Its quite apparent that the club has no real structure to the transfer policy. I made a comment a few days ago on how in a popular football simulation game, all I did was sign 2 wingers and replaced a striker and the squad was now balanced.

Redders is using (and successfully) left and right backs as wingers, surely someone at the club should have clicked and thought "hey hang on, we need to sign a winger".

I just feel that we haven't helped ourselves when there have been options out there that could have been brought in if the timing had been correct. Eagles for one who was available on a free.

Our squad is full of defenders and central midfield players and the formation has been dictated by this. Redders has done wonders to change things around and "coach" players to play in other positions.

I agree that the transfer policy has leaned towards players who would fit Cellino's diamond formation and you require specialists to play effectively in certain roles i.e. wing however in the current situation where Redfearn has had to manipulate his squad to create width i.e. Taylor and Byram, he has ignored players in the squad who have some experience in playing on the wing i.e. Montenegro, Doukara and Walters. Not saying they are the answer but they have not been tried in these roles or utilised on the bench as different options. Sometimes beggars cannot be choosers and if we achieve safety soon it might be worthwhile trying some of the unused options

I do not think we need to attack the transfer market and incur extra overheads. We have a big squad and talent in there to fill any position. Although some rely on no one getting injured. Hopefully Redders has one eye on the safety points and as soon as that is reached he can experiment. Ready for next year

Spot on d.s. Not securing Woolford was silly. Not securing past targets was silly as well. The one which really ticked me off was when nice guy brian pulled out of buying Burke.

Once we are safe would expect us to try players like Doukara and Monty on the wings. At the moment we are playing the best system and would not change it. With five defenders on pitch it gives everyone option to get forward. We got Ajose playing well so in summer we will see if he can bring it to the championship. It depends on who we keep at end of season and if we replace ones who go. Glad we have not signed a winger for sake of it, so many names put forward but who would be best for us.
