Ok lads best 5 FA Cup memories watching Leeds. NO1. Sniffer's goal in 1972 cup final N02. Billy's winner against Wolves in 1973 semi final. N03. Cherry's winner in 5th round in 1977 against Man City. N04. Ormsby's winner in 1987 5th round against QPR. N05. Beckford winner at Cold Trafford in 2010.

Ormsby for me. My first game at ER and the place nearly erupted when he scored late on.

{Ed025's Note - mick jones in the replay in 1970 for me...first fa cup final i can remember..

06 Jan 2017 23:43:37
what i think is sad is the cup means almost nothing to me, not sure if it is my generation (all my mates would not give one league point for a cup round win unless maybe simi-finals) or maybe it is a london thing, i respect the cup and understand the romance of it and wish i felt that way but like my wife it barely raises a smile.

did love the beckford goal and win, and graysons team put up some brave displays against spurs and arsenal a few times. your other memories are before my time so that might also be reason, my main memory is when we kept drawing against arsenal in 90 and then lost, maybe that is why i hate arsenal more than anything else other than bates and hockawave

1965 Leeds had never been to Wembley and this was their big chance although underdogs against a mighty Manu team we were on the up. A tense duel all night until the final minutes and up pops King Billy with a miracle header 1-0. All hell breaks loose and I (left on my own in the house) invade the pitch (actually out the door, down the drive and into the street) screaming and cheering only to find I was the only one. I thought everybody must have been watching and everybody must be unable to contain their joy sadly and inexplicably, not so. Anyway I have had many more exciting memories of the Cup and sadly many wrist slitting ones as well. I won't even mention the Liverpool Final.

I've finally stopped laughing at the George meltdown with an Ed. Once George stops sulking I'm sure he will come back. After all life is too short, isn't it George?

It is to short to listen to his endless drivel and arguments even when he's clearly wrong!

Morning siblings and a jolly joyous new year. Having emerged unscathed from the luscivious orgy that is the festive season I find myself wide eyed with sheer joy and excitement of our beloved club's situation. For the first time in years we are at harmony with ourselves top to bottom, this surely is the cradle of success. A team to be proud of, new investment, the most promising manager I would venture in the league with an astute and capable crew and a belief amongst all we will succeed. Lovely. Long may it last and blossom. Up the mighty Whites and down those gorgeous pints

Now then young Vidmeister. Pleased to hear from you old boy. Since your last post we have certainly turned a mahoosive corner, which leads me to only one conclusion. You are obviously a jinx or you haven't been downing those pints like you said you have. What's it goons be then eh? Anyhoo, we will let you off this once as numbers are dropping like flies - George has done one and no one can make any sense of one Leeds, so you're welcome back into the fold. I'm off to see my home town team Lincoln smash Ipswich tomorrow with 4,000 other Imps (not bad for a non league team) and I will certainly be downing those pints, make sure you are. You are being watched! lol Up the Whites, Down the pints, where's that sister in law? MM

Ah big love to all! Well Mick, I doubt many could make sense of Oneleeds, not even spellchecker, but he is one of ours and he puts in the effort. I see all of Georges integrity went the same way as his Whitbread, aka down the karzi. Bless him. United we are and united we stand, even mother nature has made a few mistakes! Off to the pub my Mad Mate and I shall raise a couple to you. MOT to the premiership mon braves

MM, 11/2 for the win. Would you recommend it? I'm probably off to Farsley Celtic vs Guiseley on Tuesday, should be a good honest lower league cup derby and always good to support your local team.

06 Jan 2017 19:04:17
Thanks Boston, would be good to get Boston and Lincoln back in the same league. We used to get gates of 7-8000 for those fixtures! Lucas old son, I can't see Lincoln overcoming Ipswich away. I fancy us scoring as we're good from set pieces and have a tank of a centre forward who can hold the ball up well and will get a few free kicks. If possible, I'm going both teams to score and if I can double it with a home win. If not I'm going over 3 goals. Don't take my word for it. Enjoy Farsley Celtic (a lot of Leeds follow then I believe) , lower league football is great when the mighty Whites aren't playing. MM

After all we've been through it all together in the past and we've also had our ups and downs we're going to stay with LU banter, well, at least until the world stops going round! MOT.

have to diagree, george is pompus, backs away when wrong and tries to make himself right when, be he was all in good fun and harmless really, bit like a loveable uncle who we all love but dread when he stays for the whole of Christmas.

Andy was a vile person, some of the things he put where just bang out of line. I remember an older gent on here can't remember his name but quite educated and what andy said to him was past the line. on a similar note, i love the leeds family on here it is a rare chance for a cockney like me to speak with leeds fans. agree or disagree it is often in good banter and with good opinions.

there is a great core of people on here who are good fun and lovely people who post good or bad times. Anyone noticed how some people only post to moan, come out of the woodwork when things are going bad then dissapare when things look better, my question is this are these people miserable like the old men in the muppets? or just bradford fans winding us up?

Come on, move on and grow up. It's all about showing respect at the end of the day. We have to respect peoples decisions, views, ethics, morals, cultures etc. Whether they decide to keep posting, or not post and maybe every now again have a sneaky look to see what people are saying on here. Whether they may be Australian and don't like any Kiwi's even though they keep banging in the goals for us. Or whether they may be partial to supporting other teams like Lincoln, drinking in the god awful establishment that is 'spoons and fantasising over their SIL ;) Or maybe even someone who likes a flutter but always seems to pick wrong 'uns. We're all different, this world would be hellish boring if we were all the same and that's what will keep this banter site a must read. MOT and let's talk footie again.

Please guys we are all adults, George left for his own reasons, am not celebrating but his choice. I remember when I first started posting some replies were like wtf. made by some of you guys and even the eds but that's what banter is about. We all support LUFC but we are not always going to agree. Different ages, lifestyles etc and some of you poor buggers even live down south. but banter is fine give and take. Onwards and upwards.

I must admit, I've not been on here in a while (a week or so) . I've managed to track down the George ‘meltdown’ with the Ed (sorry George, you can be a pillock at times) , but I can't see what happened to One Leeds, or who this Andy character is, or what he's done wrong. Not that it matters that much, but anyone give a Donald Trump enough to enlighten me? Perhaps oneleeds went to learn punctuation? Anyway, I'm feeling a bit left out by the lack of controversy so with that in mind… Hitler Trump (take your pick) , what a great bloke…. Discuss. (I’m off to duck and cover! Ha ha ha) MOT
