Of all the recent games I think Villa is the best benchmark for our position. Unless there is a Titanic like crash, Wolves are home and hosed and Barnsley are lower half team but Villa could be scrapping with us for a promotion spot come the end of the season. As an indicator I would of course be only too happy to see a resounding victory however my eyes will be on the type of play. If we come off the field with an "unlucky Leeds" headline then I know that we did ourselves proud and the future is bright.

Not "happy" Aussie but even in defeat (IF it happens) I will be looking for commitment, not collapse heads up not down and style not shambles. If I see the fight then I will not panic in the knowledge of one defeat in one game but rather be optimistic that the signs of success are there for the future and with only slight tweaks promotion is at hand.

I wouldn't really want another defeat until the new year or feb now. Weve had more than what is nec!

Tonight should be the first 3 points in a surge back to the top, sitting in second place after the Xmas fixtures. Please Santa, Please.

I would probably leave Hernandez on the bench. If O'Kane is injured I would play Shaunessy, Vierra and Phillips. Then Saiz, Alioski Ecuban and Lassoga. Usual back five.

Totally agree Wex, he lacks energy and workrate which is what keeps defenders occupied and worried in this league

Lassoga sort of reminds me of Dimitar Berbatov. He scored goals but looked sluggish. Also struggled learning English. With words like "defending" "tackling" and "tracking back" not in his vocabulary.

I liked berbatov. Not a fan of lass. Far too slow and lazy.

We would win for sure with that team. Well i'd hope so anyway, with the extra player and all!

Predictions then, I think it will be a really good game and a huge one for the league. Their full backs are good, not as good as ours. Their GK is probably better on his day. Their CB's on a par. But going forward we are by far the better team if the right midfield and attack are played. TC needs to be careful with team selection. For me the team we need to play should be: Wiedewald, Ayling, Jansson, Cooper, Berardi, O'kane, Phillips (Vieira and Shaun to sit out because vieira has only just come back, and these two have a better distribution than shaun) , Alioski on the left, saiz through the middle, and Ekuban on the left. he's got pace and power and imo will cause Hutton some serious issues on that left with these attributes. Up top, if fit, Lassoga. he's strong and a brute, and with the right service, finds the goal, he's contributed to 9 goals out of our 29 so far, and i don't think we can refuse to play him. He knows Ekuban and Roofe are stepping up, and is probably aware that were in the market for someone else, so i think he will up his game. Its a strong 11 with power, pace, and good qualities. I think we'll edge it 2-1.

Two on the left, that will confuse the opposition. It has already confused me 🤔
