Saw Big Mac on his bike in Manchester riding with a tin of Tetleys in one hand.

He was being closely followed by Welbeck on a unicycle who I have heard has a hunger to play under the manager. Both riding back to Thorpe Arch on a bonding sesh.

Expect the official announcement tomorrow.

Leeds hope to sign sharpe, Doyle, hunt, wabara and mills within the next few weeks also looking at a creative spark in the middle like bannan! Looking at a couple of wingers too! Brian lives in the same village as me and my dads best mates brother in law is his best mates sisters dog walker and she told us all! let's wait and see what happens guys!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you live in the same village as Brian why not name it or at least say where it is. it may give you a bit credence.
I went to school with Brian and played in the same team with him for 5 years, see him now and again also know his in-laws.
And I haven't got a clue who he will sign because he won't tell anyone until its all done.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we sign Doyle, Hunt AND Sharp? Be surprised if we signed 2 out of those 3!

Pretty boy Kewell, who was a flop in the A league two seasons ago, can't get a club so has signed for Melbourne Heart in the A League again. Waste of money. Whenever the game gets scrappy, Kewell goes AWOL. He really is a fraud now, living on his past glories with Leeds. Last time in the A League he was a real disappointment and he will be again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol he was actually very good last time, and sorry but he's never been known as a pretty boy so sort your fealings out lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Kewell is well past his sell by date. He certainly did not shine in the A league

Kewell scored 8 goals in 25 games in Oz, better strike rate than any of the current Leeds lot.

As for living off his Leeds 'glory'. Be honest, he won nowt with us but went on to win The FA Cup, World Club Cup, Champions League and Turkish SuperCup.

I'm not saying I want him back, but you certainly can't argue with the stats, he didn't exactly have much in the trophy cabinet with our name on it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Now where would the fun be in that? :P

Don't know about you but I like hearing the rumours it allows me to voice my opinion on whether or not the rumours would be good/bad for the team

Leeds look set to announce the capture of Brian McDermott's 'good friend' Noel Hunt on a free transfer in the coming days: 'On a free' has really been a recurring theme and often seen phrase around Leeds United over the past few years, so in retrospect, a believable rumour. Although his name had been mentioned by a few lucky punters on sites across the web over the past month or so, things really began to take off when it was revealed Brian would be attending Hunt's upcoming wedding, and a place at Leeds could be offered as a so-called 'wedding present' to the 30 year old, who has netted 97 career goals in 376 appearances; statistics that are neither amazing nor horrifying. Personally if his wages are not too high, I see this as adding good depth to the squad, as often when McCormack (or before that Becchio) were unavailable, we have looked as sharp as a spoon upfront and really lacking any penetration. If rumours that Billy Sharp could be Elland Road bound are accurate, I would feel our attack would be strong enough to cause any defence in our league problems!

I don't care who we sign. I would like the likes of baines, lampard, saha, persie etc on the bench. The fact is mcd will be better than mrs warnock with the same players as last year. He is a better manager, a better coach and a better scout and technition so roll on august. However if we are not in top 4 by xmas, u will be disappointed.

Saw brolin and strandli mentioned on rumour site. Brings a smile to my face, not sure why, shocking buys. So. What is the worst 11 buys in positions over the last 20 years, make it they had to play a minimum of 15 games to be included?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Raul bravo
Seth johnson
PAul okon
JAcob burns

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevin Nicholls - £700K pi**ed up the wall

Darren Huckerby - £3m per goal

Paul Okon - Enough said

Agree0 Disagree0

Slightly different, worse since we won the championship, all games:

4. Burns
5. Roque Junior
6. Peltier
7. White
8. Palmer
9. Ricketts
10. Cadamarteri
11. Guppy

Six internationals!

LR, Northants

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought of some more. Ugo ehiogh. soloman olembe. tony capaldi. Danny graham. Weve had some guff at leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Rachubka & Liam Dickinson spring immediately to mind in previous seasons! Rachubka couldn't catch herpes in Magaluf, and Dickinson couldn't score in a brothel. (cheesy but accurate non-the-less)

Agree0 Disagree0

The Johnson who went to Norwich. So bad his first name has gone from my mind. Worst player I have ever seen in a Leeds shirt in over 20 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Capaldi definitely worst I ever saw. Okon not far behind

Agree0 Disagree0

Ray Wallace
Jack Ashurst
Russell Doig
John Buckley
Seth Johnson
Duberry
Tony Hackworth
Paul Okon
Jacob Burns
Paul Rachubka
Michael Ricketts
Jason Pearce

P. S Thought Huckerby was very underated and O Leary never played him in the right position

Agree0 Disagree0

Worthington, Beesley & Bessone need adding to this list!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hard one as we have had some quality S**T but here we go for me

Rachubka/Jason Brown

Duberry Roque Jr
Lucic S crainey
Killkenny S. Johnson
Brolin olembe
Ricketts Rush/Heartly

Special mention also for Kasper Ankergrana (so bad saved nothing and cost us promotion, when we went up form with and with out speak for itself) also Derick Lilly so bad no one has even mentioned him.

Also Carlton Palmer and Bradley Johnson both got mention but think they played very well for us B Johnson was my favorite player in that team. MOT

Adam Clayton is set to move back to Leeds, because he is finding life difficult in the tin pot club of Huddersfield #MOT #LUFC LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No thanks, would rather he struggled on down there, quite funny really

Agree0 Disagree0

Morrison.

I hope we either sell him on or he proves me wrong and scores 20+ goals next season because that's what we'll most likely need if we want to be where we're supposed to be

So Noel Hunt seems all but signed, everything in place, to be honest I hope McD doesn't see him as his goalscorer as his output hasn't been great throughout his career, best total goals in a season (league and cup combined) is 13, however after watching him in the Premier League over the past season it seems the very least we will get from him is a high workrate, something we have missed up top since Luciano has gone.

Some will no doubt question why we have signed him, but I think when you look at last season I'd much prefer Hunt/Morison coming on or even starting than Habibou.

Hope we get a solid centre back this transfer window, I know Matt Mills is linked but haven't seen a great deal of him, so can't really tell if he is the answer, but I feel a defence of Byram, Lees and Warnock alongside a solid centre back would make us hard to break down.

MOT SussexLeeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree about Hunt however I am sure that he is to be used as a squad player. The challenge for BMcD is to bring in a number of players that are better than what we have at CB, Striker, CM and Winger which will in turn improve the quality of our subs bench. It does not strike fear into opponents when we are bringing the likes of White and Brown on as replacements. Substitutions should not be a disadvantage by reducing the quality of what is on the pitch

Tom Taiwo, Michael Woods, and Ben Gordon all left Leeds to go to Chelskie, at the time they was England Youth Internationals all 3 had so much promise & all 3 careers have amounted to nothing. I wonder if they would make the same choices again?

Sure they was financially better off at the time but in the long term they could have been full internationals.

Leeds lost 3 real assets they was wasted at Chelskie, surely this is a valid lesson for our younger players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's sad really - was that really five years ago?! You can't blame the youngsters for having their heads turned by a Premiership Club with shedloads of money but you can blame our club for not being more insistent on keeping the players. I suppose we didn't have the proverbial pot to p*ss in at that time, so the millions we received in compensation was hard to refuse. But if we were in that position now, I would hope we would fight tooth and nail to keep our future stars. Am I being naive?

Agree0 Disagree0

I know with woods he was literally forced out the door by bates as there was a large fee involved for the transfer so he didn't have much of an option I know this from speaking to him and asking why he ever left Leeds fact

Agree0 Disagree0

Do players not know their potential? Would they have seriuosly thought they could get in to abroms team? Or at that age did they just go for money? In any super rich team, how many home grown ( english academy ) play in first team. Rich teams buy and play internationals, not academy players. Its no secret, everybody knows that. Patience is a virtue!

Agree0 Disagree0

Really laughable to say Woods was forced out, he wanted to leave Leeds. Both Woods & Taiwo wanted to then a year later Gordon wanted to, they believed the Chelskie dream & had their heads turned.

I really believe their parents & money had a lot to do with their decision. Shame because like I said originally 3 wasted talents.

Agree0 Disagree0

For sure 3 wasted talents and I know it probs seems far fetched to say I spoke to him on multiple occasions about why and he did say he wanted to stay but bates forced him out by saying he wouldn't b offered a new contract so the money could b pocketed

If leeds were to sign Wabara (which looks likely) then that means there'd be less chance of a Lichaj return, in my opinion we should get both allowing Sam Byram to go completely on to the right wing, these combinations would surely give us the strongest right side in the championship

{Ed013's Note - Which players would you like to see released/Sold at Leeds this summer? Join in the debate on twitter @LeedsEditor and results will be released tonight. Michael Brown is currently leading the way!}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought we never gave Robbie Rodgers loyd Sam and Raymond Nunez a proper chance at leeds also habibou they could have been good players for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Habibou simply wasn't good enough, Nunez, Rogers & Sam was the right players but played under the wrong mangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nunez was too physically weak and lack creative quality. Rogers seemed to be made of glass - the two appearances I saw he went off injured on both occasions (maybe unlucky or just physically weak). Sam unfortunately was bone idle, for me wingers should do more than stand still and wait for a ball to be passed to feet

Too old to get twitter but
Brown. Kenny. Austin. Green. Morrison. Diouf ( sorry. But just not as good as he was early 2012-unless mcd can make difference) Hall. Norris and anybody over 25 who didn't play at least 25 games last year. Except warnock {Ed013's Note - Thanks mate, remember your never too old and you find a lot of info out on there}

Agree0 Disagree0

Liked sam and thought he needed more of a chance, Nunez won most valuable player at copa america alongside brazillians and argies and looked our best player when ever on the pitch was gutted to see him go. this season, Varney and brown must go with maybe kenny and Green or norris (dont think we need them both) like to give austin and morrision another year and diouf was often best player on the pitch for us last season. like to see trotter come in along with good winger
