Dont know why, but got a feeling new geezer Ajose is going to be good player for us. Young, hungry and a point to prove. MOT.

Like all the new arrivals, we have to give them time to settle and our total support.

If they keep their feet on the ground (and the ball!) we will have a great season.

Agreed Cork he ain't bad at all but as Marciare says Total Support required for him and all.

Saw Sorenson down at ER late on today, I know he's Danish but that's it is he any good?

06 Aug 2014 10:32:45
Yes he's good. For me, this is the key signing when we pull it off hopefully to be announced in next few hours.

Rumoured that Clayton is going for 2 million, do we get any percentage of this?

Potentially some sort of solidarity fee but unlikely, Man City will get a small fee for his youth development.

Went today to watch the u21's first half not too bad but we had 2 billy barn doors upfront in hunt and smith polean had a injury early on.took the lead and dominated most first half until last attack got middlesboro level.second half starteg by conceding a second goal several subistutions by us lead by a passing leeds more acadamy than pros led us and in the end gave us a well rewarded victory.
I really hope the time spent with our youth has given incentive to hunt and smith.
lets go MOT

Reading the P'boro fans opinion on our Ajose acquisition and there's very few that are sad to see him go. Good riddance, £150k fee is £150k too much, well done posh for managing to get a transfer fee, etc etc are someof the things the fans are saying.
Is it just me or could we have just bought the next Ryan Hall?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Aug 2014 22:28:47
I can't see why he wouldn't be a good signing. He's 22 years old, he's a winger and he scored 17 goals last season. If it was 150k we have clearly got a bargain. A lot of fans of other teams and the media have just jumped on the bandwagon by trying to ridicule and scrutinise everything cellino does. Considering matt smith didn't score anywhere near that and he's done well there is surely a chance for ajose

While I praise mc but I also question him he says he wants us back in prem in 2016 but he is hardly spending big money on quality players we need to get to premiship and stayin there u can't do it on a shoe string budget I say spend now on top quality or we will only be a mid table team plus get us a provin manager plz

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Judge him by christmas not before we have kicked a ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Gary
Isn't that what Risdale tried? Also Spurs spent £120 mill last year and what a waste.
I'd rather search for and sign, then develop a young promising player for the future than waste money on a 27yr old has been that just wants a few pounds before he retires.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gary1999, you obviously haven't been paying attention. Cellino has had a lot to deal with financially. Realistically we were never going to spend big given these changes:

1 Adopting continental style method of coaching
2 Eradicating considerable debt and financial mismanagement of predecessors
3 Aim to re-acquire the ground

Cellino's playing it perfectly. Spend moderately for now. He is entitled to have a look. Judge him and Hock at Xmas. If we are within touching distance of the play-offs come 2015 I expect him possibly to line up a big money striker but no point doing so right now. Ranger might do the business also. There is so much cause for optimism, don't understand your negativity.

Burnley did it on a shoestring. Their main ingredient was team work and a collective will to win. Money guarantees nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally think Massimo has sorted our season out now. I'm impressed with the signings & style of play, the youth of the side, the potential going forward. This is the basis of a really exciting young side who could do a Swansea on this league in 2015-16. This season we will finish between 6-10th & not flirt with relegation while playing some decent stuff at times. All of this is to lay foundations for our youth to take over 15-16 season. It's the reason were signing young exciting players to fit with Cook, Dawson, Byram, Mowatt, Taylor & others.
I had grave doubts for some time but see it all now & believe me if we're anywhere near top 6 at xmas watch Cellino go for it with his cheque book. Back the man now & see us improve over this season as we find a side with balance, power & skill. MOT

Scoops Andy Slough, spot on boys you guys nail it all the time positive positive positive. 1999 give it time, we've all been waiting too long for sure but that ain't MC'S fault. Burnley sold their best and got up by hard graft and team spirit, Leicster invested heavily season on season on season until it worked, we are now moving in the right direction, so top half this and promo next season in my mind but as long as we are improving that'll do for me for now. MOT ON & ON.

Just going off paper and review but this Sorensen is the signing I most hope we sign, I think that's the only problem area now as unfortunately I really don't think wooton is currently championship class. With Sorensen and ranger added to our current signings I will e happy and eagerly anticipate the coming season. MOT through a new season come on lads!

I'm just putting it out there, I would take Ranger at Leeds on a short term deal. If the deal was similar to Diouf's last year and the guy can prove his talent and bad days are behind then why not?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know he's a complete liability but he is a class forward. Would really like him in the team. Him and doukara would be a handful.

It's funny that Delort has chosen charlton.like why would a player like him go their suppose there wasn't interest for premierleague or athletico madrid after all anyway maybe he wants to experience the championchip for a season then league 1.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed003's Note - Ooooooh lol.}

05 Aug 2014 16:23:12
As Cellino says, he was never interested in delort, just papertalk

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 16:41:01
I don't actually think any big clubs were in for him. Cellino said his agent was playing games by linking Delort with us. How can a player be linked with athletico madrid, leeds, charlton and brentford. Madrid could have doubled his wage and it wouldn't matter t them. It was all speculation

Agree0 Disagree0

Some times I think its good not to have a clue. We think dalort would be a better buy than ranger.never heard of him until last week.

Cellino and Salerno have made great signings throughout the transfer window and now today we are about to complete the signing of Sorensen £380,000 loan fee with a fixed sum of £3.5 million next year from juventus. If he performs well. Quality business.
I have seen many people criticise the signing of nicky ajose from Peterborough but he scored 17 goals last season as a winger for Swindon and Peterborough. That is great for a 22 year old. How can fans not be excited by a prolific WINGER. If he scores 10 goals and creates 10 goals then he would definitely prove his worth. He is more than capable of that. Can't wait to see who else we will sign. Cellino said at least 4 before Saturday!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The four are probably Sorensen, Ajose, Benedicic and Nile Ranger

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 12:33:18
Ajose would be a bad signing Brentford fans are laughing at us I hope this does not happen . Cellino also turned down the chance to sign gudietti what's he playing at.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ryan what's he playing at!

It's called talking to players, evaluating what they want from a move to LUFC and then deciding if they are the type of player we want at our club.

Something that's NOT occurred for a long time that's why we were watching the Drabble last season mate ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure how you know MC had the chance of signing him!
He is rumoured to be returning to Holland with both Ajax and Feyenord interested in him, so if for some slim chance MC was interested, do you think for one second he would want to come to us over top flight football, champions league and top wages.
You need to get a grip, MC has made some quality signings and for once, things are on the up at Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 16:26:33
Ajose a good young player , and English , why would we care what brentford think?, that's right ,we dont

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 18:43:07
What does Brentford have to do with anything? Ajose will be better than Stewart. Provided we get Sorensen, I am delighted with our incomings. Wouldn't mind Chris Wood though.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 11:55:24
Ooooh, I am excited. We are being strongly linked to a British based player. Don't know much about Ajose, but still.

Wanted Agard though, and still questioning Ranger but on a short term deal might be worth a punt.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I wonder why clubs are stalling on offering agard a contract because he wants to leave and had a great season last year. I hope cellino gets him in. Nile ranger on a short term deal is good because he has got quality but his attitude is terrible but if he performs he could be offered a long- term deal. Considering he never turned up to training at swindon, he did well.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 16:07:52
Why on earth would we want a player who is prepared not to turn up for training, it's his job, if he can't be ars*d, then he is not good enough for us imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 17:45:31
What I mean is, if he sorts himself out he will be good, that is shown by him not trying and doing well in league one. If hockaday and cellino can sort him out then he will score goals

Leeds to sign Nicky Ajose from Peterborough. Winger so may add some width and looks decent. Scored 17 goals for various teams last year . MOT

Mornin everybody peeps innit. Well, as I count down to saturday I have to say I have a feeling of optimism and excitement that I have not had for years. Not just that we will have a good season, but that we are on the cusp of something big and long lasting. At last we have an owner committed to Leeds, running the club in the right way, in every way, had given up hope that would ever happen! Wow, this could be hugely magnificent, MOT forever to the premiership

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree totally vid. I am concerned that we don't have a re-placement for mcc but sorensen looks on paper a good cb who should compliment pearce and visa versa. one good in the air one good on the ground breaking attacks up.
I understand we are short on width too but as you say 2 more signings this week and we could be in with a shout at 8th + which for me would be a great season. Anyone got the average age of our squad btw. Seems all new signings are under 24 plus youth coming through this could be the start of a great few years at lufc. gg MC

Agree0 Disagree0

Average age of current squad 24.3

Totally agree, team taking shape. Think Hunt and Norris will be on their way soon. Don't think we will be relying on one main striker this season and Massimo will be expecting all forward players to contribute. Better to have three or four players in double figures than one. Doukara will cause a lot of problems for defenders in this league and its up to midfield to push on and grab what they can. Tonge surprised me in friendlies seems to have a purpose to his play now. I expect new signings to keep coming and looking forward to the new campaign. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 09:34:06
i'm with you on that vid, can't wait!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a very small part of what you say above sums it all up - we have an owner who is committed to LUFC. Whatever happens, whatever mistakes he makes (or has made), I do believe he wants the club to succeed and will do his best to make that happen. That's good enough for me! (I always suspected uncle K. had come with the deliberate intention of running us into the ground). Anyway, an exciting season in prospect I think, with lots of young and (hopefully) hungry young lads out to impress. fasten your seat belts and hold on tight!!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 12:08:53
Bige I agree would be happy with Morrison doukara smith all getting 10-15 goals each with midfield and wingers chipping in than one man we have to rely on, look at last season when McCormack didn't score for a few games, no one really took the weight of him this time I think we will have everyone sharing the burden

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2014 12:16:45
I think Tonge has benefited from Hockaday asking the team to play a passing game rather than playing hoof ball like previous bosses. I'm looking forward to the season too. I'm not sure we will make the play offs (would love it if we did) but I don't think we'll be flirting with relegation either.

Agree0 Disagree0

So mc has done it his way
Got rid of all the crud that didn't want to play for us or weren't good enough and given the ones that wanted to, the chance. Judged the players that wanted to play for leeds and has now decided where the quality needs to be added. Now seeking the cream that so many in the past, promised and failed to deliver.
Mc is delivering. 2 more and job done I reckon!
Who would have thought a week ago we would see a leeds team capable of passing a football on the floor to a team mate, but this seems to be coming true!
And now we have hope! And excitement about the new season!
Its not all going to be rosey but its going to be a damn site better than the last few years! Well done mc!
