not saying its going to happen but I think we need the big man back Jermaine Beckford legend and he could shoot us back up to the prem

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Id love beckford back he could deff get 20+ goals a season if he stays fit

Agree0 Disagree0

Give over with beckford ffs, there's much better out there

Im not a big fan of bringing old players back howerver, we are not the force we once were! We ain't been a prem for 10 year. Who out there realisticly! On the wages we offer (20k a week) can we get who is much better than JB. sharpe, dj campbell, noel hunt or doyle are not better. Alf or ebanks blake maybe are but one will be in prem and one is injured till november. Would love to hear peoples views on this, sensible ones mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont just say there's better out there. tell us the names who we could actually buy and most importantly would want to play for leeds.
regardless of the way in what beckford left he has leeds in his heart and if fully fit he's a lot better than the garbage we already have

Here's a couple of signings I think would be good:

Wabara (push byram forward)
Stoppilla Sunzu
Billy Sharpe
Kevin Doyle
Sako
Will Hughes

What does anyone think- will Hughes maybe slightly unrealistic but the others are all possible

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Me!!!!!! lol

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance with sako, far 2 good

Agree0 Disagree0

-Will Hughes will go for £6m+
-Sako will be going to the Prem
-Reading didn't sign Sunzu cause he had 3 years left on his contract and his club wanted £3m for him, no defender should warrant that transfer fee in the Championship, especially one not proven in football outside Africa.

"Hunt isn't prolific enough" - If someone can name me a prolific striker for under 2 million and would accept wages of 20k, then please, don't hesitate to comment.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sam Baldock
Ebanks-Blake

Agree0 Disagree0

Blake, fair enough and as a free agent must be worth a go! But Baldock? God no.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2013 11:37:41
I agree beckford could

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes you wonder, how much money is Michu on? Cost £2m, probably on £25k a week and then scored 20+ goals in the prem. there's bargains out there that BMcD will find, don't always have to buy big names!

Agree0 Disagree0

Leigh Griffiths

Agree0 Disagree0

Sharp, Russell, Gayle etc

Eric Lichaj
Ross Turnbull
Noel Hunt
Dean Whitehead
Matt Kilgallon
Gary O'Neill

All worth considering.

wouldn't mind Turnbull at Leeds. just been released by Chelsea

Does anyone really believe McD would sign Hunt just he gets on well with him? IF we sign Hunt it will be because McD believes he can improve us in whatever system we play next season.

On the OS McDermott stated he's looking everywhere for players. But wants really hungry players under the age of 24.

A lot of class under that age.

Any suggestions anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Anybody that Colin would not have bought

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm probably being biased but the polish leagues have some very good players around the age of 20 (Michal Zyro was mentioned on here and a couple of weeks ago) who would also be affordable

Same old f*****g story. Some people are never happy and its no wonders we have an under performing team. Hunt hasn't Evan sined yet and loads are slating the move. Never happy some of you. Try supporting our signings and give them the confidence that they can achieve great things at this club. You never know they might turn out to be awesome signings. Who knows just give them a chance!

Hunt is ok with me, I wanted him before he signed for Reading. It doesn't matter how few he has scored before, if we play to his strengths he will do ok. Remember Keith Edwards? scored for fun everywhere else, came to us and was crap. Torres and Shevchenko at Chelsea! if you don't play to a players strengths they won't perform.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Danny. Totally agree, the fans negativity slowly seeps through to the players on the pitch. We should be getting behind ALL our players, as the old saying goes the home team fans are the 12th man.
MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

He, like Kevin Doyle, wouldn't necessarily be my first choices as neither are that prolific but if either signs I'll back them. they both work hard for the team which always wins the fans over. Anyone we sign should be given a chance by the fans.

Im struggling with these " Leeds win hunt race " headlines! Surely its a case of all 92 clubs have to a sign Noel hunt until they come up with a reason not to and Leeds are the last man standing?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jun 2013 17:39:46
Technically it only needs two clubs to be seriously interested for a "race" to develop and I would imagine there are more than 2 seriously interested, whether we are one of them remains to be seen!

Why oh why are we signing more journeymen strikers that are bezzie mates with the boss?? No no no to Hunt ffs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hunt has been to errrrr 1 english club ain't he? not all strikers are prolific but he's a hard worker and a winner!

Agree0 Disagree0

It is only a bad signing if he is seen as our number one striker, however this transfer is about improving the options that we have up front. There were too many times last year that we did not have a recognised striker on the bench therefore I welcome the signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Go on The Reading Boards, the vast majority of their fans love him because he gives 100% every week and are sorry to see him go. He was offered a new 1 year deal but wanted longer, he has not left because he is not wanted. He will give the squad options that we never had last season up front. Another striker will also come in I think. Brian knows what he's doing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cut to the chase
What striker of ours- mcc. Morr. Hunt? Varn. Poleon are capable of 20+?
Answer?

Lets sign one sir mcd

Morison and Ross can score goals if they are fit and we play to their strengths.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with scoops, McCormack can score plenty when played to his strengths, I. e position and service! Amongst the best in the league when on his game!

Agree0 Disagree0

Still not convinced about mac scoring 20. Once becc went, he had plenty of chances to shine. Great work rate but, prolific? No.

Agree0 Disagree0

I seem to remember he scored 19 goals for us the season before last! Morison scored 17 or so at Millwall. I'd take 35 goals between them all day long!

Agree0 Disagree0

Morison has scored goals in the prem there's no way you can turn into a bad player over night

Kyle walker
Nathaniel clyne
Micah richards
Adam smith
Are all well above byram for future england right backs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Walker yes, clyne yes, richards yes but for god sake no way is smith well above byram not in a million years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Walker is fast but that's it, he had 1 good half season and was terrible last season. richards is injury prone, byram is developing at such a pace just the same as bale did and is

Agree0 Disagree0

Smiths in the u21s if byram was better then he would be there also

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith was average at Leeds at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol please who said walker is just fast? he's a class player who spurs play for more than just his pace and byram wnt get in ahead of walker, clyne or richards but smith is poor and byram is a lot better

Agree0 Disagree0

Do some people forget that this was Sam Byram's debut season? A debut season in which he secured a first team place in Leeds United & became a fan favourite (at right back). Don't forget also, he is 19 years of age, so those who are saying he is not as good as 22 year old Adam Smith (who was average at best on loan to us) really don't have a clue! I wonder of Spurs would want 8+ mil for him? No? Well our Championship RB is going for roughly that price! I think thay says it all tbh.
I can't argue that at this moment in time Walker & Richards are better than Byram, however, they both have several years of experience over Sam, so we will see in a few years!

Agree0 Disagree0

Luke Shaw is better than all of them

Agree0 Disagree0

Luke Shaw is also a left back.

Are there any strikers available for free that could score 20 goals next season in champ? Is noel hunt anygood? Any good wingers or good flair midfielders available on a freebie? So many rumours about players I have hardly ever seen. I take it wabara would be good investment. Daily paper saying byram worth 10mill and only top 4 need apply

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ebans Blake would I think but for our strikers to score goals (and I think Ross is more than capable of doing so) we need a solid and creative midfield to supply him with the assists. Also everyone needs to be fit and I think that's what we lacked last season
