We should've signed michu when we had the chance. He's an instinctive number 10 and I reckon would work very well in partnership with becchio

Believable14 Unbelievable3

Pointless post.

Agree12 Disagree3

£2 million pounds, when was the last time we paid that for a player? I should imagine we get offered lots of foreign players, and one in 100 will turn out as good as michu

Agree7 Disagree0

We don't play football like Swansea, he'd be wasted talent in our team.

Would've had him 5 minutes before the bearded cockney sold him and move the money to one of his dodgy accounts.......never to be seen again

Agree4 Disagree0

He would be fantastic but old master bates would never have forked out £2m

i, m not saying he won't go or there hasn't been interest but what i know as fact is that becchio just bought a house in shadwell, leeds. I work for the house builder that built it. He reserved at the weekend

With all the supposed rumours of who is signing and who isn't I thought i would give you all something else to think about. Do you think we should have a new badge design, - especially now we have new owners and hopefully a new era for LUFC?
I don't know about you but I always preferred the rounder versions of the past rather than the shield version we have now.
Your thoughts anyone!

Believable12 Unbelievable14

09 Jan 2013 20:10:24
Hope not i have the shield tatoo on my chest

Agree10 Disagree2

Funny you should say that I was thinking the same only 2 days ago, the Shield design covers an era of champions league succes but also what follows with GFHC era it would be nice to have a new badge, as well as this it would be nice to have relpica kits that last longer than 2 washes.

Agree5 Disagree4

Funny you should post on this subject, I had he same thought and personally I would like us to wear the badge of the Yorkshire White Rose as we did in the late 90's.

But any badge that has LUFC in it is a great badge !

LUFC always

Agree12 Disagree0

Must admit ive always hated the current badge. How long did it take to come up with that monstrosity ? Reminds me of something off a school blazer ! Would dearly love to see the yorkshire rose design return in some guise. Mrc1919.

Agree10 Disagree1

Im sure theres many different leeds badges out there that would look better with a cover up or laser surgery ! The current badge is without doubt the worst ever, so if uve got it inked better save up now for the improved alternative ! Lol ! Mrc1919.

Agree6 Disagree2

I always liked the 1972 LUFC badge best. Hated the smiley face! PK

Agree4 Disagree2

Badge out, Bates out, GFH out, Lust out, everybody out.

Agree0 Disagree3

A new badge for the GFH era mmmmm! How about the skull and crossbones ?

Agree6 Disagree0

I loved the smiley face!

Agree1 Disagree1

90's badge is the best

Agree3 Disagree0

The smiley face and the peacock ahhh I love those badges

Agree1 Disagree1

I liked the smiley, proper acid house

I Will cry if i see Kieran Dyer in a leed top, He is league 1 at best {Ed013's Note - More like the Hospital league!}

Believable15 Unbelievable4

A fantastic pro blighted by injuries pay and play deal would do me fine hope the guy gets a bit of luck either with us or elsewhere

Agree4 Disagree7

Yee can all slag him off including you ed .At the end of the day he got the equaliser at the weekend in the fa cup for qpr in his first match back from injury. {Ed013's Note - It is called banter!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember the combo of him and Bellamy ripping us apart when we played Newcastle 10 years ago. but that's ancient history.

goooodbye andy gray, its nice to see we might be making an effort to get rid of some players. only Pugh, Rachuckba, brown, bromby, rogers, varney to go

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Dont fink warnock will get rid rid of varney as he will be our bench warmer instead of gray

on OS that Warnock likes white hart lane and would be good to play there - does he realise if we beat Brum that we have a home tie !

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Tsk Tsk. Read the article properly. It actually talks of him looking forward to a fourth round replay! TeeCee

as soon as a player is listed for transfer or loan or released why everyone is assuming that leeds go for them or they might come and play for us. there are so many dreamers on this site, don't get me wrong i like the banter and all the joke. but we have to get real.

the new owners have said no crazy spending. this does not mean we start linking every player to our club

Believable7 Unbelievable4

09 Jan 2013 15:29:39
Andy Gray's left and gone to Bradford leaving a striking slot for Dexter Blackstock.

Believable4 Unbelievable7

09 Jan 2013 15:21:25
nahki wells is a decent player
also i think clayton donaldson is a good striker has goals in him.

i personally think big names hasnt ever been leeds uniteds thing. and buying players that want to play for the club is far more better then buying greedy players hungry for money.

heard rumours of howson delph killkenny gradel killgallon this week alone. maybe warnock is using this to keep hes job which does not look safe.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Ill be honest and say when ive seen this nakki wells name i thought it was a made up name by fitzy...
but i saw him last night for first time and have to say he looked decent.good pace, young and talented..perhaps not for us then..
no, been serious he reminded me of oxlade-chamberlain a bit...shrew leeds

Just a thought but Hull have spent 3.5 million and are losing money hand over fist running the club, but the difference is the hull inversters are pushing for the prem league with a small amount of cash, why carnt we ? bit worring when a small Hull business man out guns a major investment bank !

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Hull are only going for short term - remember getting to PL is one thing but staying there is another.

I want leeds to go up and stay up.

Agree8 Disagree0

We have to go up first before we stay up !!!

Agree9 Disagree2

Hull are in the last year of parachute payments from the Prem League, so they desperately need to return to Prem league, even if it's to be relegated next year...they have literally banked on it. If they fail this year watch them go the way we did, player sales and a gradual decline, you are right it's a gamble, with a massive jackpot at the end. But it also risks the clubs future, something we know all about.

Andy gray gone just a few more off top ov me head to follow / white . Pough. Rogers . Kisnorbo .Tate . Varney. Nunez. Come on gfh pay up the dead wood make way for 4 quality players to cone to are great club and the play offs could well be ours .Mot

We've lost a colour. Gray gone. Off to Bradford.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

09 Jan 2013 14:28:12
Andy Grays contract been terminated by mutual terms.......... And as we all know Warnocks been saying we will not be weakening or loosing players without adding or strengthening so who would we like as our new striker??

Wells?
Blackstock?
Jones?
Lambert?
Ojo?

Who may I ask?

Pudsey whites MOT!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

NW probably won't be thinking that as we are now stronger that we have got rid of him, I wish we could see the back of:
Rachubka
Pugh
Kisnorbo (perm)
Bromby (Mutual Termination)
Brown
Tate (Loan End)
Varney
Nunez (Mutual Termination)

As none of them have a the quality that we need to move forward and was signed due to finances, GFHC need to show that they are serious about moving LUFC forward cleaning the decks and starting again is what is needed.

Agree4 Disagree4

Gray leaving leaves a place on the bench for poleon . i seriously don't think we need a new striker if we play the ball on the ground for a change.
we need a few wingers, a creative midfielder and a Lb .the only reason warnock wants a new striker is incase something happens to becchio and then we can keep playing the long ball.

Agree5 Disagree2

You can't mutually terminate the contract of an injured player without paying out extra in damages.

Agree0 Disagree2

Re mutual termination that is incorrect as it is a mutual termination and not a termination that requires additional damages, it is correct that the player can seek compensation. What is evident is that both players do not have a future at Leeds and both would leave on a free transfer or see out the contracts without playing like Rachubka is doing right now. So why not try and mutually terminate their contracts?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mutual termination is where both partys find it best to go there seperate ways for free, teams can release players but have to pay there contract up, so if you was injured gettin payed you wouldnt qccept a no payout and leave, but would accept being released (payed out)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2013 14:25:24
on OS now that Striker Andy Gray has agreed to mutually terminate his contract as he has agreed a deal to sign for Bradford City.

I do not write on this site much, maybe once or twice, but everyone on here seems to be slating players that we have been rumoured to be linked with... its rubbish! as NW said on OS today, he wouldnt want half the players that we have been rumoured to be interested in, and the other half he said he hasnt enquired about... lets leave it till we hear it on OS before judging his signings.

i remember in the Loan window how everyone was slating NW for not bringing players from the prem on loan, one that people did have a moan about was Pennant - because he chose Wolves over us, and look how that turned out... no one knew that we were getting Thomas & Tate in, and i don't think i read it anywhere on any site - it was completely out of the blue and two great signings for us, even just for a month or so!

Sometimes, its not the quality of the player that comes in, its the fact that a new player has joined the squad and makes other players up their game because before there wasn't any competition for any positions, so a new face in certain areas i believe would strengthen the squad massively, even if there not player from the premiership... if your a hard worker and want to play for the shirt not the wages then your more than welcome to put on the mighty white shirt in my eyes!

Agree2 Disagree4

Original poster here... fair comment, although not everything on this site is a rumour is it... its mostly people writing stuff they want to happen then writing 'FACT' to make it sound like its going to happen... therefore its not just a rumour site...

So Lorimers bar was on the other night. I waited with baited breath for answers to all our questions regarding the transfer front and GFH's views. So I goes on twitter to read all about what dogs the players have. Are these people who attend these events for real or have they picked them up from a planet out of space? Jeez I bet the players are bored to death and have a real good laugh.

Top marks mate, he has been released to join them. Nothing the other way though. Hopefully you can tell us tomorrow that you have just seen varney going into there!!

Its gone scarily quiet at the Leeds end of things with nothing coming out of the camp lately apart from us trying not to lose our best players.. Certain supposed targets all going somewhere else as per usual.. Woods, Davis, Danns all signed by rival lesser clubs. Whats happening ? where are GFH ? where is the cash ? new owners same story so much for the good times post Bates... I hope im completely wrong and all Warnocks targets are singed behind closed doors but ive got a bad feeling that GFH are not what they promised...Cas White MOT {Ed013's Note - Warnock said this morning that negotiations are in place to sign a couple of players}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Who said Davis & danns were targets ?

Agree6 Disagree0

What did gfh promise I think you have it mixed up the promise I remember regarding transfers was "we are not going to be spending crazily" its been 9 days out of 31 plenty of time yet... also have you ever heard of a man called Ridsdale shows you the wonder of signing players for more than they are worth. I said at the start gfh are a bank you won't know this but banks make money off INVESTMENTS that's all we are to them don't kid yourself.

After watching brighton and the weekend and then bradford last night. is it me or does everyone seem to be trying to play football except us. just an observation thats all.
I have been to elland road 6 times this season and i cannot recall a good passing passage of play.
warnock out now.

Believable18 Unbelievable7

when stoke got promoted back to the prem league they was a hoof ball team .so the style of play worked for them and its not done too bad for us, we just need a few tweaks to try stop the ball coming back and letting goals in. i know its not very nice to see but its all about getting the points . if we sort the defensive side out we will be in with a good chance of promotion .

Agree13 Disagree5

I would rather go down than play like stoke . its utter garbage and nothing to be proud of . its like a new game "rugby football"

Agree3 Disagree15

Wow you have been all of 6 times this season, well Ive had a season ticket for over 25 years and no matter what they play I will be there to me that is a supporter. Those who stay away are part of the reason for the lack of investment. Less money coming in definately means less going out. Just think all those people who sang until the world stops going round? As far as I know it is still spinning so where are you?

Agree4 Disagree7

Original poster here. Message for the 3rd poster to my original quote. Sorry but i work every other weekend so don't have a season ticket. so your happy with the football being played are you . Do me a favour a get your head out of the sand.

The football is poor and at times dire . new players who want to play the right way . just 2 or 3 and we'll definitely make the play offs and give fans a bit more quality football to watch Karl mot

From what I can gather I think Warnock could be hoping for a couple of QPR players Hill and Faurlin probably fit the bill for players we need. This will depend on QPR getting new players to strengthen first tho so we would have to be patiant. I think thats why we have only extented tate for a month and why tonge hasnt been resigned just yet. If we are after prem players we arnt going to get them until their clubs have replacments, I think its goint to come down to the wire but im sure we will get them in its another waiting game!

I have it on good authority and also met him in person that Shaun Harvey is pretty useless. His record on negotiating any deal on time and without hitch or ending up with us now getting the player is first class. At the press conference with the new owners he couldn't attract any decent players let alone with a pocket full of money. Can we have a new chief exec as this guys record is absolute pants. Are we surprised we don't ave any new players let alone nail down Thomas and tongue.., we fail again. For the sake if Leeds united get rid of Shaun Harvey...useless

Were always gunna have interest in our players while were in the championship, just how it is. I don't wanna see Becchio go but so be it if he does. We defo need lots more pace up front ideally partnering Becchio. I mean when Palace lose Zaha and most likely Bolasie they will be a different team and same with all the clubs in our league. One or two players make such a difference. Utd wouldnt be top without Van Persie. We just gotta hope the players we sign make improvements to the squad. MOT. Vinny.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

There's only one thing that annoys me more than the media constantly referring to "them" as "Utd" - when a Leeds fan does it.

Blackburn want Gus Poyet to replace Henning Berg but have been priced out due to the amount of compensation sought by Brighton. Sir Alex has sent striker Davide Petrucci and defender Scott Wootten out on loan to Peterborough. Have we signed ANYONE yet?

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Fergie loans players to his son wow thats a surprise.

You're missing my point. With two players into Peterborough perhaps George Boyd could make a move .....

Be nice to see Chris Dawson get a shot in the first team! Doing well in the development team.

Believable14 Unbelievable2

He not yet over the hill 30...no chance

Agree1 Disagree2

Stupid second post.. Byram over 30? Lees? Austin? Becchio? Peltier? Hall? Pearce? Michael tonge when he was here? McCormack? Poleon and Thompson have had chances too. The problem is with ell and road especially with the atmosphere at the minute is once people make their minds up on a player after 20 minutes they make it clear and don't usually change their mind...

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2013 00:12:47
Been reading the comments about Becchio's supposed move away from ER with interest. However, nobody has thought about his perspective. He's 29 and probably only has three years at top level left if he is indeed good enough for Premier League. There is no guarantee that Leeds will reach the promised land any time soon although we all hope and pray it will happen.

My guess is that if a Premier League team bids enough money for him either now or in the Summer he would jump at it. I don't want him to go but I wouldn't blame him for wanting to move on upwards at his age.

Don't like all the negative comments about our new owners, it's early days yet still time to get some decent players and at no time have they stated they are looking to sell before they buy.

This time of year, speculation is rife but that's all it is until something happens. Keep patient, the new owners took their time buying us for good reason, give them chance in the transfer window. Maybe they haven't made a statement because they don't want to point out our real targets and alert other clubs. Keep your powder dry! MOT Ron.

Believable11 Unbelievable2

I look at the Becchio situation another way... He was an unknown talent when McAllister signed him - he had a great pedigree with Boca juniors and Barcelona, but he'd always remain an unknown star. We gave him his chance and he's become a cult hero - 5 seasons of double figure scoring is prolific - Becchio saw the last fan favourite striker leave in Beckford and he's done nothing like what he did here, so what I'm saying is I think Becchio knows he is on to a good thing at Leeds and at 29 he is at an age unlike Howson where bench warming is not an option - who knows he might even be targeting all time top league goalscorer for us before he retires - it must be nice to have his popularity - bet he never needs to buy a drink in Leeds

A few months ago, Nicky Maynard was destined to be coming to Elland Rd, but not heard owt about him lately. Anyone know why not? He would be great with Bechio up front. {Ed003's Note - might be something to do with an injury? }

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Quite right, Ed. Injured in September and out for the season. Otherwise we may have been a distance clear by now (hope you do us both a favour by beating Hull. Boro, Palace & Leicester.)
