Right, it's official I've gone off football. Just seen on Wikipedia (hopefully not amended by mad mick) that Jack Clarke was born in this century. Holy, I'm feeling old 🙈.

yendo, nothing wrong with Dreaming of Debbie Harry or hanging on a telephone for her, a truly atomic lady! But don’t get me wrong, I preferred Chrissy Hynde in leather trousers! I was once at the front of the stage at one of her concerts and touched the trousers! I could tell she hadn’t got any brass in her pocket and I was soon the talk of the town!

No professional should ever miss the target.
Playing from a young age, training every day. 100thousand a week. Disgraceful!
And don’t tell me it’s the pressure. Rubbish
Any other job and you would be sacked.
Shame mahrez doesn’t play for Brentford.

Superb to see Jack Clarke getting a chance yesterday. Made a few good runs, great cross almost converted and didn't look out classed at 17! Bielsa seems to be handling him well. Hope he now makes the bench regularly and perhaps sharing the right forward workload with Alioski . Having seen him at under 23s, I think Clarke is still working at the defensive running back part of his game which actually Alioski now does pretty well.

Luke Ayling can have a bit of a rest and it's a position where we are reasonably well covered with Berardi and Shackleton . If Berardi is fit, nice to see how he slots back into his natural position and given his recent CB time, might strengthen the defence.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

07 Oct 2018 16:48:58
i agree beradi great cover and aling needs a rest he just looks out of sorts, only worry here is beradi don't like to get forward which is something MB demands of FB role, I think if nothing else beradi deserves a bit of a run in his actual position.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 19:53:08
Knowing Bielsa he’ll push Ayling harder in training as he’s not got any games to play. Should give him a rest and go away for a dirty weekend with his wife.

Interesting that 12th or 13th can get to 5th with a win today.
Pretty tight league. No stand outs yet.
Haven't seen sheff u or Brom play yet but Brentford best I seen so far.
Have emailed fa about the head butt!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

i've seen brom play couple of times they look good, Galye is very good striker at this legaue, some flair quality and pretty well orgainsied. Sheff I think will fall off. Brentford have been decent team for few years but never seem to get over the line

i emailed crime watch about the ref.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 10:27:55
West Brom did well when manager took over from pardew, they ended season well but then started this season poor for first 4 games. Now they playing well and will be the team to beat, have a very good forward line, there defense not as good as ours? think with our full strength side available, we could join them but will need to bring in 2-3 players of quality ( Cb, winger and striker) and hope Izzy comes good.

Told everyone here about the prowess of the Bees before the game. Victor, if you're reading, grab Maupay in January. Oh and I contacted the marketing department of Specsavers who thanked me profusely for footage just after the hour mark. That's their new ad campaign sorted.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 12:34:14
Sorry George but I have to disagree with you on Maupay, I'll settle for what we've got thanks. The lad didn't impress me that much and if not for the dodgy pen he could be still playing today and not score.

I've got ticket for West Brom v Leeds in away end as step daughter is a West Brom fan. Hopefully be a good match and Roofe, Hernandez both back.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 00:58:55
Draw a fair result and think we doing great with our injuries, missing key players, good to have international break now and rest and bring back players.
Pontus fantastic but still feel we need another CB (foyth) to help.
Ailing poor last few games, sloppy passing and missed Douglas today, did think alioski not bad as LB?
Brentford pressed us and that's why we made mistakes, Coopers error from their pressure. Thought their number 12 was fantastic, like a kante (buy him) , he bossed middle of park and was always close to saiz.
Alioski first half bad but improved 2nd, Harrison did nothing but great to see Clarke get on, did well.
They a good team and will take points off other top teams, Brom look strong.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Oct 2018 08:40:54
good post shad, i saw on FB Aliski get lots of stick again yet no pne mentioned harrsison who I thought was pointless again like he was in few other games, decent potnetial but too hit and miss for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 09:48:30
Would've been better off playing Dallas at RB Alioski LB with Clarke ahead of him and no Ayling altogether. Fan of Ayling but he's needed a rest for a week or two. Dallas is a rather useful utility player at this level. Criticism of Harrison unfair. He's still a youngling. He'll be PL quality in a few years. Want to see more of Clarke. Don't think opposing full backs will relish facing him.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 09:59:01
I know Alioski has his faults, but I agree he was better than Harrison. We really do needs some of the injured players back. We have some good young players coming through, but it was a worry at the beginning of the season that the squad wasn't big enough. If we are well in the mix in January, and I think we will be, investment in the squad is crucial, (Kinnear and Co take note) . Brentford were tough opponents yesterday and the Referee was awful for us. But we still showed spirit and character to equalise through the excellent Pontus. I know Dallas gets pushed into different positions and gives his all, but he doesn't seem to be able to really grasp his chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 10:30:40
true fev sprit against first class and that goes a long way.

George ciritsm of harrison ain't unfair really. i don't care if he will be a prem player in a few years he is on one year loan at leeds, if he can't make a difference now he needs to be sidlined. He has shown real qalitiy in patches and maybe even one motm display but overall has been innefective and as much as i feel sorry for man city and want to help them as they have a lack of players for the future leeds must come first!

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 12:30:35
Bermondsey, are you really saying Brentford football team first class or are you talking about Brentford Nylons?

Brentford good team but not first class, look at their results and capacity to draw. Got a draw with us through a dodgy penalty, referee related to their owners . They are a good team but not first class.

Think you’ve got a bit of a southern bias going there, Millwall, Brentford!

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 12:37:45
Too many on here seem to get on to Dallas a lot, Bub said he could have wimped out of the game with some injury but "side before self" for the young man :)

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 12:47:53
Gotta admit Spanish they played us better than the other teams I’ve seen and always looked dangerous. I know the penalty was not, but they looked pretty good to me. Deserved of a point at our ground.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 13:14:29
yeah i think Brentford are a good footballing side, not a great team but play nice football and let's be honest they out played us and people on here reckon we are a great footballing side so logic must make them decent.

i don't have any biased towards millwall they are useless and fact we couldn't beat them and they were the better team worrys me more than anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 13:24:23
Berm Your view is demented. Most PL standard players play in the PL. At Championship level, Harrison ain't doing too bad. He's also deputizing for Pablo. My apologies for Radz not having CR7 as reserve. #LudicrousBerm.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 16:54:08
what is demented? you said he will be a prem player in years to come. i replied i don't care wha he will become because at that point it won't be for leeds. I care about here and now and for me he is too hit and miss, i also get that he is covering but my point is some of our cover ain't that great, which is a worry. Do I think harrision is good enough right here and now to get us promoted? no not really he is too inconsisitent and too easy to get him out of a game. Many have slated aloski, i understand that but for me alsioiski is far better than harrision here and now and getting better returns

also as a side note #probablytoooldtohashtag.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 17:30:00
My point is what else you expect? We're in the Championship. I am too old to hashtag but I could still give Vix a night to remember. #takemywordforit.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 17:44:38
i don't expect anything, i just comment on what i see and i don't expect harrision to tear up the league and help us get promotion. many have slated ailski yet not mentioned harrision, if i had to pick one it was be asiko all day long.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 18:27:30
Berm So you're a Captain Obvious then? Truly helpful. Yeah you see the thing I don't like about Harrison is where are his title winning medals, Cruyff like turns every game and 40 goal seasons like Ronaldo? Criticism must always be fair. Blaming a young player on loan to us in order to offset criticism levelled at one of our registered players silly and unnecessary.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 19:03:36
so I have gone from luadcis to obvious in the same post? Lots of media and fans are not sure harrision has what it takes for us right now. and also you are accusing me of blaming a loan player rather than one registered at leeds? you may not of noticed but most of my constant over the top obessive rants are at a player who is very much registered at leeds and one of our own. can't for the life of me think what his name is though, it's drivign me nuts.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Oct 2018 23:04:28
How can people be so negative
We drew against a decent team with lots of players out injured. Ref was shocking.
Players to come back in including Brown who I think will be crucial.
West Brom looked vulnerable the other night especially away from home. When we play to our fulll potential we are the best team in this league.
How we are still in the top 3 after our main creative players out is nothing short of amazing.
Let’s say how well we are doing and not how short of players we are and how we won’t finish in the top six.
I’m still confident of top two.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

07 Oct 2018 08:43:47
i am one of the ones who has been bit negitive, we have had injires but then so have every team, for me our performances in very good fixtures has been bit below par and not given me hope for automatic promotion.

think with MB work load and style injuries will be common so that also has to factor in. I think we will finish between 5th-8th from what I have seen all season and I have seen most of our games.

07 Oct 2018 08:48:23

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 12:41:47
Don’t understand your reasoning Bermo. We are 3rd at the moment and you think that when Hernadez, Roofe, Bamford, Berardi, Douglas and Brown come back and our under 23sl like Clarke develop, we will go backwards rather than forwards again?

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 13:03:17
Team is too small. Bielsa likes a tight group but this is the Championship. We need 5 experienced players who have done it before!
Giving youngsters "a run out" which I read on another post is a joke! This is not end of season with nothing to play for.

If we don't get such proven players in, and I'm happy for the experts to decide who they are unlike armchair pundits, we'll fall away and WONT make it yet again!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 13:17:04
my reasioning Spanish is very simple

we have played millwall, preston, sheff wed, brum and brentford and not played well enough of picked up enough points, our wins against stoke and derby were fixture gifts

when we play harder fixtures i worry, if fact i don't worry i think we will be around playoffs and not go up but i'm not fussed about going up I'm more fussed about playing well which i don't really think we are at the moemtn.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 13:39:27
You might be right Bermo, I hope you’re not!

In my view is it’s just too early to give up. Yes we’ve had some poorer performances and tough games, but so have most of the other teams. Look at Boro, who you presumably think will finish above us. They have drawn against Millwall Swansea and Hull and lost against Norwich and Forest.

Still so much football, a transfer window and players like Brown and Bamford who we are yet to really benefit from.

Incidentally, if you have us down for 5th at best, who are the 4 teams who will finish above us?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 13:48:11

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Oct 2018 16:59:13
I do also agree with it is too early to give up but at the same time we can only judge so far on what we have seen and this year i see a better sprit and fight than last year but still see a team that will from what i have seen fall short.

that said not many others have been stand out either

from what i have seen if i had to give table right now i would bet on this finish, i'm also takin into account manager experience sqaud and spending power

1st West Brom
2nd middlesborough
3rd Derby
4th Forest
5th Leeds/ brentford/ sheff utd

of course so long to go and so much to happen but this would be my 'educated' (Or notso educated) guess at this point in time.

you know what Yebo they are my wild card pick. I can see them finsihing 14th but also see them clicking and going on a run and winning promotion via playoffs, they are hard one for me to call due to fat frank being new but having pedigree so I am kind of with you on that. and hope you are right, that said I might put money on them as fancy odds might be good.

Obviously the referee is the main talking point which is always disappointing when you've been to a game and the less said about him the better.
Brentford were decent on the day quick, good movement and always looked dangerous. Yes they did try and waste time and the right back should have been sent off and the penalty was a dive but they play a similar way to us and we didn't have the answers today.
The plusses were Pontus, we got a point, Roberts did well with little support, Forshaw getting up to speed and that little cameo by Jack Clarke.
The negatives were Saiz not influencing a game again, this is exactly the type of game we need him to step up. Cooper returning to his league one player form, dreadful distribution. Harrison, Ayling and Alioski all having poor games.
We had Douglas, Roofe, Pablo, Berardi, Bamford and Brown missing and once they are all fit we will be very difficult to beat.
What is great is going to a game and genuinely thinking we will win and seeing players trying and playing good football even with half a team missing.
