Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Im not sticking up for McCormack but. Maybe he just thought Leeds were going nowhere. Maybe he was right, because at one point during the summer I thought we were screwed for the new season, and still might be.
Maybe he is a money grabbing git, but who can blame him. If I played for, say, fulham and another club offered me a big payrise i'd be on my bike prompto! He is not a fan of LUFC like us and therefore shouldn't be judged the same. And personally I think he ALWAYS tried his best in a white shirt, even in previous seasons when things wernt going so well for him. As for his recent statement about his transfer does anyone know if he was rubbishting for sure, because I dont? Anyway life is too short, because that man we are talking about kept us up last season. Of that I am sure. MOT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If he just admitted he left for the money instead of making excuse after excuse it would have been forgotten now . If you believe he left to go to Fulham for " Football reasons " you are very naïve Cork mate. He tried to leave on at least two other occasions and touted himself on Sky for a move in January . Goodbye and good riddance badge kisser .

Nobody can question McCormacks effort in a Leeds shirt, and nobody can really criticise ambition and seeking better finances even if it is misplaced.

It's a question of having a bit of dignity and respect in the aftermath

Chalk - Jermain Beckford
Cheese - Ross McCormack

Enough said

Agree0 Disagree0

Where does the him wanting to leave in jan come from? in jan if you look at his twitter and hear what he said to the press he was quite clear he didn't want to leave and wasnt going anywhere. not saying he didn't want to leave but none of us picked up on it then nor did the press. even close season he said I want to get promoted with leeds etc. then hock come in and he wanted out. he did what most would do. at the start of the season if someone said to me ill pay your mortgage if you predict who finishes higher I would of gone for fulham (i still think they will pull it round to be honest) imo ross was a good loyal servant who loved leeds and would of stayed MC and hock scared him off and he went for what he saw as the best chance of a premiership career fair play to him

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you were told by everyone that he wanted to go, but none of you wanted to admit it, just like the Southampton fans regarding Luke Shaw ahead of this summer.}

Wrong Bermondsey
He did a TV interview on transfer deadline day and it was clear he was inviting offers from clubs to come and get him.
I believe MC pulled the plug then on any transfer (thankfully)

Agree0 Disagree0

Bermondsey, its well documented he wanted to go to either Newcastle or Cardiff in Jan and before that only a wage rise stopped him going to Boro last summer . As for Fulham being a better bet for promotion, maybe then they appeared the more likely, but I don't think he would have gone for the same money as he was on at Leeds do you? So as I said he moved for financial and not football reasons and if he had the balls to say this he would be more respected instead of bad mouthing the biggest and best club he will ever play for .

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Grabar, let's all just leave Ross in the past and concentrate on the game in hand

Agree0 Disagree0

Grabar, you're spot on there. I made a similar point in an old thread about him showing a bit of class and respect. If he wanted to go, fine. see ya Ross. We got a great deal for him so there's no reason for bitterness. The fact he's come out and started bleating on has kept people talking about him which he probably gets off on. The only time we should be talking about him is when we play Fulham and he does f**k all.

MM

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough, I did think it was odd that I missed it but if people see it then I must of. still think it is fair enough if he wanted out but as grabar said it is about having the respect afterwards. Beckford treated leeds very badly and left us in the lerch and refused to be part of the team (when they traveled to dartford where they were staying when they played charlton he was not on the team bus and came down by himself which I thought was wrong) however he has always shown respect since leaving and what ross has come out and said was bit silly and not going to go down well with us

Well done Delph, awesome England debut. Nice to see Leeds lads in the national team. Apart from Wilshere everyone had a decent game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rooney was rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Rooney was a bit better than is usual get ball fall over in an england shirt tonight.
But he's allways rubesh really!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - He was awful ! }

Never get why Rooney gets a place in the England team. Supposed to be a striker that has scored what? 1 goal in 3 world cups?

Sooner he retiers the better for England we can then move on instead of trying to get him to play as a square peg in a round hole

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney
Has done nothing for 2 world cups and 8yrs in an England shirt.
Poor Ricky Lambert I'm not saying he's England class but he got brought on in 88th min in a friendly and 88th min last night, what's he going to do in a few mins!
Well last night he set a goal up something Rooney couldn't do playing most of the match.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really please with the young lions we had most of the ball looked better in defence and beat a good team 0-2 away from home. thought all of our young players showed promise and might be the start of a good future for the three lions. england to win euros and leeds to win prem win double in 2016?

Agree0 Disagree0

I must have been watching a different game, didn't think Rooney was rubbish at all, was on par with the rest of the team apart from Cahill who was world class, and he started the breakaway for the first goal.
Great team performance, and even Henderson played well, and he isn't good enough for a national team.
Good result, job done!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the same Henderson who was Liverpool's most important player last season as they came second? The one that was suspended for 3 games that saw Liverpool fold and hand the title to Man City because he was out? You obviously haven't watched the lad play or have no idea what you are talking about. Judging by your comments about Rooney, I am leaning towards the latter though.....}

Thought rooney played ok .men of the match cahill and wellbeck. if rooney does hang up his boots cannot see him pulling on a LEEDS shirt not on £300,000 a week. ONCE A BLUE ALWAYS A BLUE.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed001, you are the expert? I do apologise.
I did think Suarez was Liverpool's most important player but maybe they will finish 2nd or higher without him, or maybe the rest of the team couldn't handle the pressure at the finish line and capitulated at the final hurdle? Just my opinion. but by your reckoning, surely we should have done better at the world cup having Henderson in the team?
I am not saying Henderson isn't a good player, just not influential enough at international level. We could stick any of a bunch of players who can pass the ball sideways.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sorry but again showing a complete lack of knowledge of the lad, he doesn't pass sideways except for England and then only because the manager is an imbecile. As for England doing well, the manager is a complete dinosaur with not a clue how to manage, it doesn't matter what players he has, they will always be deployed badly. By the way, when did I claim to be an expert? Perhaps you should apologise, because I clearly know more about Henderson and Liverpool than you will ever know.}

I can see where kebabman is coming from but I think henderson is one of them players who does a lot of work that the tv don't show. almost a unsung hero and is far better and more important that it sometimes looks. what pleased me most was defensive display, johnson, jakleika not good enough so be keen to see stones, shaw, chambers come through

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he was absolutely fantastic last season for Liverpool and has been again this season. No way would Liverpool have folded against Palace with him in the side. He has become vital. Take a look at the through ball he played for Sterling to score a couple of games back for Liverpool, it was a peach of a pass but the media were busy concentrating on the finish as Sterling is a current media darling. Understandable like, because Raheem is a special talent, but he needs midfielders like Hendo at Liverpool to be able to play his game.}

09 Sep 2014 12:21:20
Ed001 - I agree. I think he has come on in the last year and looks like a player who can replace Gerrard. Not sure sure about Wilshere playing bottom diamond though, but can't think who should - assuming England aren't going to bring Carrick back.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the only one I can think of would be Cork from Southampton, He was excellent at times for them last season in that role.}

Completely agree about Jordan Henderson, his vision is unbelievable at times and with Gerrard now retired that was something we would lack. Wilshire will never be the player everyone expected him to be after his injury, loses the ball far too much and spends most of the game on his a*se. Also agree with the Lambert comments, hardly played for England but still managed 3 goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies Ed, I only elevated you to an expert following you belittling my opinion by stating you clearly know more than me and more than I will ever know.
All I claimed is that Henderson is a good player but nothing super human and that whenever I have seen him play (albeit mostly on MOTD) for Liverpool and Internationals on ITV, the majority of the time he passes it sideways and isn't a dynamic midfielder (I don't believe he would get into any of the other top 3 English teams, seldom goes past players).
As for being fantastic this season, looking at the stats of player ratings from sports writers (who know far more than I), here is Henderson's ratings :
Southampton - 7
Man City - 6.5
Tottenham - 7
Good but not amazing, and Sterling had a higher rating in all games.
I for one would have Ross Barkley in the team before Henderson when he is fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - dynamic? He is probably the most dynamic player in the English leagues! He never stops running and played despite an injury yesterday. Sports writers know nothing, please don't suggest they know any more than any of us, they quite simply don't, they just have qualifications in writing, not knowledge of the sports. Oh and Sterling has been sensational, but you don't play that well as a forward when your midfield feeding you is crap. As for Barkley, they don't even play the same positions! Barkley should be the point behind the strikers, Hendo is a box to box midfielder. Barkley is a fantastic talent, but he is not ready to be given responsibility for the national side, he is not even ready to play a full season yet, hence his injuries. You might want to ignore what you see on MOTD, it shows nothing of value for judging players.}

Ed and kebabman I think that's the beauty of football is its opinions and no real right or wrong. I personally wouldn't have rooney or wiltshire in my england starting 11 if everyone was fit others would. mt team would be heart, stones, cahill, chambers, shaw, deplh/cork, henderson, barkley, sterling, sturridge and ox/walcott. I would give youth a chance to get experience in easy quslifing group. others would disagree. what I am sure we can all agree on is henderson while good player is not a patch on calton plamer or neil killkenny (shame he wasn't english as better than gerrard)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - hahaha, I can't argue with that, I am laughing too hard to do so!}

Of course you can't if calrton palmer and neil killkenny were both in the england team in the world cup we would of walked it. I started a patition to get carlton out of retierment for the world cup but only two people signed it me and his mother. also just reading over this thred and shows about opinions ed 1 stated henderson was liverpools most influential player while for me it was clearly obvious that it was suarez. different people see different things and that's the beauty of football no right or wrong. although anyone who liked or even tolerated hock was wrong he was useless FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - difference is I watched Liverpool every week live, you would have watched them sometimes. Liverpool played better sometimes without Suarez than with him, we were truly struggling without Hendo though.}

Fair points made all round. Everyone has their own opinions which is why sites like this are so great.
Just out of interest Ed, are you a Liverpool fan by any chance?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes mate. Ed013 is the Leeds fan but he is away so you are stuck with me covering for the mo.}

Well my neighbour supports pool and I've been ribbing him for 18months Henderson would never make a footballer but held my hand up last season I'd put him down as one of the most improved midfielders in the premiership.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed, all becomes clear now.
Hendo is decent but I reckon Yaya Toure is a more dynamic box to box midfielder, do you agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I think he is too good in a more advanced role for that.}

Post said well done to Delph on his english debut and ended with Yaya Toure. How did that happen!
Think I need to take my beer goggles off lol

Just got back from Thorp Arch, watching the development squad.
Adryan got 60 minutes & showed some good skills & touches. He limped off & was sitting on bench nursing his foot, so hope he's ok? Chris Dawson looked class.MOT

According to the O/S Adryan got over 80 minutes and there is no mention of him limping!

Agree0 Disagree0

I've just read the OS report, all of which seems to be accurate, although I went especially to see Adryan play & he came off 14.15. He was definitely limping & he sat on the bench for the rest of the game with his boot off?
Maybe they are trying to play it down?

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen official report which said he got injured & was limping a bit but by all accounts he's fine. Dawson classy as ever but Phillips is some player who always finds time on ball, probably won't get that time in champsp but still got bags of potential. Listened to Popey audio boo which was brilliant talking to Redders abot this batch of players & the pride he has in them. What a job he's done & apparently our U16s are better from what I've heard. Really hope he doesn't get the top job or it could ruin our academy. Hopefully Naylor & Bromby get jobs back too as they were also a huge part of all this MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry dawson is too lightweight philips is strong and agressive will win you the ball.we have got at least too good full backs and one centre back all under 20 platyng good level now.and that's not counting our new arrivals and cook .mowatt

Some online rumour sites are linking us with loan move for Chelsea's England U-20 captain Lewis Baker

Personally I feel that though Baker would be a good signing, unless there were a clause for transfer he would just take playing time away from Cook and Mowatt, who are both in a very similar mould.

Correct me if I am wrong but, if Ross didn't want to leave then surely it is up to him and he could've refused to go.
He signed a contract at the end of the day!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Didn't he hand in a transfer request!

Agree0 Disagree0

He was after more money yet again, Cellino called his bluff and good ridance to the leech. He is dreading having to play against Leeds, after letting his mouth off to the papers for a story he made up to make himself a payday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't he just come out and say he was asked to hand in a transfer request?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes saying too much IMO, why bother he wanted a move and he's got it, he's gone to Fulham on more money which is what he wanted.

Lets move on without him ;)

What is with all the press recycling a story about Redders has massively impressed everyone. Now don't get me wrong I do like Redders and think he has done a good job in the academy.

But all this is on the back of one game in which our new keeper played out of his skin - if he hadnt then the press would be all doom and gloom and relegation.

IF Redders get the chance then I only hope if he falls out of favour that Massimo let's him step back to the academy rather than leaving.

I am all for Massimo taking his time in finding the right Coach and happy enough for Redders to run it till then.

lets not appoint someone quickly and make another mistake.

MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree Oxwhite, it really pisses me off that the press goes mad after one game either good or bad, it is really dum yet thy get away with printing it time after time.

Saw the Bolton game and they should have won it really, so great Redders got a result, changed the team/formation a bit so full credit but does that make him the best coach for us moving forward? I think not, just hope MC doesn't do his emotional thing if we win on Sat and give it to him, he is best/prefers working with the academy so let him do what he really wants and get a qualified coach/manager in who knows the score and can handle multi-national teams and a pushy owner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Ox & DG, at least they are writing something positive, that's rare! Unsure of any of the names put forward really and also of exactly what we need! The only thing I can suggest is that at the moment Redders does not have too much pressure, he won't be afraid to change and try new players, won't try and fill the team with seasoned players to kill the game and scrape every point possible. Also with the squad being young, its his forte. His previous stints were at real low points so was always going to be hard to get results, don't think we can compare. He may be the right man at the right time, who knows.

I think you are being too harsh he scored a lovelygood goal against poodle s and looked good on right side of midfield with byram overlapping
