Lets not get carried away after one game. However great result against in my opinion the 2nd best side last year (even though they didn't come second). Absolutley amazed by the attendance. 13,000 extra fans! We have got a serious chance with crowds like that along with the new feelgood factor. But most of all we need a decent centre back. Lees good player but others ok a best. Just hope it doesn't take too long! MOT

Not bothered why people stayed away I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks for coming back, I think BMD is right the crowd got the team over the line. please please please let's make ER full every home game, and you just never know what might happen.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thats the one thing we have over loads of the other sides in the league, a stadium that can house in excess of 36k.

Elland Road is a fortress when packed out and if we can create the same atmosphere every home game we would intimidate teams massively.

The financial rewards are obvious and substantial but the atmosphere that can be created would be priceless.

Hi folks what's happened to eland road I've not been down since development, was watching highlights from the game and the stadium looked full is that all we can fit in 33k?. also the main stand with those nasty boxes and tiny top tier looks terrible :s

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No, there was loads ov empty seats below tha away fans! Perhaps GFH need to revisit where tha away fans sit! because if they ain't allowed to sit home fans below them what's tha point having um sit up there?

Agree0 Disagree0

What is the capacity these days, web searches say 37k or 39k. If we can maximise that, it would be awesome

DS

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe capacity is approx. 37, 900.

General tickets were sold out apart from away end. There were some gaps in the hospitality areas in West and East Upper stands.

Agree0 Disagree0

Capacity is 39460

Agree0 Disagree0

As stated on here the capacity is 39, 460, I always thought what's wrong with giving the away fans the south/west corner but considering Brighton only brought just over 1000 I think the corner holds 1800 so no matter where you put them there is only a few clubs that will fill it.

Unfortunately I couldn't be at the match yesterday, but according to a certain website, Lees was playing LB, Warnock and Green at CB, and Jason Pearce was playing at RM! This can't be right can it?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It said that on tv I was at the game and we played the dimand without wingers pearce was not rm ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like warnock saw the list and assumed positions for sly spots

Agree0 Disagree0

Yup thts where they all played and kenny was our main threat up front ;)

we must get 2 or 3 defensive players we need 2 centre backs and maybe a versatile player, 1 centre mid and 2 wide players one for each side, also maybe 1 attacker

5-6 players then we can seriously talk about promotion

players could be mills, gorkss, stewart, mackay-steven, delph, becchio (loan)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have 2 good center mids in green and murphy

And we can have backup with Norris and I guess brown

What we need is at least 1 cb
A utility defender
A winger (2 if possible)
A 20 goal a season poacher

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very rare do we get good reports, though the bun did call us impressive

first of all great result leads unbelievable feeling even today! but just want to say shame on those who at the end of last season saying get rid of kenny well he was the stand out player in a lot of eyes yesterday he keeps up them sort of performances and we could be fighting to keep hold for gods sake! lol
p. s murphy must of thought he was in dream land "when he scored the winner" god bless the lad let's hope there more days at elland road like this for him!
im definitely gone travel over for a couple of games dis season if yesterdays atmosphere is anything to go by just like to thank all the people that travelled to the game keep the good work!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we average 10,000 more for our home games this season than last then; 10,000 x £30 (average for ticket + spend at ER) x 19 league games = almost £6m over the season!
I know that won't even buy Bales little toe but it'll buy some class championship players next summer or even in January if we can get rid of some dead wood.
Maybe open the upper tier if the crowds do seriously come back?
What a difference NO Master Bates makes
In GFH & McD I trust.

"maybe open the upper tier"?
Presumably you didn't attend last season nor yesterday then, or is there a tier above the East Stand roof I can't see from the Kop?

Went to the match with my son yesterday, 430 mile round trip and well worth it. Atmosphere was great with such a big crowd. Good performances by Kenny, Peltier, MCCORMACK and Green. Left it late but made the drive home so much better. My 10 year old son can't stop talking about it. Hopefully the rest of the season will have just as much enthusiasm and great feeling. Well done lads

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I went too but I thought Peltier was poor on the whole, not too bad defensively but going forward he was awful, I can't remember one cross that found one of our players, woeful really. Plus I can't recall him trying once to get to the byline. On a plus note I was really impressed with the fact that Murphy was still making runs into the box for a half chance in the 93rd minute. A half chance that he made into a winner.

Ross looked pretty good, He must have known wee Gordon was there to watch him no doubt. (I asked him if he had brought his boots after the first half, he relied "They are in a museum" I told him I reckoned he could still do a job for us tbh

All in all a good result, a better 2nd half that the first.

I see its been mentioned already but strange how matt mills was left out of boltons squad yesterday, after apparently a good pre season according to DF.

also - great day yesterday, I travelled up from Nottingham and sat in the kop and the atmosphere was brilliant at times, nice to hear BMD get the crowds backing and a pleasant goodbye song to master bates! Green would of been MOM for me, think he was superb and to say his opposite number Liam bridcutt is one of the, if not the best dcm in the league - green out shone him.

Lets not get on the CBs case too much as Barnes and ulloa are good players on their day and will cause damage this year, having said that a nice nee CB would be welcome as we only have 2 and pelts who can cover their! Nice to ser the owners greet the fans too - first time in a decade.

MOT!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I want to say green was the outstanding player yesterday, he ran his legs off and fought for every ball, god bless him it's what we have needed for ages

On the 'new look' Leeds United website, Sam Byram is in the midfielder section and not the defence one. Does this mean on his return from injury he will be playing in a more advanced role?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Quality performance yesterday! Murphy and Kenny was different class! And we still have diouf ruddy and byram to come back. think we are still a centre back and a winger tho! IN MCDERMOTT WE TRUST!

Well done lads. If I subscribe to lutv can I get commentary on every match. Nothing works except matchday text in australia?
Was the football a good standard today?
Did brighton look as good as last year?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes I thought they played some good football. but we broke them up better than last year green was outstanding

Leeds need to offload some 'dead wood' before they sign anyone else players like Brown, Norris and Pugh will hopefully be sold which would allow us to sign Mills and Mackay-Stevens. Sam Byram and El Hadji Diouf could both be on the way out and up to the Premier League but hopefully we can hold on to them. MOT!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No one in the prem would want diouf, he's a good match for qpr where they already have barton, karl henry. could be a team of hotheads

Thought it was a great move from GFH walking across the pitch and walking through the fans to their seats! Can any one imagine bates doing that?! Lol

He's out ov our club, he's out ov our clu'ubb!
You Chelsea b*****d he's out ov our club!

P. S green Man ov tha match!

just a few players to go for if we get redbull investment lm sako still wolves player playng in league 1 steve di ridder released by Southampton both quick wingers and also a cb

Believable0 Unbelievable0

De Ridder isn't a great player & Sako would cost far too much, to be honest I think our best bets would be trying to tempt Birmingham with a £750k bid for Burke and asking Villa if we can take Albrighton on loan.
