Heard a lot of people saying that brain said the next deal was a 'big' or 'crucial' deal. Can anyone elaborate on the details or add some link to the truth behind this. I'm hearing this from comments on articles but I haven't read anything on it specifically.

And who do you think the signing will be and when will it be made?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He didn't quite say that. He said the player "excites" him. What we should glean from that is its either a midfielder or striker. Nowadays what goalkeeper or defender excites? Well not at championship level. So it's surely a forward as we got bags of midfielders and I can see Ross, White and Dioufy all competing for same attacking midfield slot so it's got to be a striker. My money is on ALF. Aka Adam Le Fondre. Would be great signing. That fella knows where goal is.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about alf if sharp to reading
Then rowe or a winger. Wabara or upson. And we are done. That would be six in so will be a lot to change at once. See who goes!
Looking good with the 3 so far, mix a bit of youth and allow for some of the players from last year to play better under a proper manager.
Better team than and manager than last year already

Agree0 Disagree0

The most exciting position on the pitch is probably the wing. We also happen to have a chronic lack of wingers. I think it's a winger though I think it will be a surprise as it's not Rowe 'cause Fry has stated we haven't got back to them about him. I'm hoping it's Albrighton or Mackay-Steven though I'd be over the moon with Adomah too.

I watched Canada v Martinique last night on ESPN. player who stood out a mile, very quick and skillful was Kevin Parsemain. the Martinique captain. worth a punt I reckon. Simeon Jackson was playing for Canada, Freddy Picquionne was playing as well but this lad Parsemain stood out a mile as best player on the pitch.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My immediate response to this post is why the f*ck are you spending your time watching Canada v Martinique!

Beckford might have his contract cancelled by Leicester. Surely we can afford him on a free. He has the pace we are missing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bolton have already bought him for a reported £1million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, but not the attitude or loyalty.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really sorry to break it to you. He has joined Bolton

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing signed at Bolton yet - Lots of complications apparently. Until the deal is done at Bolton there is always a chance it could fall through. The £1million fee was reported before all of the complications.
If the rumours are right and he is available for nothing then there could be a handful of clubs come in for him

Agree0 Disagree0

How many more times, we don't want Beckford ffs, get a life

As much as i'd love beckford back I'd actually rather have le fondre if it's remotely true we want him. shrew Leeds
Also holt to Wigan good business, as he played for local shrews I know he would have been in becchio mold but better

Jack Butland to go on loan. What does eveyone think about having him as our keeper?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thought about this one the other day. I would think they would prefer a prem team, but he could do a job. I hope that BMD is the type of manager that see's the value in permanent signings and not a team of loan players, he seems to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Over rated - No better than what we have got. If he was that good he would be looking to start as No1 at Stoke

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be an excellent choice - but He might not want to drop down a level - (probably go overseas)

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was going to go to a Championship club he'd go back to Birmingham.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't want to drop down a level!! The championship is the only level he has played in, and he was average then

Agree0 Disagree0

Got found out as average by moving to a club with a quality first choice keeper. good for this level though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Espanyol want him as kameni looks valencia bound.

I reckon the player we are waiting on is dependant on another club getting their incoming player sorted first. My guess is alf or possibly wabara. Either way hopefully we will know sooner rather than later.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would Wabara be dependent on City getting a player in? Don't even think he's played a game for them. Maicon, Zabaleta & Richards are infront of him, not to forget Boyata and some other youths probably!

What do we think about pushing Peltier to RB (his favoured position) and moving Byram to right wing?

No doubt some 'fans' will call Peltier rubbish and that is their opinion, but I feel he never really got a solid chance last season, was covering god knows how many positions, RB, CB and LB, how can a player settle when continuously being moved around, we should have players playing in their specialised position, Peltier grew up as a right back so why on earth was he being played left back when we had Drury, White and even sent out Charlie Taylor on loan, available as recognised left backs. Obviously we now have Warnock so this issue is resoved with cover available, but this will now free up Peltier to move to RB and Byram right wing, plus he's a right winger who can defend.

Aside from this I do feel we need a quality CB and am still adamant we should be signing Matthew Upson, regardless of age, he was quality for Brighton at the back end of last season and will be key to helping Tom Lees develop as well. I also feel if we go with the above it solves one issue of not having an attacking, flairy winger as Byram we know can make forward runs and out do a lot of defenders for pace, plus will score his fair share of goals, as seen previously his finishing is pretty good.

I have seen a lot of speculation also regarding Gary Mackay-Steven, now I am not particularly familiar with him so can't say if he would be the answer, but from word of mouth and certain write ups it seems he is one of a few possible untouched gems in Socttish football, added to the fact he is predominantly left footed means coupled with Byram on the right we could have a scary pair of wingers who could frighten every defence in this division.

These are obviously just my thoughts, will be interesting to see who comes in next.

Good post I agree entirely

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with trying Peltier at right back. Sam is a threat running at players, so why not give him a shot. He reminds me of a young Gareth Bale and could be just as good given time. RB is the only position for Peltier in my mind, we need another CB to play alongside Tom and he isn't the answer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do agree to pushing byram forward, however I feel peltier should be used as a squad player in a centre back role. Therefore I think a new right back should join like wabara or any other pacy, young right back so we can utilise byram as best as possible.
I also think a new centre back is required and I also agree matt upson should be our man
Gary mackay Steven should also be snapped up to go on the other wing to add even more pace to deliver to the strikers.

My team for next season.
Kenny, Byram, Warnock, Lees, Pearce, Austin, Green, Murphy, McCormack, Smith, Hunt or Diouf. We badly need at least 1 more CB and a wide player. A striker wouldn't go amiss either. Think Pugh gets harshly treated as well. Good player for the bench as he can cover numerous positions and he's a good pro with an excellent attitude.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Guarantee you this won't be preferred line up. It's going to be Green or Austin. Ross will be used as attacking midfield perhaps in a free role with Diouf challenging should he lose form or fitness. Up top Smith and ALF.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pearce will not start for us nor austin

Spearing or wisdom anybody? Both seem worth a go? Wisdom more so, stuff wigan, we should get him!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wisdoms a Leeds lad. Used to go to Abbey Grange School with my son. JD

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackburn are signing spearing we don't need him anyway got more than enough central midfielders at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Spearing is past his best and that wasn't great, but wisdom I would take all day long, a fantastic loan.

Well BMcD was hoping to get another in for the away trip, anyone heard or seen sign of this happening? Maybe the player in question could be flying out later in week. I know not a rumour but its more than 140 letters so I'd rather post/ask on here
