Talk of a new winger but this could be a good test of Monks' motivational skills. Maybe it was only me, but I did see potential in Jordan Botaka, but I think what's lacking is his self belief. With an arm round the shoulder and a few kindly words we may just save ourselves a few million pounds.

hey wex our bed is always open for one more. well as long as they ain't miserable have to have fun and be smiley in our bed. no manager has eversaid mc gets involved with team selection this is just more anti leeds poision often spouted by leeds fans. as for player pushcasing very few manager have 100% say and they gave not for years on continent and they often do better than english teams so maybe way forward?

I wish we'd have given Monk the job with 5 or 6 games to go at the end of last season, then he could have got a feel for what new players he would need to make improvements.
Surely he can't get any new recruits until the players come back for pre season. By then there may only be the dregs left!
Unless MC is going to decide which players we need.

Think the Monk will be quickly up to speed with the squad and its shortcomings . Also think planning for next season while not public knowledge has been in place for some time .
The season ticket refund is designed to create enough funds for the transfer market and to let the fans know that MC means business and is putting his money where his mouth is .
The big outstanding question now is recruitment and the quality of the players brought in. If we have some good quality players coming in I believe we will be up there
Monk must of had some proper assurances around recruitment before he committed .
If he does invest properly think MC should be cut some slack
As although we have had to wait a while it will show he has (his own and) the clubs best interest at heart.

totally agree PA, I said similar a while ago. I've generally been pro mc and will obviously support the monk, but imo he showed a distict lack of class to Steve and he's in the last chance saloon so I will judge Massimo on the players we bring in and if he let's me down then sad to say i'm finished with him. here's hoping. Leeds forever regardless.

Monk has no direct first hand knowledge of how Leeds players perform, until he gets them back for preseason so is totally in the hands of incumbent trainers (and Massimo) . If he leaves it util he gains first hand knowledge, it will be too late to negotiate and assimilate so a lot of trust and hope in the backroom staff.
Not an ideal situation but hey ho, let's go.
