right getting bit fed up with all the hecky hating. i understand if people don't like him that is personal and everyone is allowed to hate but here is some questions 1. when was the last time we got a manager from another team and they were gutted to let him go? (I honestly can not remember and don't think we have done it since i have been leeds fan in 89) 2. when was the last time we got a manager who media and other fans didn't respond to in one of the following ways
a. Who is he? b. Washed up unemployed
c. just a joke the outside world finally respect a manager we have hired, why would some of us then mock that? seems very odd to me

{Ed007's Note - You could have ended up with future England manager Mark 'The Magic Hat' Warburton.}

Absolutely right, why go on about the lad before he's even started. Hopefully he'll see out his contract and then get a 4 year one which will mean that we're back where we belong :)

{Ed001's Note - so you don't want Leeds to succeed? And you wonder why, with pathetic comments like that, people keep asking if you actually support Leeds!}

Well said Bermo!

Ed I love my club but can't stand this bloke too. I've been on this planet long enough to know it 6_12 months there will be someone else in that seat. It's left me feeling really underwhelmed. Wonder if Gary neville would of got this sort of reception from everyone? I doubt it

Whiteman. Grow up. It was a one off comment. Jeez Do you think all the players support leeds. He is a proffessional. He said leeds were too good to turn down. He made up his mind in hours to leave his beloved barnsley. that's how much he wants the job.

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Feb 2018 10:00:36
Love him, or hate him. I don't care. We go to watch and support Leeds united; the football team, the club, the players in the shirt. It's as simple as that.

09 Feb 2018 11:26:29
Well said Bright. I’ve never met the man so will not judge him because he’s a Barnsley fan. Was he a cheap option? Probably. But imo he deserves a fair crack at the job. He knows the league, which many have been crying out for, and has a good record of bringing through young talent and with all the youngsters we have is hopefully a good thing.

Unlikely to happen but what if he were to get us promoted this season would the anti Heck lads still be of the same opinion? Martyn excluded obviously as him and Heck must have had a major fall out in a previous life!

Was there so much animosity when O'Dreary brought Brian Kidd to ER?

08 Feb 2018 16:58:42
When you think about it the big problem we have is not winning the midfield battle. Alongside this our wide right and left players have not been good enough defensively . This has put extra pressure on the 2 centre mids to cover . This also prevents our fullbacks from going forward as they don't have the confidence in the cover if they are caught out. "You are only as strong as your weakest part"

Believable3 Unbelievable5

09 Feb 2018 07:13:34
Our wide players offer very little going fwd, this is definitely an area we need to strengthen in the summer, we seem to have wasted money on sacko, cibliski and alioski, combine all that money and we could have bought a very good winger who's proven at this level

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2018 16:57:20
I admire the Heck's optimism, despite most journalists saying our play-off hopes are all but over. The fact is, there are still 16 games (48 points) to play for. At this stage last year, Fulham (who finished 6th) had accumulated 46 points and finished the season with 80 points, which has been the highest points total for a sixth placed team in the previous four seasons (72, 78 and 74 previously) . So if we took an average of 76 points, we could still achieve what Fulham achieved last season with room to breathe! It will mean very few f**k ups but if we get on a roll, who knows? MM (My Stella glass is always half full) !

32 points out of 48 would get us to 76 . 10 wins and 2 draws out of 16 games ? With all the players firing you would like to think you could give it a go. Looking at the fixtures . 9 wins 4 draws and 3 defeats would be a very good return and would get us to 75 points . Think all the teams will take points off each other making it very tight.

08 Feb 2018 22:58:45
Martyn that is blind hatred, which is fine. But to say you feel worse than Hockaday is just blind. We need to listen to what others are saying, bright young talented coach, coach that the team who lost him wanted to keep (seriously someone tell me last time that happened? i don't think it has in my lifetime? ) , someone who won promotion and kept a team up despite losing best players and with a budget of 1 pound. I don't mind hatred i hate Arsenal with all my heart but then stupidy is something else. you have to respect the job heck done with Barnsley as much as i have to respect arsneal have won stuff and play nice football (sometimes)

I have a change in opinion on saturdays team. Personally thing dallas and berardi will be the right hand side for the rest of the season and we will switch from 4141 to 442 all year. In games that we want to look more threatening in we will probably play a 442, and games where we look to counter we could use the extra defender. Unfortunately, this gives me a problem with where to play saiz. You could play a 4411 and have him just off the striker, but i like the idea of a left and right midfielder and 2 central rather than 2 deep and 3 attacking, as the only attacking midfielder who really gets back is alioski imo. the team i think will start saturday i: wied, anita, penns, jansson, de bock, forshaw (holding mid) dallas (right) vieira, phillips (two central) hernandez (left) Lasogga up top. This allows us to really break down sheff utd's midfied 3 with forshaw sitting in behind being a sweeper. If this was a 442 the whole team would remain the same but i'd play roberts with lasogga and have forshaw and vieira in the middle. If it was a 4411, when available in the future i'd play saiz as the number 10, roberts up front alone, and drop lasogga. I think this shows a lot of versatility and can see it being the way forward after PH's comments earlier. Finally when fully fit, i think your whole team should be as follows: Wied, Ayling, Jansson, Berardi, De Bock, Forshaw (captain) with vieira in the centre, hernandez and dallas on the wings, saiz as number 10 and roberts up front. The issue for me with alioski is that he's a diver, simple, he's one of these prima donnas who on his day can win you a game, sunderland, forest away, boro etc etc. But he likes to eat grass too much and fall over his shoe laces and i think youll soon see him shipped out to another championship side, he's an individual not a team player i'm afraid, and i don't think heck will stand for this, and the fans much longer too if he carries on the way he has been. I think lasogga will come back and again PH will bring a new striker in in the summer. there's a basis of a team there and they've all shown grit to win this league or at least go up, for me its about proving it and fighting for your place, too amny players recently, vieira, lasogga, roofe, alioski not putting the work in because they know there's nobody good enough on the benches to replace them. This team is able to beat an over achieving sheff utd side, and again, an over achieving bristol side, but form is key in this league and so is momentum, both of those two sides, along with us, have crunch games coming up and are all out of form. Its now about whos up for it the most. your top 6 imo should be wolves, villa, going up. derby, cardiff, fulham, leeds, and we won't go up because the other teams are more threatening in the final third. But that's why he's here for 18 months, and that's why paul will have a summer to make us one of those teams. MOT

Samo mate, the big problem is where to play Saiz in a 442. he's a luxury kind of player so out wide no chance. 4411 is the only way to go if we change formation.

Maybe kiwi was right. Maybe tc was that bad that ortas signings for first team are majority good. I mean. 80% of team were playing crap anyway when we know they are not that bad. Maybe tc was the main problem. Time will tell. See how they react now. i'm happy if grot. Cyblicki. Alioski. Eukaban all step up and improve. Think we seen all lassoga has got so bye bye. i'm going to be intrigued for next 6-8 weeks. See what happens.

08 Feb 2018 17:55:46
time will tell - if Hecky can't get a tune out of them either then that might tell us more about whether they are any good or not. Problem is you can't tell based on the limited data we have. if you gave me a Ferrari you would probably say based on the way i drive it it was a rubbish car but it would be my driving abilities to blame - in the hands of someone else it could be a world beater. if you give it to 5 people of different abilities and nobody could drive it properly then maybe you start to look at the car and think 'its the car to blame'.

Far be it from me to insinuate anything but. 1) rumours of TC losing players commitment 2) Pontus stretchered off after an innocuous coming together. 3) Pontus declared fit day after new manager appointed. I don't quite know the word but let's try convenient.

Top Marks to Radz for his comments. He is a breath of fresh air. Talking sense with no BS a love of Leeds and a desire to succeed. When you hire a manager in any industry it's a gamble, no one will guarantee succes no matter the CV. It is down to you to balance the presentation the CV and the gamble and in the end all lot of it is a gut feeling. Radz took a punt with TC as many owners have done. Some have come good, some sadly not. There was no guarantee the Pep would succeed at City. Much less of a gamble I would agree but still a gamble. Radz has taken the same punt with Hecky but I assume his no nonsense approach and his liking for forward moving, high pressing football, won him over. So as with many I was dissappointed when I heard the noname Heckinbottom was declared but I am more than happy to put my faith in Radz and give the man a chance. Luckily, for him, his honeymoon period is with a lack of players. Not his fault at all so he gets to ease in slowly, until the Derby game. The only thing I can now see looming is the next rash challenge of Pontus and his dissappearance for 4 games. Still good luch PH and MOT.

AR has taken to social media again to clarify his " mistake " comment on appointing TC. He said as it never worked out then it has to be given the title mistake (or words to this effect) . Strangely though this does not apply to Victor Orta he has ARs full backing. How long before the Orta project is deemed a mistake, oh forgot 5 years! Hope our new coach can stay one step ahead of the mistake label.

Instead of admitting TC was a mistake maybe he should admit they've signed a load of second rate numptys as well and gave TC nothing to work with and didn't replace green wood taylor or bartley with better players. How does he expect to improve the team when we don't replace players with better than what we had. Personally if it wasnt for saiz this season we probably wouldn't be anywhere close to where we are and I also think his 6 game ban cost TC his job. And then cooper and okane hasn't helped us either.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

08 Feb 2018 07:54:28

Every team has its talisman, it was Pontus now Saiz. Fact its its teamwork that got us in the top six and the same team that put us where we are now. If we have a full squad and and a balanced team we can match most in this division depends on how the coach is playing them. Need to make full use of the squad something we have not done for a while. Need to look at the opposition and put out a team to combat them. We can't just rely on the same 11 and same tactics for every game. Good luck to Hecks in his first game, hope he gets some fight back into this lot.

BW we were top for awhile at the beginning of the season, but most of that team was made up from players here from last season. Saiz, Alioski and Felix being the main new players brought into the team. Of these Only Saiz has really been a hit, So safe to say our recruitment this season (judgement Out On January buys) has been poor.
