Guys & girls, correct me if I'm wrong here (and please don't get me wrong here, I'm no bates lover but won't bash him either, he's too old and stubborn to care what I think!), but regardless of how many people protest against him, give him hassle etc, if he owns the club, he isn't going anywhere surely? If he was simply chairman and didnt own us then that would be different but as the ultimate owner, regardless of what anyone does, I fear we're stick with him until he either croaks it OR he sells us.....am I correct in my thinking (by the way this is no dig at anyone, just trying to establish if my thought process is right)?

Regardless of bates, what I'm sure we're all in agreement with is getting behind the team (including grayson), we all know how loud and mental we can be, let's try make that a draw that prospective players see as that swinging factor if they are possibly going to join us and play in front of arguably the best fans in the game!

Spot on

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem with constantly having a go at Bates when he actually owns the club is that it is unlikely it will any good and probably some harm. Bates is in the Business to make money if the team does well he will make more money. But as the proverb says ' a bird in the hand etc' He is not going to risk income by spending too much trying to get into the premiership and failing (See P. Ridsdale) He can make a good profit staying in the Championship and the premiership wuold be a bonus. If I was the owner of an organisation whose paying guests kept abusing me If I could 'P' them off without hurting myself then I would be very tempted. KB is just the sort that would do that. He doesn't have to be a Leeds supporter he justs owns it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with the first statement, Look at Ashley at Newcastle - What has the Fans Protests done other than help demotivate the club and contribute to them being relegated. Bates is in it for the money - Fact, what business man isn't? He owns the club and is unlikely to walk away from something he see's can make him another tidy sum. I believe he will only leave if someone offers him what he see's as a valued price. Therefore we need to let any prospective buyer know that we are what makes this club great, through thick and thin we are there to support the club. Lets not be Bates Bashers, but big our club up, support it. Help Bates make it a valuable assest for any investor. We have to speculate to accumulate, even if it looks like Ken won't. Focus on the team, the club, Not the(Financial) Owner. Football is a business and we are the consumers, if a business loses its consumers it dies - Lets Focus on keeping this club alive! MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Highest away following of all championship clubs and some premier league. Highest home following than most championship clubs and some premier league. All backed by some of the highest ticket prices and season ticket prices in the championship and the premier league

One of the biggest financial hubs outside of London.

How much more do we fans need to big up our club and show it's great stature. It's not like we all walked out and pissed off. Were still paying the extortionate prices.

Somehow that gives us the right to moan and complain?! Ashley is a fat, stubborn waste of space and probably bates' love child

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken Bates is 80 one thing to be happy about !

I've been following this site out out of curiosity for the past few months and not once has anybody had any info that was either correct or actually came to pass.

I'm just wondering.......what exactly is the point of this site? {Ed025's Note - its so people like you can moan...its also for banter with other supporters, and a forum to air your views, transfer speculation and rumour ...is just that! some will come to pass and some will not!...but if you have been following the site...you should know this by now!..durrrrr

Just to let you know that I'm on a construction leads site barbour abi the East stand development has been contracted to the sum of £60 mil (town planning ref number TP 08/06739/FU/S. And 08/06742/FU/S). If you have access to barbour-abi (paid site) look for yourself. Now I'm know hater of KB but the reported cost from KB mouth is substantially less the the true figure. The fact is it certainly explains why the transfer budget isn't what many fans believe it should be. That said I don't think SG would be able to make the right signings with a bigger budget or give the opripriate man management. I think what ever level of investment in the stand is good for the club in the long run however we need to be in the right legue to see the true reward from that investment

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Your spelling suggests your probably in the right place lugging bricks and s**te around. Me thinks your probably no more than a work experience boy if that, or someone who is on a training day from school abc due back tomorrow.

Quoting town planning reference numbers means nothing, you can get them anywhere as they are available to the public.

£60 million?? Don't be so ridiculous. Bates, I am no fan of, but he isn't that much of a mug

Agree0 Disagree0

The people at abi make them up so take it with pinch of salt it could be miles out either way!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well you can doubt what I say but the number is correct £60m. How much do you think a 364 room hotel, nightclub, 3 restaurants, new club shop, offices, new corporate facilities, new stadium seating exterior, remedial, highways works costs? not £6m as quoted. you can doubt me but I will have the last laugh when you realise the truth. And as for abi making stuff up, your talking nonsense they gain information from tendering, and town planning documentation. Not from the idea of oh let's make up a figure everything they do and state is evidenced with documentation. Unlike most on this site I only comment when I know that what I am saying is true and supported

Agree0 Disagree0

Google this if you don't believe me. elland road redevolopment costs £60million

Agree0 Disagree0

True or not, google elland road redevelopment and about 3rd link down is a story on building.co.uk to be fair to the original poster he's repeating what it says in black & White so how about people relax a bit with the name calling. I'm sure it's £60m as a long term project - whether we believe it's worthwhile or not is a whole different subject I'm sure will be debated no end. How about using our efforts and get behind the team, regardless of what bates is playing at, they need us more than ever, as does Grayson

Im looking for 40 pence a game and a bag of chippy scraps thrown in. Let me know ASAP as im being scouted by the Mcdonalds over the road for their sunday team!! MOT

Rumours from inside source(Leeds).The money
for the Gradel sale will not be used to strenghten
the team instead will be used to construct more
toilet cubicles for the fans.Whatever balance of
the money be used to repair the stadium and
redecorate the main office.Simon will be looking
forward to the opening of the loantransferwindow.
Just to please the fans,he will try to get in 1 or
2 players. The word try means look into it but not
do anything.Inthe end he will clarify that he has
tried but none of them is suitable for the team.
Well that is KB style of slow arousal. A Inside
source (Leeds).

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Don't believe a word of it

Agree0 Disagree0

As someone who used to work there i can vouch for the fact this is complete bollox unless you were speaking to Harvey or Bates themselves. We never heard a thing about anything (i worked in the commercial dept for a couple of years during the ridsdale days) ever at all so with Bates being so secretive about anything, theres even less chance of hearing about where a transfer budget was (oh and we were sat next to accounts dept who knew about every single financial in and out going too yet we still got to know absolutely nothing.

Yet again, more rubbish from people who know nothing and are trying to make up more bates-hating rubbish

Wonder why Simon likes to go down the loan
market.Getting players from this route is only for
a certain period of time. This players only wants
to get playing time 'cause they cannot get into
the parents first team.Using the transfer window
is much better than the loan window.Simon needs
to plan which 5-6 players he wants before he
narrows down to say 2-3 players.Once their loan
period has expired this players will have to go
back to their parent clubs provided the parent
clubs agree to sell. Don't you think using the
transfer window much more effective? Let's wait
for the January transfer window to open. Watch
how many players Simon will sign permanently.
A Leeds fan.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Yeah but with the loans you can get good young players that are willing to play football and are hungry for games dont you think they deserve to wear the shirt? {Ed045's Note - True point!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Plus if they are looking for a move we can check them out first and they are likely to give everything to ensure they get the move - in theory it gives us a try before you buy scenario (although i admit theory is quite different to reality!)

Agree0 Disagree0

All Championship clubs are heavily reliant on the Loan market {Ed025's Note - so are a lot of the prem..
