Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Browne, Bamford, Beradi and Ayling all hopefully back fit in January will give the squad a great boost . Looks like we only have Alioski on the left . I would try Saiz there with the instructions to keep it simple and not try and beat every player on the pitch every time he has the ball. Knock it about and one touch first time passes. He needs to model his game like Hernandez plays. Then add 3 players, a centre half, left wing and striker in January, hope they hit the ground running and we could be in the mix. 16 games down and 30 to go. Top 2 place needs what, 90 points probably a little less? 2 points a game, the old home wins and away draws should get us there . Fitness and fatigue are the big questions now. Honestly don't think the managers style is all about pumping the players up to get performances out of them, this form of management style runs out of steam over a whole season, MB's style of play is all about how the players perform collectively as a team unit, this is becoming more and more evident with every game . Our possessions stats away against an unbeaten at home Wigan team are absolutely amazing.

I agree 1970 with your assessment. Our business in the January Window will be crucial. The only thing missing yesterday was another goal which we deserved. We played well, and played as a team with spirit which is great to see.

Not sure that Beradi will be a certainty for Jan and Brown is a big gamble after so much time out. I think how good he is and how quickly could be a key part of our second half season. Seems like a game changer . Ayling also a key returner out if that group, stability back on the right. Finally Bamford could be that additional striker, if he comes back fit and ready. The advantages of the injuries are that some of the players are not going to have been overworked.

Think we need to be realistic about comings and goings in Jan. Even with the 4 players mentioned above, on Saturday there was no place in the bench for Pearce or Shaunessy. With three new players in and no outs where do they all go and who makes room for them.

I think we will only see 1/ 2 coming in that will effect the second half of the season, people Bielsa is sure about. Any more and it might be because we lose someone, Pearce is a possibility, Roofe will definitely be wanted by some of the PL strugglers and even Saiz, if he is still on the bench could be a gamble for a PL struggler.

Have confidence in what Bielsa and the team can do with what we have already.

I wouldn’t let Saiz anywhere near the first team atm. His attitude and effort stinks. Alioski by far the better option.
In fact if we can get $6-$10 mill in jan I’d consider moving him on.
Not sure Ayling and Bamford will help too much when they return either as both in poor form.
Def need 3 in January or give younguns more time to shine.

Yes, that Bamford has been a waste of money. Came into squad later than the rest, started the season on the bench getting limited game time, then picked up an unlucky injury during an U23s game. Shame on Bamford! He should have 20 goals by now 😂.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2018 06:58:52
Bamford barely got the chance to settle in before he was injured - bit harsh to judge his form from that!

Not sure about the evidence that Saiz’s attitude or effort stinks! He’s going through a tough patch but he remains one of our most skillful and creative players. I think he’s got frustrated by his own form and the tackling that he constantly receives. As a sub, he can still be a powerful option for us. Let’s not right him off. A challenge for Bielsa and his team to get him back to his best.

I think 20 is optimistic notts but you are right. He should have a few to his name.
I’m afraid I don’t like the guy as a footballer. I have not seen anything from him recently that suggests he will achieve his early potential. I’m happy for him to prove me wrong for 2 seasons like woods did. But I doubt it will happen.

Totally 100% agree re Samu, Spanish.

You must have given Wood a chance to prove himself then, so why not Bamford?

06 Nov 2018 12:53:37
I've always said there's something about Saiz, match-winner, game-changer when on form but how often is he on form? It says a lot that, for all his talent and creativity, he was playing Spanish second division and now the championship at his age.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Nov 2018 16:15:19
If he keeps attracting attention (on and off the pitch) then I can see Samu moving back to Spain for an easier life.

Sis didn’t give Wood a chance but he had no choice 😂.

another good result from the lads in what could have been a tricky fixture. so tight this year with only 2 points separating the top 5 positions.

Come on Leeds let's start to break away from the pack now and assert some dominance.

Would be nice to see, but I reckon it might stay this way right until the end of the season. January will be critical (for once! ) 🤔.

If we carry on with the same points to game ratio we will go up. I think that would take us to about 90 points.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Nov 2018 07:02:32
Indeed - its keeping it going now. The main thing we could really do with is clinical finishing and if we could add that we would start to really break away from the pack. Teams know what to expect from us now so they will set up accordingly and the majority will try to stop us playing so wins will not be as easy as they were at the start of the season. However, we are starting to adjust to that and are hopefully coming out of that period of draws now and will start a run of wins again.

Not sure it's an under 23 side or even a B team today! Saiz joins, Roberts, Baker, Harrison, Shaunessy, mixed with some of the best under 23s this year, Gotts, Davis, Odour McAlmont and Stevens with Blackman in goal . Clarke, Shackleton, Dalby and Diaz on the bench. That is quite some lineup!

Really interested to see how Saiz performs, not sure he has played at this level certainly for some time. Will he grab the opportunity to show he is revived and revigorated!

Great for the young kids to be able to play alongside some of these first teamers. Also for Corberan, a chance to manage a more senior line up.

Bielsa has bothered to travel to a grey and drizzly Crew ti support and watch the team. Great management and great incentive for the first teamers and kids to take it seriously!

Well great team on paper but losing 1-0 at half time. Possibly similar as we have said before the first teamers effecting the flow of the under 23s.

05 Nov 2018 14:25:42
Well, 3-0 down and the under 23s with reinforcements heading for their heaviest defeat for some time. Doesn’t appear that anyone has dieses the opportunity to impress.

From the report I've just read I think young Mr Saiz had better look out for Bub.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Nov 2018 17:39:06
Has to stop putting so many first teamers out there. Roberts adds nothing, Saiz just kept getting frustrated. Baker always looks ordinary. Young lads who have missed out on this game must be cursing them. Glad in a way i can't get to many matches now with work, would be slapping some of them, teams worked hard to get to top of table then they perform like that.

05 Nov 2018 17:41:03
A bit of a hiccup really considering how well things have been going! These first teamers weren’t getting fit after injury they had a chance to shine and didn’t really take it. Creer deserved the win and we didn’t really get going. Clarke came on at half time, sparked things up a bit and got a goal which would be good for his confidence. Saiz, our of sorts and increasingly frustrated. Just a bad day at the office with Bielsa watching. No evidence here for any changes to the line up for West Brom and Saiz played the whole game!

One word on Pearce, missing from the match day squad last Saturday and again today, is he injured?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Nov 2018 10:35:05
Think Pearce will be gone in Jan if any PL clubs come in for him. Bubs should be looking at introducing Gotts to first team action soon. Dallas will struggle against attacking teams with pace.

Tv also played up at weekend so only got to watch last 40 min.
Comfortable win. Never in trouble. They were pretty average. I got to be honest I haven't seen a decent team yet. Apart from us on our day.
Seems teams are wary of our energy and passing and are setting themselves up to defend deep and try and hit us on the break.
Great to win. Great to be top.
Let's destroy Brom now.

Yeah ed Was going to post a reply but got hookers Brady firmly implanted on my brain. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - how does breasts end up as Brady? That is an odd one that. I sometimes think autocorrect was purposely designed to make sending messages to someone you don't know very well really awkward.}

Brilliant atmosphere in the away end yesterday, although admittedly a very plastic ground.

The best indication of where we are as a team - the last 10 minutes of the game when the away team is winning by one goal.

And yet the home team still couldn't get the ball and create pressure coming forward. Now that is encouraging!

Under 23s back on the road today, Crewe Alexandra 1pm if anyone happens to be around. Could be an interesting lineup again as Baker, Harrison, Clarke, Roberts and Saiz all just sat and watched on Saturday .

Wanted to mention Carlos Corberan as well, I think Bielsa recognized his importance and broadened his role. He is now a key link between the under 23s and the First team squad and clearly very involved in what Bielsa does. Means we have a real synergy between the two squads and really the pool of available players is much bigger than the 18 plus of the first team. Most of the under 23 regulars could plug a short term gap if needed, surrounded by first team regulars and some like Clarke would probably make more of the opportunity if they were given it.

We are in a healthy position and really important that any January additions fit in. Personally, I can't see Bielsa wanting many new recruits in January that he isn't confident will immediately fit into his style and approach. Possibly people he has worked with before or people that we have had a lot of contact with before.

The three points against Wigan take the pressure off the West Brom game a bit and we can enjoy it.

There’s a lot worse managers out there and we’ve had a fair few of them already. If Bielsa moulds him into our next manager. I’m happy to give him my usual 6 games before I judge him.

I said a while back that hopefully we can get a "boot room" type of one manager out and the next is in place thing going, although, I thought Pablo would be the one to take over.
