For all those thinking SMITH should come back. Today he played 59 mins against Walsall in Div 1 before being substituted. 'We dont need him'

Anyone think Joel Ward will be a good addition to the squad?

Believable8 Unbelievable2

People mentioning halford and ward a lot. both good players, but i think we should sign one or the the other, not both, as then we will have the majority of a defence that got relegated.

Agree2 Disagree1

Ward is actually a natural cm he was only forced to play defence because there was no one else. Halford very solid has premier league experience and his long throw is added bonus, neither would be madly expensive because of pompeys troubles

I know I wasn't the only white unsure about NW coming, but he has changed my mind with his positive reshaping policy in getting players in early so we can get some stability in pre season. 1 great signing already and a lot of the dead wood trying to be cleared. The squad needs to be a lot smaller and wages spread through a core of better quality players with hunger, passion and pride in the badge. Newcastle should be a role model in the players they've used and bought. Obviously i'm not on about spending millions (which we all know we don't have!) but they have used a lot less players than most teams in a season to achieve their goal. Good luck neil, prove me right, hope we keep snods, lees and mc cormick. MOT

I hoped all along we wud get sgt warnock but i felt bates wudn't stretch out a hand to him because of his stubbern birdseye. he wud of thought he wasn't fit for the captains table. but he did and so it begins and i say. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH, ME LADS! mot4life

Why are we looking to sign old players for a long term team?!

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Are we?

Agree3 Disagree1

Old players? Who says we are looking to sign old players. Pearce is early twenties you numpty, and besides all teams need a blend of youth and experience.

Agree3 Disagree0

We've only made one signing and he's 24 - not exactly old...

If Leeds United want to buy all the players they are rumoured to get we will have to sell as you see above. I have put where they could go and for a realistic price. Neil Warnock will be given no transfer budget by Ken Bates so he can only spend what he sells.

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Wouldn't be my fantasy football team

Silly season has started again has it? bowyer? tom lees 200k? becchio to wednesday? paynter 500k? taylor twins leaving? what a joke, we all know expect the unexpected with our team but you're living in fifa price land mate. mot

Agree5 Disagree0

Hi, so please advise on the rest of the squad. Very harsh on Davide since he is coming back from injury, Leigh is out for a while, cannot see how any team would buy damaged goods. If Portsmouth wanted Paul C then he may have been part of the Jason deal. NW has already been on record as stating he rates Tom. I am unsure about the merit of selling the youngsters for peanuts. Hard to see anyone putting their hands up for Billy,(a quick 'phone call to Gus would put minds to rest), and certainly not for half a mil'. Cannot see why NW would sell Robbie before he sees him play properly. No team with any sense is going to pay for Paul R. I have a feeling Adam is on the transfer list to put a weed up his bottom, don't envisage Luciano going anywhere, and Ramon and Andy are not worth .8mil' combined. Danny will stick around, useless (imo) players have a habit of doing just that.
P.s. NW has said he does not really do over 30's, so Kenny, Derry, Bowyer, Diouf, Hulse? You are having a giraffe.

Agree3 Disagree3

Wouldn't sell that much players

Agree2 Disagree0

Lees 200k you smoking something you shouldnt be!!!

Agree3 Disagree0

3k for the turners? 200k for Lees? But 1.5 for Somma? Are you mental?

Agree5 Disagree0

Nobody will pay half a million for Bromby who will be out for a year

Agree5 Disagree0

McCarthy was the best keeper weve had for years, much younger and much better than Kenny, would jump at the chance to come back.

wolves defender steven ward not happy at wolves, NW is interested but no formal offer made yet
believable.... yes
unbelievable .....no

Believable6 Unbelievable6

The wolves captain will stay in the prem league. I agreed to say I would have him, but it's unlikely

Agree2 Disagree1

He's a regular starter, captains the side quite regularly and his performances there have got him into the Ireland starting xi

Agree1 Disagree0

Sell somma are you canvessing for the monster raveing loooooooony party. if he'ld of played this season we might of scored anothe to out strip the carp defence. i only have to say watch next season 20+ goals and 8-10 mill price tag at the end of it. mot4life

REMEMBER GUYS: Team wage bill is around £10m per season. If we have 22 player its averaging around £8600 weekly. Likes of CLINGAN will cost £9-£11k. BECKFORD £15k ? Dont get too carried away with expectations and dont be surprised if NW brings in a few less flattering names to top up. Bates may have given him £2-3m for possible wage top up or transfers but PEARCE has cost £500k. SNODDY might go simply to allow better overall quality in team and I'm sure CLAYTON's £2m will go along way before he has to think about offloading SNODDY.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

True, nice to hear a white that has some sence, unlike the muppet at the top of the pages predictions! Mot

Agree2 Disagree0

Well put lads, half of these think there still playing fifa. " NOW SWITCH IT OFF, I CAN HEAR YOUR MUM CALLING YOU. THERES A GOOD BOY." "NIGHT,NIGHT." i think finding one or two gems from lower league early, would put us in good sted and keep the wage bill down. mot4life
what do you think ed? {Ed003's Note - the majority of Championship clubs will be cutting back due to the new ffp rules being voted in,I'm sure there's some rough diamonds in lower leagues that could be polished up}

at chrismass i felt like my life had no meaning and i couldn't see how this would change for me and then from out of the sad times came warnock and my life started to feel like it had a purpose again. by march it started to get cloudy again and my vision started to leave me and then from knowhere came sgt warnocks barmy army and with sword in hand, he began to cut away the dead feelings i had. which in turn brought out the sunshine in my life again. so we began marching to the top with all his troops in hand and by may 2013 we had triumphed over all the people who said it couldn't be done. so always remember to keep the white flag flying high, for alls proud and brave souls who gave everything to the corse. sgt warnock i salute you, we all salute you! i dont know about you lads but i feel like a space caddet on the moon and ill finish with.(doesn't this just wet your appetite.) SAMMY CLINGAN: Coventry skipper and Def Mid who is available on freebie offered £8000 a week to stay at Cov before declining. Reckon realistically we may have to pay £10-12k to get him. Is he worth the price tag (YES-hit Believe)

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Hes a cart horse lets set our sights higher.

Love all these squad rumours but would like to see gimpel on the bench somewhere to see how he copes before we lose him.DONT WANT DIOUF.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Gimpel is goin knowhere and i don't get were this rumour has flown in from. i also think that diouf does come with alot of bad press but he also brings alot of talent with him and used in the right way, would benefit any team in this league. ITS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST!

Agree5 Disagree0

Well said!
Diouff is a tool.
A very talented, quick, goal scoring tool.

Agree5 Disagree3

Hi, my jury is still out over Diouf being a goal scorer. Yes I concede he has scored goals, but less than 40 in nearly 300 games in English football, makes Smith look prolific, surely there must be better, younger, and more affordable forwards out there.

Agree3 Disagree0

I agree totally undecided on diouf, thought he may have gone to the hammers as big sam seems the only manager he's listened too! We need a selfish goalscorer of quality, we don't need someone that will disrupt the team , draw big wages and spend more time banned. Some kind of pay as you play with goal scoring and good discipline contract would be good!NW has grown on me quite quickly though, impressed in interviews. MOT

Gimple will be loaned out with the other youngsters

Great 1st signing in Pearce, starting at the back has been needed now for over 2yrs. He is young for a central defender and can only get better! Not to worried if McCormack, Snograss etc dont sign new contracts as we can still keep them under contract, and when Jan comes around and were in the top 6 then thay will want to stay and live the dream, if not, then others can come in and live their dream! NW will sort the spine of the team out in 2x Central defenders, Midfied and up front.
I'm really looking forward to next season and lets get behind the boys and get over 30000 in every home game for once!

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Almost agree with every word - but sadly we won't be getting 30,000 at our prices.

Agree1 Disagree2

Well said, he's been a captain at both bmouth and pmouth too, need a change of direction and personnaly I always feel a team is better led by a defender, hope it works out and he's with us for years (4 yr contract is positive) MOT
