Hey guys, went along to Bolton game and finally got over my curse of not ever seeing Leeds win live! That's a result in itself! Also bought this years home shirt (the fitted one) and although I'm probably sounding biased, I think it's the best football shirt Leeds have ever had if not any club! Looks classy and retro without the sponsors! Love it!

Also talking about next years squad, I watched the mls game last night between Chicago Fire and New York, and Chicago had a Ghanaian striker called David Accam! He was rapid, exciting to watch, skilful and is on 9k a week! His career record is brilliant, goal every 2 games! Think we could attract a player like him and he would destroy this league! Anyone else noticed him?

Fuzzy
Call that managerial tactical giant Hockaday. He knows Accam very well.
Glad you defeated your curse.

good to see you beat your curse I haven't seen leeds win live for six years after never seeing them lose for 15 years so hopefully both our curses will be lifted in a fortnight. also everytime I meet the leeds players something great happens to club (we won it in 92 and got promoted last time I hugged Larry, yes speedy I hugged larry how jealous are you? ) so next season I will stalk them and hug whoever our manager is to get us promoted. don't know this accam but sounds good. I do hope we keep ant but give him performance based contract as he has been too hit and miss this season for me (altough not played enough either IMO) someone else mentioned a charlton player but the fans I have spoken to said he is bit in and out of games like dallas. clough was also mentioned and I think he would be a real quality signing. I also think lescott might be about next season and decent shout if wages are not a problem but think they would be.

Antennuci's waiting for the phone to ring offering him an extended contract.
Should we phone him or let the clock tick.

If he carried in playing like he did against Bolton then yes

And include a possible coaching job after.

Phone him. You can make him an offer for nothing. 1 year deal only though.

i agree he has seemed uniterested in parts this season but don't think anyone can question is ability or qaulity which is something we have little of. I would give two year deal but make it very performance based to try and get best from him but then I am baised as I have always been a massive fan of ant.

Anybody else notice that antenucci has started scoring again because he shaved off his beard.

a couple of players Johann Gudmundsson from Charlton, yes another winger but I believe he is better than all are current options also Zac Clough still young but playing Championship football for poorest team and scoring .
A friend was speaking over the weekend (Southend ) , and he believes Leeds are the club who will sign Daniel Bentley there young goalkeeper .
If they had any chance of promotion he was going to stay, but now an agreement has been made for him to move in the summer, he is in the know but would not say directly that it was Leeds for sure, but knows me and the fact I'm a Leeds fan (normally takes to p###)

While we are talking about leavers and stayers. I would cook flatters to deceive at the moment - huffs and puffs a lot but usually no result. To have him in the team we need to bring in another quality midfielder who can support him and show him the way forward. The same with Mowatt. At the moment they have potential but not good enough yet, by themselves to get us where we need to be. Belusci is our best central defender by a country mile and we need to bring in quality and offload Bamba and possibly Cooper before we start thinking about Belusci departing - unless of course he votes with his feet. I don't rate Carlylon. He Walks about the pitch and only looks remotely interested when he has the ball at his feet.

Of my list below I'd prefer to retain Bellusci and Antenucci but can see them going back to Italy. My other 7 are no-brainers. They have got to go.

As for Cook and Mowatt, definite keep for me. They're still young and have the makings of fine players.

As for Carayol you are right he is a bit of a passenger but he knows where the onion bag is. He's a buy for me at the right price of course. You rarely reject chance to acquire goalscorers like that. He'd certainly be a great sub so he's a keep.

Botaka, Dallas, Carayol could all go for me and perhaps be replaced by just one good wide player, I've just not seen enough to suggest they can perform well for 40+ games if we're challenging at the top. We need solid performances every week and some exceptional performances when it really matters, like away at Newcastle.

Agree with George, I would keep Dallas Stick, think he would be better if we have a real creative midfielder and a strike force on song .

Dallas has underperformed no doubt but I don't think that's due to a gap in class. I suspect he has been carrying a minor injury for some time but has been playing on regardless. You're not going to get too many players better than Dallas at this level. At worst, he's a helluva player to have on the bench. Defenders and strikers is what we need.

If we can keep the younger players I feel we would need to sign an experienced central/ midfield player, to help them make better decisions while playing it would help them to reach there full potential.

Sadly I think the current squad is miles away, sure there's potential in some of the younger players and yes some players have shown in patches that they can do it. However for promotion we need consistency, players performing as a team to a high level week in week out.
to think we had a team with Snodgrass, Howson, Johnson, Bechio and they couldn't get promoted, I don't see anywhere near that quality in this squad.

We'll sign that many midfield player's they'll be no room for the young starlets in the team.

I don't think this division requires a defense splitting midfield maestro type. You don't not play them if you have them but in this league it's not necessary. Birdcage and Dave protecting back 4 represents the defensive solidity needed then it's all about a front moving 5 who can play and score goals. In the PL it's different. You do require international class midfielders who can unlock a game but even with respect to Burnley Boro etc none of those teams make me think we are obviously lacking in class. Solidity, offensive tactics right, goalscorers, team togetherness would get us out of this division. Bournemouth worked it out. Other unfashionable clubs are onto the secret too.

The answers in there Stick Snod always looking to create as well as scoring, Grad always looking to go forward etc .
Holding the ball is great we have had games with good procession all season .
I did and do believe with the young midfield an experienced player like Barton would have worked .
Defence and silly gk errors have cost us, Bamba who I though would be an ex signing has been up and down, Sil still looks panicked on corners or high balls in .
Bel has turned into are best c/ b by a mile .
