I know this is a rumour site but thought I will try my luck. All this talk of the glory days thought I would advertise the fact that I have all the signatures of the Leeds team from when we won the league. All of them from speed Mcallister cantona and so on. If anyone wants a copy for £10 including postage leave you email and I will contact you. Thanks. Sorry ed. You guys can carry on guessing who Leeds new owners will be. Go on Ian Beale {Ed013's Note - You will need to try a different site. I cannot allow personnel emails onto the site. Post on an auction site and post me a link that I will pass on}

I bet half of you on here haven't been to Elland Rd since Leeds were in the Premiership. I bet some of you that comment have never been to Elland Rd! How many of you, like me, have bought your season ticket year after year, from the old division 2 to the old division 1 to the Premiership, down to the Championship, league 1 and back up again. Some of you must sit there and think I am going to make something up to get a reaction as some of the stuff you come out with is utter rubbish. You moan about Ridsdale and now Bates. You moan about Grayson and now Warnock. Its time to get behind the team, not just because of the potential investment or takeover, but because we are Leeds United and the 11 players on that pitch deserve to play in front of an atmosphere that scares the life out of away teams. Forget about all the people you dislike, if you can afford it, get to Elland Road and sing for Leeds United.

Season ticket holder now and always.

Believable15 Unbelievable19

What makes you have more say or more of a supporter than most of us, I've been a season ticket holder since 1999 due to my age but I don't disrespect people who are less fortunate to buy a season ticket every season, just because they don't have a season ticket does mean they don't follow every step the club takes, I have friends that look at every update and that and that canonly afford or able to attend a few games a season but follow the club immensely, so just because you have a season ticket doesn't mean you above everyone and gives you the licence to look down your nose at everyone

Agree21 Disagree6

Spot on reply. I for one have kids and can't afford season tickets. But love Leeds more than anything (apart from family) it annoying when people make comments that are not needed.

Agree19 Disagree7

10 of us travel from Dublin 3 times a year . We're not season ticket holders and we dont go to every game but every spare bob we have goes on supporting our beloved Leeds, and has done for the past 30 years. Dont try to tell me I'm not a fan. MOT .

Agree19 Disagree5

Mate were not Scum fans, weve actually been to a Leeds game that can get there, its not gamesmanship, just because youve been to more games than some people on here doesnt make you more of a fan than others! i hate fans that judge the support leeds united-ometer based on the amount of live games theyve been to

Agree14 Disagree4

Stupid post in first place - ive been going to ER since 84-85 and never had a season ticket just used to pay 50p with my junior whites - point is every fan cannot be fortunate with a family to go week in week out it at all - i for one never dismiss the fact they have no opinion on our club - take a close look at the scandanavian supporters who work just to see Leeds every week - are they more loyal than you?

Respect to all fans

Woody

Agree16 Disagree4

Totally agree just because you have a season ticket doesn't mean your more of a fan or entitled to more of an opinion than someone who has never been to Elland road. I've been a season ticket holder since my dad bought me our 1st season ticket in 1995 and I was 8. I'm Leeds through and through. The only thing that gets my back up is the people who haven't been to the games that have no understanding of the way the team is set up and think that the sun will always shine out of certain players backsides without actually being there to see it. I post on here regularly and I come on everyday and since this time last year all it does it fill me with negativity. We are Leeds we should stop fighting amongst ourselves. Show some support for the boss the players and the rest of the fans. You can't tell me that all the bates out chants at games didn't have a negative impact on the team last year.

Sm MOT

Agree11 Disagree5

I must have hit a nerve there with some of you. There is as much agree's as disagree's. Anyway, I was purely stating my opinion and like the young lad says in the last post, all we hear is negativity. I truly believe that a lot of fans on here just try and cause trouble and don't really know what they are saying. Anyway, here's to true fans of our great club. MOT.

Season ticket holder now and always

Agree4 Disagree10

I dont live in UK anymore as i live downunder but i do my best to get to a game once every two years. {Ed013's Note - Can you do any scouting for us over there. We miss the Aussie players}

Agree8 Disagree1

I live and grew up in the suburbs of London and I could've supported arsenal, chelsea, tottenham etc. But I chose to support Leeds because I am passionate and those other clubs don't suit me. So I, through choice, having never seen the revue glories or even the champions league days, still support my club as much as if they were prem champions. So you want to say that you are more credited as a fan? Just because you happen to live in the Yorkshire area?! How dare you try to deny my club from being supported just because I can't get to Elland Road because of where I live and other commitments (school etc.). ffs I don't get some people. Being on your high horse just cos you can get to ellland road.

Agree12 Disagree1

Im 48 years old i have a season ticket when i can aford it, at the mo i cant went to my first game at 6 years old i remember when i used to go and pay on the gate back in the good old days, dont slag off your fellow leeds fans we all have diferent lives seen some good times and bad,and still going when i can
with my grown up boys who can aford a season ticket cos they still live at home with me lol. mot rj

Agree9 Disagree1

I am not from Yorkshire, I am from Devon and I don't hold it against anyone that tries their best to get there and I also understand it is a hard times with money. My problem is with the glory hunters that will all come back once in the Premiership and the one's that claim to know everything, but actually just make it up.

Season ticket holder now and always

Agree1 Disagree7

Lived on the Isle of Man for 21 years, before i moved i was a season ticket holder, now it costs approx 300 quid a game (boat/plane, hotel etc) I still try to get to at least 3 games a season (approx 1k). Cant afford any more but that doesnt make me less of a fan surely ?

Isle of Man white - MOT {Ed013's Note - Definitely not}

Agree7 Disagree0

I agree that there are lots of people who psot on this site, regarding signings, or the well being of the club who havnt got a clue. seeing live games does give you a better insight into the players, the team, and the club. Saying that, im probably more passionate than some season ticket holders and i only go to about 15 games a season as i live in bristol.

Agree4 Disagree0

I like how he didn't leave his name.

Nameless.

Agree4 Disagree0

Good for you poster, i hope your bank manager is as happy for you as i am.

Agree2 Disagree0

My name is George and I have hit a nerve with some of you. If you know you support Leeds and you are proud then there is no need to reply! I am in the Scarborough Taps every match day and everyone that drinks with me shares the same opinion as do the people agreeing with me.

Season ticket holder now and always - George.

Agree1 Disagree5

Bloody hell we all support Leeds! Grow up lads

Agree3 Disagree3

Ed the Aussie league is poor at best. The amateur leagues below the A league have better players but they are mostly rejects from England and Ireland. Oh and an absolute balls of a first post, I've hit a nerve blah blah blah it's not a nerve you have hit it's the verbal diarrhea which annoys the fans that can't get a season for a bloody good reason.

Agree2 Disagree0

Look if you've backed Leeds throughout League one etc whether your a bloody armchair fan or a regular attender to ER then your a true fan!! Its the plastics that turn up that havent ''followed'' the team in years that are the ones that grate on me. The more the merrier but lets just hope that the regular fans dont get their noses pushed out if we are to progress this season and the seasons that follow!< heres hoping. Lets just all look to be positive Id rather have a full ground and the team be doing well even if it attracts those that jump on the bandwagon, then have low attendences and mediocre football in the Championship {Ed013's Note - I wrote to Mr Bates mid way through the season and asked him to drop the ticket prices and do more deals for kids etc. He said that he can't due to upsetting the season ticket holders. I for one couldn't care less as long as we had a full ground to create the atmosphere and I have been a season ticket for years. My only gripe is that if you are a season ticket holder then you should get more benefits, for instance 20% off in the shop instead of 10% or bring a free child etc etc! He did make an effort by offering a free shirt with every child's ticket! My son now has 3 home shirts!!!}

Agree3 Disagree0

George
Some of us go to all the games . Leeds fans from Ireland ,Scandanavia, and all over GB attend less . What we all have in common, however, is passion. That's what makes us Leeds. I'm Irish and I'm Leeds. I've been to many sporting occassions in many countries but the promotion game against Bristol will never be surpassed for passion and atmosphere in my mind. The vast majority there that day were not regular attendees but they were , to a man ( and woman ) Leeds, Passionate Leeds. MOT

This isn't a rumour but if all this talk of takeover and investments is going to happen it needs to happen now before all the big transfers go ! Then yet again well be left with the players nobody else wants leading to another season of hurt . But on the bright side at lest things are moving forward slowly but surely ! Do u agree ?

MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable1

We started off the closed season talking about all the players we were going to bring in. Now that we're in to June I'd say Bates needed a little diversionary tactic. There is no takeover bid, there is no new investment , and there is no new team. Expect more mediocrity next season. Bates Out and out now.

Agree4 Disagree5

I dont think Bates could afford to use those sort of tactics. He knows he needs to do something soon.

Agree2 Disagree1

I think bates came in and sold the ground and training pitch and took us into administration ,he then used the funds from these sales and the money as now run out and he is now looking to get us sold , if we do get taken over i would expect players of an high calibre to be coming in from the prem league none of this clingan and mills need to start looking at proper players

Agree2 Disagree2

Well the transfer window starts on 9th june

I'm honestly not bothered about the Kuwaiti guy. Chicago/Canada whatever consortium. They're all rumour and speculation.
Takeover/Investment it doesn't really matter they're all rumour mixed in with truth.
What is certainly true is that Leeds Utd football club will now be attracting the attention of potential suitors who for whatever reason hadn't realised our potential growth/fanbase/newsworthyness and now realise what a great acquisition they would be.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

The information about a 'takeover' has come from reliable sources. We should not doubt those who have orchestrated this opportunity.

b4 we get to over confident about larrys track record i too think he is a great young manager but the expectatations at leeds were nt helping him warnock is the best man for the job at this present time and spare a thought for lee clarke he built that side at our quiet neighbours !! and larry nearly blew that ! mot nicky bee

Believable4 Unbelievable3

But Clark couldnt get them promoted while he was in charge, Grayson got them promoted, and i wouldnt say he nearly blew it, he came up against a very good Sheff United side

Agree1 Disagree0

Simon Grayson is a good manager but not a brilliant one. He has struggled with the clubs he has managed in the championship but I'm sure he'll improve.

Agree4 Disagree0

When clarke was there in his last few months they was getting too many draws and would of probably struggled to get through the play-offs grayson went there and changed how they play and was losing a few games and was looking like they could drop out of playoff spots but eventually they started winning games and got promoted .grayson will end up with a better record than warnock in my opinion if he stays around league 1 and championship level for the rest of his time as manager

Agree1 Disagree1

31 May 2012 20:59:43
Neil Warnock is a very predictable manager, he didnt do well at Palace, He didnt do well with qpr once he took them up, and hes just had the worst second half to a season ive ever seen at elland road.
Warnock will buy Kenny, Morgan, Hill, Derry, Montgomery, Smith, Hulse, Helgusan.
It will be a dogfight next season and there will be challenges left right and centre. It will be the most ugly team weve seen and no pretty football on show. But i think he could take us up by the skin of our teeth. {Ed013's Note - He did OK at Palace by saving them from relegation and at QPR he was above the relegation places before he was sacked. What will please you, Jose Mourinho?!}

Believable7 Unbelievable2

I agree Jose Mourinho would be perfect for Leeds but with his signing an extension to his contract last week this is now very unlikely

Agree5 Disagree0

Or we could have dalglish hes free !! lol in warnock we trust !!!

Agree1 Disagree3

We definitely will not sign smith and monty, get that into your head for a start

Agree5 Disagree0

If we get taken over we wont sign many of them players. we will be able to spend millions rather than thousands

Agree2 Disagree0

31 May 2012 20:55:35
Should i expect a barrage of abuse to come my way after saying this? LOL
but what is everyones obsession with Warnock?
Ok, he has a proven track record, and he's a really nice guy, down to earth, says it how it is etc, but his record since arriving at the club is woeful. Has he even won a single game? I cant remember it if he did manage it.
The last game i attanded last season was the nottingham forest game, I walked out after the final whistle with my head in shame. It wasnt just that game, but every game, apart from the southampton performance has been the most awful football ever played at Elland road.
I dont understand why a section of Leeds fans felt Grayson had to go, I dont undertand Bates reasoning on sacking him. Ken Bates obviously does not watch many of the games.
I attended every home game last season and this season under Grayson and i have been entertained and pleased with the value for money. Yes, individual errors cost us, time and time again, but we were going up the other end and stuffing them too!
The birmingham game, Graysons last game, we lost 4-1.
At halftime i went for my pie and tea and i thought, we are stuffing them! Becchio has missed 3 clearcut chances, we could have been 5 up. second half we came out and played well, but 3 freak goals from that giant and it was a bad day at the office.
Grayson has been labelled with a tag by certain sections of the leeds fans which i dont like. "He was ok but he got his tactics all wrong, we let in too many goals".
Warnock - lets in 7! tactical genius is he?

If Leeds did get taken over, Id get rid of warnock and bring back grayson!

Dont use the tag now of "grayson got his signings all wrong", coz graysons list was bowyer,woodgate,smith,cork,gorkks,jones,macauley etc. If grayson had have got the signings he would have wanted and not been forced to do his best with freebies and loanees we wouldnt be left with no players, and a relegation dogfight next season.
Good luck to Warnock hes gonna need it. {Ed013's Note - You will find people are 50/50 with Simon, but people are getting behind Neil because he is proven and also it is right to get behind your manager. I like Simon and wish him well and really do wonder how he will do with the right backing. I suppose we will see that next year as the small team across the road have some cash! When I spoke to Simon's dad he said he was distraught and loved Leeds, so much so that he wouldn't resign. In my opinion, he should have resigned so he could have told the full story of what goes on behind the scene's and maybe more fans would respect him a little more. He is a young manager and I would have him back again in the future. For now it is time to get behind Neil, if he stays there is not many that can get Leeds out of this division. Keep the faith}

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Agree with your comments re NW but SG is not the man.

Agree4 Disagree4

There where always plenty of goals when watching Graysons team, unfortunately most of them where in the back of our net, Preston, Blackpool, Birmingham, Barnsley, he left that shocking defence for Warnock to perceiver with, let's judge Neil when he has his own squad.

Agree7 Disagree2

As we are all Having our opinion I may as well too, and I'll start with the bright spark Simon Grayson...
Let face he came to the club with passion, a breath of fresh air, left a legacy at Blackpool which ultimately seen them promoted and gave Leeds a team in league one that defended well (yes defended) and attacked with flair at the same time hence promotion, and we can put the wobble towards the end of that promotion season to tiredness. And majorly when appointed this shown Leeds united with massive ambition, and who does that please, me and you.
Now where Grayson fell down... First and foremost lack of experience, not with tactics, or players but with Chairman, something I will mention on the other hand later, his second biggest problem, being a Leeds United fan. The man was so scared of failing that he did what I think is called spread betting, he brought an average bunch because it ment we didn't see him get a major decision on that front wrong. And the fact lets face it, Uncle ken probably wasn't making a free flow of cash available, which is another topic and something I think that can now change.
Now then Niel Warnock, let's face it, by getting the man that makes getting out of this division his bread and butter let be honest, it's ambition, should keep me and you happy once again. And then why WE need Neil and it was Bates biggest mistake hiring him, he does have what Grayson lacked, experience with difficult chairman, how many times have we heard in interviews now with Niel, him playing the game and without directly saying it putting pressure on the chairman, and then he's the type of man with the balls to say, he played ..... Today, or the boards letting me down, and that's why I think we have all of a sudden "got" investor talks, either a clever game or bates know Niel will expose him.
And for that you ask what is, is down points, well it ugly football with flair players... Oh wait ( and I'm not old enought to have seen it live but you tube is great and my daddy's story's better) sounds like a team that dominated in he 70's.... Wonder who that was.
So there it is the comparison, Warnock is the man to get us out this division, purely because he plays bates like a cheap hooker dressed as his mistress, and that's just another reason to go to Elland Road this year!
MOT
Mark14

Agree7 Disagree1

Fair point there mark. I think your right there.

Agree4 Disagree0

WARNOCK is a fighter and biter. He doesnt pussy around with fuffy comments and will give it to you straight. Some players need a reality check and to deflate egos. I think he's the right guy at this stage and looking forward to backing him as I did Grayson. Players kick the ball and are entirely responsible for the result. Manager simply kicks arse and is our voice from the sidelines. Did you ever see Grayson display any physical reaction to how the players were performing during a match ?

Agree1 Disagree1

Mark14 you make some valid points, but you forget one very pertinent point, toward the end of October 2011 there was an article in a national newspaper regarding Larry Grayson and his alleged off the field antics with someone other than Mrs Grayson. The club made a statement, which was all they could do. Something along th elines of he's over21 he'll make his own decisions etc,etc. I notice round about this time the football wasn't great, the organisation of team all over the place. Players didn't have clue what they were expected to do in set plays, blah, blah blah. Now then would you like to explain to me and anyone else reading this why NW can talk to chairmen like a man, and SG couldn't? when his tactics were in his shell suit bottoms and not between his ears. The team was more or less the same as last season yet they were acting like strangers on the park. Just a theory I happen to hold.

Could not agree more, Warnock's gone on holiday waiting for the money to come available and when he returns he can get stuck into the market. Ed ? I love to here your thoughts on this takeover you usally one if the on people that talk any sense ? {Ed013's Note - No-one knows whether it is a takeover or investment apart from the one's involved. My theory is that its been going on for a couple of weeks and now all the rumours are getting out. I think either way Neil is involved as he has been really quiet and if this was done behind his back he would have kicked off with the lack of signings. Ken Bates silence says it all and I honestly feel that he has been found out and realises he can't take the club any further on his own. Either way, investment or takeover will give the club a better chance next season as long as it happens sooner rather than later due to lack of players etc}

Believable8 Unbelievable0

I totally agree with everything you say Ed, I think to be honest that when Neil Warnock came to us last season - even back then he knew this was all going to happen. We brought in Pearce when we did because he is a solid defender who is young and one for the future and we didn't want him to go the same way Ward went... we needed to get him before he went elsewhere. I do believe that we will get the 7 or 8 players in before season starts that he said we would which is why he let half our squad leave without thinking twice about it. He has gone on holiday now knowing when he returns there is a strong possibilty that Bates will be gone and he will have a transfer kitty to go out and buy whoever he wants... I would love to be a fly on his sun lounger now (I bet he is talking to players and agents daily ready for his return) good times ahead

We have no stadium or training ground we have around 15 mil worth of players so players plus Leeds united name is worth 30 mil tops . you wouldn't buy an empty packet of crisps when you can get the full packet for a similar price

To say its a no brainer is stupid and biast imo. Lets not forget like the 1st response says, they own there own ground n training ground for starters. Also there history is arguably better than ours and also you've actually contradicted yourself as you've even said he would own 100% of forest seen as their owner passed away a few months back. By all accounts the Kuwaiti bid is for Forest, we are in advanced talks with an unnamed American group, this is what everyone is reporting so I would suggest that this is accurate and the tweeters and bloggers linking us with the other groups are inaccurate.

I dont expect any deal to be completed for a few weeks yet, dont know where this will leave us in terms of building our squad for the upcoming season, but aslong as the investment/takeover is the right deal for all concerned with Leeds United I will happily take another mid-table slog next season and then build for the following campaign.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Isnt the rumour the take over is to be anounced by the end of june dont we start training at the begining of july ? I suppose we can play 5 aside for a few weeks until we can buy a player or two

bates is a clever old fox.he is using this
investment thing as a smokescreen so as to
delay in bringing in quality players.when the
window is about to close nw will not have
the funds as promised by bates and have no choice but to bring in loan or unwanted players.bates will then mention he is trying
to invest the club and inject funds in for nw to strenghten the club but after negoiating
he decides not to sell the club because the
investors could not match his asking price.
there you go.good excuse to the supporters.no players brought in.end of the
day bates win and gets to keep the club.as
a result dissapointment for the supporters
and nw will join forest.bates win.checkmate.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

As much as it pains me I have a sinking feeling that this may well be the case.

Happy little soul aren't you - bless!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Bates has labelled us 'morons' in the past and he must genuinely believe that if this smokescreen theory is true. He's tried to play these games before and no-one is falling for it. He's played the loyalty card a bit too much and fans aren't willing to take much more and he knows it (gates have dropped significantly and LUST are growing in numbers and credibility. He'll never admit it but he's took us as far as he can without investment and more importantly took from us as much as he can... time to say bye bye Ken!

Agree3 Disagree0

This is madness. Why would Bates employ NW just to want to see the back of him?

Agree3 Disagree1

More tripe. You Bates haters are getting pathetic.

Hi ed, appreciate you cant divulge person information but any idea if original post had english or us url? thanks {Ed013's Note - I can tell you that it was sent from the Bradford area!}

Thanks Ed; Now why would anyone wishing to buy or invest in our sacred club, want to stay in Bradford? {Ed13's Note - I don't think he was saying he wants to, I think he was speaking on the behalf of a rumour. I maybe wrong, oh and it could be a she that wrote it. I must remember to be politically correct!]

i think we should be happy bates is being bought out and finally going, the LUST came out and said it is takeover bid so no more papa smurf, YEP are saying an american firm have tabled their bid after looking round the facilities and from reading that it instantly tells me that they are interested in the club and that must like the club and facilites etc as they wouldnt have tabled a bid so quick. fair play em tbh, i like their enthusiasm and dont really care whether they are worth 20 mill or 20 bil the way they are acting is very encouraging and as we know certain americans fro merseyside do splash the cash so warnocks wishes may come true and we will see a record breaking year for him and the club MOT

How do you know it's not his to sell, do you actually know who owns the ground? If you do then you must be about the only one of us that does.....

Agree4 Disagree0

Well if he does own the ground, and he sells the naming rights, and then suddenly more money comes into the club as a result, I guess that makes it very clear who owns the ground...

Jacob Adler, a scumchester based property developer, owns ER in an SPV - FACT - Land registry

Elland road is owned buy a company based in the Virgin Islands and guess who owns that company. So leeds United don't own it or TA but Papa Smurf does

Eds and fellow Whites,

As promised I would keep you updated on the Walker Morris side of things as and when the information was available. The only thing I can confirm at the minute is that a deal for the purchase of Leeds United is in the final stages. Unfortunately, due to the Confidentiality Agreements in place I am unable to obtain the name of the "Purchaser" but at least we know something shall be concluded shortly.

My personal opinion is the Bates has told Warnock to get off on his jollys and when he gets back everything will be done and dusted and he can fire on all cylinders...I believe this is why not much was said about the Joel Ward scenario, Warnock will have met the "Purchaser" last thursday before he left the country and agreements will have been made. Again, this is my personal opinion on the matter, which i feel is a logical explanation.

I hope this settles a few nerves. MOT!!

Youngie! {Ed013's Note - This seems reasonable}

I hope you are genuine and your sources are good. This i know will be the year for us all,wether or not this happens,our club ,particularly the supporters deserves the break and the move forward.leeds supporters are the best and the most patient,but most pationate.noose58

I am genuine mate, I posted earlier in the week about my connection with Walker Morris...I can't advertise the firm that I work for or the name of my connection at W M but I wasn't exactly 'subtle' in my earlier posts and if you were to look into it you would be able to locate our website etc. MOT!!

Warnock's going nowhere.

Agree3 Disagree1

Original Poster here...

Warnock isn't going anywhere...he is on holiday and will be coming back to light a fire under the @rse of the championship with LUFC and the new "Purchaser"...if Warnock was annoyed we would know...if Bates was annoyed we would know...there is a lot of silence at ER because everyone behind the scenes is rubbing their hands together at their own prospects...NW is going for his 8th promotion and Bates is going back to Monaco an even richer man...and we are going back to the Promised Land!! Can somebody explain a few things about this takeover/investment talk (maybe ed). Leeds have made a statement about the takeover/investment and it was also on sky app but there have been nothing from forest at all. Now that tells me one of two things, either we are all off the scent and it's totally somebody else or we have the guy already and certain people connected with forest have sour grapes and are starting there own rumours? If forest was as confident as most of there fans are surely they would have made a similar statement to us? Like I say I might b looking at this in the wrong way so kindly explain otherwise, kinda hope I'm right tho {Ed013's Note - Forest aren't making up their own rumours, well they probably are in certain aspects, but with regards to the takeover it is looking like they are the front runners for the Kuwait business man. Leeds are looking for investment from an American outfit}

I don't believe the sun paper at all. Warnock to forest and this fawaz guy done deal with forest its all over dramatised rumours. The truth is knowone knows. I still believe when you talk of great history and warnocks name is mentioned I still think its leeds. Bates has sold his shares and a deal looks very close with leeds.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Well i was thinking maybe they was signing warnock and bates would get the money for transfers from the compensation we will receive

I would stay down to earth on all this if I was you. It's great the supporters trust has found investors that have bid for the club.
But I really don't think Bates will sell to anyone with the supporters trust backing. Just out of spite.
The Kuwaiti business man when mentioning Warnock was talking about qpr and their takeover. Can you see Bates selling up to a sheikh. It's not going to happen.
The most probable outcome of all this was mentioned on Twitter by a Norwegian agent, svenleeds, ?, he seemed to think Leeds were in talks with a new stadium sponsor, which wouldn't be that significant financially shorterm. Longterm yes, rainy day money.
Leeds are crying out for a takeover and I pray to god Bates sells up and takes Shaun Harvey with him.
The fact is if Leeds made a 10m profit in the last few years, and if we received 4m in past two seasons for our best players, why isn't this been spent on playing squad?
Let's hope the arrival of don revie overlooking the new stand brings about new turn of luck, a new board, a new chairman, new players and a new optimism around the club.
Marcus

Believable2 Unbelievable1

How can it be stadium sponsorship when we don't own it?

Agree2 Disagree0

I think you underestimate Bates if you think he gives a monkey's about who brought the investors to him. If, and when, he wants to sell, he will.

For all his criticism, he's a businessman first and foremost, and if the price is right, and he feels he's done all he can with the club, he'll move on. He's 80 years old, he'll want to walk away from all this in profit, not at a loss.

Does he strike you as someone who'd cut off his nose to spite his face? he doesn't to me.

Saw an article online today which makes me worry. Bates has apparently told the investors who want to buy the club to double their £40m bid or nothing this can't be good as I can't see anyone paying £80m for an average championship club where lots needs to be spent to get us to a point where we can not only get to the pl but stay there aswell. I think I saw this on Yorkshire post website.
(note to ED13 that girl in qatar hasn't got back with that translation yet but will post again when she does) sm {Ed013's Note - Cheers}

31 May 2012 00:09:11
edd what do you know about the potential takeover then {Ed013's Note - Early days, but has to be positive news if it happens. Like I said before, I think KB has been found out and he knows now is the time to sell before all the assets, including Neil Warnock, have gone. If I am wrong and it is only investment, it is still good news, but will also delay any transfer activity. My main worry is all the profit from player sales and club money will go with Mr Bates so he has done what he intended and took everything from us whilst leaving us with very average, free/loan players}]
