Sheffield United. won one more than anyone in the division, lost three times what we have. Whatever Cherubs, we are top the league, I say we are top the league! Figures too small to be statistically significant, but who cares? If we were in 5th I wouldn't be displeased so why fret too much when we are Kings of the Castle? MOT.

You’re worrying us Georgie. Their form looks patchy, not won away from home in the league yet, lots of scoring draws, so looks like it could be an attractive match. Are they not the type of team that actually might suit our style of play? How will they llook to play it?

Good morning Spanish. Styles make matches and I believe Brentford will be a challenge for us. They play with physicality and pace. Vulnerable to conceding because their defence not first class but their midfield and attack a game for anyone. They use the wings very effectively and I rate Maupay. Difficult afternoon George foresees especially with no doubt a tiring Ayling and a deputizing Pearce. Just my opinion guys.

While we did not blow Hull away last night, the way we played made them look very very ordinary. This is what Adkins is referring to, when he talks about our performance, this the perspective of the opposition manager. The way Biesla sets his team up and the way they play make it very difficult for the opposition to get any momentum, Hull were at home and posed very little threat to us, if any. Ok at 1-0 we may have got caught by a late sucker punch but on the whole we controlled the game.

I can only go on the season so far. As it stands its us Brom and Borough. Pretty sure their fans are expecting them to stay at the top so why should not i. Borough conceded less than us but we have scored a lot more, they are happy to scrape through with 1-0 wins. Brom attack is great but give silly goals away. Leeds defence is admirable and attack is great, just need to convert the chances as we all know. We have influential players out who are due to come back and two signings who have not played yet and will hopefully be ready for the winter months. Sure the other two will have players out injured or suspended over the course of the season. Good thing is we are still up there despite injuries, will they be. Optimistic of course i am i believe. Realistic yes, i know things can go wrong, history shows us this, but no way am i going to expect it or predict it. Onwards and upwards.

I have been waiting a long time for us to get back on track. Recently we have been inconsistent during games frustratingly bad at times whist playing excellent football at others. We weren't great last night by any means and it was another long range effort that got us the points. I hope Roberts is going to be another Wood but better. He on a par with him at the moment - does nothing during the game and just when you think he should be pulled off he scores. That's Wood all over. As for the spirit? In previous seasons we would have lost both the Wednesday game and at Hull. That is one of the differences Bielsa has made. I keep thinking 'here we go again' and, apart from the Birmingham game (which was almost about the two goalkeepers) , we don't. Top of the league at the international break with players coming back. That would be a huge step forward.

Whilst as a Leeds fan I instinctively share caution with many of you on here, Adkins said that we are the best Championship team he has seen in years. That presumably includes Wolves last season etc and Adkins is no novice. Further, regardless of all of our frailties, we are top of the league with a points ratio, which would if maintained all season put us on over 90 points at the finish. This is unlikely, but WBA etc are losing more games than us and are thus not invincible. Fret not, roll with it. We deserve to enjoy this quality of football. Christ, we have waited long enough. I've got a feeling Roberts is going to be a superstar. When Roofe is back I'd like to see him on the right Roberts in the middle with Harrison on the left as Alioski needs dropping. How he wasn't subbed yesterday. I think he maybe Bielsas love child! 😂
On another point it's nice to see Alex Mowatt doing well at Barnsley. Looks like he's well on his way to becoming their player of the season.

Was just coming on to ask if anybody thought roofe would find it coming back in the team but to be honest, I could see alioski being the man to be dropped and Roberts being stuck out wide. Really is starting to look a good piece of business. 5 goals including pre season so far, effectively won us 6 points so far as his goals killed off preston and won it for us last night. think roofe will have a task, anyone feeling worried for bamford?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2018 10:47:11
too right Spanish, I have been slating KP for his fitness and weight no way I am letting him see my fitness in the sack and pass comment on my weight!

Aloiski was poor yesterday but did create our only chance in the first half, I am not sure yesterday Harrison was any better. That said even I thouhgt aloiski was poor and would of pulled him for clarke as really want to see him get some first team minutes. I think when pablo and roofe are back harrision and aliskio will both be roated more.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2018 11:59:23
Like it Spanish. Would like to see Clarke get half a game instead of Alioski. Not one for playing people out of position, so for me Roofe should come back in his old role depending on how many Roberts scores, 3 in 5 ain't bad but his overall game is lacking a bit but can only improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2018 12:17:53
yeah i'm not letting KP see me naked I have been calling him slow and podgy all season, not letting him rip into me for being worse!

03 Oct 2018 12:55:16
When Roofe is back play him up front with the TyRo. Replace Alioski with Hernadez when fit too, keep playing Harrison, the more I see of him the more settled he seems in the team. Think he was a bit ring rusty the first few times we saw him.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2018 13:06:15
you know what I am not great in the tackle deparment but hinestly think i am better in the tackle than KP maybe quicker over 100 yards as well. but think he might be slightly more tonned than i am only slightly mind!

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2018 19:17:13
Yes, I would like to see Roberts and Roofe attacking but I think MB much prefers the one up front. Certainly think there is room for both and somehow fit Pablo back in the frame. I also think that Harrison is shaping up into what Alioski should have been. A tricky customer who is not afraid to take people on, and go past them. He just needs to learn when to get rid. Sometimes he just wants to take on one man too many but he is young and will learn.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2018 07:53:25
Good teams know how to do enough . A couple of years ago we would have lost that game, how many away Tuesday night games did we go without a win. Would sooner win 1 - nil with a minimum of effort than to knacker ourselves out with a steamrollering, you still only get 3 points.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

03 Oct 2018 08:41:37
I agree, the main thing in our favour is with 4 key players out we continue to make lots of chances. I would worry if that goal last night was our only effort. When we are back to full strength we will convert more of the chances we are creating. At the other end we are keeping regular clean sheets, let's be optimistic. I really think one game it will all click and someone will get spanked. Agree that we are not a shoe in for promotion and it is a long season, boro and brom will be thereabouts but I believe we will too, play offs at least, automatic would be nice but a tough ask. Think if we keep Bielsa and miss out this season we will be nailed on for the next.

Good to win although reviews were a bit damning.
I got to agree with Bermo. I think Bielsa has done well and I do admire his ability to get the most out of the players.
But there are a few worrying signs here.
Performances have slumped. Energy levels are beginning to cause gaps in the team formation. Last night subs were used for a change but Bielsa has a persistent to stick by the same players which will result in fatigue and more injuries. We have been playing below par for 4 weeks now and no sign of improvement. It was, I believe his decision not to add more players to the squad, which was at the time a bit naieve and is proving the case. I think the defence are playing well. And kp mostly and Klich but I don't think the rest are consistent enough to play week in week out. It's a heavy weight to put on Roofe and hern to come in and miraculously change our form. Let's hope the injured loanee comes good soon and makes a diff.
I'm onviously happy with position and this league seems a lot easier than I expected but at the moment we are living on borrowed time and our performances and finishing needs improving quickly.

Aus, we’ve played 5 championship games in just over 2 weeks, with the same team, lost once, drawn against joint leaders, drawn a game in which we had 25 chances and the other team scored a wonder goal, beat Preston 3-0 and won a game in a stadium where we hadn’t won for 10 years . We had a dreadful 30 mins against Birmingham and couldn’t pull it back. Don’t think that’s a slump in performance.

The 4 missing players mean we are missing some creativity and the flexibility of being able to change it up a bit. But, Roberts wouldn’t have had a chance and Harrison wouldn’t have had as much game time, both of which has improved the squad. Jack Clarke is training and travelling with the first team and getting bench time, a good thing.

I don’t think the league is easy, look at the points spread in the table, it’s very tight with some good teams in there and every game is going to be tough. Middlesbrough drew at Hull, Preston got a 3-3 draw at Villa, Birmingham got a draw at Brentford.

Bielsa is building a team with spirit and part of that is trusting and showing confidence in the players. Last nights win was really important, showed we could get a tough one nil, but also massively important for Roberts. Not only does he work hard, get in good positions, but he can get a goal like that.

I don’t think his plan is naive and I certainly don’t think you can say it’s been proved to be naive yet. let's get to the international break and regroup a bit and see what the team and bench look like after that.

Of course we are doing well, but recent fixtures have been very kind and our performances and points tally against them worrys me

I think we are good, and I am pleased but to be honest i don't think we will go up.

i was watching the debate and both 'experts' on there said the same we might struggle and favor borough and brom to go up, i sadly agree with this over course of season,

i just hope we make playoffs as that keeps the season alivie and i don't care what devision we are in just don't want us to fade like last year.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Oct 2018 08:07:06
People favour boro and brom because they don't play nice football and have more prem quality than us. I think bielsa came here to win the league, the only other manager in the league with that sort of attitude for me is pulis. 22 points from 11 games is phenomenal, why are we complaining? roofe and Hernandez will fix any errors people are discussing, we will keep brentford out as jansson and cooper are playing exceptionally, i'm not worried I agree with Spanish. some fans on here only seem to be happy when its 100% win ratio, we won last night, i'm not bothered about a few off performances personally as they are not our most crucial players, you can expect an attacking quartet of Hernandez, saiz, brown, roofe as the eason goes on, 1 of these 4 is currently starting games, and will improve when the quality around him improves. you've then still god bamford, Roberts, Clarke, edmondson, dallas, alioski, Harrison, baker, who could all play there, what's the worry boys, keep positive.

03 Oct 2018 08:11:37
I agree berm. I get you too Spanish but history teaches me to air on the side of caution rather than optimism.
I have seen enough to say on our day we can play a bit but so can most sides on their day. I have also seen enough to say most of the time we can be pretty average.
The Defense is good which is the biggest factor. And as you say Spanish lots of inconsistent other results.
I don’t think the rest of the team have really the fitness, football brain or skill to consistently deliver what Bielsa wants. We are about 2/ 3 quality players short. But we all know that.

not sure people fancie brom and borough because they don't play nice football. wolves play nice football and everyone fancied them. I think people favour us and rate us more becuase of the style of football we play and rightly so.

I don't expect a 100% win ratio and games like sheff wed i can write off. I think we have improved but seen us a lot this season and sorry i don't fancy us to go autmoaticly. Seen some great performances but derby and stoke were false performances due to when we played them, milwall, brum where both awful performances, sheff and hull were decent but not promotion performances in my opinion.

I am positive we are better and happy with playoffs I just think some on here are far too confident and positive, that said good for them, great to be positive and happy rather than me sitting here thinking 'ohh we will be lucky to finish 5th and I think i am going bald'

Look how teams step up against us

Nothing is won in October

Any championship team can beat anyone

We’re doing ok so far and that’s all you can say. Champions grind out results but let’s sew how we’ve done come May

There will be defeats, even “ slumps”. Those games tell you everything about the team. It’s always how you react to a loss that matters.

Don’t get me wrong, I love what’s going on at the club and think we are going in the right direction but still far too soon to say what’s going to happen to anyone!

Let’s get through to New year, still in touch with the top two, then it’s all up for grabs.

Out of West Brom, Middlesbrough, we are clearly the underdog in terms of spend, so you’d expect them to do better than us really. But I don’t think either of them are like a Wolves yet. Still all to play for! Already bought two new players for the new year, Bamford and Brown!

Dread to think what the postings on here would be saying if we weren’t top of the league. There is no team in this division that is likely to walk it. Week on week there will be unlikely or unexpected results from all the teams in this division. That is what makes it so exciting for neutrals and painful for supporters.

Do not forget we have 22 from 11 and that rate of return puts a team in with a chance of automatic promotion. And definitely a play off spot.
