This is not going to happen from either parties,weve found out to soon and if any group were serious concrete info would be quoted by sed parties.Bates is a greedy old man but a clever old man,reading things from social sites is wasting your own time and my reading time.There is to much red tape and suspect deals for business men to deal with and santa bates sussed that out,hes going with the flow to apease daft people like me who pay hundreds every season to sit tn the same seat,if he kept the previous players he sold to many names to mention his new boxes the ground would be full but in the prem..(over to u ed).. {Ed013's Note - I don't know what you want me to say! something is on the table, whether its investment or a takeover. I feel that Mr Bates has been found out by Neil and he knows if he doesn't get out soon then Neil will spill the beans. that Kuwait fella is no fool - its called 'playing hard to get' with ken - offer is in - kens holding out playing other party against one another ... old tricks ..... and he's getting it back in spades from Kuwaiti - its a dance - just chill and enjoy it

The only thing I'll enjoy seeing is a starting line up of 11 decent players by aug 18th..just hope all this carp doesn't carry on to long , the squad needs investment as ASAP .

This rumour of a kuwait business taking over at forest and taking warnock are doubtable, I mean as a guy below already put below we have bigger fan base, stadium once brought, and the warnock issue, warnock on a 1 year rolling contract, would have to buy him out of that, I mean surely that don't make financial sense!
Also more room for expansion around elland road, and also as we don't own the ground or thorp arch we must also be the cheaper option!
I don't know who is investing but I know who I would choose even as a middle man Leeds surely makes sense!

Seems like a no brainer. Don't wanna dis the good folks of Nottingham, but... If a potential buyer wants a championship side which he intends to pump substantial money into, of course he would choose a massive club in a huge one team city over a nothing club in a two team dump.

I may have got this wrong but i cannot believe it's not been mentioned already?!

I live in Nottingham and have been seeing both sides of this takeover story regarding the chap from Kuwait and it would appear (according to internet sources) that he would prefer a takeover at forest unfortunately. however i can only imagine that part of the reason is due to the unfortunate circumstances regarding the owner at Forest who passed away a couple of months back, Nigel Doughty.

Surely it must be more convienient to launch a takeover bid for a club who at present has no owner?! I can only imagine Bates will try and bleed this guy dry in terms of an asking price and the fact that there is no figure at forest to do the same it must me more persuasive to dip into forest?!

Don't get me wrong in terms of fanbase and potentially waking up a sleeping giant, Leeds have a massive pull power. However Forest also have a great history, potential and a ground and training complex of their own! surely if this guy can aquire all of that and at a reasonably cheaper price and without someone like 'Uncle Albert' bleeding him dry, it's bound to sway in their direction?

It's also well publicised down here that at present if forest don't get a buyer then Liquidation could become a massive possibility. The £ they have and the way that the club is running its thought that Forest have until the season begins and then they will genuinly be potless due to how much Doughty put into the club as part of a long term plan to make money back. I think it could be Doughty's family that hold a few of the cards as their in court to determine whether they are entitled to any money.

Basically forest are in a world of trouble if they don't get brought out which would surely mean that a cut deal for this guy is highly likely?!

Very ture mate, but whats another 10/20 million to buy the club when they will also spend plenty on players - i can't see asking price been an issue. Also KB may bleed fans dry but he will also see this as his chance at a big pay day.
They will have the best advisors money can buy and would run rings around Bates.

For the sake of next season Bates get this completed as quick as poss.

Yea quite right mate - I never accounted for there advisors n so on. I assume this guy will ultimately make Kenneth look like a flee regarding riches too lol.

I can just see why forest would also be an attractive club. People keep goin on like its a no brainer between Leeds n forest but I think them people are being a bit biast tbh - yes I think Leeds are a sleeping giant but at the same time Mr bates is enough to make anybody sling their hook!

I suppose its me just being used (as a Leeds fan) to being built up just to be shot down! I'm forever hopeful but until bates goes then the big word is hope lol!

I think rumours of a takeover is a load of crap started by Bates to take our minds off not signing any more players. We have no money, Premier League is a far dream and I am a proper pissed off supporter. We have the highest priced season tickets to watch what?

Much as I hate Bates I think you're wrong. LUST has been very busy in scouting for interested parties and there are now three of them with a clear frontrunner from the US. My concern is that Bates will continue to overprice the shares or will try to get a deal which leaves him in control.

The word is investment not take over,i think KB will probably sell so much of the club to the potential buyer let him/they spend their money on improving the squad to try get us to the pl,at which point he will sell the rest of the club at a much higher price to the same investor (obviously).That way he will maximise his profit without taking any risks with his own money...i think it would take a really serious bid(OVERPRICED) to get Kb to walk away completley at the moment

The host asked which team he bought? is it on prem?QPR/ he siad no.. champions? yes.. the host asked was it Watford? he replied no but a better club from both and got a history,

he tried to buy QPR , he asked for 52% shares and they said ok then they change their mind with 30% of shares on the last min.

after this , he bought the whole Leeds UTD shares and he now owns everything of the club.

I have just arrived back on Sunday from Dubai, where i met with many customers of which some were from Kuwait, i can honestly tell you all that Leeds United are massive in Kuwait, everybody knows Leeds, there is a very large fan base there. Obviously while i was there i did not know about the rumours flying around now, all i can say is that it certainly fits very well, football in Kuwait is very big, ok the big clubs scum, man city, liverpool chelsea arsenal all mentioned only other club is Leeds, i wish i had asked about nottingham forrest just to see? if i had known. I personally will be amazed if this guy buys forrest, know one cares over there where as if he buys Leeds it is totally different. I promise you Ed and all this is true stuff. {Ed013's Note - I hope so because when I was in Kuwait I had a Leeds flag, but no one recognized it. That was 2003 though and I didn't really take much notice so I don't doubt you}

listen forrest fans are in the dark just as much as us about potential buyers or investors think we just have to try relax for a week or so b4 we truly know whats going on even though its hard to hide the excitement at times as we've hit such a low of the last few years! couldnt help gettin my hopes up also! but listen bates is a shrewd business man as been said many a time and only he know what he wants from the club my guess and its only a guess that its not a take over as such but bates will let a group invest in the club get it to the PL then sell it on to the investors as the club wud be worth double! as sneaky as it sound i think that maybe the way he wants to go that way he loses nothing and yet has everything to gain irish leeds fan!

just looked on the forrest rumours page and their saying basically the same as us, (takeover from a man from kuwait) they havent got as many posts as us but still quite worrying, im just confused to whats going to happen to our club.jem {Ed013's Note - Don't worry there is nothing you can do. Possibly the biggest news in decades for either club and about 4 of them have commented on their page. I'm pretty sure he'll be buying them tbh but if only potential buyers would look on these discussion forums they would realise just which club's fans crave some success the most.

I have to laugh at some of the posts on here sometimes. OK we have had the best news this week that we have had almost 10 years with Billionaire buisness men showing interest in saving our fantastic club and finally Ken Bates close to leaving our club alone and moving on... But (and it is a big but) people seem to be getting carried away with it a little to say the least. We are not going to be able to jump straight in and start getting big big name players this summer. Things take time and don't just happen overnight. We need to build a squad capable of winning the Championship that is our main objective. I hear people talking about players that teams at the top end of the Premiership would be looking at (not a team which finished 14th in the 2nd tier of english football)

seriously guys... what's next that we are going to be offering big money and big wages for Messi, Ronaldo, Van Persie and the rest of them.

one step at a time, we need to get our current players signing contracts first then move to get some players in who can cut it in the Premiership who realistically would drop a division knowing that they will be back the season after with a new look Leeds United.

i hope as much as anyone that this kuwait lad takes us over but with our club nothing is certain until its black and white and on the OS , whoever it is its not ken bates so for me that is good but just dont all assume this lad is taking us over yet, i know he has spoken of warnock and im sure warnock wouldnt jump ship for the money as he would be hated motre than he ever has so im hoping. {Ed013's Note - Who knows, he isn't driven by money, he is driven by getting that 8th promotion}

Here is some stuff I picked up from the interview on Kuwaiti TV. It points FAR more to Leeds than it does to Forest...

''Hasawi: SO far what has just happened is that we SIGNED an agreement.

Hasawi: It will be announced in 2 weeks and maximum end of June.

the presenters are urging him to say who, he said no i really can't today I assigned an agreement and I cannot and not allowed to say who.

He mentioned Warnock He said, you know the manager that took QPR up, we are currently negotiating with him to 'manage' or 'stay' with the club that i have purchased.

After that, what he said is that 'this' manager believes that this club has potential to go up

Then he said something about we believe that this manager (warnock) believes the potential of this team and thinks they can go up. (Now this is about leeds)

This interview is so confusing I honestly cannot make out clearly.

Last bit and this is the interesting bit. The presenters asking him so this team was challenging for promotion last season? where they one of top teams of that division?
He said, smiling, well quite the opposite, the finished below. Then he said warnock however believes that the team has potential.''

Sounds pretty conclusive as such, but it's still important not to get our hopes up yet, not until anything is concrete. We can hope however!

Surely if there was an interview where would prove he has said all of the above then this would be everywhere right now. LUFC website, BBC Sport, Sky Sports News... fact that no one is mentioning this I would say that this is just some person saying what we all want to hear but no truth in it what so ever.

Fawaz al hawasi did admit the club he has made a bid for have a great history... we have such a better history than them also he is responding or someone linked with him on twitter is responding to leeds fans on twitter very positively.

Lets just steady down for a minute, OK if we are taken over and the long term furture is concrete and funds are there for players then great news, but know one is asking the question, what about Warnock, this is my question to All, I like what this guy does, he knows what he wants from players, he has never had a large pot of cash to spend, he stated that at the end of next year is his last, this could be bad news for us, Why, then let me explain, NW will make this team very hard to beat, this team will die for him, this team will win things under him, these fans like him now what will happen when we do win things, he must under this new takeover?, be forced into a new 3 year contract. Just think about this, LEEDS UNITED in the premiership with Warnock, with money, with 35,000 crowds, with blood, guts and hunger, every club in europe would not relish ER. Lets start this going now, i am serious, i know what we can do, Warnock must stay through this period. it would be interesting to see how many agree.
