Leeds need an experienced, ambitious, talented, energetic and forthright manager.
The strikes against lower league managers are:
a) They have not managed in the championship of prem so don't know how to coach to that grade of play.
b) If they also haven't played at least at championship level, how the heck are they going to know what they are doing and more importantly perhaps have the respect of players to attract and retain the best.
Newcastle, who we play next year, have Benitez. players will come to play for Benitez.
Feeling about as low as I have ever done in 46 years supporting the club.
Blimey. bloody mess.

Yeah, what did the Romans ever do for us. lol.
Would you seriously want Benitez in charge though?
The likes of Benitez, Warnock, etc are always there at the END of a season trying to motivate players to do what they are capable of, but they are also guilty of 'losing' a team themselves?
Lets just keep Evans and stick a plaster over his gob between games.?

Benitez,
would take him in a heart beat. Did you see the Toon Army pleading for him at the end of the season. And you know what. at least their ownership and management listened. Warnock, not quite achieved as much though has he.
Leeds needs someone who will BOTH get us promoted AND will make us viable challengers in the Premier league. We shouldn't be asking for less than this. Mr Cellino shouldn't be looking for anything less.
We are Leeds! MOT.

No pressure there then for the new manager!

It's not about having a really great manager as it is acquiring better players. Another thing that helps is a good preseason which means having a preseason to begin with.

Its a balance George, to say players are the answer but not a manager is at best naive (just look at Chelski the past season compared to Leicester or Real only a few ago when they had the best individuals going but Barcelona dominated) . An ex player/ pundit laid it out pretty well a few seasons ago, for promotion you are looking at 8 areas contributing around 10 points each over a season (Keeper, Center backs, Full backs, center mid, wide men/ wingers, forward/ s, manager, coaching staff) . Obviously some are going to do more, others less but looking at what we have I think that a top manager, Center back and winger probably adds 15-20 points on last year.
Also Toronto would I take Benitez? No, the guy is just another LVG, tactics 10 years out of date. Big Sam kept a £75m Sunderland side up, Benitez couldn't do the same in a similar time period with a team worth at least twice the price.
