Don't know about anybody else but I would like edgar davids to be the nxt leeds manager done well with barnet and he has passion just what leeds are lacking atm

Believable2 Unbelievable28

Er? what's he done?

It doesn't necessarily matter what someone has done so much as what they could do. The only question at interview should be will you make us great again or die trying? Vinnie, Strachs, Andy Hughes, maybe Nayls would answer unequivocally yes imo but how many more? McD, O'Neill, Coyle, its just another job. I would rather an untried rookie got the job providing they understand what the job and the name means! and providing they are prepared to bleed white, they would get my vote before someone who jumps on and off the merry go round for the sake of a pay cheque

Agree3 Disagree0

Er WHO?

Agree0 Disagree1

I couldn't care who it is so long as they are successful with lufc.

Agree1 Disagree0

What's Davids done? As a player - just about the lot. As a manager - nothing apart from getting Barnet out of the graveyard zone. What had Don Revie done as a manager until he - well - became one? I don't suppose for a second Davids is a runner for Leeds manager but of he manages like he played - he wasn't nicknamed 'the pitbull' for nothing any timeservers and idlers on the playing staff would get it both barrels. And what's not to like about that?

Listened to Andrew Hughes on Yorkshire radio tonight a true star in my eyes. Admits that he is an ordinary player but does not deny it but would die for the shirt. Loves Leeds and what an ambassador for the club. Made me realise why I supported Leeds all those years ago. This guy would die for the club and would love a role with the club at some stage. He feels Brian McDermott would do a good at Leeds. He is also a top scout and brought a lot of Irish players for Reading for little or nothing. Good tactician and has a good sense of humour. Had no money to spend at Reading and got an ordinary team playing for each other. He is a fee man and above all wants to manage Leeds. Sign him up pronto GFH. James a Leeds fan for life.

Whoever the next manger is he needs to be totally honest with the board (and vise versa) before accepting the job.

He needs to tell them that the squad needs a major overhaul and get rid of all the rubbish taking quite a nice wage week in week out whilst contributing nothing on the pitch.

The standard in the Championship is so poor there is usually only one or two teams genuinely a cut above of the rest so therefore it's not essential to spend huge amounts of money.

All it takes is a manager who can spot potential and mix that in with a group of players with experience who can gel the side to a team and not a bunch of journeymen individuals just there to collect wages.

Warnock has done an unbelievable job in bringing us a low as possible (pray we're not relegated) but I genuinely feel optimistic about a new man at the helm so whoever gets the job I'll reserve judgement until I see the squad he resembles.

First time in well over a year I can see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

our situation takes me back to 1988. bremner sacked. we were at the lower end of 2nd division. howard wilkinson came in. the rest is history. its funny how history seems to be repeating itself

Agree6 Disagree0

I'd be more than happy with that only, we wouldn't want a resurrection of Thatcher

Agree4 Disagree6

Takes me back to 1962, We were near the bottom of old 2nd division. Revie came in and the rest is history. What I might add is that every successful Leeds team and probably every other successful team in history has had a good midfield. The current Leeds one is s****. JD

To everyone who claims to have seen so-and-so at Elland Road.

No you have not. Do you really think any negotiations would take place there? At the focal point for our club? I very much doubt it. Any meetings would (if they have not already) take place at some secluded, top-whack hotel or the like where privacy could be pretty-much guaranteed.

In reply to the earlier poster - Yes Bring back bates! He t least supported Grayson until he lost patience whenthe manager made yet another request for a centre back when we already had 7 on the books. More recently though we have not been right since the last Hillsborough game when players were not happy with supporters chanting, assault on goal keeper etc. Remember Varney having to be forced to acknowledge the fans by warnock. I said at the time there may be a longer term effect. On the pitch we were second best but managed a draw thanks to the Tonge goal. We were playing better then as well but we have got worse and Wednesday have improved. can't see us beating them or Birmingham -who are another bogey team. We might get something out of Burnley but it will be tricky. Other than that nothing. We can only hope our points cushion is enough to see us through.

Believable3 Unbelievable20

Bates supported Grayson? How are those rose tinted glasses.

yes we had quite a few defenders when grayson asked for another defender but at least 2 were injured which was kisnorbo and bromby then we had players like connolly which wasn't performing and grayson wanted rid.
grayson only wanted to push for promotion and the only reason he got the sack was bates had no money left.
bates is not welcome at leeds united infact he's probably not welcome in leeds full stop.
gfh are doing a good job. they probably thought we would easily be safe this season without spending much money giving them chance to sort the debt we are in.
we will spend some money this summer especially now we are struggling

Rumour is we are in big trouble

FFS. Here we go again. I, and I am sure all of you guy's are feeling very down at the minute. I know the managerial position will be filled (not with Matteo, don't you need certificates and licences to manage nowadays)? but yes it will be filled. BUT, who in their right mind would take over as manager of this club. And an even bigger problem as I see it, what player worth their salt would come to a club with no money, no prospects no one taking the club by the balls and giving it a shake. On top of that, 75% the players that we have are really struggling, with skill and or commitment. I don't even think Redfearn wants the challenge till the end of the season. I think if we are not going to fill Warnocks position, Let Naylor take it on himself. At least he will change the team and not just use the same team sheet as Colin. I believe he would start with a few more of the young guys. They have got to be better than the sh1t we have playing at the Moment. At least they would play with a bit of pride and heart. Very difficult to spot many of our players playing for the shirt. Maybe 4 or 5 at most. Also, I bet Morison would be kicking himself for signing a contract to play for this team, if he could that is, I don't think he has the skill to kick himself he would probably miss.
And just one more thing. FFS someone drop Kenny. Great shot stopper and saved us loads of points this season, but Ashdown is a much better keeper. I bet Kenny has made more passes to the forward line this season than the entire mid-field put together. This day of age, no team plays from their box with a 4d boot from the keeper to the other end of the park.
and my choice for next year. does it matter FFS. no money = no success.

Just let's hope three of the teams below us hit a bad run, or we will have 44 teams higher in the league than us next season.

OK. must go I have a sharp razor blade and a box of Mogadon waiting for me.

Bates continues to bring our club into disrepute and GFH continue to support his position as chairman. I have not renewed by season ticket for 2013/2014 bringing to an end 42 years of match day support. I can no longer reconcile my support with my conscience and need to see positive action before I can do this. I need to know where my money is going, who will be managing my team, what the player budget will and whether that matches my expectations and what Bates and Harvey's roles at LUFC are before I will reconsider.

I toyaly agree mate, but and it's a big BUT to all fellow Leeds fans.

Do NOT let these mupets that have previously run our beloved club drive us away. I will aways go to ER even if we was in L2.

Also I know GFH are very Quiet at the moment, but I for one actully think this is not too bad a thing, look when Risdale was in charge he was always in front ofthe camera. I do agree we need A little more info tho, it's a fine balance.

If GFH want Poyet and he becomes available after the end of season I guess we can say ta-ra to Sam Byram as he'll be sacificed to raise the funds for Brighton's £2. 5 m compensation.
Thats the only way we can afford to get him with these owners.

only an person would spend 2.5 mil on a manager when there's no cash at the club especially at the price of young talent.

its about time we started some of the youngsters, the so called experienced players have had their chance and failed. the last time someone put faith in the youth we were a force to be reckoned with. me personally I would start with the entire U21 team aprt from kenny lol

Believable1 Unbelievable6

I wouldn't play kenny, he is the worst goalkeeper in the football, fat little dumpy old man now! GET RID LEEDS

Not being in england its hard to fathom whether stuff on here is real, wind up or opinion. Have t seen anything official on next manager? Has any manager admitted contact from leeds? Surely matteo, hughes, allardyce are wind ups. The only three managers worth having from prem are lambert, rafa or martinez, and they are highly unlikely. Which leaves. Di matteo. Poyet oleary. Oneil. Mcd. Coyle First two unlikely. So why not just interview those four now. Get it over with.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

To be honest mate we all hate you because you don't live in this dump of a once great country and I for one am jealous

So we work really hard to make up all sorts of rubbish in a hope that you forget how lucky you are living where you do.

Plus it does take our minds of how really bad this season has been.

At Least you're a white :)

In fact, if by chance you happen to run your own business out there, I am available in 2015 once I retire from serving Queen and country, and could do with a sponsor.

I would jump at the chance tbh
