M.O.T..
Thanks to poster 5 for the translation!
The takeover has nothing to do with the players there here for one thing and thats to play for leeds united so why would they be worried about it the only people that are worrying about it are us fans that want a end to the saga we dont deserve it Dale mot!

Salem Patel the investment officer of GHF said 'we hope to buy back elland road eventually'
I'm sorry but the word 'eventually' does not sound like a cash rich investor, it could be that the finance is not as readily available as we all hope.
It's vital we have a passionate owner, and board with ambition this time and with a lot of money to back things up

Have you ever thought the owners of Elland RD dont want to sell ? just because the club itself is for sale doesnt mean ER and TA are.
i wish people on here would stop assuming this
30 Sep 2012 19:11:34
Have you considered the current owner may be refusing to sell? if that is the case it doesn't matter how much money they have
30 Sep 2012 21:39:14
I understand that Leeds City Holdings - the parent company of Leeds have an exclusive option to buy. So the new owners have to acquire that company before they can even think about buying ER.
I was of the understanding that the council originally bought ER on the understanding that the club could purchase when it was able to. This was then sold on to at least o e other company with the same clause. TA is different though and the club missed a certain deadline. I may be wrong as everything always been a big secret in recent years

Id rather he concentrated on the squad first to be honest. Then buy Elland Road.

Leeds United's takeover has taken a new twist.
The Daily Star Sunday says Middle East company GFH Capital are facing more frustration as they bid to seal their £52million buy-out of Leeds.
The Bahrain investment firm believed they were close to completing a takeover of the Yorkshire outfit after talks with United owner Ken Bates last week.
But now they are in a fight to see off potential challenges in their bid to seize control of the Championship club by buying up Bates' 72.85 per cent stake.
The sale has stalled because would-be buyers from Saudi Arabia and the United States are poised.
Now there is a very real prospect of counter offers surfacing following the appearance of American investors in the Elland Road directors' box at the Championship clash with Yorkshire rivals Hull 12 days ago.

Pls correct me but if gfh have signed an agreement no one can at this moment come in and out muscle them ,if they proceed with with the deal to purchase Leeds city holdings as agreed in the exclusive period,I'm sure they will be a date that this agreement expires but until then they are in pole position to conclude the investment/ t/o that's the way I see it

I had a conversation with someone who definitely would have the ear of KB late last week. In his words the take over was a mess and the recent press releases from GFH had not helped. The delay was basically down to money not being paid beyond an initial £2M deposit despite an instalment due in July. In the interim the buyers had offered to provide cash to invest in the squad but pulled back when they were told it would not affect the price agreed for the club when the deal was completed. They had asked for deposit back but were refused. He said that there was a real worry that the money just was not there and that the press had got hold of this - stories in the press since seem to support this premise.
This person would be sympathetic to KB; however, from what he is saying, if the money had been paid, KB would have signed and been gone by now. Everyone seems to be convinced that GFH are fronting the deal for some wealthy consortium, but I have seen no evidence of this? Perhaps all the optimism is a bit deluded and the protests not relevant - should supporters not just get on with the season and let investment take its course?

Utter rubbish, if this was the case Bates would have pulled the plug long ago
30 Sep 2012 13:08:31
Does any else think that Ken Bates may have been saving the club these past few months by NOT signing!?
Before everyone attacks my please hear my thoughts!
It has come to light that the investment group have been loosing money hand over fist. Bates will have known this and therefore could he have stalled on the signing as he didn't want to leave us with debt, after all he must have prided himself in turning the club around from debt ridden to debt free!
So maybe, just maybe do you think he could have been waiting to see the investors profit results following the restruturing of their company.
Now that they are appear to have turned things around he is satisfied that they won't run us into the ground.
If this is the case I for one am grateful to the man. Lets face it, if thats the case I would be happy to stay as we are. Just think of the last 10 years. I wouldn't want to have an amzing 5 years and champions league followed the last ten years again in League One (or lower), or even worse dispandment.
Just thoughts, but I know people will certainly hate me for posting a supportive comment for Mr Bates.
I was thinking the very same. I do hate bates but maybe there was method to his madness
BC
More likely he didn't want to lose money himself, they probably wanted to spread their payments to him over a time period. i wouldn't accept that either.
Bates has no affection for Leeds what so ever. His sole concern is getting a hefty payday from GFH. As for saving Leeds, he took us into administration, wiping all the debts away, and managed to buy the club back under dubious circumstances. So much for shrewd business management?! The man is a crook, simple as that, He is not interested how GFH finance the deal or what their balance sheet looks like, just so long they do. His only concern will be making sure the cheque doesn't bounce when it comes. GFH i think are merely brokers for this deal. I believe there are other, as yet unnamed parties involved in this. GFH, in my view, is merely a conduit for others to do business, therefore their balance sheet is irrelevant....I hope?!
Got the bubbly on ice for the day the tax dodger does one.
LLHB MOT
Bates' earlier comment saying they had assured that potential buyers had the financial muscles to support the club further should suggest otherwise. But it's a growing concern that buyers is a company in such severe debts that they se the millions of the PL the best escape... They'll have to get us up then, and that will take heavy investment! But so what? Are we drifting from bad to worse?
01 Oct 2012 09:56:09
A pause for thought - please recall the latter days of Peter Ridsdale, Prof. John McKenzie and that oaf Gerard Krasner. Ken Bates saved Leeds. He hasn't released transfer funds which we all want but he nonetheless was the man who prevented the Mighty Whites from oblivion. Like all Leeds supporters, I want to see the takeover and the potential land of milk and honey. But please, let Mr Bates go with dignity and respect the fact that he has done a good job in one of the most difficult and unrealistic-hope filled jobs in football.

What were all seeing here is journalists with fxxk all to do except stir sxxt. Due dilligence works both ways investigating those who are buying as much as those selling also the fit and proper rules are there for a purpose. The fact that this has taken so long must indicate that everything is being gone in to with fine tooth comb. I hate Bates but I believe him when he says he ain't selling to someone who will come in a ruin the work he's done in obtaining a positive balance sheet. He could have sold us ages ago. Stop with the sxxt stirring letsvget this deal concluded.

As a season ticket holder home and away i want this takeover and bates out of our club as much as anyone. However if gfh are carrying the debt and making the losses rwidely reported. the last we need is the glazers with man utd scenerio. Going from a solvent club to a club with massive massive debt hanging over it. i hope to god im proved wrong.
30 Sep 2012 12:17:38
If,as reported, there are others preparing bids, surely it makes sense to consider whats on offer,I know it just prolongs the agony, but even after all the abuse KB has suffered,he will still strive to leave Leeds in good hands,if it means him making even more money so what?we need proper investment, not landing back in debt, sort it out Ken.
To first poster and everyone on here it's clear what GFH wanna do. Invest. Get us in PL. Count investment as loans/losses for the company. Refer to improved assets on balance sheet and superior income and then take us public (IPO) sell their shares on market and get a pay day on their investment. Always consider their pay-off. That's it. IPO. Could be worth 350m. There's no other conceivable pay day for them. They're probably targeting 2016/7.
30 Sep 2012 10:00:09
Reports suggesting gfh have not got sufficient funds to take Leeds utd forward,a report in the national says they could be trying to put debts onto leeds utd,and when contacted last night they confirmed that gfh were acting as buyers and not as brokers, you have to question if they have the funds, but what is certain is they are in a lot of debt.

Plenty of people gutted about Beckford going to Huddersfield, but we've dodged a bullet in my opinion. He was training with the Youth Team at Leicester and got booed off for Hudds yesterday!
Becks was a wonderful player for us in League 1, but he offers nothing except goals, which don't come as easy as they once did. His pace has declined, he hasn't played regularly since 09/10 and by all accounts is prone to a poor attitude.
Look forwards, not backwards. MOT.
Offers nothing but goals!! Forgive me for being naive but surely the least you want from a strikes is goals. No goals means poor striker ...if a strike does nothing but scares 50 goals, I .sm sure the fans won't mind
Perhaps the original poster could have explained things differently? I know exactly what he means - It's just sometimes you need to draw pictures for those who do not see the wood for the trees. As an example - Ian Hart used to score goals on a regular basis but to the keener eye he was responsible for far more leaked in due to his inept defending. The point is that a better striker will not only score goals but put himself out to assist others. I feel that Beckfords days of putting himself out are long gone! I agree with the original poster a bullet well dodged there!!
The difference between beckford and Harte is that beckfords job is to score goals
Hartes was to stop people scoring goals
He was cak at that
Stupid point

I for one would absolutely love it if Norwich -ity go down and we go up. The likes of Johnson, Howson, Snakeinthegrass are only championship players.
The touble with snodgrass is he thought he was bigger than leeds but has gone to a tin-pot club like norwich who will always be just a good championship club.
Don't agree, Johnson, Howson, and Snod are quality players! It sound childish to bad mouth them because they dared to move from our club. Is it wrong to want to play PL football, there is no guarantee of achieving this with LUFC just yet!
Not one of them is a premier league player there average championship players at best and time will tell when they get relegated this season
Russ
I dont think my post was childish in any way the fact of the matter is snodgrass would still be in a scottish 2nd division team if our club hadnt given him a chance. As for howson & johnson they took the shortcut to the premiership instead of tuffing it out with leeds, i will luv it as we are waving to them as we go up and they go down. All three leeds players you refer to are in their early twentys so im sorry in my eyes they just cut and run end of.
Who cares, theyre in the past, look to the future

i dont care what anyone says if your offered more money by some1 else whether you think your good enough for the job or not, YOU TAKE IT, thats life

True
But then have the balls to say that instead of talking about ambition then joining Norwich!!

looks like Bristol City couldn't handle the Tonge lashing shot. The players are looking fitter and more organised. Still having a few blips at the back, know doubt the Sgt will put that right. The longer we play togeather, the better we are getting. I really hope we've done away with the Tuesday hoodoo. Bolton will be a good test of that.
