Don't want to always sound like the sceptic but wasn't it similar to this last season? We were apparently interested in a few top drawer players, non of which materialised apart from Adryan, who's billing was much better than the reality. Doesn't anyone else think this might just be part of Cellino's spin to sell more season tickets? I mean, we could show genuine ambition to sign these World Cup players but in reality we know we ain't going to sign them. It's win, win for Cellino because he can say he tried but in all reality they won't move to Leeds for a grand a week, so he can at least look like he's showing ambition and then sign another Serie B player, yay!
Yes, I know you're all going to say I hate Cellino, but I don't, I just remember the script from last season. Let's be realistic, we are not going to sign players like Periera, but if it puts a few more bums on seats, it's all good for Massimo!

mm it does depend on the player and what he is offered. You are right a lot of players are not going to jump at the chance to join us but if offered a big fat bonus for promotion, play off place etc. may tempt them. I think he is genuinely trying to sign them but he can't pay them 40 grand a week and rest 10. that's the sticking point.

1 goalkeeper as 2 left and the other one was part of injurygate
2 central defenders as bellusci looks unsettled and bamba has not yet signed. It's possibly a 60 game season. Need the cover.
1 defensive midfielder to replace Austin. Is Ngoyi up to it? We don't know.

2 strikers (so obvious)

Possibly need a goalie although Grimes or Huffer could step up, both good.
Right backs covered,
CB could do with one, Bamba prob going have Coper, Wooton, Del Fabro so need expperience.
Left back could do with one to cover Taylor. but Berardi if needed. Midfield need pace, winger.
Striker need one who can score regularly. Montenegro? Ant and one more.
Money limited so if he brought in a center back, pacy midfielder and good striker would be happy. I think he will also get young players as cheap as possible as well because that's what he does as investments, if they improve its money in the bank, if not he has lost little.

I'm just saying. Defence was reasonable for most of last year. If bamba signs. It's more important to fix wats broken rather than the just in case areas
