We are so toothless up front it`s embarrassing.
midfield was average at best, phillips is no where near good enough yet.
Defence was shocking, can`t even get the basics right like kicking a ball without slicing it to the opposition!!
We do need 5 or 6 players with quality. But can anyone see us spending the money to buy the likes of Deeny.2 to 3 mill buys some decent players but it seems we don't have funding to buy one let alone three or four.
Yet again we find ourselves with a rebuilding project for the summer, with the usual carp about bedding the team in etc.By which time the season has passed us by again.
FFS how frustrating is this. I`m going to die before we get back in the prem.
And just to keep on a bit more, Redfearn nice guy and committed but I think he`s out of his depth

Sorry to say
I told u so
Reddders out his depth. Always has been.
And
How have the results been since thommo went mr c??
Toughen up mrs Salerno. He didn't attack u with an axe, he called you a name or two. And u probably deserved it!!

Redfearn cost us the game today, plays a right back at left back, a centre half (and a poor one at that ) at right back, gives a raw recruit 90 mins and fails to secure a point through tactical substitutions, then says we should have got something from the game -we did, the certain knowledge that our Head coach is not fit for purpose .

06 Apr 2015 22:21:23
To be honest I still think Redfearn is right man for the job. I just feel he needs to be able to make his signings to strengthen the team, imo all we need is a RB, another CB, 2 wingers and a profilic striker. If we keep cook, byram taylor and mowatt then I honestly believe the future is bright on the pitch. Off the pitch however I am more pessimistic

Just got back sooooo frustrated what's the defence on holiday already!! No chasing down when we didn't have ball and woolton wtf!! Think redders time is up sadly no plan b as usual at 3-3 fine bring on sharpe up front but geeze bring on a fresh pair of legs at back to shore up defence and get rid of woolton no pace tracking their wingers back!

Peterboro I agree about wooton but your way off the mark regarding Redders, he Alone is responsible for all the talented youth academy lads coming through 2 of them scoring today infact. you have to be blind and have blinkers on to not acknowledge all the great work he has done and is doing in gelling this exciting new young team ready for next season! we need a quick strong championship wise Right Back, another no nonsense centre half to partner Bamba next year and a Jordon Rhodes type free scoring centre forward and we are ready to take the division apart, over to you leeds hierarchy lol

Dj I agree with u mate what I meant bout redders is he dnt seem to have a plan b when we struggle to see games out I would be first to give him slap on back if he didn't delay in brining plan b in when we clearly need just to see games out mot

{Ed003's Note - can we try and leave the short text talk out for those who don't/might not get it cheers.}

That was a complete shambles. 4 kids in the middle just like Norwich and Derby . NOT. Phillips is a million miles off Cook, no wingers, no subs, no ideas Neil.

Taylor and Berardi did ok, Mowatt was nowhere apart from his decent goal. Get a proper manager in asap

06 Apr 2015 22:49:36
Smitch your way off the mark, the problem was not in midfield but the defence and by the way you are being way too harsh on Philips given the match, and the fact it was his debut, what did you expect? I thought he did ok and showed some much needed steel for a young lad (only going to get better and stronger)if you were expecting him to come in and perform like David Batty in his heyday you are premature, he closed down their defender brilliantly which resulted in our first goal. I predict great things for that young man, over time and coaching from Redders the man they all trust at the Academy.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Apr 2015 00:52:30
Agree DJ about Phillips for the first goal and SMitch all the goal came from the kids even the OG was a Mowatt ball towards Byram.

Wootton and Cooper not good enough

Beradi to RB and Del Fabro in next game.

Gus has to be the Man, but he won't get away from the Black Cats. Would also take Glen Hoddle any day.
I hate what's happening to our club we deserve better than this.

Wingers with pace needed badly, Taylor and Byrom are not wingers and it shows. We are so slow on the attack its embarrassing.
Well done for getting back in to the game today
but honestly did we deserve it.
Phillips played 45 mins to long, could have had a look at Ngoyi. Ant is not alone striker, worked hard but needs help. The defence again today were awful. In all honesty we need a lot of new signings (8 or 9)but who that is any good is going to want to play for our Italian mafia. Been a fan for a long time(40 yrs) and must admit this is a pretty low point at the moment I'm not sure that the idiots in charge know how bad/sick we the fans feel when we lose or read what a mess we are behind the scenes it peas me off. I for one won't be spending another penny this season on a ticket and travelling 300 miles round trip to Elland rd or any away ground. I'm sorry to all the players that I should be supporting but the powers that be have pi##ed me off to the point now that I feel sod em. ps See you next season if the powers that be sort the bloody big mess out.

Agree Chippy, I struggle to understand Redfearn's game strategy. Two players in the starting eleven on Saturday are not in the squad today. A young player who has not kicked a ball for the first team starts. Players on the bench on Saturday who did not get on are not on the bench today. It is all a muddle. Should have made changes in the midfield at half time i.e. NGoyi for Phillips whilst pushing Mowatt up the field. Team got back into the game but defense, in particular, Cooper was poor unfortunately Redfearn does not see it

Agree1 Disagree1

06 Apr 2015 21:38:24
I don't think we need 8 or 9 players tbh get bamba on a permenant and couple of wingers n a other striker n possible another midfielder so that's about 5 n get rid of a few we don't need n will be sorted

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2015 21:49:56
agree chippy but not sure we need 8/9 new buys but we do need to look at a few benchers. I have said before that before the season ends we need to have a good look at everybody and then decide how many we need and find any who will play in the latin maelstrom that is Leeds Utd.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2015 20:13:33
I think the main difference today was pace. They have it in abundance, we don't.
We have got to make it a priority to get in some pacey forwards/wingers for next season or we are going nowhere.
One bit of class every now and again from Mowatt ain't going to get us promoted. That's if he's still here next season.

Firstly - the best team won. We again looked pretty in midfield but were let down by a leaky defence (7 in 2 games) If it can be changed on the training pitch then why am I still saying this as the season comes to a close if it can't then limp to the end and buy buy buy.
Middle again shows bags of potential but, up front, no bite.
Every time their two got the ball the threat was there but we just huffed and puffed Lord knows how many "attempts" we logged but it cannot have been anywhere near double figures over 90 mins.
I have to trust Redfearns faith in Phillips and hope that it comes good for the kid but today the game past him by but, the experience will have done him wonders and hopefully left him desperate to work harder to improve and get more first team time. Certainly he is worth looking at again a few times before the end of the season.
Everyone seems to have identified the areas that need strengthening. It's not rocket science. I just pray that whoever is tasked with recruiting is working flat out now and then is ready to nail down first choices on day one of the window and not scrambling round last minute as we the fans see top names snapped up by lesser mortals.

We get back to 3-3 with 15 mins to go Do we put on Del Fabro and Ngoyi or Sloth and shut the back door. No we take off our best striker and put Sharp on Joke why do we have a bench.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

06 Apr 2015 21:29:49
Redfern picks the bench from a hat no planning at all. I agree that he should have shut up shop when they got back to three a piece but he is clueless and with a bit of luck he won't be about next season and hopefully neither will Cellino

Got to be honest I'm losing interest, same old same old, always some excuse but you have to be able to defend you win from there.

GB should have played today unless injured, I was disappointed with ST going but we then lose twice on the bounce, 7 goals against, I think our house is made of straw, if we have average/poor results in next 5 games then for me may as well change mind you MC will prob get some no name muppet in so it is all up in the air which is so leeds united.

So so predictable. We concede 4 as I said at half time. The only have decent pairing has been Bamba and Belusci every other has been dire with the exception of Bamba and Del Fabro at Sunderland. didn't predict the slack defending by Wolves and the great strike by Mowatt though. With Cooper in the back 4 I don't care how many you score you are going to concede too many. Don't rate Sharp either gives us nothing. An occasional tap-in doesn't disguise his limitations. Antenucci is a much better option. He made their defence think at least. Murphy didn't have a bad game but his head went down towards the end. Decent start for Phillips. Berardi had a good game. Altogether a reasonable performance but stats will show - play Cooper at your peril.

Hopeless defending. Cooper is shocking, we carnt keep hold of the ball, God knows what they do on the training pitch but it carnt be any good, we are just not as good as we all think, average players in a badly run club, roll on to another average season next year with even more sagas to happen! Fed up and p##sed off!!!

Poor selection at the back. Belusci gets a lot of criticism but he has been at the heart of the defence. Clean sheets has come about lots of wins. Yes he has his mad moments but we are better with him at the moment than without him. Even on Saturday we were comfortable until the sending off. 'Calamity Jane' Cooper is diffrerent again. He is much worse even than Pearce. We were on a good run a few games ago with Belisci playing. We lose him foe two games. 5 goals conceded. We lose. He comes back in against Blackburn. We concede and lose. He's playing again and looks clueless. We concede and we lose (its only half time).( I know we were 1 nil down but his introduction made matters worse not better. We have to change or we will concede four (at least). Havent seen Del Fabro except againt Sunderland. Must be a better bet than Cooper. Can't fault the effort of the team especially in the present situation though. Can see 4-1 today if the back four remain the same.

For me the club's well being is paramount over and above any individual - whoever they are. And it is the Board's responsibility to ensure sound decisions are made in the club's (no-one else's) best interests.

Just as the club is bigger than any one individual football's ruling body is bigger than any one club. The need to comply is clear and any takeover, particularly one by a company, seems likely to appreciate that.

Like him or not, can MC remain at the head of a club with the pedigree of LUFC? The blunders have been numerous - yet are still continuing. How can the club attract, and retain, genuine talent when it is so unstable hiring and firing people so quickly.

This is not to diminish what MC has achieved; without him one suspects LUFC could have been in a far worse position. But could it be time for him to move on - in the best interests of the club?

I have just caught up with the Thompson suspension. Cellino says it was something he said to Salerno after the Fulham game. The whole situation is a train wreck but this certainly smacks of two trains colliding. With nobody telling the truth it seems like an angry mouthy Thompson insulted a fiery latin (boss) of which there can only be one winner (if there is such a thing). No wonder Italy is in such a mess if blue touch papers are lit in every Italian boardroom every time there is a confrontation. No, you should not bad mouth your boss (to his face) and no, you should not take final retribution without offering a chance of a face saving compromise but to keep a line manager out of the loop is unforgivable and smacks of bad (man) management.
It may work in Dictatorial Italian companies but not in a professional Business environment. Salerno should have slept on it and in the cold light of day called in Thompson AND Redfearn and talked it through (for the good of the club) and then after consultation made a decision. When we are on the brink of something good and stability all important, a sacking (for that is what it was) unless totally unavoidable is the last course of action. Thompson/Redfearn may not be the answer to our needs but let the remaining results be the judge not employee insurbordination. An employee who could have been cast adrift legitimately in only a few months time.

So the mirror came out with red bull offer £60 million for Leeds united only yesterday

Red Bull's head of global football Oliver Mintzlaff has dismissed the reports, saying: "Another involvement in football is not currently planned.

Cellino said: "There is an offer. I didn't know about it, but I spoke just now with Giampaolo Caboni, one of the directors of Eleonora Sport.

"He said Red Bull has made an offer for the club. The shareholders will have to think about it. I don't know what they will do." Who's lying, is this Cellini saying Leeds is for sale or is there really a bid from red bull what's everyone's veiw

My god Ed you are now posting me on the Rumours page I can't believe it.
At the end of the day we all want the same thing at ER
We have the greatest following in football and I cry out for the same as you.
However when you see Redfearn playing people like Cooper surely you can see why he's not the promised one.
Yes to stability but never mediocracy.
Must say I don't understand yet why Thompson got the bullet as I for one thought highly of him but it must be something to do with the next head coach coming into ER.
