Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

04 Apr 2015 23:40:48
Plenty to blame for todays performance. The board for destabilising the team through removing an important member of the management team. The Ref for a poor sending off. The players for letting their heads go down after the sending off. Redfearn, although the formation change to go 3 at the back was the right way to go (albeit a tad late), I don't get why he brought on Cooper for Berardi who was playing well. Also missed a trick not playing Antennuci from start as he would have been highly motivated to score and stick two fingers up to the establishment

You are so right Notts. They can't make up their mind about Antenucci. All the current goings on indicate the red bull takeover is real and they are making some board requests. There's also more than I've reported about the Thommo story. It's ugly. I will no doubt alienate myself on this site if I refuse to elaborate but the new info is "private message" worthy not for public consumption. For betterment of our club. This site doesn't have a PM facility though.

I have no doubt you are correct as to why Thompson was removed but I still believe the underlying reason is to put Redfearn under the spotlight in order to remove him for a new regimes choice. I heard a rumour that the Genting offer had been agreed in principle with due diligence completed however Red bull have improved the offer and now it is a bidding war.

GEORGE! Just say it! don't talk in riddles like every board we have had at ER in god knows how long! Were all grown ups on here! i'm sure we can take this "private message" your going on about! Why dangle the carrot then say nowt!?

And m, I am not cuddly ken. I am a die-hard fan that's all. I want my team in premier league competing for all silverware. All I can say is the leeds board have been placed in a catch 22 situation and have decided to get creative which includes a form of partial self-destruction for the longer term interest of our club. This is why Childs walked. It's why Thommo is no more. Sorry but won't say more than that. However, the net result early summer should be this. Cellino replaces GFH with 25 per cent holding. Red Bull new majority owner.

Btw Notts you are right with your conspiracy theory but there's more to it! All I will say.

Scoopy, so with tax irregularity cases piling up with the potential for the FL to keep imposing bans, he wouldn't take a back seat for good of club while retaining some influence to massage his ego? Oh ok.

No George, IMO he is too much of a control freak, he is an all or nothing man!

If Redfern wanted to make a statement today he should have put two fingers up to the management and played his leading goal scorer (Antenucci) from the start. He as obviously been shit on from a great height by the powers that be, losing his right hand man and being told who he can and can't play. He his in a strong position at the moment they cannot afford to get rid of him as they have nobody to replace him with. The stark truth about all this that they will dispense with him at the end of the season and leave a clean slate for the new owners to take over who that will be we will have to wait and see but rumours are suggesting Genting Group or Red Bull take your pick.

Maybe Redders is with the program having been promised that he stays as assistant manager or back to the acadamey on a pay rise. New owners would be wise to want to keep him as he is the key man with all the young players coming through. Otherwise he would surely walk under such provocation.

Merv I hope Redfearn is not with the program as he would be extremely two faced given all the soundbites he has realised regarding considering his position

Not a great build up to the game to say the least! We were the best side up to the sending off! But this type of 3 goal defeat has been waiting to happen, over the last month or so! Out luck ran out!

That was coming, Morrison, Austin why. Two midfielders on bench both academy why. Three strikers on bench, were we going to play them all with Morrison. No Adryan or Montenegro. No real game plan same old same old. We can't play every team the same way.

You're spot on Neil mistakes did cost us (OS), yours in taking Berardi off when he was having his best game in a white shirt this season and bringing on Cooper who looked like he'd never seen a ball before!

If ever there was a club capable of imploding single handedly then that club is Leeds United. I simply can't believe the last few days.

Just got back home after watching a truelly terrible game. To me it was all flat, surprisingly no atmosphere, although South Stand tried. Looked good during the minutes silence, big respect for that.
Match seemed like a practice match, we were the better team until Rudi got harshly sent off. After that, I was waiting for them to score, then Bullusci had another mad moment. It just went tits up after the first.
Normally a defeat spoils my weekend, after a return to the circus that is Leeds United, this time I'm just not bothered, and that bothers me.
Going out to get lashed. Sooner this season is over the better.MOT

{Ed013's Note - I thought Leeds played well until the bizarre red card, just no cutting edge up front}

Morison over Antenucci
Dawson over Sloth

Salerno, ya sacked the wrong man.

Both worked well together and how do you know NR is picking the team sack someone and it affects the team sometimes in good way some times bad like right now . but has anyone pick up why they sacked Steve is mc saving money before a takeover it was out off the blue and Leeds have done so well only reason that makes sense unless they have had a fall out but would of known about it

U start with a non striking striker and go down to 10 men
U got nowhere to go
Shame on you Austin. Reddders and Morison.

Now we are safe, the planning has started for next season - hence the Antenucci story. Trouble for us is we don't know who will be in charge of the team or the club so what the plans are. I fear a dreadful run in to the end of the season and another summer of torment

Back to bashing team selection. I don't care that the men in charge are denying it but
Aren't the two last strikers to score for Leeds on the bench for a prolific non striker
Do they want us to fail?
Anyway. Got a feeling Mori will net his 2015 goal today!

Well I haven't posted this week because quite frankly I wouldn't have known where to start, or end!
But all I WILL say is if the Red Bull takeover rumours are true - and it happens, I can't see them letting us linger in the championship for long!
What we might well have to be prepared for, and will be a hard pill to swallow, is a change of name - the word 'red' is not one I like to use in the same sentence as my beloved Leeds.
Good luck to Redders and the lads today (assuming he's still the coach by kick off time)

If this Red Bull possible takeover is to be believed, reports say there are a couple of sticking points. One of these is probably wether they would be allowed to call the club Red Bull Leeds. I would assume the Football League and Premier League wouldn't allow it as (correct me if I'm wrong) there are no other clubs using company names.
I think this story has been put out by Cellino to keep us in the news as he doesn't like it when the fans sing 'we're not famous any more' and that this story could be a load of Red Bullsh%t! :)

04 Apr 2015 08:50:01
So Thompson has gone, will it make a difference? If as reported he was taking credit for our recent form then I do not think he is the type of guy for Leeds. He happened to join when our luck changed, and a lot of our wins have been lucky. If he's had a bust up with Salerno he should know better. If you started a new job and two months in told your manager he was crap and knew nothing I think you would expect the sack. The thing with Ant is nonsense, you sign a striker to score goals, if he had got 25 and we were in the playoffs I don't think anyone would be bothered if we kept him for another 12 months. Morrison was picked because Redfearn wanted him in the team which is the one thing that will count against him at the end of the season. Whether Cellino knew or not is irrelevant. Without Cellino we would be looking at League one next season. We would not be arguing about who plays as there would not be many choices. The fact is he has saved this club and if he continues next season and invests to get us to the Premiership I am with him all the way. If he decides to sell, and I would not blame him, then we are safe in the knowledge we won't go cheap so whoever bought us would do so with the intention of Premier league football. We have everything to thank this guy for. He has had the club a year and transformed it, financially and staff. Its still a work in progress and if he decides Redfearn is not learning quick enough and should take a back seat next season so be it. mot

Cellino is a power hungry clown with a few quid to splash about. He is not a long term solution and LUFC will be in and out of trouble for as long as he is on the premises.

I'm taking the whole Red Bull thing with a pinch of salt (to quote Fox News "Leeds fans aren't allowed nice things"). But IF they do buy the club I fully expect loads of dim wit comments & protests about having Red in the name, on the shirt, on the stadium etc. They should be very happy that the club will finally be owned by people who now how to run sports clubs, treat people with respect, observe the law, have the cash to splash and will be in it for the long haul.

I agree for most part with your post BIGE but it is clear while Thommo needed to bite his tongue more, Salerno needs to be more appreciative . For some bizarre reason, our club has a history of cutting nose to spite face. Thommo was doing an excellent job and there are other options available to an employer to make the situation better, not just to terminate. I hope our form doesn't suffer but think that is most likely outcome.
