I think a lot of respect should be shown to NW as he has the record that can't be disagreed with. However, I don't think he has done himself any favours by stating from the outset that this was his last season, then stating if the fans weren't with him he wouldn't be here. Both of these statements are fine if were winning and near the top, but now those comments give him nowhere to go. Neil as much as I respect you, I feel we need someone with a fresh approach new tactics and also when someone isn't playing well move things around and not play favourites. Youve given it your best shot but I think we all agree it just isn't working. word of warning GFH the next guy that comes in level with them and if you really haven't got the money sell to someone who has.

hello everyone,
this is my first comment on here so please be gentle with me!
i live and work in spain so rarely attend games & only manage to see them when televised or streamed. also, I have to trawl the internet to find news and match reports etc as we´re not famous anymore. however, as a 40 yr old beeston lad & lifelong fan, I hope you´ll allow me an opinion.

as we all know its been 11 years (i think) since we were "big" and barring a few glorious cup games we haven't had much to shout about. but over all that time I reckon we, as fans, are more negative now than ever. some of the comments I read on here are very worrying and coupled with low attendances make me wonder what the future holds for us. (i know: armchair supporter complaining about attendances!)

some opposing player recently said that elland road (aka: "the motherland") isn´t an intimidating place to visit anymore and whilst watching the spurs game I kind of knew what he meant. maybe it was just espn doing it on the cheap (1 microphone in the car park?) but this was the first big game I can remember where hairs didn't stand on end, my heart didn't race and my knees never looked like becoming jelly as the roar from thousands of beligerent, loyal and remarkably handsome yorkshire folk filled my soul with pride. it actually reminded me of old trafford - a little bit insipid.

then, after a superb result, I read comments from our own fans complaining about our style of play. but we are where we are with players of a standard that is fitting for the level of our league. the championship is a ridiculous league where any team can be beaten but in the same week can destroy a side of superstars in the cup. our games against southampton, everton and spurs are good examples of this. we fully deserved those wins, not elegant (we´re not barcelona) but neither were we all "long ball" as I read on here. I thought we outfought, out-thought, and at times outplayed all of them and I was bursting with pride. this was quickly deflated when I came on here and read the comments from many of our fellow fans.

we are all frustrated - we never liked warnock and he never liked us but he´s here and he wants the same as us. I agree that his tactics, team selection and in play decision making seems bewildering but i´m a chef so what do I know? well I know that his record of promotions is impressive, he´s brought in a few names that I thought were mistakes but have proved to be inspired (eg: diouf & rudy), he´s guided us to some really enjoyable victories and most importantly he´s got the players fitter, hungrier, more organised and working as a unit. surely we should be supporting him.

why have we started slagging off our own players? yes, kenny ****ed up today but he´s 1 of 11. he made one mistake, goalkeeper errors are always costly. how many shots did we fail to hit the target with? big goal - proffesional footballer - kick it at it - its easy! drop everyone who fluffed a shot, missed a tackle or made a wayward pass! even better, sell em to norwich!
the point is: we´re a team (all of us) and one mans mistake (or did kenny do it on purpose?) shouldn't be singled out and that man pilloried by those who are supposed to be on his side.

finally: it´s crap when our favourite players leave. but that´s football, that´s business. the premier league is the place to be- even if it´s norwich. but look at what they´ve all done since leaving us. beckford, for example was a star until he left, then he disappeared. now he´s a bit part player for a crap team! there´s a reason why players at leeds make headlines, get famous then move on and end up lost in mediocrity. the leeds fans have always made their players excel, we´ve always forgiven mistakes and lack of skill when it´s backed up by pride and passion for the shirt. let's get back to that.
anything can happen in this league. middlesboro lost their 5th game on the bounce today yet remain in 6th!
its not over yet!

It's sad we had a great chance to go up last season as the league wasn't great, same again this season but with little or no investment we've blown it again. I really hope we can get into the play offs and win promotion but it is going to be very difficult. If we don't go up stand by for more of our better players being poached Especially Rossco & Byram, and a new team to be developed, Another wasted season?

Fantastic post Chef. I'm sick of all the negativity, a lot of which is over inflated opinion. Soldiers returning from Afgan minus a leg, a mother losing a baby every minute in Africa, oh whoopee do a Leeds fan having a moan, again, it pails insignificance. I like to try and find the positives, but maybe that's just me. MOT

Lets be perfectly honest here Leeds fans, since the full time whistle everyone is now saying Warnock out again etc etc. . if Kenny didn't make a cock up we would have won and we would all be happy and tonight we wouldn't be getting these Warnock out posts as nobody would be bitter about not dropping points! We drew the game, we didn't lose. . we should have won but Kenny is to blame, personally I think Warnock got the selection spot on, the lads played well Norris was outstanding and the new boys didn't do bad. We just shot ourselves in the foot! Well Kenny did! Boro lost so we've gained a point on them, we've got them next if we win there then were back in with a shout. it's still mathematically possible so keep the faith, support the team yes have your opinions about Warnock but don't it ruin your love for Leeds United the club will be here longer than Warnock!

We're Leeds United we do it the hard way!

I know we should have won today, but from the results around us, and with the game we have in hand on some teams we still are in with a chance so I for one will not be giving up just yet. A win at boro and I will be happy. Think we need to stick with a team instead of making 4 changes a game and just go with that. I think aidy white should be starting the game. I really think we should get Atkins if GFH can't see that their blind. I also thought warnock said that he would leave if lost the support of the fans and all the fans I have spoke to and seen on here seem to want him gone.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

ed please please post this. Am I wrong in thinking that ross barkley should have started today? why the hell is michael brown a constant figure in the team? wolves are so poor a team with no confidence, no bite and look like religation, but yet time and time again we seem to struggle against these teams! Surely if barkley is available today HIS LAST GAME OF THIS LOAN SPELL why is he on the bench if warnock has no intention of playing him? he has wasted a place on the bench and halted the lad barkleys chances of showing moyes why he can progress at our club. If I was a player in the leeds dressing room I would be seriously considering my future with warnock in charge, also why did warnock persuade white to stay if he had no intention of playing him? in my opinion white is quality at this level, fast, good on the ball, can score a goal or two, and always gives 100%. GFH need to act now and get rid of warnock and here are the reasons why. reduceing gates at home. lack of motivation from warnock. lack of ambition from warnock in the transfer window. lack of ideas when it comes to team selection. no commitment from warnock with a contract. no commitment fom GFH over offering the warnock a contract. (because they don't trust him with funds) I think our club has been through enough in terms of time wasters, warnock in my opinion is not the rite manager for this great club. Agree9 Disagree1

I find it hard to disagree with Warnock dropping Barkley this wknd, he was shocking against Cardiff. In reality Green came in for Barkley so it has nothing to do with Brown. A defensive midfielder is a necessity and without Austin this seems the most plausible option. We have scored two away goals today, fact is if we could defend we would have won.

Without kenny we would have won today

What has Warnock offered to this club?

We're sat in mid-table mediocrity, play an ugly hoof-ball style and have an average attendance that is our lowest in years! Two of our best players have been sold under his management (both to Norwich which makes me question whether these owners have any pride), and both have been replaced with relatively poor players (excluding Morison and Habibou who I think deserve a chance to prove themselves).

I say get rid as soon as we can, and bring in a manager that knows what he's doing, has a "ball-on-the-floor" philosophy and can pick up points in the process!

Here's my view on the takeover, I think gfh are a front for Bates. The reason being is because Bates always stated he would welcome investment, but this has never materialised due to his usual excuses like timewasters etc. The truth of the matter was that noone wanted to do business with this man so he had to remove himself from the club as a figurehead or else the club would end up in dire straits. Enter gfh, a deal was cut so that they would conjure up would be investors and Bates could pull the strings in the background. That is why gfh are willing to sell shares to gain investors. Not sure if they have our club at heart and these are the type of questions that they need to answer. mot

Looking forward to 18th Feb Q & A with new board. Thinking about this and being realistic, there is no way SP or DH are going to give straight and clear answers to all questions.
Q will NW be Leeds manager next season?
A? There is no way they could comment about NWs contract situation with fans unless they had discussed this with him, confidentiality and all that!
Q Is there a wealthy backer behind GFH?
A? Again, I doubt they will comment as we would like because if they said NO, imagine the reaction and a sure way to lose supporters faith and confidence.
Q. How much money will be available to manager in summer for transfers?
A.? Likely not to want to give other clubs idea of Transfer kitty for fear of inflated player fee, wages, greedy agents.

I think they will be more likely to use this forum to try and connect with supporters more and listen to views & ideas maybe?
I will be asking them about ticket pricing, membership cost, letting them know I would like to see football again at ER and not hoofball. Tell them our scouting system needs to improve, get some decent back room staff with a younger manager. Ask about their plan for next season and if we get to Prem what are their plans for making sure we stay there!
Crikey. Better shut up as could go on all day!

This is just me sharing my opinion, I appreciate not everyone will share these. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I respect this!

Me personally, I believe both sides of the argument are valid and that the strong difference in opinion is brought on by the strong passion that we all have for this great club.

A great love and passion which when we are UNITED reverberates around the ground in awe inspiring fashion making ER one of the most feared grounds to visit in Britain.

So if you love this club, no matter which side of the fence you're on, get back to the ground (those that can afford to)
Create that spine tingling atmosphere that very few fans anywhere can compete with and scare the HOLY SH!TE out of the opposition because the truth is. .

Well now, our new owners have decided to hold a fans' forum on 18 February. They, like me, must be sick of the abuse they are getting from some of our fans.
Now is the chance for all the moaners to ask their questions like do you have sufficient funds? what are your plans for the club? is NW staying on next season if not, are you trying to secure a replacement? who is the mystery backer behind GFH? etc. I really hope we get the answers we're looking for and maybe the abuse will stop.
Personally, I think they're doing a good job. Trying to thin out the squad and reduce the wage bill, securing the futures of our young players and not throwing millions away in this transfer window when prices are inflated.
I'd love to see us MOT but I don't think it will happen anytime soon because some people are never satisfied. We all want to be back where we belong but it takes time. the last eight years have been a wasted opportunity because KB didn't have the financial clout to get us out of this division. Your comment saying bates has no financial clout is utter garbage.
Before he bought leeds he had just sold Chelsea for over 100 million he sold our best players and pocketed the money. We paid premiership prices for mediocre football

Agree4 Disagree2

I agree with what you are saying and it's true that the vast majority of people that have left the club certainly deserved to go.
It's just that once again very little has been SPENT on purchasing players again.
My personal opinion (although we are not out of it yet this season) is that we are still 2 or 3 decent signings away from a promotion capable squad and to compete with those teams around us, we are going to have to purchase at least one player that will cost 1 mill +.
So far I see no evidence that the new owners will be prepared to do that.
I hope I'm wrong and they significantly invest but if they don't then i'd like to hear your stance then.

Clarify again why you think the new owners are doing such a good job? Is it because they have realised that warnock is useless and got someone else in? Is it because of their open and precise communication to the fans? Is it because they could not stump up an extra 200 k for Burke, one player that would have kick started our season? I'm a bit confused as to exactly why you think they are doing a good job?

Let me guess neil tells them what to do. Well if your manager told you to strip down to your under garments and cluck like a chicken would you? I hope not. Look you can blame neil or anyone but remember its the players who kick the ball. The manager is a motivational tool brought in by owners to train and encourage the players its up to them to how they play, who they pass to and ultimately whether the hoof it up front or pass it about.
I for one will back neil till he is gone regardless of where we are in league.

So contarary to your strange theory the managers has a lot to how the team play, There is far more to a managers job than going in the dressing room before & durIng the game & getting all the lads to get in a group huddle & growl. Oh by the way I am the OP

Thanks for the post Neil, glad to see you actually care, now go away and coach the team to play football on the deck, show them some progressive tactics and empower the players to take risks whilst developing a flexible shape. Do you understand any of that?

To the original poster how from my reply to your post do you deduce that I never attend games. A manager dictates how the team set up & play & as for the team not performing well that is also for the manager to sort out that's why they get paid vast amounts of money. I try to go as often as I can to games but I've got 3 young kids & a new car to buy & I bet my dads bigger than yours , haha

Mate I Bet your the type that will go after leeds start winning and claim I was always there. Maybe your choice to pinpoint me as neil is to give yourself a warm feeling inside that you can give stick on here but go all gooey legged when you meet him in person. Ignorance is bliss and I will ignore self proclaimed super fans such as yourself go glory support man city but you would probably still find fault with them
