Having watched some of the Spanish second tier games I am not too sure the benefit Ideguchi will receive at Leonesa. Sure, he will keep fit but as a grounding for English football he would be better served in a local Sunday League team. He would soon learn pass or get hit. Bad pass and get hit by teammate. A few weeks playing for the Dog and Gun would harden him up and he would have all summer for the bruising to go down.

Not living over there I am not sure how it works but wouldn't the same rules that prevent him from living there and playing for Leeds prevent him from living there and playing for anyone else?

kiwi, rules don't apply at the Dog and Gun Anyway he would be A. N. Other and be paid in beer.

Some reports stating Leeds will have no probs getting a work permit. we shall see

Japan ranked just outside the world top 50, unless they get panned every game at the world cup they should easily move into it. As long as he plays most of those and friendlies during their prep matches he should hit criteria for a permit by the end of the tournament i think Alf.

Welcome to Leeds Mr Miyagi. Loving the tash. Already a Leeds legend. Danielson (MM)

Left back must be a priority to give RB a choice of Berardi/Ayling. If not I can see Berardi as a Gattuso type patrolling in front of the back four.

Viera sits in front of the back four already

It’s no good sitting there. He needs to get up and move around the pitch.

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Jan 2018 18:36:05
That's his role in the team. I am sure he would 'get up and move around' as you put it, if he was asked to, what we need is a centre midfield player who can 'get up the pitch and move around'. and score some goals, to compliment viera. o'kane never looks like doing this, and for me kp did get fwd quite a bit the first half dozen games but he too seems to have dropped deeper and deeper.

A defensive midfielder does not need to get forward as there are 5 other players that can and are allowed to do so by someone covering the defence

Berahdi too good to play second fiddle to ayling. i'd rather him at right back than on the bench or lose him.

Left back. Now i'm confused. I know what i mean. I think.

Picture this, christiansen becomes a hero by persuading bartley to sign, cooper steps up and says he'll play left back (as he's played there for a lot of his youth, is fairly moible, and actually left footed) and we create the strongest defence in the league, ideguchi comes in alongside vieira, saiz at number 10, a striker signs like prijovic or kuwas and gets 8/10 goals before may, leeds go up, keep all our best players, sign a new winger and wilks breaks through, let go of a few of the dead wood like sacko, klich, cibicki. shaugnessy becomes a unit at the back and we sign a solid goalkeeper like adrian from west ham. i'd say all that is required for this is 20 million? a multimillionaire who has bought us came in over the summer and just so happened to spend 17m on our church, do you really think he'd skint himself on a stadium and not sign great players who can play there? all i'm saying is wait on until the 31st before you start writing us off. He knows we've got a solid february, and christiansen will probably telling him that orta needs more money to sign bigger names, so he'll probably just dip into bank account number 2 for another 20 million, and when we win the play offs in extra time against villa we'll be laughing at the 100million he's just got back. simple right?

Samo, I like it. Have you been in Wetherspoon's for their January sales with the Mad one?

the way you put it Samo it sounds simple enough. You had me all the way to solid goalkeeper, Adrian but I applaud your sentiment; which is, we are nearly there.

Financial fair play rules mean we won't be spending that sort of cash unless we're raiding burnley's piggy bank again

In fairness, adrian may have been a long shot, interesting to see how well udders have done with their recruitment this year, that lossl looks a steal, malone, ince, mounie, and jorgensen have all been good signings, now they've signed a defender from monaco. makes you wonder doesn't it how much internationals would love to play in the premier league, says a lot about the league and the desire to get into it. In their defence it opens your eyes to why wood, cook, taylor, howson, beckford all wanted it so bad. Hoping we sign some intelligent players that see the potential in leeds and want to be a part of it. so many teams now are proving that they can compete with the big boys, and i have serious respect for the bournemouths and burnleys up there who still play their own style with the same manager and good recruitment week in week out, let's hope for something similar, but with a bit of our spanish flair thrown in the mix. i'm positive about the team. This time last year everybody said we could go up, and in fairness to the snake, we had every chance. However there wasnt as much of an eye for gems and the only real icons that he signed were jansson and bartley, and even then bartley didn't like it enough to force his way back. But now we have new ownership, scouts, media representatives, coaching staff, and a far better PR team doing all of the social media work and putting leeds back on the map. So again this year may not be our year, but my previous post suggests that we have again, every chance, in what i think is a far better position than 12 months ago to go and do the same. If you believed monk could do it, you should be believing a hell of a lot more that christiansen will. I think he will, skin of our teeth stuff, but either way, what a season were having considering such changes.

Problem is with financial fair play is not all of that wood and Taylor money went straight in our account Would be paid over instalments So although we may think we have money to spend now, in actual fact we haven't Plus it includes wages and I suspect a few of these new lads and longer contracts handed out will eat into that income Seem to remember rads saying he'd spent £100m so far ( including the ground, which is outside any ffp ) Let's hope we have better accountants now

this ideguchi looks the real deal, suppose alioski did in switzerland though. If he can make the step up and grow with the club after a good world cup ill be so excited to see him play next season. him vieira and phillipsis a quality midfield trio imo and has got a very combative feel to it. 2 big strikers up top please mr radz and a few more goals, we could be on our way to a big second half of the year.

good post but i ain't sold on phillips got great technique is great but not sure he is mobile enough or imposes himself on game, for us to go up i think we may need better than phillps

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Jan 2018 10:15:17
Philips has a really good game then his a bit flat the next, I suppose it's his age but at least he tackles and breaks up play . Lassie was a bit more mobile against Forest but we need someone who pesters defenders more. And are goal kicks are still being gathered mainly by the opposition.

Alioski, to me, has potential. He either likes diving when tackled, to get a freekick, or is sadly lacking in the strength department. If he stays on his feet and is threatened with red hot poker to take people on then I think we have a gem.

04 Jan 2018 18:47:25
Phillips is young and still growing into his game. He tackles with intent and runs all day. The more he plays the better he'll get

Gotta say. don't really know why left back is getting so much attention. If ayling out he can cover at right but there are more pressing positions needing attention. Left back would be about 5th on my list. Obviously i'm a berahdi fan but really don't see that he let's us down more than wield, kane, phillips, alioski, lassoga etc etc.

striker is far more important and berardi goes unnoticed unless he plays exceptionally well or poor, agreed aus

04 Jan 2018 09:33:03
Leeds will not go up with Beradi at left back, they need a better left back than beradi. as said by Beradi even he admitted he is not good enough at left back, we need striker more but think left back is more important than keeper imo.

04 Jan 2018 10:00:49
Disagree mw. Agree he said that and we need a taylor replacement. Wield replacement. Mdfielder and striker all more important. In fact. Saiz. Ayling. Pontus. Viera. And berahdi would be my first names on the sheet every week.

just quoting what the commentator said last game. I think he has improved but if I was manager I would of seen a left back no1 prority. Merdith from Bradford went to millwall for free and they all rave about how great he is, not getting him for free was such a big mistake. As I may of said before (can't remember maybe I didn't) he not even close to being our best right back why on earth would be then be the answer playing out of position?

Berardi should be chasing Ayling for the RB slot. How about a longer trial of Dallas at LB?

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jan 2018 17:27:02
I think that is what I would do Leodis have a crack with Dallas at LB he has all the attributes and plays as wing back at international level (and plays well there)
