Only one side to worry about really. Fulham. Big big big game next week. If they beat us and win their game in hand only two points behind us! Big big massive game midweek.

Even if Fulham win, they've got Newcastle on Saturday so it wouldn't dent us too much.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 21:49:04
not worried can not see us out of everyone falling out of playoffs. Although I do fear for us on Tuesday as I am going to be there and haven't seen us win since 2002

05 Mar 2017 08:36:28
I agree, it's a big game. Lots of speculation on whether the result matters but I think every point counts, Fulham are in form and we really need to do a job on them. Losing 3 points is not an option imo. The psychological battle in the build up to this game and for the rest of the season is as important as the results. We can do it we just need to keep the faith. MOT. positivity reigns.

05 Mar 2017 12:55:32
Such a big game. Mustn't lose so I am thinking no lineup changes with Dallas and Doukara in again for their defensive qualities 0-0, 1-0 will suffice.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2017 13:33:33
Big game, if we want to challenge for 2nd spot every games a must win. If we can get within 4 points of Brighton before they come to ER will be a big advantage mentally for us. If we are happy to settle for 5th or 6th then not that important. Fulham will be up for it we know we can frustrate them. Head says we will do well to get draw. Heart says hammer them.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2017 16:11:41
BW, can we meet in a pub near Fulham's ground. I don't want to go with you but want your tickets. Seriously though if we don't win you've got to promise us all that you will never watch LUFC live ever again! πŸ˜‰

05 Mar 2017 20:19:41
sorry all, please blame DJ met him through this site and then he come to see the play where i met him and his lovely wife and he kindly got tickets so i can finally watch a london game and not sit with the home fans which i have never done in 27 years of being a fan as always stuck with home fans who sadly are noramlley millwall.

so on one side shows how good this site in in connecting leeds fans and giving me as a londoner a chance to be with fellow leeds fans on the other hand i am so so so sorry as i am a massive bock, but that said Dj has a good luck charm and my 2nd daughetr is lucky so we might be ok and hopefully the tide has turned as i never saw us lose from 89-2002 so was lucky for long time. obviously if we lose i will retire as a leeds fan and never see us live again

How boring would it be to gain top two. No, let's do it the Leeds way. Last game of the season. Narrow one-nil win. Drawing the playoff final and scrape through on penalties. Surely anything less would be too easy.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2017 21:50:16
the leeds way? are you aware of our playoff history. I am pretty sure we have the worst playoof record in england been involved in many and never won one, the very first play off in england went against us. think it is a gypsy curse

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2017 10:22:46
Let's face it. If we get to the playoffs and get hammered (which is unlikely) it's still been a great season. If you'd offered me 10th at the start of the season, I'd have said yes please. Of course automatic would be fantastic, but that's going to take a miracle

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Mar 2017 20:21:06
agree again speedy for a change any playoff result will be hard to take but still a massive over-achievement for us and hopefully a good point to build from, what i worry about as a natural worrier is us getting cherry picked.

Think there could also be a few πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™πŸ™moments to before the champagne! But isn't that why we love the game?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 17:31:10
Guys I was just passing comment that we can't keep relying on others missing our goal! Also wex, we do rely on wood for goals. take away his 22 league goals this season and we really haven't scored that many from other players. bet Pontus would be close to top scorer, hasn't he got about 3?
If wood is injured he haven't got a massive goal threat.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

04 Mar 2017 18:18:11
My point is cura that all teams rely on in form players and it is often one or two players that have major influence on teams and who knows wether or not we can perform without wood often another player steps up

Agree2 Disagree2

04 Mar 2017 18:36:38
Look at Southampton when they went up Lambert just kept scoring.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 18:38:33
I agree wex they do, without doubt. but if wood doesn't play and our the charm runs out on our goal we coulducome unstuck. need to tighten the midfield I think. a bit priority in the summer must be an experienced and ball winning player who the young players can learn from. Someone mentioned carrick. i think he would be ideal.

Agree0 Disagree2

04 Mar 2017 18:46:30
Curahee. There will be massive changes in the summer whether or not we go up. Let's take one worry at a time

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 18:48:01
Cura tightening midfield this is the sort of negativity I'm talking about we are concede very little and you will say this is down to a our back two but it is not its a team effort and our defensive midfielders have a lot to do with. Our midfield over 30 games has been tight enough. Try looking at our league position positively

Agree2 Disagree1

04 Mar 2017 19:00:40
Wex it it is also down to an awful lot of luck! Just watched last nights highlights again. they could have easily had five! My concern isn't next season. i am concerned about the next 12 games. the most important 12 games in 15 years. It isn't negatively, its realism based on observation. we've done great and I'm so happy, but think you could be wearing rose tinted glasses.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Mar 2017 19:06:43
We've been unlucky a good few games this season as well. I think lots will agree we have had enough bad luck in the last few years. I suppose we have been lucky all season. Last night we were away from home against a team with loads to play for. What did you expect.

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 19:26:58
I expected exactly what they did, went for it. another season we'd have got mauled! but let's just savour the moment and hope the luck continues. isn't that what gets 90% of the teams through the playoffs? It's more often than not not the team who push the top two all the way that go up.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Mar 2017 19:33:52
Curahee, I presume you're trolling? How could they have had 5? Apart from hitting the bar they didn't do much, most of their shots were straight at Green. Yes they had more possession, but then so did Reading. No one is in the playoffs all season through luck, we're there because we deserve to be. Who should be above us then?

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 20:12:00
SG No I'm not trolling. Yes straight at green and going back to my original posts better players wouldn't have hit them straight at green. We aren't in purely by luck, but how many times this season have the opposition have had so many more shots that have gone inches wide, over, hit the wood work! we've had lots of luck this season

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Mar 2017 20:15:55
Exactly!

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 20:22:40
And my point is let's hope it doesn't run out before the end of the season

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Mar 2017 20:32:00
How is missing a chance a sign of luck? Dallas had a great chance for 2-0 yesterday, but it wasn't unlucky that he missed, it was a poor effort.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 20:33:04
Have many stonewall penalties have not been given to us? How many poor refs have we had? We're not lucky, we're where we deserve to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 20:41:11
Penalties are decisions

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Mar 2017 20:59:56
Curahee, you do realise that hitting the post and cross bar is a miss. The only reason they are needed is to show wether the ball would have gone in the space in between them or not. πŸ˜‰

Forest winning 2-0. Hopefully the Geordies can do the business too.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 17:06:14
SG, I don't understand why a Newcastle win is good for us. Surely a Huddersfield win would benefit us more. Same with Wednesday winning. It now means that Norwich hopefully are too far behind us to take our play off place. After all unless we finish in the top 2 it doesn't matter if we finish third or sixth. Fulham are the only danger now and if we can beat them on Tuesday then I think a play off place is guaranteed.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 17:15:57
Because we won't catch Newcastle and I don't want the dog lovers catching Brighton. Don't want the Wendies making the playoffs and Norwich are not a threat to us.

It's quite obvious to me, let Newcastle pull away and it opens up a scrap for 2nd. If the udders Win it mean the top 3 pulling away. So if Brighton bottle it there's a chance for us to get it 7 points difference and we still have to play them

Obviously I'm buzzing he's scoring goals, but getting fed up of Sky making out like it's all down to Wood. He hasn't scored an individual goal all season, it's down to great service. Ayling's ball in for the first yesterday was superb and his second was a tap in after great work from Phillips and Doukara. When will Green get credit for his saves, Bartley and Jansson for their headers, Berardi, Ayling and Bridcutt for their tackles, Hernandez for his assists? It's a team game and we're not a one man team.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

04 Mar 2017 12:03:03
Great win last night and puts pressure on rest of teams playing today. Think whole squad are playing their part and Monk and his team are getting tactics spot on. can't believe how many of our players are not good enough for some of you guys. Sacko, Douks, Dallas, Phillips, Berardi, now Bridcutt. Maybe some would struggle in premier but all doing a job for us. They are the players who got us where we are. Alf will be good addition on left onwards and upwards eh lads.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

04 Mar 2017 12:17:20
Some fans aren't happy unless they're moaning Bige. Probably the same ones slating Wood in August and wanting Matt Smith back and the ones crying over Byram and Cook all summer.

Agree2 Disagree1

04 Mar 2017 12:16:47
sacko has flaws but also brilliance, dallas offers something but sometimes flat, phillips is great in many ways but not overly mobil if he was he would be up there with carrick. bridcut is very good. douk and beridi are only good for teams that want to finish around 10-12th in league a team of douks and beridis would not be in promotion would they?

Agree0 Disagree4

04 Mar 2017 13:04:47
Give me a playoff spot anyday over our usual mediocre mid table finish, we've had 5 crowds over 30,000 with more to come we didn't achieve one 30,000 last season our home atmosphere has been the best for years some fans won't ever be happy unless it's automatic yes we'd all love that but that looks unlikely and holding on to play off spot with squad we have has been a fantastic achievement from Monk, let's hope our luck holds out and we can look forward to a fantastic summer come end of May, Keep The Faith MOT.

Agree3 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 14:05:57
Bw Phillips been played out of position all season. He is not defensive midfielder. However it was his pairing with O, Kane that took us on a run before xmas that put us where we are. Yet you rate him poor and Bridcutt good. Agree with you about Sacko once he gets final ball right he will be unstoppable. Berardi again played out of position all season, are you judging him at left back or right back because he is one of the better right backs in this division.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 16:38:32
sorry my post was misleading. i don't think phillips is poor, far from it, he has real quality on the ball reminds me of tom huddlestone. just think he lacks that bit of mobility that said if he had that mobility he would be playing for man utd and england.

with berardi, i judge him as left back because that is where he is playing bremner was a great but if we kept playing him in goal he would of been rubbish, teams will target him at left back because he ain't one, that is not his fault but will cost us. taylor is needed as beridi is by far our weak link.

sky said it last night, i think it and sure playoff managers will target him. end of the day playing out of position is commendable but won't get us extra points for effort. while playing there we need to judge him on this as for all purposes that is what he is and even at right back he is no super luke ayling.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 10:44:09
Well, 150 quid up from last night's result. Had Leeds to score between the tenth and twentieth minute, wood to score two or more, Leeds to win and both teams to score, and 3-1 Leeds. Not often I get one bet in let alone 4! As far as the match goes, we were second best. As soon as they equalised though, I knew we would go on to score again. Last season if they equalised we would have crumbled. I have a strange feeling that we may just fight it out for second spot with Huddersfield and Brighton, but we have to play better against Fulhamn or we'll be punished.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2017 11:48:20
Good God. Well done. I thought I did well with my 2 quid on leeds to win and both teams to score at 9/2 . Totally correct about last night. Excruciating to watch but when we get 3 points playing like that who cares. And yes in previous seasons there's no way we would have come back to win that game. Will need to step on the gas a bit more in other games though - but without tempting fate, only a collapse now will see us miss out on the playoffs. Here's to a Fulham defeat today !

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 09:18:24
I do think our goal leads a charmed life and against good opponents we will loose more times than not due to them having players who don't waste chances. Our record against the top teams in the championship isn't the best to be fair. This isn't a problem right now, but we can't keep relying on wood for goals and the opponents to miss a hat full, miss penalties or hit the woodwork. If we go up, we might come unstuck

Believable1 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2017 10:14:57
if we go up who cares. if and that's a bit if we go up and get beat every week that is still amazing for leeds, think of the turn around five years ago if you offered me being in prem but getting record low points i would of took that as i felt we were more likely to go league 1. going up brings money that brings players and imporevement if done well. yo-yo team would be good for me at the moment look at burnley. Also I trust in monk if we went up we have a decent base to build from

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 10:23:17
I think if we went up and got record low points the rose tinted glasses would soon go! the positivity would vanish! I'm not saying going up wouldn't be great and I don't want to, just pointing out that we are really riiding our luck at the moment and surely it can't continue

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 11:07:52
We've been riding our luck for 30 odd games now the table doesn't lie we are where we are because we deserve to be I am fed up of hearing about relying on Wood. He gets goals because he gets because balls are played to hlm. Wood has not scored an individual goal all season every goal has had an assist. Are Newcastle not relying on Gayle or Bristol on Abraham. Wake up guys we have a great team that's very hard to beat we are not overachieving we are a top championship team

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 11:59:57
Record against top teams . lost both (narrowly) to the dogbotherers, beat wendies twice, beat Reading, drew with Fulham, beat Norwich, hammered PNE. Lost to the top 2, but have to play both again. Maybe not the best but at least as good as the others

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 11:35:52
Long may we ride our luck. I have to agree with you, we do not dominate many teams and with Wood in form we rely on him and our brick wall at the back. So not going to be any rugby scores but we will keep the opposition to nils or ones. Pedraza impressed when he came on so not sure why Garry does not start him (or Barrow) as everyone moans about Douk and Dallas.

The only reason (I think Mark Ching touched on) was their tracking back, hence the nils and ones. At the risk of sounding repetitive, Fulham is now a six pointer. Win that and we are virtually safe. IF we do go up this year then I think we have the manager (and a defence) who can give us a good chance of staying up. With extra cash and some astute buys we will be hard to beat. MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2017 12:02:52
Curahee, we've spent years being pessimistic Leeds fans and expecting no more than top half of the championship. We're in the top 4 with 11 games and the most points we've had for 7 years. If we're to go up it's not based on quality, it's based on desire from the team and form. Look at how much different middlesborough, and hulls teams are from 12 months ago.

If we go up our better players will make the step up, if we don't we sign new ones like these two examples have. We may not be ready physically but you can see the players want it more than their opposition, look st the challenges and the expressions and the celebrations.

Bit more positivity and luck and the play offs genuinely could be ours, and why not? Hudds, reading, Wednesday and Fulham must all be bricking it st our form 10 from our last 4. The best manager and team we've had since the premier league, start to realise that it's a reality and that Leeds can do it. MOT.

Positive 3 points 3 goals no yellows Pedraza can hit the target. negative giving ball away. All successful teams win when not at best and seem to get that that bit of good fortune. There are plenty of shocks waiting our rivals today.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2017 12:02:00
No yellows was a big boost, if only Ayling and the Bartman can manage the next 2 games without a card, Pontus needs to get his 2 cards soon so he's available for the playoffs (if needed) :)
