desire to come to us, irrespective of the money (the manager earns more) Bielsa has form for not signing players if their desire to play for his teams aren’t convincing enough, good on him I think. With Viera, I personally think he shows promise but needs to mature and hasn’t really progressed, wrong time for our needs right now and I don’t think he’s half the player Cook is, so long as we reinvest then I’m ok with it. Finally, we have the most revered World renown Manager for decades so I have to trust his judgement to be better than mine for starters. Madison would be good, I’d prefer Snoddy back myself.

Would take Maddison over Snoddy, much as I like him, simply because he has more years in him. Otherwise I agree in the main. Think there are going to be a few more twists in the tale before this window shuts!

30 Jul 2018 22:09:10
Of the 2 I think Madison will be the one, Snoddy is on PL wages so he'll be a no-go.

Coach. not manager. and there is a big difference.

30 Jul 2018 23:38:51
It's ok no need to worry our chairman has solved this by selling Viera to Sampdoria for sweet all, so we can expect the usual mid table finish.

England u20 and u21 Toulon winner and Leeds young player of year winner sold for what 6mil? Disgusting. should of been looking for 15-20 mil.

30 Jul 2018 18:38:26
Could not agree more. Ok he didn’t have the best of seasons last year but he’s such a good young English prospect. Sad day, signing Bamford and Penney’s on loan with his money. Big mistake.

Agree2 Disagree6

30 Jul 2018 18:38:30
£6m a good deal to me he's been poor for along while passes going a stray rarely scores believe me there's better out there ok he's still young but been around enough to have done much better not seeing any improvement so £6m a good deal someone like Maddison will improve us no end with much better creativity.

30 Jul 2018 19:13:45
But ar we getting Maddison? .

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Jul 2018 18:57:44
Sad day indeed. Again. Hope Bielsa is right about this, as we might have lost another future England International.

Agree2 Disagree3

30 Jul 2018 20:13:13
Sentiments for Vieira after be put to one side if its right and we've accepted a bid of around £6m the club should accept as been said by a few on here he hasn't come along as many of us hoped just hope if he goes the money is invested in a better quality midfielder who can pass, create, shoot and score.

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Jul 2018 21:29:20
Got to say i agree £6mill is good business. I rate him but he did not progress much last season and if Bielsa thinks we don't need him and he is happy to move so be it. We all knew Bielsa would ruffle some feathers.

30 Jul 2018 22:09:51
Like who for £6 million?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 23:43:53
Seriously I would love to know where we are going to get a better player in the next 5 days before the season starts for less than £6.2 million.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Jul 2018 08:48:38
Maddison is better than Vieira, not the same position but we need to strengthen where Maddison plays anyway. can't have another year relying on Pablo imo, the man might be great, but he's only great stood still these days he can't beat a man, think you're better off signing a Maddison, or letting Roberts or Harrison paly there. as for vieiras position, klich, Forshaw, (yes he's injured but he's not dead) , phillips, baker, shaugnessy, diaz, i'm not going to mention okane or murphy because neither is good enough.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 17:59:54
I didn't see yesterday's game but apparently Vieira was dreadful.

I don't think he's kicked on in the way we all hoped to be honest and £6.6m seems a good bit of business. It will also mean we get another midfielder in and if its Foden on a season long loan that represents a huge upgrade for the squad.

Bamford is a great signing and and Williams fits the bill too. Forget about his time at Boro under Pulis the plank.

Forshaw's latest scare is only a toe injury and he's expected to be fit if not for the start of the season then very soon afterwards.

All in all the squad is being slowly but surely upgraded and we may well find Bielsa's first choice CBs end up being Pontus and Phillips but keep an eye out for Shaughnessy.

I say so every year but this time I really do think our prospects are the best for at least ten years.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

30 Jul 2018 19:15:15
Time will tell if bamford is a ‘great signing’ as you put it, I aren’t convinced at all, I think he will play slightly deeper, which means we will probs offload saiz and buy a number 9.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 22:11:53
I think it will be janson and beradi.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 15:33:06
As I said Vierra is just ok at the moment, inconsistent and has difficulty passing the ball. He should develop into an excellent player in the future. Given the mediocrity in the rest of our midfield it makes you wonder who is waiting to come in. That is if Rads is genuine in his claim to want to be in the top 6 this season and will spend the money. So far: Douglas- should be good, Baker- yet to prove himself, Bamford - Yet to prove himself as a top player, Blackman - OK, Harrison- yet to prove himself. So this years recruiting could be ok (so far) but it could fall apart very quickly. More seasoned and PROVEN campaigners need bringing in if we are going to compete at the top of the division.

Think we might be in for a few more surprises before transfer window ends. Desperately hope we sign Maddison from Peterborough. If we’re going spend the cash on Bamford expecting him to score a bag full he needs good supply from decent MF and wide men.

Lee Chapman knew where the net was if he was fed the ammo.

30 Jul 2018 16:56:41
People saying use Vieira money to sign ryan woods, for a start, we are solid in CM hence us wanting to sell him and considering the offer in the first place, klich, baker, phillips, Forshaw can all play there. second, we need a cb! think Maddison for 2.5m is a steal, then if you make a last minute surge for a good cb youll do well. 4.5m on a cb is pretty good dealings if you ask me.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Jul 2018 17:33:34
Have to admit that this period of uncertainty is not what I'd hoped for.
I believed from the start, and said so, that TC and Sackingbottom were no-goers from the start and I've expected more form the new Bielsa regime. No one has a crystal ball and we live in hope.
Time's running out for PROVEN Championship or premiership talent to come in. if it doesn't arrive I fear the worst.

Sure Biesla has said he’s not after a centre back, wait till we start conceding from set plays and come up against direct teams like millwall, he may change his mind then.

30 Jul 2018 23:57:29
@Samowhite Are you serious Ryan Woods? his name should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Viera, aside from that he has probably reached his level, Viera has not.

So we have terminated our interest in Vydra. or have we? I am just surmising here but Vydra has 18 months left on his contract at Derby, so is Radz playing a clever game of wait til January? see where we are in the league? make a lower bid as player sat in reserves itching to play, may even lower wage demands for first team football. love the pyschology of it all but it is ony the ramblings of an overactive mind. Oh and thinking that perhaps Radz has something of an astute business mind too!

30 Jul 2018 14:39:26
Never considered this, very good thinking wils. Especially if lamps is looking to replace him suggests he rates other players higher like Marriott and Lawrence, therefore probably likely that vydra won't get much game time unless there are injuries. Saying that though, do we really want a shaky start to the season, and then have to recover it with a panick buy in jan for a player who never really wanted leeds in the first place? Thing I like about bamford is he was straight on the bandwagon with leeds wanting him, there are players in England and Scotland who know how good the fanbase is and how good the club have been. Some of the youngsters like phillips, Harrison, Roberts, ailing, BPF, bamford, could be the core of a great team for the future if they're given the game time.

His other reason was “ didn’t want to come to a club that finished lower than Derby! ” Strange that didn’t stop him coming to the city and asking for 50k a week!

Viera move I can understand anything over 5 million, useful money to spend. Seems to divide supporters and been in Bielsa’s second team during pre season. If we sell, I think we will def see 1/ 2 more in . Good luck to him, good experience playing in Italy.

There are good players to buy but very few great ones. and where's the money. So far 3 loanees and a decent full back.
Who is going to loan out a stalwart of any team? Get ready for a stormy season and let's see what last year's group failures do under the "world's best manager, (allegedly) .

Not good. We should be keeping him. He was our best player not too long ago. Only young. Needs another year before he can be judged as surplus.
Unless of course the funds are going to be spent on George’s mate.
Still need a cb. I know birslas happy with what he’s got but he’s wrong.
And a 20+ striker.

freeing up budget for someone else I feel. really do feel as though this is a good bit of business. when was the last time the lad had a stand out performance in a leeds shirt. probably derby at home under monk in that great break through season. he must be on about 5k a week, plus 6.2 million in transfers, that might just be the difference between getting vydra and not. and personally vydra would start, Vieira in the current team wouldn't. I love the lad but he's not had a good last 18 months.

30 Jul 2018 13:44:34
I agree Samo,

Bielsa is going that be tough. If he wanted to keep Viera, it would have been clear by now. He wants players who will fit his ideas and methods. Fair enough, that’s what we are paying him for. Wouldn’t surprise me if Saiz follows, he doesn’t appear happy and not showing a lot of form. Players have to decide if they want to play for Bielsa or not!

The main gist of most post match reports highlight the lack of chances. A problem carried over from last year so unless this is rectified it does not matter who the CF is we will not be clocking up the goals next season. It seems as though he is relatively happy with our mid and back, three but it is the attacking three which need to perform and give Bamford more than just scraps.

One thinks that cannot be the kit. I feel if our away kit is black, our third kit will also be black, if we follow the recent tradition of our away kit the season prior being our current third kit? So I think taht that could be a possible that this is a training shirt? Cause who has two black away shirts ahha is maybe?

Is bielsa mad, silly or what? He has 2 very good managers in pep and Poch that have stated that he was a massive influence in their lives.
Surely you make a couple of calls and say, what are the chances I could loan a couple of your young players. How we could do with foyth, Foden etc?
Still need that CB, winger and striker, come on MB, make the call.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

30 Jul 2018 06:34:59
Maybe he has asked and they've said no. Like when pep said early in the window that he wasn't going to loan out any youngsters?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 06:43:13
How do we know conversations haven’t taken place? The big clubs will only make early decisions re loans on those players not close to the first team squad, like Chelsea with Baker and Blackman. With players much closer like Foden and Foyth, they will wait until after preseason to check on injuries and how transfers have effected the first team squads. I think there is still a good chance that we will see some good loan additions but it will be last minute. i keep on mentioning the patience word but I don’t think we will be playing in the way Bielsa wants and with his final lineup until into September and beyond. Not a problem, we just need to be close enough by Christmas.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 07:02:40
Although Pep and Poch may wish to help, it will still require Leeds to contribute a significant part of the players wage. The likes of Levy will insist on this.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 09:40:05
Notts Don't think Spurs would be the problem. Foyth on 20k a week whereas those Man City starlets we're interested in are earning 36k a week.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 10:05:23
Coincidence? Jack Harrison about to sign on loan from city, well worth a senior appearance or two and imo better than alioski. England U21 player, could be exciting on the left with douglas, could also see him fight Hernandez and Roberts for spots later in the year.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 10:07:01
George, Levy does not give anything away for free. Wage might not be an issue but I suspect there will also be a loan fee.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 12:52:01
Disagree Notts. Loan fees are usually for fairly established players. Foyth is not. What has seemingly replaced the thought of a loan fee for a quality prospect is a hefty penalty fee for insufficient game time at the end of the loan.
