The January transfer window opens shortly! One man who should be busy is our Head of Recruitment, Martyn Glover! Although he seems to be keeping, a low profile? The only news lately about him was Sunderland allegedly, wanted him? He could well be tying up his own transfer from the club? Hopefully a straight swop for Bridcutt? Happy New Year All!

Evans pointedly said he wanted no 'bad apples' upsetting the squad. If true, that would rule out Stokes. Not sure about lafferty - doesn't seem a goal scorer more in the Morison/ Wood mould - leading the line but not scoring. Crouch? Don't think so. Good in short term but not a team building prospect and wages? Bridcutt or similar is an absolute must. If one man has changed our fortunes its him. Does the necessary and stops a lot of the play that causes our centre halves the most trouble. CH on loan. Not fully happy with any of out present ones although the most skilful of yhe three is Belusci. If he could cut out the unforced errors hw would be fine. The other two are your traditional big lumbering defenders who will always concede, Belusci playing we usually concede oneor none. With Bamba and Cooper always two sometimes more. Therefore we need a better Bamba/ Cooper and A better Belusci if we are going to be consistently solid.

Transfer window opening. Hope we get Bridcutt on a perm or loan for the rest of the season. Kilgallon and Williamson on loan for experienced CBs. Pritchard on loan for Tottenham and Grabban on loan from Norwich. Byram signs a new contract and get Limbombe from NEC. Not too much to ask I hope!

Evans said three signings so assuming a CB, a DM (since Bridcutts loan is finishing) and a ST. I would be happy with Bridcutt on a permanent, Stokes from Celtic and, if Bolton have the expected fire sale, Wheater (though I read something saying we where tracking Dervite) .
Out going would be Sloth and Bianchi permanently if they are not going to get played with Philips, Coyle, Erwin and maybe even Botaka out on loan.

some won't agree but time to man up . taylor cook byram all need a 5 year contract . bridcutt we need to buy . then we need three good signing . it's coming good so now mc it's time for the move to but us up in the play off's . cook is going to be great we need to build around him ok young but he could give us many many years . taylor as well . time to put up mc . this is what ever fan wants and so should you if your staying .

I've always wonder why the young uns aren't on longer contracts. Once the Byram saga ends we'll be faced with the same next year with Cook. It seems odd that a player like Bianchi got a 3-4 year deal and the youth, which are all tipped for the very top get offered 1-2 year deals?

Brid. Byram. Taylor. Berradi For sure
It's time we paid what we need to within reason to keep talent.
Wooten. Cook. Mowatt. Adey. Anti. Belucci. Bubbling under
One goaleth dosent make a striker though!
So I reckon. Ist name on sheet central def and striker and we in top 6. Plus consistent quick setter upper Scorer and we top 2 ish
Nearlly there
Time for big push mc!

You are right. Now is the time to twist not stick. 9 points in this league is not unassailable.

MM you're spot on and oneleeds. As I said on rumours I think the young talent we have will be gone in the summer if we don't go up . We need to show some ambition and spend. If we do this under the big fella I genuinely think we can do it. Call me insane but maybe even automatically. I recall a few years ago Reading were nowhere at Christmas and ended up going up automatically. Come on mc, hand in your pocket time son . We can do it!

Lanky

While I admire your optimism regarding top two there's more chance of me coming back home from my NYE celebrations and finding a naked and oiled Emilia Clarke and Mila Kunis frolicking in Mrs Integrity's bed waiting for me to come and slam in the lamb.

Let's aim for 6th bro.

If we are going to spend money: Bridcott should be first on the list. He has made a difference and must be worth what we paid for Wood. After that CH and striker would be the bonus. We know what we are getting with Bridcott the others (if any) would be a 'let's hope' arrangement. Loan with option to buy would be the safest bet.

I would be happy with Bridcutt and keeping Sam, Wooton has come good which is a surprise so why not try him at CB? Pace up front on loan hopefully but team is doing well .

Big Stevie E has stated that he has already identified players to fill Birdcutt's position if we don't retain him. He said he had been playing well but there are other players who could play in that holding roll just as well, so if we don't keep him it's not the end of the world. He has been playing well granted, but it's the system that's working well and the players around him. If we do sell Sam I'd like to think that we'd offer the £3m that's been touted for Birdcutt but he might not want to stay. 'No bad apples' said Stevie E, although I can't imagine he's a fan of any fruit unless it appears on a gateaux!

If building a squad to get to premier league and stay there, think we need to bring in 2 centre half's . another defensive midfielder, some real attacking pace, and a real game changer type player . with that touch of quality,

Now it's official
Apple fail the FL fit and proper owners test so they can't buy an English Championship football club but they can buy an any EPL club they wish.
What a crazy situation this FL have got themselves into.

Untouchables

The PL was always a breakaway league. People forget that. This proves it. It's the same scenario with the Fortune 500. Most of the big cheeses involved with those companies are men of questionable integrity to put it mildly.
