Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

I am reading with bemusement the various posts about whether there should or shouldn't be a boycott of the games to force Bates' hand and some of the comments directed at some supporters by other supporters .

Bottom line is, the way Bates' mind works and what motivates him is a bit like all the rumours that have done the rounds about the takeover/investment.

No-one knows what goes on in there and what would or wouldn't make him sell is a complete unknown.

What is known, is that players love to have a vocal home support to spur them on and the power of "the twelfth player" is acknowledged universally.

For these reasons, I personally do not believe in a boycott.

What others choose to do is there own decision and whatever that may be, we should not deride them for it. Regardless of our personal views, we are all Leeds supporters and, notwithstanding what I said above, I suspect Bates would be quite happy to have us slagging off at each other.

Bottom line is, I will support Leeds whoever owns them, wherever they are on the table and whatever league they are playing in.

What many people forget when encouraging boycotts are Season Ticket holders such as myself. Why would anyone willingly not go to games when they've paid very good money for their seat for a season?

Not a bates supporter but noone seems to mention the 4.75 million we paid out before the season started to creditors the constant investment in the stadium and new look team which does seem to be funded by sales I don't know costs like ins and outs ground costs now we rent the stadium which I heard was 2m a year just my thoughts RT

Believable4 Unbelievable8

LUST have just done an article, entitled "Where did the Leeds money go", it's worth a read if like me you do wonder why Warnock has been provided with £0 in the last few weeks of the transfer window

Agree2 Disagree5

The article says nothing which is all LUST do, they put out conjecture to stir the emotions, LUST play fans just like KB. Let me say that LUST have benefited from the situation at LUFC.

Agree1 Disagree2

Read the article and its just lust guessing nothing bout creditors being paid ground maintenance costs we own a massive stadium for a chamiobship club

If ever there was such an overwhelming vote of no confidence in a chairman check out the scratching sheds latest poll. 74% have 0% confidence in the chairman which is roughly the same percentage of shares in the club Bates holds. If you haven't worked out what that means Mr Bates it means the majority not the minority simply don't want you. Even you can't argue with facts GO

Believable10 Unbelievable4

I'm amazed it's only 74%.

Agree0 Disagree3

Original poster here how can anyone disagree with stats like that

Agree0 Disagree2

Because the people that choose to review the sheds site are by the main anti bates its therefore not completely impartial or a common consensus for the LUFC fan base.

Economic sanctions will get bates out .... Money is all he cares about .... Stay away from ER .... When gates fall below 15,000 he will sell ..... I love me team but wil be staying away ... Our money is going to manoaco there us in investment going back into our club .... Bates out ,

Just heard LUFC fan on ENGLAND V MOLDOVA game, shout BATESOUT!! AMAZING

Believable5 Unbelievable4

So out of all them thousands of fans you could hear one solitary fan chanting Bates out, amazing hearing Walter,it is Walter Mitty isnt it.

If we are going to boycott, pick the games. I for one think that a run in the league cup would not be beneficial to the main goal, promotion. What about an empty house against Everton. Bates is expecting a big pay day for a match against Premier clubs.

MOTFredh

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I was going to buy 3 tickets but I wil stay away the game is on tv .... So let's ban the game .... If you have to go the game spend no money in ER .... Buy your drinks and food outside the ground

Agree6 Disagree2

Agreeee im not a massive fan of this boycotting lark but its live on sky so it will get people talking only problem is if all the talk is right at the minute they have already walked so it will be to late by then

Agree1 Disagree1

Please stop this boycotting games nonsense ,supporting Leeds is all about attending games and getting behind the manager and team. Once through the turnstile Bates is the last thing on my mind, all I want is to take my dad and son and enjoy the day out. To many fans are getting sucked into the political part of the club and not the enjoyment of attending a match.

Not a rumour but hey,
Spoke to a mate today who,s a season ticket holder at hull city, poor lad I know but the first thing he said to me was while ever bates is at Leeds you,ll never again watch a premier lge game at ellend rd,that statement really smacked me in the face,we all think it but so do all our rival fans....Ive never felt so pis:ed off as this season,a good manager do win promotion with his hands tied behind his back....

I have simply had enought of all takeover saga ..... Bates is going nowhere ..... What he is doing to our club cannot be ignored .... Myself and 5 of my friends have decided we will now stay away ..... He only cares about money and he is getting no more of ours .... I wil always be Leeds nd we will all return when he has gone ..... He has lost 6 season tickets this year from us this year nd will no be down around £400 for every home game ... Ken I'm sure wil be happy to know you have lost another 6 people and listening to other friends the gates at ER will keep getting smaller

Believable11 Unbelievable2

This is the only thing greedy old men understand. Money talks, bulls==t walks.

Cant believe your letting him win
support the players on the pitch

Agree4 Disagree14

I have been a season ticket holder for 5 years now but if bates is still here come the time to renew then ill also be staying away and not renewing until he is gone
George LS13

Agree3 Disagree1

We have to let kb know he can't treat us this way ... He ignores our chants and as money is the only thing he cares about .... We have to hit him were its hurts .... In his pocket !

Agree4 Disagree0

If you gave neil £5m we would be playing in the prem next season .... It is becoming clear that ken doesn't wnt this foe Leeds .... As much as it will hurt to stay away ken will not get one more penny of my money ..... He doesn't give a crap about our lib or us so why keep supporting him .... Wake up , Leeds has become kens personal piggy bank

Agree3 Disagree0

How is depriving him of money 'letting him win'. Think you've got your logic skewed a bit there. I'm going to the games still but I now wish I hadn't renewed my season ticket. If crowds drop below 16-18,000 Bates will have to sell. Those, like me, who are still giving him our money are the ones who are 'letting him win'. Economic sanctions work - it's a fact of life.

Leeds United OS report -

"The club has appointed Laura Bland as it's new Supporters Liaison Officer.

Laura's role is to administer queries from fans regarding the matchday experience or the quality of service given by Leeds United as a club."

Call me a cynic but I worry that Bates is staying, he's aware that he's severely upset the fan base and that the deal isn't going happen so needs to make some sort of last ditch pathetic appearance of being in touch with the supporters in the hope we will forget how he has run the club into the ground. I feel sorry for Miss Bland, she's about to recieve thousands of emails, demanding Bates sells the club and disappears into the ether.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Hi, no you are not a cynic, just another dumb dumb who reads part of what is posted by the OS, and then trys to spin it into some sort of anti Bates rant.
Go and read the whole statement, and then re-post when you are in possession of all the facts.
But of course you won't.

Agree9 Disagree5

You obviously didn't read this bit "Following the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee review of football there is now a requirement for Football League clubs to appoint a Supporters Liaison Officer, whose role includes the responsibility of the delivery of the club's policy with regard to supporters, acts as a point of contact for fans, and liaises with the club's management regarding pertinent issues".
Nothing to do with bates.

Ken bates has taken all the profits from player sales , takeover investment, and ticket sale to ensure he is cryogenically frozen for the next 100 years and will remain as charman for the forseeable future. All future season tickets sales have been set aside to maintain him in this state.

source Mama Smurf & Walt Disney

Sorry i know this rumour is bad but the longer this takeover saga continues the more i think he is having the biggest laugh at us and the end just keeps getting pushed back just ever so slighty that it will never end but maybe next week and so on

Norris out. Green out. If there's ever a time to lure Sammy Clingan it's now. Oh I forgot we have zero money. Ken aren't u a multi millionaire? U see the thing about multi-millionaires is they got money. He could EASILY sink in another million to finance this deal. Wake up Leeds fans and smell the coffee. Hate Bates. Love Leeds.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Zac Thompson is more than capable of making the step up. Lenighan take his bench spot. the future's bright!

Agree4 Disagree6

Bit of a contradiction here for me....

Why do you think bates has got so much money!? because he's been a tight b****rd all his life! You do get rich from being generous im afraid - if you think bates will drop a milly to better our club your very much mistaken imo.

More chance of seeing rocking horse sh*t

Scot MOT!

Agree3 Disagree2

Contradiction? Where is it? That's what I was saying. Doh!!!

Agree1 Disagree1

Bates stated clearly in the Levi court case that he wasn't in any way wealthy, at least not in terms of liquid (cash) wealth. He has assets other than LUFC worth around £20 million but very little of that can be quickly converted into cash.

My nerves are so frayed with this takeover business...it's on...it's off...it's back on....it's driving me nuts! I feel bad for the most excellent fans a team could ask for...I feel bad for the players, coaches & manager.... Bates has to get his finger out...man up...and sell the team! He (and I do dislike him) has done some great things for Leeds over the years...but it IS time for him to go. We need new blood...new owners...new signings...and a new start. GO LEEDS!!!

07 Sep 2012 12:56:19
my word, some of the posts are so boring and negative, whatever happened to getting behind the 11 players on the pitch? weve had a good start, rather than worrying about Bates, SUPPORT THE BLOODY TEAM!

Believable14 Unbelievable6

You feel free to keep burying your head in the sand - you have every right to. I'll support the team when I'm at the games (all home, many away) but the rest of the time I'll worry about the club's future if that's OK with you?

Please don't tell us all how we should think and behave.

We have just appointed a new Supporters laisons officer, whos roles is to be the fans point of contact to the club management.

May be we should put together a well written comment about the fans' concern on there not being enough money in the club and selling the club to someone who can invest is a must to take the club forward while we still have probably the best manager to get the job done.

(I say well written becuase if we all just slag him off it will just get totally ignored)

If we all email it in crashing the system we may get the point across just how much of us our concerered without damaging the team with a boycott.
Just dont you the same email address as you have registered as a member with!!!

with norris out i would personaly love nunez to get a run out think he will open a few eyes {Ed013's Note - The same Nunez that is injured}

Believable6 Unbelievable8

The forward with cruciate ligament damage to play in CM? not sure it would best him at the minute.

Agree7 Disagree1

Why don't some of you people get your facts right first before sending in a post on Nunez should be playing in Midfield. He's out for months with a cruciate knee injury he picked up playing against Wigan. Not sure your even a Leeds supporter.

Agree1 Disagree0

You didn't know he was injured come on mate keep up with whats going on. ROBBO MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

Even if Nunez was fit he is nowhere near the standard needed in this league at this moment. Especially playing out of position

Agree3 Disagree2

Nunez has very quick feet and can move the ball about but he's injured, i'd like mcCormack to play in CM with austin and Poleon and becchio upfront, give the lad game time and he'll only get better, mcCormack creates our chances so perfect position for him

Hi, original poster, you are quite correct, Ramon would indeed open a few eyes if he got a run out with the injury he has. It would be a medical miracle.

Removal of the chairman. A chairman elected by the meeting, e.g. when no director is present or willing to act in that capacity, may be removed by the meeting (Cornwall v. Woods (1846) 4 notes of Cases 555). This is normally done by a motion of no confidence in the chair. If such a resolution is proposed, the chairman should step down until the result of the vote is determined.

I took the above from companies formation site. Surely and I have said this before no one can have any confidence in Bates especially the board, as without future investment we are heading the same way as Pompey if this was a normal company main shareholder or not if their actions were seen to continually NOT be in the best interest of the company or if considered to be mentally ill (which surely to God he must be why else would you nose dive in to financial ruin) the chairman can be asked to stand down..............never mind the supporters its time for the board and shareholders to act and call for a vote of no confidence in the chairman and enough is enough

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Nice idea however, the above only applies when the chairman isn't also the owner.

A vote of no confidence in the Chairman only accounts for less than 20% of the total holding in the club, Bates' title may be Chairman, but he's in fact the owner.

Agree4 Disagree2

That only works for PLC companies and i fail to understand how without further investment we will end up like Pompey?... They are there because of TOO MUCH investment... if we DON'T get billionaires in or Ridsdale back to spend money we dont have will we go the same way as Rangers as well?

Agree1 Disagree2

Another week goes buy and we have our hopes built up that the take over will go through but its just another rumour. The thing is Bates owns us he will sell when he has got every last penny he can get, he does not care about the team, the fans just himself, we can keep chanting tell him to go but he wont he does not care, he has had abuse for years. We have had bad directors for years at Leeds and have demonstrations outside the ground, remember when Eddie was sacked as manager back in the 80's or even when our glorious diretors of the past decided to give clough the managers job the money men dont care about the fans they are in it for what they can get out of it, I would love Leeds to be owned by someone who loves Leeds but these days it will never happen even these arabs wont have the club at heart. there must be a big yorkshire company who would love to own Leeds but I am just a dreamer who will carry on following Leeds home and away and one day we will be back in the big time

Believable0 Unbelievable3

As far as i am aware one of the Arabs in the consortium is a lifelong Leeds fan so they might have the club at heart. Certainly more than lifelong Leeds hater Mr. Bates.

Looks like Bates is screwing it up for us. He needs to ask himself this. If he were to die tomorrow would anyone in football would anyone from LUFC observe a minute's silence? Nowadays they do a minute's applause. That would probably be what happens for Bates....only for slightly different reasons. Only LUFC can own the most hated player and most hated Chairman all at the same time. I actually can't take this anymore. We deserve so much better.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

You forgot one of the most universally hated managers too :) All we need now is Barton on loan too!

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest i think you would be in the minority clapping someones death pretty sick and before you say no im not a bates lover

Agree9 Disagree1

Some people have lost all perspective Mindless vitriol will solve nothing other than to highlight the nastiness of some of our beloved fans [ eg. see toma and the bating of Boozie, pathetic].. I too am no bates lover but dont wish death on the man. Listen, we dont know what has gone on, we dont know why there is a problem. Most people automatically jump to the conclusion its all bates's fault. What about these so called buyers? They may be the poorest sheikhs in the middle east [ knowing our luck they will be]. Maybe they cant stump up the cash. Dont forget one of them could not raise the cash back in 2003. So lets all wait and see what happens. In the meantime get to ER and support YOUR team. Otherwise go away.
Pistols 50.

Agree6 Disagree4

I like most Leeds fans don't like Bates at all, however I would not wish death upon anyone. If he did die i would certainly not disregard a one minutes silence or applause that is pretty sick.

as much as i love leeds utd sometimes you have to think realistically. let's say we think the unthinkable and actually pull off promotion this year. i think with bates still in charge we would have no investment and would come straight back down to the championship. i'm affraid until bates goes we are simply not going to be able to move forward. i fear that warnock will be gone by the end of the season if this takeover isn't sorted, this meaning another backwards step for leeds united

Believable6 Unbelievable4

End of the season NW gone if Bates still here? Try end of next week!!! Injuries to 2 first team players doesn't help. NW knows what's required and knows what's required but it's predicated on Bates spending. He isn't!! Expect takeover or expect NW to resign. Fees were obtained for Snods Lonergan and Clayton. About 3.5m in all but we only spent like 2.5m. Don't think that's what NW had Bates agree to when he took the job. The whole love-hate quadrangle between Bates the buyers NW and fans approaching boiling point.

Agree5 Disagree3

NW is gone at the end of the year regardless of which division we are in or whos chairman. He has said numerous times this is his last season in managment and he wants to retire whatever happens

Agree1 Disagree4

Warnock wouldnt walk away if we got promoted he even said himself he would find that hard to do

Agree1 Disagree3

3.5m in all? cash upfront for snoddy 1.5 lonergan 200k clayton 500k thats 2.2 and we spent 2.5 like you said

Agree0 Disagree2

Snodgrass has another 1.5 in add ons to the basic fee

Agree0 Disagree2

When NW was doing a book signing at ER shop I asked him cheekily ( i am a young teen) whether bates was been tight and he said he would be signing till the end and if bates didn't cough up he was gone so it makes me wonder
