Looking at the stats Huddersfield are probably a bigger team than us. I mean, they've won the top division three times, same as us. They've won the FA cup once, same as us, but they also won the Yorkshire Electricty Cup in '95, so no shame in it for us! πŸ˜‰

If I could just give a plug for Danum who sparked this post, it is current-ly one of the punniest posts we have had this year. It gets my volt all day long. He will of course come down to earth or will be shocked when a better post is posted. Hope he doesn't blow a fuse. Anyway this is ridiculous I am going to pull the pin before someone knocks my lights out. LEEDS UNITED - MOT

Vitor orta confirmed as director of football. ? Does this mean we will get a head coach rather than a seasoned ( experienced) manager ? Does vitor choose the players to come in with head coach no say. Or does head coach say yes to the ones he agrees on with vitor. ? Thoughts guys ?

Sacks proved last season to be average. Yes he's got pace but no end product whatsoever. For me, he should be on the bench and come on for the last 15 - 20 mins but do we really need a sub who costs us 1.7m? . A new manager needs to be appointed asap to be given a bit of time to assess the squad and identify areas that need strengthening and then be allowed to bring in his own players otherwise I can see us slipping back to the bottom half of the table.

Alf they sacked him because they want bundesliga and champions league success. We are quite at that level. You could say that enough same about Jose for almost all the other managers not the world on that score!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2017 00:19:47
My guess is Huddersfield got promoted. We didn't Huddersfield played attacking football. We didn't Huddersfield didn't bottle it. We did. Huddersfield could string passes together. We couldn't Huddersfield had attacking midfielders. We didn't Huddersfield had more than one scorer. We didn't Huddeesfield didn't have monk. We did Huddersfield didn't have bridcutt. We did. Huddedsfield will be back next year but richer. i'd have taken a play off win by penalties. They did!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2017 08:11:07
Its no the way i wrote it georgy pudd. Its obviously lost in translation. Just saying mg. that's the way it is mate. Other than newcastle they were the best i saw last season. that's why they got promoted and we didnt. Not to say we might not swap with them next year but credit where it is due lads.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2017 10:04:20
Be fair Aus, Udders did bottle it, they got within 5 points of the top 2 with 3 games in hand and ended up in the playoffs, their end of season wasnt much better than ours before the playoffs they just started further forward. Also how is it Bridcutts fault? his job was defensive and we had our best defensive record in years, if anyone is to blame its our wide men, less assists than our FB's and less goals than our CB's, a combined 10 goals more from them would have almost certainly seen us into the playoffs.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 May 2017 12:03:16
Gummi to be fair if anyone is to blame it's monk!

Agree1 Disagree0

30 May 2017 13:11:22
I blame monk and bridcutt tbh. Monks tactics and bridcutts complete failureto pass a ball forward. But yes add to that toothless midfield and wingers. Still went up though gummie. Diff is. They switched off when they had enough points. We switched off before. I don't know why people just can't say it how it is rather than not seeing how crap we were and how they deserved what they got. No big deal. Will prob never happen again. But this season hudds had better team and manager than we had.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 May 2017 13:29:21
I blame Monk more than the players. It was his decision to go ultra defensive and he never once changed it up. When Wood was out, he just stuck Doukara up front on his own, rather than trying 4-4-2 or giving Ant a chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 May 2017 13:42:00
i wouldn't say we were crap but we clearly weren't good enough. why the doom and gloom though i really enjoyed the season and hopeful we can build on it next year. the future's bright, the future's white.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2017 14:35:41
The future is bright mate and the season was bettee than previous mainly down to good defense and wood. Dosent mean i can't be critical mate. Take rough with smooth. Good and bad. See it how it is. Know what i mean?

Agree1 Disagree0

30 May 2017 14:42:39
The doom and gloom is because we could be in the PL now but we're stuck in this cra ppy league for another season. And I don't see 7th as a success sorry.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 May 2017 16:38:44
Ausman, I get what you are trying to say but it is coming across that we didn't get promoted because we are not Huddersfield. Singling out Bridcutt is unfair, granted he did not have a great season but neither did most of the midfield and attacking unit (Wood and Viera aside).

The clubs decision to appoint Monk late created a scramble to recruit players and not enough pre-season preparation which affected us in the first six games. Monk not deciding upon a style of play (in the first six games) and then rigidly sticking to the style of play in the last two months did not help.

Training ground bust ups, lack of investment in January leave a small squad running on empty towards the end of the season all contributed missing out but finishing the highest we have for a number of years.
