I get where you're coming from SMitch. However I personally want to watch a team playing football not battering the opposition. I would love to see this side playing.
Silvestri
Beradi Bamba Cooper Taylor
Byram Cook Mowatt Sloth
Adryan
Antenucci
Yes no Murphy, but for me the jury's still out. Use Mowatt as a forward looking midfielder to give that killer ball (not to do the running about as that's not his game)

Play Adryan behind the front man to link up between the midfield and front man. Use his skill and pace to scare defences as at the moment I don't think anyone is worried about playing us.
Oh on another point SMitch regarding needing fighters not teenagers, I haven't had a fight since I was a teenager! LOL :)

Teams down the bottom don't play football, that's why they're down there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Either of your teams should be good enough.
I don't agree with the people who say all foreign signings were dross. I don't actually believe any signings were awful. OK maybe none were brilliant, but they should be more than capable of getting us further up the league. And without criticising Redders (which I have promised not to do, but wish I hadn't), I can't for the life of me fathom out why Adryan and Sloth are not at the very least on the bench every game. And I still like Billy Sharp but he's a goal poacher not a winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Can see both points, I never care how they play as long as they get three points. I always maintain wilko's team 89-92 didn't play great football but won, after that under wilko the football got better the results got worse, he got the boot. I don't think we have fighters in this team so playing might be best chance, only thing I disahree with with is dopping cook the guy is the next gazza and our best player while fit he must play

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes BW
For the rest of this season anyway, I don't care how they play or who they play as long as we pick up some points. In the longer term, I'd like to see the good football (as well as the points of course). I'm not a season ticket holder, but open to persuasion if I'm likely to be entertained more often than not

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't care if we play rugby as long as we don't go down and beat millwall next week! otherwise I will be playing hide and seek as in no one will see me locally for at least three weeks and my old lady disguse is in the cleaners

Cook is one of our stars but still young. He is playing well but on Saturday you could see his legs were gone after about 60/65 minutes. That was the time to bring him off maybe even sooner. We lost Byram for a long spell for over playing him. Hope we don't do the same with Cook. Given all the Hype Redfearn couldn't / wouldn't do the necessary. 'smitchell8' had a team selection earlier. Spot on I thought maybe the odd amendment but for me that would be our best shot. Morison is a no hoper can't see how he keeps his place. Never a big fan of Sharpe. Has never mad a real impact when in the starting line. If it were me, and just because he has scored goals in the past elsewhere, I would give him a last chance (to compare him with Antelucci) with Cani up front hoping that Cani's ability in the air and for holding up the ball would give Sharp a better chance. Unfortunately Cani abilities are reputation only. Hope he does well. can't be worse than Morison.

Some thoughts about the game on Saturday. Despite the fact the Referee was poor, he was not the sole reason why we lost the game. Granted he could/should have awarded at least one penalty (maybe two), missed a handball and potential foul in the run up to their goal and indulged the Brentford players by giving a free kick every time they felt slight contact and threw themselves to the floor. The reason why we lost is because Redfearn has an inability to read a game and make tactical changes to influence that game. His starting selection was positive, being the home team it made sense to integrate another attacker as the onus would be on us to break them down. As the game developed it was clear for all to see (except Redfearn) that our midfield was being overrun by a side that had set up on the counter attack. The reliance on Morison led the team to play direct passes which were easily dealt with by the robust Brentford centre backs. Luke Murphy has been playing well as part of a midfield 5 probably because there is less pressure/responsibility on his shoulders however in a midfield 4 he again went missing. For all the endeavour of Austin he is not a natural left sided player and causes more problems when given licence to roam. Our strikers need to be more clinical many because we create so few chances and in the end I can't remember their keeper having to make a save. We huffed and puffed but in the end we were lucky not to lose by more than one goal.

Was at the game and watch the highlights on LUTV. NottsWhite I agree, the ref wasn't the only reason why we lost. Re the pens I felt at the game they were, but having watched it, Rudi's did look like it could be but not the other two, also the handball was really hard to spot even when I rewound it, so can understand Mr muppet ref missing that as well.

Ref was poor but I think in that period the team lost concentration and they scored, you have got to keep playing on.

Redders needs to react sooner, it was clear that Morrison/sharp was not working at half time if not before, cook ran out of gas around 65 mins. One of the skills as a manager/head coach is to see what is happening and quickly react to it, we tend not to do that.

At Reading go back to 4-2-3-1, but morrison can't be a starter can he? If we need a big man up front play Cani, replace him after half time if knacked, he can't be any worse that Morrison who has had his chance. don't start sharp, Ant instead for me. most people saw on Saturday that we lost the midfield after about 15 mins, we need 5 in there clearly so start like that.
Can't see us winning on Tuesday but a draw is possible for sure.

Is anyone else sick of reading how great Ajose is doing at crewe and how many goals he has scored? He should be doing it for us and in my opinion should not have been sent back out on loan. What a huge mistake Leeds made by sanctioning this, absolutely ridiculous decisions. He should've been given a lot more time, I mean how many chances have we given Morison and still no goals. So he holds the ball up but so did Luciano when he was with us. Annoyed leeds girl today grrrr

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well Liver, to be honest I didn't really shed any tears when he went - but given how things have developed you are correct. And he definitely wasn't given long enough to settle in

Agree0 Disagree0

Just as a follow up - can't loan players be recalled at any time, or does it depend on the contract?

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point but seen him a couple of times for leeds and don't think he is upto this level. he seemed headless. lots of pace and can see why he can do it in the league below but don't think he would step up in our team. bit like tarrat good in our league but never prem. some luxuary players have to stick to their level

Brenford ripped us and this league aprat half the team in league1 are stronger than them on paper so ajose is well up too this level hockaday never played him up front allways out wide and you would like to think that's the case speedy n if is why ain't idiot in charge get him bk instead of bringing in cani and bet crew get him for free after he finishes on 15 goals!! any of you think adryan on wing? Lufc4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point shaddit at least give the guy a go upfront for us?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you shaddit about Brentford mainly being a league 1 team & outplaying us. Let's face facts people that Ajose given a few games would do it for us. More so than a few players we already have. What we need to face up to is that there isn't much difference between the top half of league 1 & the bottom of the championship. And as much as I hate to admit it Leeds are a bottom half side with very mediocre players. We will be lucky to stay up.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will stay up easy, not as we are good but there are enough bad teams to keep us up, I can not see any of the teams below us over taking us. I know a lot of millwall fans who go every game and none of them are talking about us regarding religation as they know them and blackpool are certain to drop out of the other teams I do not see us going. Next season must be better

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely think if we stay up (and we should), we will be looking at a very different set up next season

I think its fair to say that kids won't fight us out of a relegation battle. So drop them. my team for reading would be

-----------Silvestri

Byram---Cooper---Bamba---Taylor

------------Bellusci

----Murphy----Austin----Sloth

--------Antenucci
-------------------Cani

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Looks good to me mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with most of your team, would probably use Mowett rather than Sloth. I agree it would be good to try Bellusci in front of the back four and see what he brings and why not give Cani a start, no one else cam score for us at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone been saying cook out best player by far yet you would drop him? some people moan about foreign legion and lack of english players, we have some gifted english youth coming through ranks. play them, blood them and give them experience. Cook and mowatt have to play for me

Dropping Cook is silly

Agree0 Disagree0

Were in a relegation scrap so no it ain't silly. We need fighters not teenagers

Agree0 Disagree0

Some interesting posts above, but the chance of smitch getting his way with the starting 11 is somewhat less than zero.
Virtually any team we select from our squad SHOULD be able to beat most teams imo. The defence/midfield has been ok generally, but the strikers have mainly been pityful

That team is too narrow, we need Byram and Sloth out wide. I find it incredible that after 18 signings since June, we didn't get one out and out winger.

Smitch, we are in a relegation scrap but we need quality not golden oldies who can throw a punch and get sent off. If it wasn't for Cook we would be much nearer Blackpool right now. Sloth and Montenegro need to feature more. Freshness and a bit of pace.
