Welcome Stan and all newbies. As DJ Talent (above) pointed out, make sure you down plenty of pints for the good of the team!

As Vidmeister (the Obi Wan Kenobi) of alcoholism says "Up the Whites, down the pints"!

Welcome aboard Stan. Don't know much about our new signing. But another loanee, so not to expensive. Still think we need to balance the squad more. We have way too many midfielders. So expect quite a few to depart soon.

Robbie Keane played 45+ games for Leeds scoring just 13. He missed every one of dozens of chances when one on one with the keeper. Was infinitely better when playing in the Green shirt. Lafferty is a bit like that but not as good. Flatters to deceive. Wasn't keen on Keane but that was playing in the higher tier. Definitely not happy with players playing significantly better for national team than for their club.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

07 Jan 2016 21:23:30
All depends on many factors. The systems they play in for their respective teams, how happy they are at the club team, players are often prouder to play for their national teams, how regularly they play for their club teams and also what level of opposition they play agaisnt. ROI often play 'championship' level or below opposition so his stats will be skewed.
From what I remember Keane was often deployed on the wing, not a first team regular, a few subs in his appearance tally so can't really see what your point is and why you used Keane as an example.

Just a thought how are clubs like Derby/ Boro going to work within fair play rules as they keep adding quality and I'm sure not cheap players to their teams?

QPR go away with it yet some teams don't, seems very complex to me and if anything is complicated then you can bet there is a chance of playing the system so some clubs get away with it.

A certain Argentine is back in training with Rotherham and I don't mean Messi.

(Watch how a few posters will now reel off every name from the current Argentina side except for Lucky Luciano)

She did have lots of nice shoes by all accounts, not that I think she had any footie boots mind and could hold a decent tune or was that just the ladies who sung about her?

We can do better than beck as he cannot be up to speed as ain't played for ages, good luck NR with that one, seems mad risk to me.

Always love to hear when players who have left keep supporting us and want to come back. And loved Luciano when he played for us. But that's in my heart not my head. And my head says it extremely unlikely he'd be worth the risk. I'd take a punt if it was James Milner mind you.

It looks like Bianchi might get a run out on Saturday which would be great to get him back. Has anyone seen anything of him (BIGE) since he's been back in the under 21s?

Hes looking ok MM, would not say he was fit enough yet, still keeps possession well and he just looks comfortable on the ball. Only seen him in one match though. Sloth is playing really well, thought he would have been in frame for sat. We got a decent striker at last, a lad named Wilks looks handy, be rady for when we in premiership.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 16:40:11
MM -I have got to be honest when Bianchi played all those games I didn't really see what he did/ added to us. No good going forward, wasn't a great passer of defense splitting balls, not quick, no dribbling skills, no goal threat, OK with short passes but wasn't a great tackler either so what was the point?

Would hope Sloth got a go cause jury still out on him (another one who when I saw play added very little but fair to say has not played many games but I don't really see his value, like Bianchi compared to our other midfield types we have got) .

Point is Bridcott made a difference right away and you could see what value he would add and he made a difference I just think Bianchi doesn't so we should sell back to Italy esp as he is a high earner by all accounts.

SO NO SIGNING UNTIL UNLEAST NEXT WEEK SAM UP FOR SALE SO DOES THAT MEAN NOBODY COMING IN UNTIL SAM SOLD AS NO MONEY UNLESS THAT HAPPENS?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - No it means that some targets may play for their clubs over the weekend in the FA Cup and availability will be decided dependant on their progress in the competition}

is that right lafferty no loan cash only villa player no deal it would seam players were going for are a big no unless we buy so hence sell sam i'd offer him another contract and to others cook etc . as one year left at end of season.

It's a New Day and a New Year but life at ER never changes.
A wealthy man decides to spend his cash to make lots of money by taking a former great club and drag it back off the floor and to get it back where it belongs in the EPL.
Easy for a genius to achieve.
So he throws money in to pay the outstanding wages and bills before he's even concluded the deal as administration was only days away.
Not even time to carry out the DD which is crazy to say the least.
He finds there are court cases going back years and it's a mess.
Eventually after making loads of mistakes he needs investment for shares and he struggles as we have been so badly run before his arrival that every institution is now aware plus he fights with the FL and now even the fans.
Because of his convictions even willing investors walk away as they cannot be tarred by his messy brush.
So now it's desperation times and that's where his genius will come into play.
He must sell to buy and to survive.
Like I said
Nothing ever really changes ER.
It's going to be another newsworthy year at ER for sure.

I disagree, when has there been a headline that says we are near financial ruin, or a story about us starting with the phase cash strapped?
Because after the big bang and we went to league 1 that seemed to be how the media termed us .
M C brought Leeds and with-in 6 months we announced a massive lose, which we can't blame him for .
Not that agree or have agreed with his decisions all times and I wish we still had Pearson running the club, but as big as we are no one else came up with the cash .
Thought Woods was going to be much better but not all signing work and Leeds are not alone in this .
Survivor think of your glass half full rather than half empty .

Jeff (Survivor) has been pro-Cellino for yonks and even pretended to be a confidante! Now he has turned on his (cough) mate and is saying he is skint. I think that despite his rants and raves, he's the best we've had for many years. At least he got a good fee for McBadgekisser and it was good business in anybody's book. Bates would have sold for an undisclosed fee and trousered the money for himself. No doubt if Byram, Cook, Fonzie etc do leave it will be for a sizeable fee. These, to me, aren't the actions of someone who is skint. If he was skint, he'd be snapping their hands off.
For the first time in years we are paying decent money (£3m for Wood) although the jury's still out on that one. Byram is going because he wants to go. It makes sense to cash in now and re-invest.
Talks of having to sell to survive (see original post) are, as always, ridiculous.

07 Jan 2016 13:09:46
Mr Survivor, as I'm quite new to this site I could be wrong but are you just depressed? Never any good news all bad, we're doomed according to your posts. Last week Mowatt was off to Newcastle, this week Cooks going to Bournmouth, Cellino has run out of money etc etc
Clearly all fans realise it's tough financially for any large club which is outside the Premier league as expectation of the fans and overheads all have to be met.
So as its a new year can you use your connections for some happy news, like who were going to sign, who's going to buy out MC or just participate in some light hearted banter and irrelevance which make this site fun and a daily read.
Happy new year.

07 Jan 2016 16:44:53
Aussie. We don't have executions over here any more in the civilised world. Didn't realise you still had them in the outback 😃. And just to be clear, are you saying Wood has been a good signing, or quite the opposite?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 00:41:59
Untouchables and survivor you are both wrong at 10 million it's a no go according to a guy on twitter whom was contacted by massimo, he has said he is not for sale, although it could be a bidding war plus add ons and a clever and articulate strategy of MC to get nearer to 20 Mil which is what the kid will be worth soon enough anyway, why shouldn't we profit, if we must sell him. Here is a thought for you, we could do with ipswich Town s recruitment director, he has worked miracles over the last few years! 😂 😎.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jan 2016 01:39:56
Oh but don't forget DJ (sarcasm mode) if we receive the 20 million possible for Cook due to a bidding war, 10 million now on offer for Byram from West Ham and around the same fee for Mowatt that won't make 40 million. 20 plus 10 plus 10 is not 40.

DJ - Untouchables and Survivor are the same person. He's Jeff who used to come on here and pretend to know Massimo Cellino. God knows why he needs two log-ins but he does. He is very much in the know or so he'd have you believe but knows no more than you or I.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 14:42:59
DJ, the first theory is no doubt correct. I believe in Captain Mad Mick. On any understanding, Survivor and Untouchables do write very similarly in terms of content and style. As for my math, I assure you I am no-one's relation on here yet I am quite good at calculation.

Let's hope we acquire someone of note soon. I can see us selling Byram a few days after the Cup game. We may then have to buy Laffy in order to get him. Unrealistic to expect most clubs to loan us players.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they are one and the same person.}

{Ed025's Note - come on george we are in the real world mate, everton will offer around £3m for sam and with him being out of contract shortly i think we have a good chance...i would also like to say that the sooner leeds get back in the prem the better, you are a massive club and clubs with real history should be in the top flight for me MOT..

07 Jan 2016 18:09:08
Evertonian. I should've known. Stop stealing our players. Develop your own. If you can.

Real world you say? We shall see how much our young midfield go for but I bet it'll be closer to 35m than you think, maybe not the 40m but then I only said that's what would make me happy. Didn't say that's what we would get. I am calling the triple transfer price at 35m. Meanwhile, carry on living in Liverpool's shadow. Now that's the real world.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - now thats not very nice georgie, we do develop our own players but can offer young talented players at lesser clubs an outlet to enhance their prospects and escape lower division mid table obscurity...see its easy to be disrespectful mate

07 Jan 2016 18:55:17
I'm not your mate Ed25. You began the rudeness. This is what you get. Yes Leeds are a team presently in mid table obscurity and that may never alter but you'll never have the heart of our fans who are the best in world and the envy of every other club. I'm a proud Yorkshireman and Leodiensian. Something you can only dream of. On and on.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yeah yeah yeah..wind your neck in georgie and stop acting like a prat, LUFC average attendance 24,000...dont tell me..alien abduction.. :)

07 Jan 2016 19:33:32
The crowds are staying away due to mid table obscurity in the championship. I admit this. You want me to admit it twice? As for alien abduction, I don't think so but if it did there's more chance in Leeds than Scouseland. Don't forget aliens probably crave triple digit IQ not single or double. Word of advice. No more insulting names. I don't play like that but if you wanna keep going!
